A pair of goggles I saw on DeviantArt.
And Treasure Planet, and H.G. Wells, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (and a lady), and strangely enough, Fullmetal Alchemist.

One Girl Anachronism Dresden Dolls. And I've always been a sucker for Steampunk related things.. just.. a lifelong fetish, I guess. x] Nothing quite like a spot of Brechtian Punk Cabaret! (Did they all ever call themselves Brechtian? I'm sure I heard that somewhere... confused Although quite how they are Brechtian I'm not entirely sure, but it's cool so who cares? biggrin ) I've always had a thing for the Victorian era, so I suppose it was something of a natural progression. Like many other people I had no idea what it was called, just that it was cool whatever it was. :p Things didn't really kick off until I stumbled upon Brass Goggles and Arcanum though, which came from a friend. And look at us now eh? surprised

------------------------------ Don't you die on me... You haven't made your peace! A good friend of mine, and the internet. I hadn't realized this, but I guess, like a few others, my first experience with it was Treasure Planet. And the The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen., FMA and the like. And I didn't even know they were SteamPunkish when I watched them. Live life... Breathe, breathe! ------------------------------

For me it was the steampunk thread in Gaia fashion forum! Before I had no idea that it existed. Although I have always loved Verne's books biggrin I also have a fascination with old factories buildings - from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. And I'm into goth music and culture, which is somewhat related. I don't dress in the steampunk style, I have no idea how to do it for normal daily life :/ But I have some love for it. And I'm kind of obsessed with Abney Park smile

The game Syberia started it, and a love of automatons and clockwork toys. Then I went to college and graduated and discovered that what I had been into all along had a name. So here I am. ^_^ heart

The Movie Wild Wild West got me interested back in the day, followed by Sleepy Hollow. But it's only recently that I've taken to dressing up.
I've always been involved with the gothic industrial scene but I find steampunk to be way more layed back and fun compared to others.

My long love of Zeppelins and history mixed with my love for fantasy and Sci-fi. Always especially loved anything that had to do with the industrial revolution and Victorian era in general.
So it's an old love that have only grown deeper over the many many years I have loved this genre.
