Rowan was rather tense as he watched things unfold, unsure what to do, or how he could possibly help the situation. Whatever he could have thought of, to try to help Kurt, he'd already done by this point, and anything beyond was well outside of his wheelhouse. He clutched the hem of his sweater a bit, as he watched Michelet confront Trinity, who... seemed very different from what he was accustomed to. It was more than a little alarming, seeing how different a person could be when he was so used to seeing only particular sides of them. It had been the same with Blaise, before, and with Kurt today. Now, it was Trinity. He had no idea what to make of it, but could only chalk it up to the events of the formal sending everyone who hadn't died during it for a loop.

For a moment, he thought about trying to stop Michelet, but he stayed still in his chair. It was only when Kurt went after him, pleading for him to stop, that Rowan finally moved, gingerly heading after Kurt, but ultimately unable to stop him, either. Instead, Rowan stood just a few steps behind Kurt, and shifted a bit awkwardly, trying to work out what exactly to do. Would Trinity actually believe that Kurt had urged Michelet to confront her? He hoped not. He didn't want Trinity and Michelet to develop more unnecessary conflict between them, especially not now that Michelet and Kurt were actually starting to see eye to eye a little.

Although Trinity's words were directed at Kurt, the way that she spoke them had Rowan feeling just as frozen in place. He watched her, periodically looking to Kurt, and then back again. Even if Kurt had been the one to break things off, at least according to what Trinity was saying now, he seemed so utterly broken by it. Did she mean the things she said to him? Or, was she saying it all from a place of hurt? Ever the optimist, Rowan wanted to believe that it was simply her own way of coping with everything. Perhaps her heart was just as shattered as Kurt's seemed to be. He really wasn't that good at discerning emotions like these, though. Maybe it wasn't a lie. Michelet seemed to think that she didn't mean it, that she was lying just to hurt Kurt. The bokor had words for both of them, in fact. Rowan chose to believe that was the case, too. That she was lying.

He stepped a little closer, as Michelet offered Kurt the flask, and thought to ask about Kurt, now that all was said and done. Trinity was gone now, carried off by whoever the guy was that had her in his arms now. It left the three of them, and whoever else might have been nearby, watching things unfold. The laughter that soon erupted from Kurt, making him seem almost manic, got the plant witch looking more concerned, and he eyed Michelet, from a couple of steps behind Kurt, silently questioning. He wasn't entirely sure how he felt about the alcohol... not so much that Michelet gave it to him, but rather, how carelessly he seemed to have guzzled it down... but he said nothing of it, instead curious about this epiphany that the Duke seemed to have had. "More clearly?" he asked, a bit tentatively, hoping Kurt might elaborate. Asking if Kurt was okay was absolutely out of the question now. Even if the drink seemed to have calmed him (?), he couldn't possibly have felt 'okay' after all of that, even if he pretended to be so. Whatever he felt now, Rowan couldn't guess, and didn't dare try.

He then seemed to become more aware, now, of the other people around the cafeteria. Whether or not they were still watching, now that things seemed to have died, or still had their attention on the Duke... likely, given his mad laughter a moment ago... he was afraid to look. It certainly felt like they had attention on them. Normally it wouldn't have bothered Rowan, but considering what had just transpired, he wondered if it might be better for them to head elsewhere to talk. He might have suggested finishing their breakfast, but he'd somewhat lost his appetite. Maybe Kurt needed to talk to professor Houlihan too, at the very least to make sure that he would be okay. Rowan found, however, that he couldn't bring himself to suggest it, instead staying quiet, watching Kurt while Kurt had his attention fixed on Michelet.

Kurt drank deeply of the rum and Michelet was not inclined to stop him. The man needed a balm for his frayed and raw emotions, even if it was only a temporary one. Rowan looked to him with worry when the duke began to laugh, the plant witch’s eyes asking questions that were difficult to answer. Still, Michelet lifted a hand, palm down, in a calming gesture. There was no need for Rowan to get upset. The duke was hurting, worse than he had been before, but so far at least Michelet did not think he was a danger to himself or anyone else. The rest they could play by ear.

Michelet mulled over the situation as he tucked away his much emptier flask. Kurt thought he saw more clearly now, did he? If nothing else, Michelet had to say that Trinity was very effective with her cutting words. Too effective. He might have to reconsider whether Kurt was a danger to himself after all. Kurt had leveled an icy gaze at him, but when no vitriol was forthcoming, Michelet had thoughts of his own to share.

”You see what she want you to. She lash out now; you hurt her so she wan’ hurt you jes as bad. Easier bein’ angry den hurt; Ah would know. Easier lie about what she feel den admit you de only one can reach her like dat.” It had been easier for him to be angry with Kurt as well and he didn’t even like the man at the time, let alone love him. He didn’t want the snide blond to see that his comments even had the power to cut. He was much too proud for that, and that was a trait he seemed to share with Trinity and the duke both. He couldn’t even imagine how much more painful a careless word could be from the love of his life. ”But you don’ wan’ hear dat right now. Iz fine. We gon’ tawk about dis, but it don’ gotta be now. Right now… you wan’ get outta here or what?”

Michelet paid little mind to the looks they received, he was used to being stared at anyway. But he was worried about the duke. That was still a damned strange feeling to have, but he had it. He was worried about Trinity too, but that was out of his hands for now. Getting Kurt away from the public eye and somewhere he could metaphorically let his hair down seemed like a good idea. As far as his abandoned breakfast, well… he could always wrap his bacon in a slice of eggy bread to munch on while they walked. He didn’t care all that much about table manners. He didn’t even have to ask to know that Rowan wouldn’t hesitate to follow them out for Kurt’s sake. But where on this damned campus could the man even go to hide from his own head where Trinity’s words were sure to still be lingering?

Kurt's gaze broke from Michelet as Rowan questioned his words. An empty stare meeting the timid boy, but there was no words to make them understand. At least none that Kurt could muster. Instead he looked to the door and beyond. He should shout, he should scream, he should cry. But he couldn't. It would only be weeping for his own unworthy self.

Michelet had his own thoughts, but Kurt didn't shift his gaze back to him. “You are not wrong that I hurt her. My very existence has marred her with wounds for far too long, and I am afraid I must atone for that. Tri-” He spoke steady and calm, but the name still caught in this throat, forcing him to swallow hard before continuing. “Miss Blake only speaks of what I deserve. The only lies here are the ones I told myself.” After all, a part of him knew this all along didn't it? Instead he held onto the fantasy that he brainwashed himself with till it tore them both apart at the seams. How foolish and vile he was.

Turning to face them again, he shook his head briefly. “No, please stay. Finish your meal.” Crossing his hand over his heart he gave a respectful bow to the pair. “You have both given me far more time and kindness than I have claim to, and I do not wish to be a burden on you... or anyone else... any longer. I thank you both, and wish you the best fortune in your future.” There was an uncomfortable regret in his tone. He had hoped to make amends with Michelet and to return the favor of kindness to Rowan, but what use was that really? No doubt he would only end up a liability, selfishly taking and unable to give. That seemed to be the only thing he was capable of.

Raising his head from the solemn bow he levelled onto Michelet again, a broken smile tugging on his lips. “Please express my apologies to Miss Penny, my shame in being unable to protect her as I should have.” He could not deny there was a pain in not being able to see the sweet polite girl again... But he felt like a poison, corrupting the very air around him. Harming the pure innocence of Miss Penny would not be the last thing he did in this world, he could save her from that at least.

With that said his crooked smile faded till a dark serenity emanated from him. “Rowan, Michelet... Thank you and goodbye.” Lowering his head he turned and walked out the crowded cafeteria and towards the stairwell. A grim peace urged his steps along, one after another. Confident in that he was finally doing something right.

Rowan stood very still, as he listened to Michelet offer his thoughts, and then to Kurt's reply. Wounds to a person's heart, and to their emotions, were probably the most difficult sort to heal. At least, that was what his brother Garrett had said before. There were people out in the world who had magic that could mend broken bones, close up lacerations, counter poisons, or purge a body of illnesses. When it came to things like this, though? Was there any sort of magic out in the world that could help Kurt with this sort of hurt? And Trinity, too. Michelet claimed that she spoke from a place of hurt, that she was lying about what she said. Something about that was a bit comforting, knowing that the face she'd just shown might just be some kind of a mask, to hide that she was as defeated as Kurt had seemed.

He wanted to speak up, but for a moment, he was still finding it hard, to work out what to say. He started to shift around where he stood, as Kurt bid them both goodbye and made his way out of the cafeteria, and it was only once he'd made it through the doorway that Rowan looked to Michelet, the worry evident on his face. "Michelet, he... I'm really worried about him. He's really not doing well." His voice was very quiet. He doubted he needed to say it. Michelet, he was sure, knew even better than he did that Kurt was not in a good state, even if the Duke did seem to have calmed down. Would Kurt start to do what Eliza had been doing lately? Keeping everyone away? He was already worried about her. He didn't want Kurt to end up in the same place, holed up alone and shutting out any attempts by others to be a support for him. Eliza, he'd hoped, just needed time still to process what all had gone on at the formal, and eventually they'd have to figure out how to get to her. If he could help it, he wanted to keep Kurt from falling into that sort of place, too.

He's had a few bites of his breakfast, and if he wanted to eat more later, he could come back to the cafeteria, or get snacks in their room. For now, he gestured off toward the door that Kurt had disappeared through, now looking more determined and intent to try to help, before heading off to catch up to Kurt. He was confident that he wouldn't be alone in his efforts, either, very certain that Michelet wanted to help Kurt just as much.

"Kurt, wait!" he said, perhaps the loudest he'd spoken so far that morning, as he caught the Duke by the arm. "You shouldn't talk like that." he stated, fixing Kurt with a look that one might give when scolding a child. "Penny is your friend. You shouldn't feel bad that somebody else saved her. You should be glad that was saved and that she's okay, just like she's glad that you're okay. And it's not just her, either. Noah helped me look after you when we got you back, and you were hurt. He's glad that you're alright too, and so are we." His voice shook just a little, almost giving the impression that he might succumb to emotion and cry, but for now, he didn't. Even with the shaking, he kept his voice pretty steady and firm, and kept his gaze fixed on Kurt's face, whether the Duke chose to look back at him or not. "And you shouldn't feel like you deserve some sort of punishment for falling out with Trinity. You're both already hurting. It's okay to hurt, and to feel really sad. People need to feel sad sometimes. You also need to let yourself heal, even if it takes a lot of time."

He kept his hold on Kurt's arm, and by now, his eyes were a little shiny, but still he didn't let himself get overly emotional, determined instead to remain composed. After a brief pause, he gave Kurt's arm a tug, and pulled him into a tight hug. "You aren't a burden, either." he added, voice a little more quiet now. "Don't let other people make you think that you're a bad person for feeling sad, or for making mistakes, and don't let those mistakes make you feel like the whole world's just going to crumble. You've got people who care about you, and who want to help you heal. People who'll give you all the time and kindness that you need, for no reason at all, other than just because they want you to be okay." He mused a bit, to himself, that maybe it was just how he was raised. No matter what sort of problem he encountered, growing up, it was always hard to be sad or hurt, at least not for very long, because he always had multiple siblings going out of their way to try to cheer him up again. That, he thought, was what Kurt needed. Trinity Blake wasn't the whole world, and Kurt needed to be reminded that there were other people around him, who did in fact care about him and whether or not he was happy. Rowan refused to let him wander away to sulk all by himself, and dwell on things he didn't need to be dwelling on.

"I don't care what you think, as long as it's about me. The best of us can find happiness, in misery..."
    ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗

While her eyes remained transfixed on the ceiling, her lips twitched a bit at the stumbling in Lexi’s words. Usually, she would have become annoyed by such a thing. Irritated by the individual she was speaking with. Going so far as to snap or bully them into getting to the damn point. With the semi-clad she-wolf before her, however, Callie found it to be rather adorable. She liked knowing that she flustered the other female. Made her feel better about her own fluttering emotions.

The rest of her words, however, had the Alpha feeling a little odd. New and exciting, she would agree with Lexi on. But different? Had the other she-wolf never been in a relationship before? Or perhaps she’d never been with someone that gave her so much attention? The questions continued to race through her head as she listened to her companion, her eyes shifting down at the sound of the blankets moving on the bed. With her covered, the heat within Callie relaxed and she was able to finally look upon the object of her most recent desire. She did her best not to stare and nodded her head in understanding.

”Hmm, it seems we are in agreement then.” Leaving it at that, she moved to sit on the bed beside Lexi. Callie made sure she left a bit of space between them, linking her fingers together in her lap as she relaxed back against the wall. After what had happened, and the sobering effects of watching people she knew die around her, she wasn’t sure what all was okay. Where the line was between the two of them. Which was stupid, right? They’d already pushed the limit pretty far, but now that things were settled it felt…odd. Not sure what to think, she did her best to remain at ease and arched a brow at the rest of Lexi’s words.

”Why would that be selfish of you? Lexi, the ball was an absolute bloodbath. You were hurt. Hell, you’re still hurt.” As she spoke, she motioned towards the injury that gave her flashbacks of the dance. The crunch of bone, the sound of Lexi’s yell in pain, the madness of everyone around them. And blood. So. Much. Blood. Her body shuddered at the memory, her eyes closing for a moment to try and get herself back under control. She was the Alpha here. She needed to be strong. Forcing herself to breathe through it, Callie smiled a bit and gave into the urge to reach out. She linked her fingers with Lexi’s and tried her best to put a smile on her lips.

”I’m here because I want to be. Like I said, I care about you. And I stick by those I care about.” With her eyes still on Lexi’s features, she shifted a bit to set her free hand on the she-wolf’s cheek. She kept her touch gentle as she attempted to draw the other female’s attention towards her and not the ground. Once she had, Callie would lean in and brush a soft kiss over her lips. ”So, I want you to relax. Take it easy. And let me stress over things. Your one and only job is to heal. Okay?” She hoped that Lexi took her words to heart and that she didn’t come off as smothering as she had been. It was bad enough that she’d already shown herself capable of such things. She really didn’t want to make a habit of it.

Michelet shook his head and bit back a sigh. He was definitely right about one thing, it was no time to talk to Kurt about what had just happened. He wasn’t ready to heal a hurt this fresh yet. Instead, he would just rip the wound open wider himself, hurting himself more deeply. Kurt was punishing himself just as much as Trinity wanted to punish him. And maybe he did deserve it a little, but this was too much. This was dangerous. Michelet wanted to shake the man, but he had a feeling that would only make things worse. Still, he couldn’t just leave things as they were, could he?

There was no way he could just stick around in the cafeteria eating his meal while the duke wandered off. Michelet may not have been the warmest person in the world, but he couldn’t just let this man be alone when he felt he had nothing to live for. Kurtis’ farewell sounded entirely too final for his liking and a frown tugged at Michelet’s lips as he listened. ”Ain’t it up to us we wan’ be kind t’you? You no burden on us.” Words didn’t feel like enough. Strange how words could cut so easily, but could not mend what was broken. But what did he have to offer besides his words?

How could he apologize to Miss Penny for a thing like that? There was no way that sweet girl was even angry about it. If anything, she would be just as worried about Kurtis as he was and probably a lot better at expressing it. What would she say, if she was here right in the moment? What would she do? What would his maman have done? She was always so warm and open and others opened up to her so easily but Michelet had never been able to elicit the same response. In part because he was bokor, of course, but he doubted his demeanor was any help.

Rowan found his voice once Kurt had walked away, but Michelet already knew what he would say. He was worried, and he should be. Michelet lifted a hand to give Rowan an encouraging pat on the back. ”We go get ‘im.” That much it felt obvious they agreed on; they both wanted to help Kurtis and now he needed it more than ever. There was no way he got to just walk off alone after all but speaking his suicide letter aloud. Rowan was already on his way out of the door and Michelet was hot on his heels. But what could they say that they hadn’t already?

Thank the loa for Rowan, who had plenty to say this time around. Under other circumstances Michelet may have smiled to see him actually scolding the duke, his sweet face looking serious and stern for once. It was an expression Michelet was pretty certain he had only ever seen Rowan use once before on Blaise. Michelet let Rowan speak, thinking perhaps he was better suited to it. He was kinder than Michelet; maybe the words would mean more coming from him.

Somehow he honestly didn’t expect the hug, but it was so fitting from Rowan. It was so easy for him to express his care for other people. Michelet couldn’t have even imagined just hugging the duke and wasn’t sure the man would even accept it. But maybe it was more important to show Kurt that someone cared than it was to stay in the lane of what had already been deemed acceptable between the two of them. Maybe this was what Miss Penny would do, if she could. Michelet stepped up behind Kurtis and wrapped arms around him and Rowan both.

”Lissen. Iz hard, knowin’ you let down de pipple dat matter. I know how it feel, too. You see Rowan arm; das on me. Ah no leave well ‘nough alone when I should. But look at him; he no mad. Jes’ happy we bot’ okay. You really tink Mizz Penny be mad at you for sumtin’ like dat? Cause I tink she be way more upset anyting bad happen to her fren. You tink about dat, fore you do anyting she goan cry ovah. Ah’m no gon’ ‘pologize; you kin tell her youself ovah tea t’morrow and de day aftah dat and de day aftah dat, too. You don’ get it yet, mebbe you kin no understand ‘cause you wan’ so much more from youself, but Ah’m jes’ glad you was dere. Mizz Penny was no alone. She had a fren at her side. Tek it from sumbuddy can still count his fren on one hand, dat kin mean evertin’. So don’ tek for granted what you mean to you frens. You got more kindness t’claim den you know. LOCATION|| In the cafeteria - In the hall - Outside XXXXCOMPANY|| Luke. XXXXMOOD|| Hungry….

Pleased with how things had turned out, Trin turned away from the bokor and the Duke and fit herself to Luke’s side. His instant response to her question put a grin back on her lips and had her resting her head on his arm as she leaned on him to keep the weight off her leg. She opened her mouth to give him a destination before Michelet’s words drifted through her head. The statements he tossed at her silenced her for a moment and had her looking back, her eyes dark and full of the pain that still lingered in her heart. It was only for a moment, long enough for him to see before she turned back to give Luke her full attention. She didn’t want to be careful. She wanted to be wild and impulsive, all the things she’d forced herself not to be throughout her entire life. And Luke was the perfect person to help her with that.

Once they were outside of the cafeteria, the high from Kurt’s emotions began to fade and had her itching to get back to what the damn blonde had interrupted. The arm wrapped around Luke’s waist moved enough to allow her hand to slip beneath the bottom of his shirt, her fingers stroking over the skin beneath to give her back the buzz he had started. His words barely registered in her head as she used his energy to keep her grief away, riding the wave of desire that she was hoping to keep pumping into his body. The longer she kept him under her spell, the better the end result would be. Or so she told herself as she smiled brightly up at him.

”Let’s not talk about Kurtis. He’s my past. You’re my present. I’d rather focus on that.” Leaving it at that, she looked around the hall they were in and shot daggers at the passing students that were eyeing them. Let them whisper. Let them stare. She wasn’t Kurtis Rathmore’s property. She was her own woman. If she wanted to hang out with Luke and spend her time in his arms, then so be it. Who were they to judge her? It wasn’t like she was mounting him in the hallway or something! Not that the thought wasn’t appealing, she mused as Luke’s voice once more drifted into her head.

”They won’t be a problem anymore.” With a certainty to her voice, she smiled sweetly once more. Kurt was too broken to chase her, and Michelet wasn’t the type. Rowan might have, if he had been close enough to hear her, but he’d missed out. They were safe to go about their business without the Duke and his dogs bothering them. Besides, even if they did, she’d handle them. The Duke had no powers that could match her own, Rowan wouldn’t fight her, and Michelet, well, he’d need a good enough reason. Her barriers would keep them away and stop the bokor from fighting back. Win-win. His mention of going somewhere scattered her thoughts and sent her mind racing in a new direction. She contemplated over where they could go where she could get what she wanted from him without an audience. At least not one that would rat her out to the Headmistress.

”Let’s get out of here and go for a drive. I am still starving, after all. I’d love to sink my teeth in a juicy, thick piece of meat. Think you can help a girl out?” While she knew she was laying it on pretty thick, she didn’t think he’d mind. He was a guy, after all. And while he was a little slow, thanks to her powers, he wasn’t so dumb not to pick up on her hint. Or so she hoped as he led the way out of the hall and back into the sunlight.

Izzy laughed openly at the meek girl's comment on learning some of her 'jackassery'. It was hilarious to hear her own crass words from someone appearing so mild mannered. “Well if you ever want a lesson in Jackassery 101 you know who to call.” She thumbed her chest with one hand while strumming the open strings with the other to punctuate before continuing to plink a few melodic notes.

“Pfft, you're never too young to sleep for an eternity. I swear if I didn't have such an obnoxious room mate I probably would have slept through my entire freshman year, maybe even through to graduation. Heheh” This wasn't much of an exaggeration, Izzy liked to sleep a lot more than many other vampires she knew. It felt as though if she didn't get at least 18 hours sleep a day she was always hungry instead. She wondered if Luna had a similar relationship between rest and feeding.

Luna's bright laugh and sudden fumble brought a coy smirk to Izzy's face, “Heh, alright. I'll agree to keep swearing up a ******** storm if you agree to stop second guessing yourself. I'd rather get to know you than the you that's weary of how I would react.” Raising a cheeky brow and mischievous grin, she turned the phrase back on her companion. Hoping that it would allow the pair of them to relax a little, “Deal?”

What Luna said next surprised her though, enough that her finger slipped and plucked an off key note that cut off the previously relaxed melody. Care about her? She met the deep red gaze with her own worn eyes like a deer in headlights, staring through the curtain of white silk wisps of hair. She couldn't say no, she didn't want to say no, the poor girl clearly needed a friend, a connection, something... But that was harder to accept for Izzy than she realised.

Thankfully she had a moment to breathe when Luna broke away from a grumbling hunger. Snapping out of it, Izzy blinked and steadied herself before slipping the guitar from her knee. Leaning it onto the sofa next to her, she stuck her hand into her inner jacket pocket. “Here.” Pulling out the blood pack she stashed from Lexi's she half tossed it into the girls lap. There was a bit of a hunger in Izzy but if Luna hadn't fed all weekend she definitely needed it more. Besides Izzy was sure she still had a couple back in her room she could grab later on.

After taking the moment to calm she leaned back in the couch and threw both her arms over the back. “I won't stop you caring about me though...” She tilted her head back to look up at the ceiling. Izzy usually avoided the fuzzy feelings talk, it was too easy for people to take advantage of, something she knew from experience. Luna though was so docile it felt somewhat easier. “And I guess that means I care about you too then.” With a half smile she shrugged, “If that's not too weird to say.” Again she turned Luna's words back and glanced over to her with a cheeky smirk and wink. “Cause I think you're okay too, Lu.”

Luke was happy with dropping the subject. Especially feeling the little touches from Trinity. It was more than enough to get him to go on autopilot, not thinking about a damn thing, or any consequences. He didn't really wanna go getting all involved in peoples' weird Jerry Springer s**t, and thankfully, Trinity was eager to get her mind off of things, rather than put him in some situation where he had to deal with feelings or something. If she were some kind of broken, sobbing mess, he'd... yeah, he'd be noping out of that scenario as fast as he could. He was probably the worst person imaginable at dealing with other people being overly emotional, or dealing with weird complicated drama. ******** that. Getting her mind off of stuff with some fun, though? He could handle that, no problem.

"Pretty sure I can help with that, yeah." he replied, oddly quiet. It was kinda weird, to suddenly be in this particular situation, taking Trinity Blake along with him to his car. Not something he expected to be happening today, when he got out of bed that morning and wondered for a moment how the day was gonna go. It was unexpected, but far from unwelcome. Rather, it gave him an excited sort of feeling. A similar sort of rush to when he went getting up to other kinds of mischief. After all the bullshit that went on at the formal, that he'd only even been involved in because he'd done what he was expected and told to do, it was a good time for some freedom, and some probably stupid choices. The witch side of his family would be incredibly pissed at him, and absolutely disapprove, were they to know what he was up to that very moment, but that just made it more fun. Sure, there would maybe be some consequences later on, but he could burn that bridge when he got to it.

He helped Trinity along to the school parking lot, careful with her for her injury's sake, but once they were settled, he got the heat turned on to help ward off the chill. "For once, I actually kinda like the sun being out." he said with a grin, as he opened up the glovebox to pull out a pair of his shades, offering another to Trinity. He had a tendency to hoard them, and aside from the glovebox, had a few other pairs stashed in other places. He then plugged his phone in, pulled up his music, and offered the phone to her to pick something if she wanted. There were a lot of different artists and several playlists, most with humorous titles, but the vast majority of it was some flavor or other of rock. He, meanwhile, gladly tore the bronco out of the parking lot, and a little faster than he should have, went speeding away from campus. At one point, just for the fun of it, he made the vehicle do some swerves back and forth down the longer stretch of road, while there was nobody else on it.

"Let's see... what sounds kinda good right now?" He knew what actually sounded good, but he was keeping that off his brain, even if she was making it really easy to think it. Trinity hadn't eaten yet, thanks in no small part to the Jerry Springer bullshit popping up in the cafeteria. It was still probably breakfast-ish time, technically, but it was also late enough in the morning to be lunch time too, depending on tastes or whatever. "I kinda forget what all is around here. Uhh... oh! I know a good spot. Give it a couple minutes." He seemed happy with whatever decision he'd made in his head. He had no idea if Trinity would be up for it, but it was worth a shot. If it wasn't her jam, they could drive around a little more to figure it out.

"Have you been to that place there?" he asked, once they'd come far enough that the familiar burger sign was visible up ahead of them, now stopped briefly at a red light. He was leaning a little over the steering wheel, leg bouncing as he waited impatiently for the light to change. "I been there a few times, out hanging out with people. They got pretty good food, I think. Oh, and they're 24 hour! It'd be a pretty good place to drop in if you were high or smashed at 2am. Oh yeah, and they got jalapeno poppers. I ********' love jalapeno poppers." What else was good? Burger and fries... burger and onion rings... chicken strips and fries... milkshake! Girls liked milkshakes, usually, right? And mozzarella sticks. "Whatcha think? Or you want something more like typical breakfast kinda food? My treat, by the way, since you're bein' sweet enough to come out here with me."

        𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 → drivin' off campus
        𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺 → Trinity
𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴I'm cool with this, hell yeah

Location: Library ➤Company: Sophie, Anya ➤Mood/Thoughts: What's their motive?

Silias glanced over to Sophie a little flustered. “Honestly I kind of figured there was someone behind it, it's not everyday that a random portal and demo-dogs decide to wreak havoc on a random university. I just needed something to back it up.reasonable doubt and all.” Silias leaned back, crossed his arms, and stared up and out. He racked his brain for anyone who possibly looked suspicious during the night or someone with the right motivation and capabilities to think of and execute an indirect mass murder. Though Silias didn’t know many people on campus, he wasn’t exactly a shy critter. Over his time here he had struck up enough conversations with random people to get a good sense of them. But he was human and fallible. Finding the culprit wouldn’t be easy, nothing in life was easy.

But it was at what Sophie said that forced a deep sign from him. “I know… I know that I’m probably not the best person to be investigating this.” He said uncharacteristically serious. “But that doesn’t mean I wont try. People I care about were affected by this, so many people I don’t even know are injured, dead, traumatised…” He let the words trail away, losing the energy to defend his actions. He was human, weak and brittle… a liability. He just wanted to be useful in the only way he knew.

Silias shifted resting his elbow on the the table, head in hand. He wrote down what he knew in swirling scripts. “Like a back door? That certainly is a possibility. We would need to figure out what these defences are in order to work backwards from there. There might also be some weaknesses that could have been exploited,” he replied to Anya’s mumbling.

Hounds
Bite = non venomous but can cause infection.
Roam in groups called gangs.
Ambush together - work individually.
Ambush strategy - break up, disorientate, scatter after killing.

Portals
Don’t appear on their own, need to be activated by someone.

Other details
School has magical defences surrounding the grounds.
Culprit would need to have at least some knowledge on how to circumvent them.
Possible inside jo…

Silias’s head snapped up. His pencil hovered over the forgotten words. He nodded slowly, feeling uneasy about Sophie's tone. This had no chance of ending well. “Ok,” He replied steadily, knowing that at the end of the day, even with his unease, he would rather have a testy vampire at his back than the empty rush of air.

Anya looked at Sophie with a hurt and confused look. Are they together? he wondered, but quickly shook off the thought. That wasn’t his business. Silias twirled the pencil in dizzying loops. Did he know the ‘Saint-Germain girl’? The name sounded familiar but he couldn’t quite put a face to the name.

“I will acknowledge that you are strong. Because… you are someone that knows the same pain of loneliness that I do. And… that pain makes a person stronger.”

“Eternity sounds fun. I wonder if we’d suddenly wake up wise by the end of it. Would I know all the secrets of this universe? Or be stunted at this age? That wouldn’t end well for anyone involved.” Though Izzy stayed in the dorm beside her she wasn’t entirely sure who her roommate was. Granted she’d only been at the school for a week and two of those days she had been locked up in her own room. “Who’s your roommate? Sounds like they would make life pretty entertaining though.” She wondered where her own roommate’s satchel was at this moment. Was it lost in the depths of the forest? Picked up by staff when they did the sweep? Or shredded to bits by those demonic dogs? Yanis did seem quite attached to the thing. Luna made mental note to get another one [i[exactly like it

“Deal!” she laughed wholeheartedly when the words she had spoken only minutes before were launched back at her. “Besides… I think I need to learn to not… be so guarded around others. It’s not as if everyone in the world is out to get me. Just my…” Her voice trailed. Flashes of blood, pain, and utter helplessness played in the back of her eyes like a movie made simply for her own torture. Her eyes didn’t see anything else but those horrid memories. Luna took in a startled breath, unsure of when it had stopped in the first place. She scrunched her eyes and shook her head blocking out and scattering the remains of her memories.

When her breath steadied, Luna looked over to Izzy and gave a weak laugh that was more of an exhalation than anything remotely happy. “Sorry… and… Thank you.” She lifted up the blood pack, its contents sloshing about, to indicate what she was talking about. She opened it with shaking hands, the memories had left a residual coat on her like slime she had to struggle to wade through. It took her a couple of attempts to get the thing open, but when the cool viscous liquid hit her tongue she let the muscles in her shoulders relax. Luna took a couple of sips abating her hunger. There was still more than half left, when she held out the pack back to Izzy. “I’m sure you’re a little hungry too.” Her smile was brighter now that she wasn’t shaking anymore.

Luna’s hand faltered. She cared about me too? The concept seemed so far-fetched that Luna wondered if her eardrums had somehow short circuited in the last couple of seconds. “You-uh-I-uh-what…. You… You… Y… care…” Luna stuttered. That wasn’t possible no one did, no one does… or at least not until now. She let her eyes dart around the room unsure of what to say or do. This was entirly new territory, one that she had no idea how to tread. When Luna’s eyes went back to Izzy, she was startled to see the girl looking back at her, a cheeky smile on her face, and words tumbling out that made every drop of blood she had just drank rush. Luna’s entire face was lit up like one big red-nosed reindeer. No one had ever said that about her, no one had ever even given her a nickname. “Lu?” She smiled, shy and genuine. “Thank you,” she whispered.

“Say… What do you think about starting lesson 1 of Jackassery 101 on the way to breakfast?” Luna wasn’t particularly sure if the girl ate anything other than blood. Some vampire chose to remain in the exclusivity of it all, but then there were others that just wanted to fit it like her. She didn’t particularly like anything the other supernaturals ate, but she did have a tooth for red meat. Though it was much too early for that, croissants with a side of blood would have to do.

“I just need to grab the crutch from my room. I don’t want to slow you down without it.” Luna gave her a small smile, a little embarrassed about the hindrance.

Kurt barely got to the end of the hallway when his name was practically bellowed by the meek Rowan. He looked back for a moment with a tired expression, before continuing on a few more steps. Why were they following him? Didn't he release them of their moral responsibility to him? Burdening them further was what he was trying to avoid, so he kept walking in hopes they would give up.

This didn't happen though as a hand suddenly grabbed onto his arm. He turned to respond with a dull half-hearted apology, but on seeing the usually sweet Rowan looking so stern and disappointed in him, the words caught in his throat. All he could do was look away to hang his head in shame and listen to the lecture. It all gave him a twisted feeling of guilt as none of it sunk in. He wanted to talk back to Rowan, tell him that he didn't understand, but even he could see how wrong and selfish that was. So he left his distant gaze on the floor ahead and kept solemnly quiet. It wasn't until he was suddenly pulled down into a hug he managed to turn back to Rowan with surprise. Even though his voice was softer, Kurt listened more intently. People cared about him? It was hard to believe, but telling this to the man that literally chased him down to say so was difficult.

Kurt's gaze dropped down again in thought, but before he could talk himself out of Rowan's point further another set of arms wrapped around him. Michelet? He hadn't even realised the man had followed till he spoke. The golden hearted plant witch was one thing to fall over himself to help another, but Michelet? The man whom Kurt would have assumed to let him drown than throw a life-line a week prior. Why would he have any reason to go out of his way to help Kurt unless he meant it? The words the man spoke held more weight too, he felt like all he did was hurt and hinder the people he care for, Michelet seemed to at least genuinely empathise with this.

What was said next though practically stabbed Kurt in the gut, he would make Penny cry if something happened to him? He wasn't even sure how much his parents would morn him past using it as a publicity stunt. Even his fiancé told him how better off she was with him gone. To hear that there were people who really cared... Tears streamed silently from his cheeks. Rowan, Penny, Fish, even Michelet. He hadn't known them for very long, but he already owed them so much, and even now he was being selfish, about to hurt them in a way he could never take back.

After a pause of silence, Kurt sniffled and wiped his face upon his sleeve. He had to stop running away, it wasn't going to solve anything, and clearly it was only burdening the people who truly did care about him. Making them chase him and worry. He owed a debt to those that called him friend and he should fulfil that promise where he could. With his mind having stepped off the proverbial ledge, the outburst of emotion he had held subsided. Turning himself between them he wrapped an arm around each of the men. “Thank you, and I'm sorry, friends.” He spoke in almost a whisper. At a previous time it would have been outrageous to call the Michelet a friend, but if they weren't going to leave Kurt as he said, then Kurt was going to embrace them in turn.

Finally releasing them he straightened up and cleared his throat. “Well, I'm afraid I dragged you both from your breakfast, we could return?” This wasn't a particularly favourable idea for Kurt, especially after the brief cry and rum binge leaving his face flush and his head spinning. Still this wasn't about him, so if they wished he would go. Just after his momentary breakdown he wanted to swiftly pull himself out of it. They could always talk on deeper terms later when they weren't stood bro-hugging in the middle of a increasingly crowded hallway. “There is also Rowan's arm to see to.” He had hoped to see Rowan safely free of this supposed curse for his own peace of mind. Especially now that he had definitively set himself to serving and aiding the men who literally saved his life twice.

"You want it done fast, or do you want it done right? I can do both, I'm just asking..."

Had he known where his roommate’s thoughts had gone, he surely would have found the situation a lot more amusing than he should have. Yes, he would have been able to fix the sink if they somehow managed to destroy it. Hell, he would have happily torn apart the entire dorm if he could continue to stay wrapped up in the snowy male in his arms. And he’d wear a grin on his lips as he repaired every broken or shattered piece of it. Alas, our hero wasn’t gifted with the power to read thoughts, so he remained oblivious and simply smiled against the curve of Harley’s shoulder as his words drifted through the blonde’s head.

A soft chuckle passed his lips as he continued to nuzzle and nibble on the adorable vamp. Okay, he was wrong. Trouble was a soft term for what he was going to be in. Harley was giving him the green light, waving the checkered flag, and practically shoving the go ahead sign in his face. In his own sweet way, of course. It had the beast within him snapping to get free, to finally be able to play for the first time in what felt like eons. Tightening the hold he had on it, Seb bit back a groan at the presence of Harley’s fangs on his own skin before pressing one final kiss to the side of his roomie’s neck.

”Suffering for you, Harlequin, is worth it. As for the rest,” He paused to straighten up, his hand leaving the other male’s side to take him gently by the chin. Tipping his own face down, he met Harley’s eyes with his own and trailed his thumb lightly over the snowy vamp’s bottom lip. ”All in good time. I don’t want to rush this. I want to enjoy the way you go all soft in my arms, the way your breath catches when I kiss or touch you. Once I’ve had my fill of taking things slow,” Seb lowered his voice as he leaned in, his fangs nipped at the full lip he had been stroking moments before. The sweetness of the other male had him running on a sugar high, his head buzzing with a desire he hated having to keep a hold on.

”Then I shall show you just how much trouble we can get into together.” He couldn’t help but grin as he emphasized the word, his voice growing husky for a moment as lust flashed through his scarlet eyes. In the back of his mind, Seb knew he was risking things between himself and Harley with such an admission. But there was no turning back now. He’d had a taste of the beautiful vampire in his arms and he wasn’t going to go back now. The hell he would suffer to enjoy this little slice of Heaven was worth it, or so he told himself.

While he watched and waited for a reaction, the sound of his phone going off in the other room echoed in his head. He recognized the ringtone, but had no idea why this particular person would be calling him. They didn’t have any appointments standing at the moment, did they? His mind raced as the call was sent to voicemail, though he refused to move as his free hand continued to stroke absently along Harley’s hip and lower back. He simply couldn’t get enough of the cutie.

Good boy, was all she could think when her words were received without a problem. Thank the gods for the cute and slow males in the world like Lucas Levy-Hawke. They made things so much easier for creatures like her. Amused by her own thoughts, she let him lead the way and was happy to lean into his support as they moved. She said nothing about his comment on the sun, having nothing really to say about the shining orb in the sky. Personally, she preferred the moonlight but that wasn’t something he needed to know. His sole purpose for her was to be a distraction, a welcome little snack to appease her never ending hunger.

Reminding herself of that, she settled comfortably back into her seat and strapped herself in. She knew him to be one hell of a crazy driver, and while he might be immortal she most certainly wasn’t. While she waited for him to join her, violet eyes moved over the interior of the truck and took in all the little bits and bobs that were tucked away. It was all so Luke. The thought had her grinning at him when he slipped into the seat beside her. His offer of both his phone and a pair of sunglasses surprised her, dark brows rising as she blinked at the cell for a moment. She opened her mouth to decline, only to have her lips snap shut at the sudden lurch of the truck. Damn male was a lunatic behind the wheel!

”Has anyone ever told you that you drive like a bat out of hell?” Shaking her head at him, she took the phone and began to flip through the choices. She recognized a few and couldn’t help but giggle at others. In the end, Trin chose what appeared to be a playlist he frequented most then set the phone aside. She slipped the shades he’d given onto her face and flipped the vanity mirror down, examining her features behind the glasses as he went off about where they should go to eat. Her preferences were really a moot point, since the only thing on her mind at the moment was sitting beside her in the truck. Of course, she kept that to herself as she looked around them to see what he was referring to.

”I’ve never come into town for food before, to be honest. I don’t drive much, and Kurtis…” The mention of her former fiance stalled out her thoughts, the pain rushing back to steal the air from her lungs. Her hand moved to rest over the ache that had begun to reform in her chest, rubbing at the bruised organ beneath as if it would help still the hurt. In the back of her head she knew it wouldn’t. That nothing she did would fix the agony that she could still feel radiating through her body. But she didn’t want to focus on that. She wanted to enjoy the company of the adorably dumb brunette at her side for as long as she could keep him under her spell.

”Well, let’s just say I don’t get out much. So, if you like the place, then I’m all for it. I’m not too picky when it comes to what I put in my mouth.” She shot him a teasing grin before snapping the vanity back up into place. While she knew her body had to eat actual food, she didn’t want him forgetting the parts of him she wanted to devour. Not when she had him so enamored by her in the moment.

“I don't think that's how it works.” Izzy chuckled. “Wisdom comes with experience right? So you'd probably just wake up as dumb as you went in.” Joking aside once her room mate brought up she shrugged. “Luke, Luke Levy-Hawk. Tall, dirty brown hair, vampire... Usually has a s**t eating grin... Probably would have tried to hit on you when he first saw you. Ring any bells?” She chuckled again and cocked an eyebrow. Sure the description was practically satire, but it should be close enough to be recognizable.

With Luna agreeing to the deal with a bright laugh Izzy grinned. Then something changed, causing the rarely cheerful mood to switch drastically to annoyance. Fuzzy ears drooped as she almost snarled involuntarily at the girl. 'What ******** scumbag is out to get you, Lu?!' She almost yelled out, wanting to interrogate the girl on the answer. Even having only just met she could tell Luna was shy and meek, the thought that someone wanted to harm her in some way caused the righteous vampire's blood to boil. Izzy was already particularly short and petite, but Luna was even tinier than her, what the hell could she have possibly done to deserve such a grudge? The only thing that forced her to hold her expression steady from prying was Luna's reaction, the almost panic in her eyes. There was a thorn buried deep there and as much as Izzy wanted to help, they had only known each other 10 minutes. She would probably only do more harm than good trying to coax an explanation.

The blood seemed to ease her tension though, and Izzy relaxed in turn, trying to push aside the niggling anger that some ******** out there had it in for someone as sweet as Luna. The shy genuine smile received by her nickname helped. Knowing that the girl was still bright and happy in this moment when there was an arsehole with a vendetta hoping otherwise gave her a musing of pleasant spite. It just made her want to make Luna smile and laugh more.

Taking the blood pack she had a few sips to cool her own tension before handing the remainder back. “Breakfast sounds good. Just gotta swing this off in my room.” Thumbing out to the guitar she proceed to pack it back into the leather case while Luna continued about her crutches. Zipping up the case she flicked an ear before laughing and shaking her head. “Jackassery lesson 1. Don't worry about hurrying your arse for anyone. You go at your own damn pace.” She recited as if it was a rule before standing to swing the strap of the guitar case over her shoulder.

“And lesson 2, don't encumber yourself, when you can just lean on someone else.” With a cocked grin she held out a hand in offering to Luna. It was mostly a joke, but she would prefer if Lu just supported herself on her instead of hobbling around with crutches, especially in the cafeteria which was bound to be busy since the quarantine was lifted.
