Hey, nobody seems to have posted since before the seventh book came out! It's been a week since it did as I'm posting this. I personally loved the seventh book, and I would ask what everyone else thought of it, but there are plently of other threads asking that question. So...I'll talk about costumes! For as long as I can remember I've dressed up for the books and movies. Recently, I went to see the fifth movie as a young Lily (I'm sure everyone thought I was Ginny, but oh well.) and I went to a big party for the seventh book as Bellatrix Lestrange. That was a lot of fun.

this thread needs to be revived. Madame Pomfrey! ;=3=
I think Rowling did an incredible job with the final book.. it was written beautifully, but there were a few parts that I think could have been expanded on or even just taken out... like Lupin and Tonks dying, RIGHT AFTER THEY HAVE THE BABY!? crying but seriously.. she did do a really good job.
on another note.. stage one of turning my room into a slytherin dorm is complete. ninja finally have the green up on my walls, and the banner's hanging from my door. 4laugh

I've had the book for almost two months and only finished it the other day. I feel sooooo stupid for it. I cried somewhat when Tonks and Lupin died. That and stupidly cried when Harry died. But snape, omg I sobbed. Voldemort, I am glad he's gone. Somebody needs to help me make a dream avi for slytherin.

I read the seventh book without reading the sixth one and not remembering anything from the fifth one. JKRowling does have a talent for writing, but I believe that she could have done soooo much better on the plot. If you read enough fanfiction, you'll notice that almost everything in the seventh book has been written by fanfic authors before the seventh book came out. By the way, how do you guys feel about the merit of fanfiction, anyways?

I personally didn't dig the epilogue, but the rest of the book I have very little problems with. It was a respectable end to the Harry Potter series.

autumnmist715 By the way, how do you guys feel about the merit of fanfiction, anyways? I honestly like fanfiction if the plots are imaginative and the characterizations are true to the canon, however, there are some fanfiction stories that seem like a two year old wrote them with the amount of grammatical errors that I've seen. I usually spend more time sorting through the crap than reading the stories because fanfiction has been so inundated with unproofread bull. When I find great fanfiction though, it is worth going through the crap.

Well now I know that I'm not the only one! xp It's very annoying trying to find any good fanfics, it's horrible! mad Even if you are not that great of a writer you can at least give in the effort for spelling and grammer checks. I mean come one how lazy can you be if you don't even want to bother clicking that spell check button?? And that's giving the minimal effort.

I was never much a fan of the ending of book 7. That being said, it's not like it can be changed, so it's no use fussing, I just have to accept that someone with the name Scorpius was brought into the world, and his father has a receding hairline. I often look back on the time when I was most entranced by HP, and wish I could be that enthralled again. Book 4 was when it all really peaked for me, everything since was fun but somehow felt maybe a bit disconnected. Book 7 especially. I think a few years of it sinking in and maybe I'll come to grips with it all.

Did anyone notice that the sixth book read like fanfiction? I swear I knew everything that was going to happen before I finished the book. The seventh book was great, I just wish there was a little more of how everyone ended up. There were some unanswered questions that I had.
