Hello there! I play second chair trumpet in a very small band(28 in all) and I love it! I have a used beat up, tarnished, dented Yamaha and it's name is Dentia, queen of the dents. Haha, but I love "her" I might be getting a new silver trumpet this summer, but I don't know. I've been playing for about three and half or four years now, but still can't very high notes. At least I have fun marching and playing concerts, right?
Well, you can PM me some comments on this, but don't expect me to answer them very quickly. I don't have a computer near me, only about once a month, but oh well. Thanks for reading! ^_^
-Rose
P.s. Trumpets are the best instruments in the whole band besides clarinets and trombones! o.0

I only have one trumpet, but my mom offered to get me a new one whith my choice of what type. Some might think its strange, but I declined and still have my good old trumpet from way back from the summer before 5th grade!!! It's not failed me yet, and I hope to have it for years to come!!

I love my trumpet. I play third chair out of six in a band of around 75 people. I would like a new trumpet but I'd still keep and play my current one. It got me into band so why should I abandon it?

My trumpet is sooo beat up. *rules along side you as the queen of dents* I might be getting a new silver one too. I can only hope that my dad gets me one. Mine is ust so bad, and my band teacher even said he's surprised I get a good sound out of it. >> Do hope you get a new one! Well I'm Kendall....HAII! I'm first trumpet in concert band, and second in Jazz band. Ehm...Yeah.. I have a really beat up trumpet as well, but might get a new one. *can't wait* And uh...Yeah. Been playing for almost two years now, I can hit pretty high notes, it's the low ones that I hate. I don't like to show off, just cause I know someone who does, and he is VERRY annoying.. So anyway...Yay for trumpets/brass! Best section, for shure.

kingcorrupted I am the section leader of the trumpet in my band there are three of us in concert, wo technically because one never plays. But Because of me(even band drector says it) we have actually started to get louder and stronger. Any tips to make a two trumpet section better than a normal trumpet section? Can't really help since our band has 41 trumpets, so we have to play soft and into stands.

I can't say much because we're still trying to get our 6-person trumpet section to sound like a normal trumpet section rolleyes . All I can say is that you can sound good and louder if you play in tune and aim for a similar tone. Thanks ^_^

Thanks ^_^ what i found out is that it doesn't matter how many of you there are if you work together and play at the same lever you could have three trumpets that sound like 30, just practice so when you do shine you know what you are soposed to be playing rolleyes that part i never got down

am 1st chair out of 10 in the 2nd to best band. we have 50 trumpets total 0.o 2nd in jazz band. It feels odd playing top because i am a naturally loud player, and the others don't play so loud. I keep hearing, 2nd and 3rd trumpets, Play Louder!!

I know how being a naturally loud player is. I happen to be one. Every year until this year, I've had to play into my stand to make sure I don't over-balance and even now I manage to over-balance. LOL. Generally I play second and we do get a lot of '2nds and 3rds play louder!' It's really fun when you're playing the right way and everyone even the upperclassmen get told to play like you. xd

I Own One. It's A Rental. It Used To Be An Undented And Shiny Bach, Until This Clarinet Player Was Goofing Off..So I Got Really Angry At Him And Called Him A...You Know, And Almost Threw My Trumpet At Him, Resulting In Two Dent's In The Bell And I Almost Got Into Trouble. I've Gotten The Nickname "Brass Death" In Class Now. sweatdrop It's Kinda Stuck Since...Though Mr. M Doesn't Know About It. The Clarinet Player Got In Trouble Though Because He Thought He Was Throwing My Trumpet. Serve's Him Right For Not Listening. whee

We have this kid at my school and [trumpet player] he plays very well...but he plays too loud and over balences the band, so we all have to tell him to play softer. or for the 2nds, 3rds and 4th parts to play louder than him and i, cause he's 2nd chair and i'm 1st...its great fun i tell you. XDD i find it funny, cause it makes out band director go over the 3 b's constantly. (blend, balence && intonation.) XDD dont ask about the last "b" cause we dont know either so we just say bintonation.
