"Thank you," Vitali murmured before slipping off as she went to Nato--Mitora's father! That must be a good sign, right? Right.
Mitora, Mitora, where are you Mitora? Guessing that Mitora might be asleep in the caves, he went that way, having gathered his bearings by then. He trotted, barely keeping himself from going to a fullout run; she needed to be there. So she would be, right?
Eventually, he made it to the caves, then dipped his head anxiously to the ground, searching for her scent.
Thea followed obediently, nodding her agreement. There would be some signs of life there, wouldn't there? It had been the center of the Tribe, once upon a time. Foxes would know to go there, wouldn't they?
Thea pushed her worries aside, deciding to put her trust into Ari, as she had to. They walked in silence for a while, neither knowing what to say, until Thea noticed the gentle clinking of Ari's modifications, which reminded her of something she hadn't really brought up before.
"I've been thinking about getting some piercings...maybe a tattoo or two as well." The vixen didn't know why, but she just had this feeling that once she got modified, she would feel more...right with herself. More at home in her own body.
"Maybe some regular jewelry as well...Aara had some ribbon upon her tail, last I saw her, and I was considering getting that as well," Thea was rambling now, but she couldn't help it -- the smile on her face was undeniable, even to herself; she loved the idea of changing herself by herself for herself.
"First, though, of course, comes our Tribe tattoo," Thea couldn't quite keep the tone of pride out of her voice; maybe of all the modifications she had planned, this was the most important to her: it would finally mark her part of something larger than herself, some sort of family that accepted her that didn't have to. That was what she wanted.
But first, she recognized, they had to find this family. Her ears pricked forward a minute later and she smiled wider, exclaiming louder than usual but still rather softly, "Ari, I hear someone!"

Ari let Thea talk about her possible mods, recognizing both the tone and passion for change as very like his sister, Rina. It seemed like every time he saw his sister now, she had made at least one change, if not more. Ari could somewhat understand, having quite a few mods himself, but not her level of passion for change. He idly wondered how the two of them, Rina and Thea, would get on, considering their shared passion.
"It's about time you got that," Ari smiled, teasing Thea somewhat. He would not comment on her mods one way or another--he thought they sounded nice, but he had learned that when Rina spoke of future mods, it was to help her decide if she wanted them or not, and had absolutely nothing to do with wanting his opinion on them.
But...while Thea and Rina were similar, they were far from the same.
"Those mods sound good. What sort of tattoo and piercings were you thinking about?"
He watched closely for her reaction. If she reacted poorly, then he would stop 'prying into what was her own personal business', as Rina had once said.
But Thea changed the topic first, pointing out how she heard someone. And yes, there was a new fox at their meeting spot, in the heart of the tribe lands. Male, black markings with just bits of red and white. He blended into the night pretty well.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" Ari asked as he approached, his tone inquisitive, not challenging. The fox seemed to be looking for something, and Ari wasn't sure he even knew he was on tribe lands, despite the markings they had on their borders.

Though he was searching for his daughter, it wasn't long before Nato caught the scent of the tom fox Mitora had been seeing. He was brave to come on the tribe lands like this. But it was not Nato's place to judge the boy. Soon after the dark male ran past, probably also looking for Mitora, Nato was greeted by a familiar scent and a familiar voice. Anjafey.
Nato knew there had been a 'problem' with Anjafey, but he never had learned all the details, nor did he care to hear from anyone but Anjafey herself. The vixen had been one of his first friends and he didn't want to lose her presence like he had so many others.
"Anja." Nato said with a small smile as he nodded back. "It's been to long my friend. I'm glad to see you're doing well yourself. I was worried about you. On several occasions actually." Which was true. He had worried, always wondering if there was anything he could have done to help her, but never speaking up. His features saddened as he thought of all those who had not made it through the winter with the tribe.
"It has been indeed. I'm sure Ari will want to see what's left of his tribe one of these days.." Nato wanted to add in, 'if he's still even around' but knew he shouldn't think like that. Of course both of his elders would not abandon the tribe. It was hard to lose your mate, but probably ever harder being an elder and losing your mate. Nato knew things weren't going well between the two elders, knew there were others who had lost their loves, and knew that Anjafey knew better than most how it felt to lose a mate but he couldn't help but feel so alone.
Gah! Stupid father. Blowing up on her like that! He had no right! No right at all! It wasn't her fault that she would rather be with Vitali than around her depressing father and the rest of the tribe. Mitora loved her tribe, but this winter had been harder than most. Her brother, Anaru, had left them. Her own mother had even left! Nato wasn't the only one feeling the loss of their family. He had chosen to sulk in the caves, but not Mitora. She had chosen to ignore it and spend as much time as she could with someone who made her happy; Vitali.
Mitora sighed and looked back in the direction she had come, back towards the caves. Her father was an emotional mess and she wasn't making it any better. But she needed him to stop being so selfish. She had found her mate, he should be happy for her. Maybe if he just met and talked with Vitali, things would be better. Speaking of which, Mitora realized she hadn't seen her mate in awhile now. But that was because of the snow, not because he'd left her.
With another sigh, Mitora decided to return to the caves to tell her father she was going to look Vitali, an idea she knew her father would hate. Maybe if she pleaded to him about how she cared so much about him, Nato wouldn't be to mad at her. He couldn't stop her really, she was old enough to do what she wanted. She pondered her fathers reaction to her new idea as she walked back towards the caves.
As she got close, it surprised her to smell Ari and Thea nearby. Even more surprising though was to smell Vitali's scent. The grey vixen sniffed deeply as she picked up her pace towards the caves to make sure and there was no mistake. Vitali was here.
"'TALI!" She exclaimed, overcome with joy as she sprinted towards the dark male searching about the caves. She was so happy to see him that she completely forgot Ari and Thea were standing near by.

"Well then let's get going!" Aysu beamed, finding her usualy optimistic spirit. She had been helpless all winter long, and had lost almsot all of her family. But Aysu was the daughter of two Elders, and she wouldn't give up easily. It was best to help those she could and hope that maybe one day they could help her.
Mind made, Aysu turned for the caves, knowing the blue and gray fox would follow along. "We aren't too, too far away," she mused. "A fifteen minute walk, maybe."
"Too long indeed, Nato," Anja greeted with a faint smile. Even in all the turmoil she'd caused, Nato was still a friend, and Anjafey was glad for that. Not everyone seemed to be biased about her past mistakes, at least.
"I'm sure the tribe is gathering at the caves," Anja added with a light shrug. "It is the only gathering place everyone knows how to find." The vixen was dreading the experience, but knew it would be cowardly and disgraceful not to show up. She had a duty to help her tribe, and she would do so, even if Ari watched her like a hawk. Maybe one day in the future he would trust her again.
But now was not the time for hopes for the future. "I see Mitora's mate has found his way here," she said quietly, knowing it was likely a sensitive subject. "He was lost, so I guided him to the gathering. He's on the shy side, it seemed, though it could be that my reputation precedes me." Anjafey couldn't help but eyeroll at that. "He was eager to find your daughter, though. Perhaps things will work out like them, unlike so many others." Anja knew Amira had disappeared too, and she felt for her friend.

"Oh, that doesn't sound too bad..." Rime was rather distracted, once again, by her own thoughts. This would be an excellent opportunity to meet the rest of the tribe, or whomever actually managed to gather. She hoped she would recognize the one she was looking for, if he was there.
She followed after Aysu quietly, pondering these things. She felt a little off for not showing the same energy that the other fox had shown her, but it was soon lost in her thoughts and footsteps.

"I'm--" before he could get his sentence out, he heard an oh-so-familiar voice and grinned broadly, Vitali turned quickly and sprinted to her as well, tackling her so forecfully that they rolled, Tali coming out on top.
"I missed you," Tali stated simply before giving her a large lick, his tail wagging happily behind him. "Lots and lots." Positively beaming now, he nuzzled her cheek quickly before sliding off her and turning back around, apparently remembering that there were others with them.
Clearing his throat nervously, Tali began again, "I'm Vitali...Mitora's mate?" The last was phrased as a question; had Mitora been able to ask his permission yet?
As much as Thea wanted to speak to Ari about her various mods right then, she knew it was better to be silent, let Ari take in the new information, the new fox.
Not really knowing what else to do, Thea just offered the black fox a small reassuring smile and sat down next to her Elder, wrapping her tail around her feet for warmth. So Mitora had found a mate? Good for her, although Thea couldn't quite convince the odd feeling of...jealousy? out of her heart. Odd.
"Welcome to the Lunarie lands," Thea spoke quietly, then looked up at Ari questioningly, not knowing where they stood on newcomers yet.

Ari watched the two mates reunite, and felt a pang of jealousy. How much longer before he and Kazuki could have their own reunion? He didn't know. Probably a long time. It had to be something big and important if the Moon Fox was sending one of the elders off to take care of it.
Then the newcomer spoke, and Ari realized he had been drifting off. He shook his head--he had to focus. It was up to him to run the tribe for now.
"Welcome, Vitali. I am Ari, one of the elders of this tribe." A pause. "Kazuki, the other, won't be around for a while." He wondered how Thea and Mitora would take that news.
An explanation would have to wait until later, though--he knew Anjafey was still around (her friendship with Kazuki had made Ari far too aware of the vixen's presence), as well as a few others, so the whole story would have to wait until whoever remained in the tribe had gathered.
Fine by him. Meant he could spend more time getting to know Vitali.
Oh. And...
"Do you want to join the Lunarie tribe, Vitali?" he figured it was a yes, but no harm in asking anyway.

((I'll post for Anja when Nati replies. :3)) "Not too bad at all," Aysu agreed, before realizing that Rime wasn't really interested in conversation. Knowing the other vixen was probably too distracted by trying to piece together her memory, Aysu fell into humming to herself until they reached the tribe and Daddy!
Suppressing her happiness at seeing Blue Daddy again, Aysu fell in at his side, then nudged his shoulder to get his attention. "Dad, there's someone here I was hoping you could help," she said quietly. "Her name's Rime, and she was hoping to find someone. A male."

Kavi walked heavily through out of the woods and into the clearing, a distinct limp in his gait. He had followed his father and Piko on their quest, but apparently he wasn't truly meant to be there. A bad storm had sent a huge branch crashing down onto him, leaving him unable to keep up. Unwilling to hold up the mission, Kavi managed to get home.
When he saw no one else, Kavi figured out that everyone must be in the tribe center, and he'd limped on until he got here. Exhausted and ready to sleep for a week, Kavi collapsed down at his sister's side, then whimpered in pain when his leg protested at the awkward landing. Kavi licked at his twinging paw, tired of being in pain. He hardly even took in the others.

"Yes please," Vitali grinned, then managed to smother it into a sheepish half-smile, not wanting to seem too over-eager or not in tune with the Tribe's beliefs.
"So...you're Ari, right?" Vitali sat down and tilted his head slightly at the big blue fox. "Mitora's talked about you a lot," Tali said with a nod, his smile still on his face. He could tell that something about Tora and his finding eachother had upset the Elder, but he couldn't quite place what it could be.
Please, please say that Vitani hadn't met this Elder...
Shaking that thought away with a wry smile, Tali finally noticed two purple foxes near the blue Elder, apparently his children...?
Ah. That'd explain it.
Thea was completely distracted by the collapsing of Kavi by Aysu's feet, hurt.
Frowning to herself, Thea wondered for the umpteenth time where a gatherer or Shaman was, but she knew that even her feeble powers over health would be useful at this point.
"Hello," Thea murmured quietly as she lay down next to Kavi, her head resting near, but not quite touching, the leg he was licking. "What happened?" She paused for a moment, realizing that he might not remember her; after all, he had been very young last time they'd met.
"I'm Thea, a Carer," Thea added, her eyes fixed upon the leg. It didn't look like it was broken, at least, which was good; a broken leg could hold up a fox for weeks, even months if it was bad. It was probably just a bad sprain and some bad bruising.
"You should stay off the leg," Thea said with a soft chuckle, knowing it was obvious. "Just relax, hm?" Thea looked away from the purple fox then, eventually smelling Nato coming. He was Shaman, wasn't he? Thea honestly couldn't remember.
As she hadn't used her gifts in quite a while, it felt foreign for a few moments, but she closed her eyes and focused on the hurt fox before her. She could sense his 'aura', so to speak, as she had been able to when they were merely BCRs. For a few brief moments, she felt his own pain, but she focused on her mind and self overpowering it, smiling slightly to herself when it ebbed to just a dull ache.
It wasn't a permanent fix by any standard, but it would do in a crunch, until he went to sleep and she could find some herbs. "There, now. Just relax and try to sleep, you're home now."
Standing slowly, still careful not to touch him, Thea looked back at Ari, glancing briefly at the young foxes, then back to Ari.
"May I go find Nato? He probably knows which plants would help your son better than I," Thea asked respectfully, her splattered tail twitching slightly behind her.
((Ha...So, I dunno exaaactly what powers Carers have here, but I remember reading somewhere that they have...I dunno. XD I mostly BSed that, if you couldn't tell. -shot- Tell me what she can and can't do and I'll edit it. XD))

((Thea's bit is fine by me :3 ))
Ari was glad to finally see Aysu again. He wasn't sure what his daughter had been up to since the Moon Fox called his family to serve, but she seemed well enough, and that was enough to relieve Ari.
"Hello, Rime, and welcome to the Lunarie Tribe," was all he had managed to say, before Kavi returned, obviously hurt.
"Yes, please go find him, Thea," Ari told her, before taking her place next to Kavi. As an elder, he too had the slight power of healing that a carer did, but he knew Nato was a better healer than he himself could ever hope to be.
"Yes, I am Ari," he told Vitali, just then remembering that he had spoken. Had Vitali said anything else...? Yes, something, but Ari couldn't remember right now.
Was Nato there yet? He couldn't focus on anything, except his son's condition.
"What happened?" Ari asked Kavi, hoping he was at least well enough to reply.

Kavi opened one eye when...Thea, that was it, popped up next to him, looking at the vixen tiredly. He didn't bother to respond for now, he would be sharing the story plenty later if he knew his father. He shut his eyes again and squirmed at the tingling feeling in his leg. Eventually the pain was muted to a throbbing, although Kavi had a feleing it would be back to the earlier pain if he stood up. Lovely.
Now that he could focus on more than just a leg, Kavi noticed Aysu curled up against his back, and he smiled at the tiniest bit. He'd missed his sister who had been left here. He looked up at his father, then, and sighed. "A bad storm," he told him through a yawn. "We were walking theough some wooded area, not here, and a branch fell down onto me. I came back so the others could continue."

The subject of his daughters mate was a touchy subject indeed. Nato was not at all ready to let his little girl grow up. He had been very quick to judge the male and knew that he really should give the boy a chance to prove himself before denying him his daughter. And knowing Mitora as he did, she would do what she wanted and be with Vitali. He might as well learn to accept it that way she'd at least stay in the tribe. Perhaps her mate had come to join, and not just take Mitora from him.
"I'm not sure what to think of him. I don't really know him but I think Mitora is still to young." The dark male said with a huff. Knowing he would have to deal with the situation sooner or later, Nato sighed and looked in the direction of the caves. "Shall we head to the caves then?"
Mitora couldn't help but laugh as they rolled. Vitali was here with her now. She didn't have to leave to go look for him. "I missed you, lot's and lot's too." Mitora said, nuzzling him back before her mate introduced himself to Ari and Thea. She had to resist the urge to bounce up and down as Vitali announced that he would like to join the tribe. Instead, she wrapped her tail around Vitali's and smiled brightly.
Her smiled widened as she noticed Aysu leading a new blue and grey vixen over to Ari. But then it vanished as she noticed Kavi limping and collapse next to his father and sister. He was hurt, that much was obvious. And when someone was hurt, her dad needed to be there. Mitora took off in a mad dash after her fathers scent. Thea had just sat down and started talking to Kavi when she pasted them.
It didn't take her long to find her father, although Anjafey's scent did throw her off a little. "Dad! Caves! Kavi! Hurt! Leg!" she exclaimed between pants. She didn't think the elders son had been hurt terribly bad but it never hurt to work quickly when someone was in pain. "Kavi's at the caves. It looks like he hurt his leg, he was limping pretty badly. Someone's probably coming to find you. I think he needs help but I didn't stay to ask." Mitora clearified once she had caught her breath.
Nato was a bit surprised to see his daughter running at him and Anja. The second he heard "hurt" he knew he was needed. His mind raced, trying to remember where the correct plants for such an occasion grew during the winter months. Unfortunately, since he hadn't seen the injury, he didn't know just exactly which plants were the correct plants yet.
"Alright." He said to Mitora calmly. "Let's go see what's wrong, then we can figure out what to do." With that, he started towards the caves.
((Sorry for taking so long. I tried to leave it where Thea can meet Nato before he got there and give him an assesment lol and I don't know if Mitora ever met Aysu and Kavi or not so I just figured she knew of them lol))

 1. Please ignore the mismatchy banners--don't have access to that font on this computer. ---1b. Please vote in the poll about which banners you want for the front page, so I can know if I should make them up, or ask our lovely Natitsuri to make some, or what. 2. Since this is the first time I'm doing one of these announcements, ignore the length, please bear with me, and read everything, 'kay? 3. As you all know, tribes now have activity requirements. And, as I think you also all know, we've been a bit lax about them last month. Eva is giving us a free pass for February, but I'd love it if we could step it up from now until April 10th! 4. Related to the above, if you have any questions/comments/concerns/outright complaints about the tribe, don't hesitate to bring them to me in a PM! 5. Still somewhat related--I'm hoping to do some small plot-ish things for the tribe, so if you have any ideas for that, PM them over please! (And let me know if you'd be bothered if I took that idea and used it for Gypsy instead :p ) 6. Would you be more interested in a bunch of small plots/prompts, or would you rather have a larger, more overreaching plot? I have a few ideas for both, but again, ideas from you are highly appreciated! 7. Thoughts on your foxes getting a profile in the mule's journal (that would be linked to via the members list on the 1st page of this thread) so it'd be more easy to find out further info about them and help with mate/RP finding? 8. Updated map on the front page~ (I promise I'll fix it up so the main caves don't look like some weird swirly galaxy thing later.) Now, here's what's happening in the tribe (in character):
The winter, while it hasn't been as harsh as some, still seems to have been bad enough to have chased some foxes from their tribes, for all the tribes. Ari is attempting to gather all of the remaining members at the caves, by the lake, to find out who is left.
He already knows that Kazuki, his mate and co-elder, and five of their six children, won't be there, as they have been called on a mission by the Moon Fox, who would not say how long it should last. Ari hopes they will return soon, yet dreads he will never see any of them again...
Yet, despite the loss of some members, new members, and hopeful members have come to the lands! Rime was drawn to the tribe of her own accord, but Vitali came to be with his mate, Mitora (and does he bring the pitter-patter of little paws in his wake...?)
Returning to the tribe lands is Kavi, who, although he went on the mission with the rest of his family, was too badly hurt, and so had to return to the tribelands. His fate is now in Nato's capable paws.
And speaking of Nato, could romance be in the stars for Lunarie's shaman...?

Thea stood up to go get Nato, but there was Mitora, dashing in front of her. Oh well. After an uncertain glance at the Elder and his son, Thea remained standing, her tail flicking gently behind her. So this was the Lunarie Girl that Vitali had been talking so much about...well, she didn't really know either of them that well, sadly (she didn't know anyone that well), so all she could surmise was that they'd be a good match for eachother.
Shaking her head at herself, Thea turned and silently padded out of the forest, letting Ari handle his son; the Elder was more than capable of numbing the pain, probably moreso than Thea herself. She paused as Nato and Mitora passed her, partially glad and partially hurt that they didn't even seem to notice.
Their minds were on other things, she reminded herself with a soft sigh, shaking her head to clear it. Thea went down the path that the father and daughter had just came from, looking around curiously. Had Nato been here alone? No, there was someone else here...
Ah, Anjafey, the other Carer. Thea hesitated, knowing the bad blood between the remaining Lunarie Elder and the vixen here, but then she decided that not only was it not her business, it shouldn't affect how Thea herself interacted with Anjafey.
"Hello," Thea greeted Anja quietly, sitting down. "The meeting seems to be on hold until Ari catches up with his son. Kavi was wounded by a treebranch," Thea wasn't sure if Mitora had gotten that far, so she supplied it just to be on the safe side. "I hope Ari will not let that hinder the discussion for too long, though,"
Since this was more than Thea usually spoke at all, to anyone, Thea decided that it was about time to shut up, so that's what she did. She lay down, white head resting on white paws, her eyes still glancing nervously through the trees, slightly worried that Ari would be upset that she had left; she didn't do well with large groups of people, especially when there was just an uncomfortable silence between them. Moreso than that, though, she was worried that another of the Lunarie Tribe that had been taken away by the Moon Fox would come limping through, unable to be saved.
She shook that thought away, though, and looked back at the purple fox. Her tattoos were pretty, and intricate. Thea liked them, smiling faintly. Still, though, she remained silent, one ear pricked toward Anjafey and one toward the clearing, just in case.
Vitali had the good sense to shut up as a wounded fox came up, paying attention for a little while, but soon he was distracted by the fact that he was here! With Tora!
"So, hi," Tali whispered as Tora came back on the scene, going to her side. He wasn't sure of the protocol in this Tribe, not sure whether he was supposed to bow or stay quiet or leave like Thea had or what. So he just stayed next to her, looking at nothing but his beautiful, beautiful mate.
"Missed you,"

A dark grey and white form flew through the sky, white wings reflecting the pale light of the moon. It was dark now, cold too, but the 'Phim did not mind much. She loved the night as opposed to the day. However she had been flying for most of the day and was rather tired now. Her teal eyes scanned the area beneath her. She saw a large lake beneath her and as she descended, she saw caves near it. It would be a good place to stop.
Selene's form sank lower and lower towards the ground. For a few moments, she flew just inches above the water as she travelled towards banks. She landed easily, taking a few more silent steps from where her paws touched the ground to decrease her momentum. When she came to a stop, she sighed, flipping her curly hair back to its natural position over her right eye.
She sniffed. There were others here.
Her gaze rested on the caves. There was an Elder standing before it. She wondered if she should go ask if she was welcomed to stay for the night or just leave immediately. This was some tribe's territory, so it would be rude to simply intrude without permission. Either way, if they wanted her to leave, she had enough energy in her to fly several more miles. She loved flying.
Selene padded her way over, reaching the caves within a minute or two. Before making herself visible, she flipped her hair back to its natural position over her right eye. She didn't want to look too scruffy in front of an Elder, after all.
"Good evenin,." she finally spoke, bowing her head to the Elder.
