iOggy Do I mind? eek Of course I don't mind. I was hoping I'd get Crew status... thankies! And back on-topic: I have two trumpets. One is a student-model Bach, "gold", that I use for marching. The other is a shiny, newful silver Yamaha that doesn't leave its case unless I'm in the band room or on the stage for a concert. I got it a year ago, and it still looks brand-new. *considers taking pictures of his trumpets and posting them* Ooh! Maybe we should have a BNG picture gallery? i have a bach brand trumpet too surprised surprised surprised

Another 3C user, eh? I have to say, that's my favorite mouthpiece period. Use it for everything (except when it's not available). Mine technically isn't perfectly round, due to an accident freshman year (which was not my fault, truly), but it works well enough.
Harmon mutes are pretty cool. More difficult to play with, but hey, it's a pretty sweet sound. I personally most dislike the balance issue of the bell suddenly being several times the weight, but I can certainly cope.
As for our new formerly flute person... be prepared, for the trumpets are a very demanding group. And, of course, just plain awesome. ;P

oh yes yes. very egotistical. but my band director, who is also a trumpet player, says ts what we need. thats what makes us good. always wanting to be better than everyone else. but i hate it when i see a crappy trumpet player thinking they are good. just want to punch them in the face ya'know?
3C's are the best.

Egotistical = must
I'm naturally not an egotistical person, which perhaps holds me back a bit on trumpet. One of my private teachers told me that I need to be more cocky to get better at trumpet. It's amusing for someone to tell you to be more egotistical, and I still haven't gotten used to that part. sweatdrop
I can say with some experience that the 3C is perhaps the best mouthpiece around for those who have played for a while. I passed up a 5C to get it, and I like it better than my 7C and 1 1/2C. I was told I probably ought to get a 5C, but I don't think it's really all that necessary.

5C's are the best for learning because it right in the middle. 3C are harder to play with and 7C's are easiest to play with. I'm no expert but I listen when I hear experts talk. 3nodding The smaller the number the bigger the bowl or base or whatever.
more experienced players must have 3c.. if you cant play on one yet than use a 5c and transition. practice with that until you get good enouugh to play on the 3C. I hope im not giving wrong information... sweatdrop
