It depends on how the person acts on a daily basis.
If the person is easily angered, then you can make em angry.
If they are a fragile, you must take a kinda approach, in reminding them of the joys of life.

Or you could take the Tosatsu approach. Tell them they're being an idiot, and explain why. Whatever it is that's got em upset, it's not worth dying over.
What is with people wanting to kill themselves all the time anyways?
"My boyfriend dumped me!" /wrist
"I'm too fat!" /wrist
"I'm hungry!" /wrist
"That guy looked at me funny!" /wrist
Seriously. Suicide is stupid and overdone. No matter what the person may claim, no matter what reasons they might have, suicide is never worth it. It's the coward's way out of a hard life. And life is always hard. If our schools weren't being so politically correct and shielding kids from reality, maybe they wouldn't all be killing themselves the first time something bad happened.

If they are a fragile, you must take a kinda approach, in reminding them of the joys of life. Remind them of the joys of life!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! 8/10 cases that'll just leave them feeling crappier, because they won't be able to recognize those joys in their life or the joys they do recognize seem minuscule in the face of their 'depression' Everyone wants to die these days, seriously, do people not have any backbone? Hinote is quite right regarding schools being PC, like how they want us to understand and accept sex and sexuality, but oh no! We can't have vaguely sexualized images or magazines near the candy section, because then kids will associate candy with porn! But kids aren't the only ones who go to the ******** candy section, the candy isn't there just for them. >_> Suicide is ultimately selfish, because when all is said and done, after the act is done, it doesn't affect you at all, it's everyone else who then has to suffer a pain as great as, sometimes greater or lesser than what the suicidee had.

Unless of course you are religious. Seppuku and Islam aside, most religions don't have good things to say about suicide and the results thereof. And those that do are fairly specialized as far as how you kill yourself.

Hinote Tosatsu Augoeides Suicide is ultimately selfish, because when all is said and done, after the act is done, it doesn't affect you at all, it's everyone else who then has to suffer a pain as great as, sometimes greater or lesser than what the suicidee had. Unless of course you are religious. Seppuku and Islam aside, most religions don't have good things to say about suicide and the results thereof. And those that do are fairly specialized as far as how you kill yourself. Fair point, though I would assume any act of non-ritual suicide holds some degree of atheism in it, especially if you're trying to escape it all and enter a state of 'nihil'

ok... tell your friends not to be stupid and throw away a life... I myself don't value it much... I'd rather have money twisted But that's just because I'm sick and twisted from years of social isolation... anyways, I have a friend that cuts himself to try and die, and I just don't pay attention to it, he litterally cut his arm with a razor infront of me, then he went, got some paper towels, and brought me caramels! he didn't die, and he hasn't tried again.
Also suicide is cool, but you mus do it epically, like brutus's wife in the play Julius ceasar. She had guts, swallowing hot coals, now that is something you could take pride in.

That was one of the stupidest things I have ever read. And I'm going to tell you why. You basically just said, that if I handed you fifty bucks, and stuck a gun in your mouth, you'd let me pull the trigger. Cause hey, I gave you money right? What the hell are you meant to do with money when you're dead?
