i had just come across few non-christians in guild and i was wondering how many there really was in this guild. i thought this guild was for christians and people who wanted to learn about christ i was just disturbed that we had non-christians giving advise to people who were trying to come out of their gay lifestyles, telling them that it was ok to be a homosexual or lesbien. its not ok.
Silently waits for Shiroi to yell at and disprove.

Oh, sorry, I didn't see it.

Well, sure, it's not ok. If you're bible believing you'd know that. Though, neither is lying, neither is gossip, neither is many things we see as "little sins" due to all sins being the same in the eyes of the Lord. And if you're gonna expect God to forgive you for telling a little white lie to whoever, you better be ready to forgive whatever homosexual you meet, you also better be ready to forgive the murderers in the prison, the sex offenders in your neighborhood, Michael Vick for dog fighting (did somebody say football!? lol), etc.

Doesn't give us the right to hate on homosexuals. And it DEFINITELY doesn't give us the right to run around with those signs like: "GOD HATES GAYS" Because putting words into God's mouth is not ok either. People who do such things forget the fact that God hates the sin, not the sinner. Doesn't give us the right to hate on the non-believers, either. In fact, we don't have the right to hate on anyone. Well... except the devil.

Media focuses on the Christians who tend to get it wrong. The ones who forget the main thing: LOVE. 1 Corinthians 13. That chapter basically lays down the line about love.

You can be righteous, full of faith, a miracle performer, etc. But if you are gonna go and hate on people for their sins its DOES make you a self-righteous, holier-than-thou, whatever whatever, etc type person. And that's pride. Which, if you have ever had a friend full of pride, there are some moments where you just wanna run your head through a wall.

I agree with Guardian Angel, the media definitly portrays Christians in a bad light. I also dislike the negative connection with the word "Christian" taht sometimes comes about. I usually say I follow Jesus and what he says, however the immediate next question is "So you're a
Christian?" Of course I say yes, because thats what I am ( and proud to be) so I'm not gonna lie. One of my missions is to reverse that Christian sterotype, one person at a time.

To put it simply?

No, I'm not.

Mathama Gandhi once said, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

Christians today are, both generally and as the media depicts them, hypocritical, holier-than-thou, hate-mongering fascists who cling to ancient and useless tradition and ceremony even in the face of efficiency and new technology. Not wanting to be associated with that stereotype, I'd prefer to refer to myself only as a follower of Christ.
Thats good but not every christian is like that and if we had more good people we could change that.

Actually, the problem is that the media only pays attention to the loud Christians who are like, "YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD!!! YOUR GOING TO HELL!!!!!! ALL GOTHS ARE EVIL!!!!!!!!" and stuff like that.

I see your point, and here's my opinion. Its easy to generalize a people when you focus on the negative idiots who are, unfortunately, the one's whom the media spotlights, but the many others who are good Christians are ignored because that's just not news, after all, the media feeds off the negative.

In my experience, and I've experienced much, I've only come across a few said degenerates and I do admit, I remember them very vividly, but I make a point to note in my mind that this does not mean generally all Christians have the same behavioral pattern, I for one, don't. You will find these people in every religion. I believe "holier than thou" fascists comes from one's personality, and its manifest through a religion.

I do not follow traditions of man, but only what the bible brings forth. I'm Apostolic Pentecostal, therefore I do hold myself to a certain standard, but by no means does that account for other people, and it makes them no less a person than me. You might call it a tradition, but I take my points to the bible, not man. I disagree with your opinion, though you may perceive as you see fit, but my experience conflicts with your opinions, so I see it differently.
