burn in the darkness of his mind,
brilliant and blinding. He clings
to the images, desperate for a taste
of companionship that has been long
since denied him. He breathes
in the stillness, the emptiness,
the heart-rending solitude that
plagues the barren wasteland
of his life, and chokes, forgotten.
