i think that it's something you do to try and stop thinking about your emotional pain, but it doesn't solve anything. Just don't do it is the best advice.

I'm sittin' here with a knife by my bed, with little white lines across my wrist. I'm such a coward. And thoughts like that make me want to cut even more. And I get closer... and I can't. Maybe someday my pure cowardness and unusefullness will overpower my fear of pain/death.
