Arielle resisted the urge to slap him once more. She spun haughtily around, her robes swishing up a small storm in her wake as she angrily stalked out of the room.
She still was unsure where Lin would be--though checking her dorm was now out of the question, since Arielle neither knew what dorm she resided in nor wanted to go back to Ialo to find out.
She headed, then, to first check the library, because it was now facing her.

When the first ray of sunlight fell across the book she was reading, Lin blinked in surprise and looked up at the window that was next to her table in the library. She now was looking at the rising sun, but... when had it gotten to be morning? When had it been night and how had she missed it?!
Lin sighed tiredly, still looking out the window. She had been here for 30+ hours, apparently, and she was still no closer to finding anything to save Dymetri. She felt tears tug at her eyes and she slightly bit her bottom lip to keep from crying. They were probably tears of exhaustion. She refused to believe they were tears of grief and defeat because she had NOT given up yet!
Lin looked back down at her book and continued to read. She hadn't eaten. It was a good thing that even without spring water, elves did not become ill from not eating for a few days, and she still smelled as fresh spring flowers. She was as clean as a human would be fresh out of a shower.
But she was tired. So very tired.

Alec had woken up at a reasonable hour that day. Luckily Tuesday was Alec's lazy day of the week. He didn't have any classes to teach today, so he slept in a bit. Alec had woken up at 10:00 rather than his usual 7:00 and was feeling quite rested because of it. Looking outside Alec saw what a beautiful day it was and couldn't help but sigh slightly. Everyday life just took his breath away when he say back and thought about it.
Alec decided to take a stroll through the school hallways before going outside for a bit. He liked to keep an eye on the assortment of students at MFHS, knowing full well what most of them were capable of. It was on this stroll that he neared the Library, and heard a rather unusual noise. Flustered footsteps and a very elaborate swishing noise that sounded like robes. As far as Alec knew there wasn't a soul in MFHS that would wear something like that, so this piqued Alec's curiosity. He rounded the corner and saw that an extremely elegant woman was standing in front of the Library doors, looking rather agitated over something.
Alec hated to see anyone agitated, particularly pretty women. So he decided to see if he could do anything about it. Alec walked up casually and spoke respectfully to the woman. "Is there a problem? If there is, perhaps I could help?"

Finally! So there was someone sensible at this school! Arielle quickly put a check on her demeanor, smiling at the man. He was probably a teacher, and he seemed to have his head on straight--unlike the Headmaster. "Ah--yes, I suppose you could call it a problem. Do you know Lin Yin?"

Alec frowned slightly when he heard Lin's name. He hadn't had a lot of time to really get to know her or understand her, but from what little he knew it wasn't good. This woman looked to be concerned about her. Her mother perhaps? An aunt? Alec couldn't know. But he still tried to answer the lady as best he could. "Yes actually, she's one of my students. I teach basic spellcasting here. Is something wrong with Lin? She failed to make class yesterday."

"I HATE THIS PLACE!!" Ialo screamed. He grabbed something and threw it - he wasn't sure what it was, but it broke the window and that made him feel a bit better. He doubted anyone would hear him anyways, the office was highly soundproofed.

Arielle nodded at the information. "That, among others, is exactly why I'm worried for her. Do you know where she is?"

Alec shook his head. "Not off hand. Although..." Alec looked over at the large mahogany doors that made up the Library entrance. "If you were to look, this would certainly be the best place to start." Alec opened the large door and held it open for Arielle, allowing her to pass first. "Ladies first." Alec smiled at Arielle, all the while thinking of where Lin would be now. Indeed, why had she been late to class? Alec didn't know Lin terribly well, but she certainly seemed to fit the studious type. Something major would have had to have happened for her to miss classes for an entire day if that was case. Alec became even more worried at these thoughts, but kept his face pleasant for Arielle's sake. She probably knew something was wrong too, but Alec didn't like to make people feel more uncomfortable than they aught to.

Arielle smiled at him, though it did not reach her eyes. "Thank you." She walked through the doors, glancing around to see where Lin might be. The poor girl... Arielle did not know what was happening to her, but it had to be something beyond big.

Alec followed Arielle inside the Library, looking at the massive bookcases stacked up against the walls and set in even columns throughout the room. Alec walked over to Arielle and spoke to her politely once again. "Please, let me help you find her. If she's been gone all day then something bad must have happened."

Alec nodded at Arielle as he looked out over the whole room. He spoke to Arielle without looking at her, not disrespectfully, simply because he was visualizing what would work best. "This shouldn't take long." Alec closed his eyes and held his hands to his mouth. He blew into them slowly, forming a small creature made out of leaves and small twigs form in his hand. It looked like a little dragonfly. The creature shook itself awake in Alec's hand before looking up at it's master. Alec whispered something into the creature's ear, and then tossed it up into the air slightly. The dragonfly beat it's wings and flew off above the bookshelves, darting around quickly. Alec crossed his arms as he waited for his little scout to report back with Lin's location.
Alec looked over at Arielle and made a comment about his small creation. "Shouldn't take long. It's a little trick I picked up a while back."

Arielle nodded at the trick. "It seems quite useful," she commented.

Alec nodded back, noticing that his dragonfly seemed to be bouncing up and down in place. The creature zoomed back to him and buzzed something into his ear. Alec listened, nodding once or twice before he smiled at his creation. "Thank you my friend." The dragonfly flew back into Alec's hand where it seemed to turn into dead plant matter before his eyes. Alec pocketed the matter, deciding to put it outside when he took a stroll later in the day. Alec looked over at Arielle and relayed the information to her. "She's in the back, 3rd study table from the right near the big bay window."
Alec was about to leave, but he stopped himself. He walked up to Arielle and motioned to her hand. "May I?" He asked. Alec took her hand in both of his and shook them gently. "I feel like this doesn't necessarily need to be said, but all the same I'd feel better if I did. Be gentle with her. I haven't had a lot of time to really get to know Lin, but from what I can see she's a very conflicted girl with many things on her mind. Too many things for someone her age." Alec shook Arielle's hand once more before he let it go, turning around, and leaving the Library. There wasn't much else he could do here, so he decided to let Arielle handle it by herself.
But before Alec left the Library he suddenly remembered something. He stopped dead in his tracks and did a 180, calling out to Arielle loud enough to be heard but soft enough to not disturb others in the Library. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name. I'm Alec, by the way."

Arielle smiled brightly at Alec for a brief moment. "Thank you." At his words, she sobered slightly and nodded gently in understanding. Lin had always been rather naive, even though she had her head on straight. It would not surprise her that life here would be so radically different that it could cause her to question the strong beliefs set into her at Bai Ching.
Just as she was about to go forward, she head Alec call back after her. "Pleasure to meet you, Alec. I am Arielle Krause." Then she smiled and walked to where she now knew Lin was.
She found Lin reading a book--which she found surprising considering what Ialo had told her. "Lin?" she asked, softly.
