"Huh..." He said, after hearing her words about silver. "That's odd, but I understand...the silver I mean." Deon said with a nod "But...I dont get what you mean by growing up with your mortal enemy...do you mean vampires? Or humans perhaps?"

"Vampires. I was born among them with a group of my kin. They were all pretty socially active. There was never a disturbance like here." She said with a muted growl. "Vampires down here make their species look bad."

He shrugged "I guss this city seems to bring out the worst in most people, huh? But your right for every bad vampire theres 5 good ones who are hunted down. I only deal with the bad ones mind you...or at least try too."

"So very true." She said with a slight nod. "I've been attacked countless times by vampires here. They seem to come after me quite a lot." She said with a grin.

"Oooooooohhhh...okay." He laughed, rather nervously before bringing his hand to the back of his head and scratching it slightly "Well...err...sorry if I offended you...but good...having weapons is...good..." He was definitely thrown off balance by this...he had never heard of a vampire and a lycan being together before.

She caught his expression, and laughed softly. "Don't worry, you aren't the first to have that reaction." She said with a smile.

He let out a very long sigh of relief and then smiled "Oh good...I was really freaked out there for a second...hehe...well Im glad that it can work between you two."

"Yeah....But I haven't seen him in so long...." She muttered, a distressed look on her face. It was quickly replaced with a passive mask. She promised no more tears, and she meant it. "But that is beside the point." She said.

"Itel work out the way its meant to." He said simply, not putting any emotion into his voice. In fact it sounded sort of hollow for once, perhaps those words he had spoken meant something to him too.

She sighed and looked back at him. She nimbly jumped up onto a bench and looked down at him. "But...I have learned to be positive, always positive."

He sighed slightly to himself and then shook his head, looking away from her. "I used to tell myself that...and I try to do that...but sometimes...sometimes you cant be positive about something...things get too bad..."

She blinked for a moment, silent. Her mind seemed to conjure images of people dying, and crying children. But wasn't that common in this mishapped life? "Maybe things getting bad means for a career change, or a simple change in life. Everything consists of change, even if they're are small trivial things."

"I doubt changing what I do would do anything, Ive always been a cop, and Ill always be one. Even if its in some other form of helping people stay safe, or showing killers redemption. That's just who I am. And small changes dont do much...heh...that's something I learned long ago...then again growing up in Chicago and being a cop ain't that easy. Then again...maybe its a god damn human thing, who knows? Seem we bring allot of this hurting onto ourselves."
