" I guess, it'd be like a worm." He paused, "But snakes bite, where worms don't." He said with a smile. "well, We could try, but best not to get to close to one, in case it's a deadly one." he said with a nod. He wasn't sure which one's could kill and which one's couldn't.

At the mention of the word bite, all her thoughts came to a stop. She didn't want to get hurt. "Can it be dangerous if they bite us? Could I die? Could you die?" She still wanted to find one, but at the same time, she didn't want either of them to get hurt.

"It depends on if the snake has any venom. Which, I don't really know which one does or doesn't." He said with a concerned look. "So, if we go looking for them, I'd say not to get too close to them. Only to observe them from a small distance."

She almost pouted, almost. “How can we tell if it is or if it isn’t poisonous?” She was really curious about the snakes. Her paw was just itching to poke one. She sighed. Maybe she was just attracted to adventure.

He wanted to say color of the snake, but he wasn't totally sure. "I don't know. I think the ones that don't try to attack you right away aren't poisonous. " he said. He didn't want to risk it though. Not at all. Especially with a little one with him.

She nodded, storing the information into her brain. “So, can we go find one now?” What if she got to see one without being scared and even go to touch it! She didn’t wait for his nod, and instead walked right passed him. She just hoped she realized what one looked like before she hurt herself.

"Only if you don't try to touch it." He said following her. He was going to have his hands full with this one. "The best place to find them are under things, like rocks, or sticks." He said with a nod. "So you'll have to be careful when lifting things up, sometimes they try to bite before you see them"

Ambrosia nodded and looked gazed at the ground. They were hidden? Now she was really starting to think that this wasn’t a good idea. Taking a couple of steps forward, she side-skipped a rock and stared at it. Looking around her, she noticed a stick that could probably push up a rock. She stared at it, and snatched it from the ground. Seeing that there wasn’t a snake she put it between her front paws. Gulping, she stuck it under the rock and tried to push it up. Her heart was beating so fast that it was all she could hear. When the rock was up, she peered at the dirt and saw…Nothing!
She took ou tth estick and let out the breath she hadn’t notice she was holding and glanced back to Hakim, to see if he had found

Hakim didn't look very hard, but he was more paying attention to Ambrosia. He had to make sure that she didn't find one in case she found something that wasn't safe. "Any luck?" He asked as he picked up a small leaf as if he had been looking the whole time.
"No luck here."

She noticed that he was looking also, and when he asked if she had found any she sighed and answered, “No, not yet. But I will!” She ticked her head to the side, for an idea had just hit her. “I purpose a challenge!” Walking a little closer she looked up at him and continued, “Whoever finds a snake first will be the captain for the rest of the day! The loser will be…not the captain!”

Well, that wasn't hard. He wasn't going to find one. Though, he'd rather make sure she didn't get bit by one. Every time he saw that she wasn't looking he'd watch over her. "Oh? Sounds like I better get looking then?" He said jokingly. He wagged his stubbed tail.

“So you agree?” she said excitedly. Now she was going to search even harder! Holding out her paw she said, “Will you shake on it?” She wanted him to promise, which was what the shake was for, that he would not be the captain when she won. No matter what!

"Sure. Though I think you'd be better captain then I. "He said with a laugh and held out a paw towards her. Since she wanted to shake on it. He'd never had a promise like this. "Though, be careful, you don't want to let it bite you." He said with a fatherly look.

“Okay!” With that, her back was to him and she was searching the ground, poking her stick at any leaf or branch she came across with her stick. After a minute of searching with no results, she heard something rustle among the leaves she hadn’t gotten to yet. Stepping closer to it, she poked with her stick.

He heard the rustling of the leaves that she started to poke. He quickly turned towards her to make sure there was nothing too dangerous there. "Found something?" He asked her now his full attention on the leaves that she had just poked with a stick.
