Command Override / / / Sleeper Mode Disengaged

At first, the robot had been entirely noncompliant. Overriding Commands were often difficult for military-style bots to continue to do so in rapid succession. They were designed to follow orders to a T, so in the nature of Rachel's natural aggression towards the machine with threats to follow, it was uncertain the best course of action to follow. Metallic finger grips would loosen from the woman's wrist, but the machine continued to stand its ground. "Professor Anderson, I insist, this matter..." Certainly the machine still had a few loose circuits after the plundering it had took prior in the cabinet, and perhaps it wasn't as repaired as one may have thought. First, its sentence had fallen flat, which one may have mistaken for Rachel's command taking over. The timing, however, coincided with a very particular event. Within its optical sensors, it could see a fiery green glow launch into the sky from across the bridge. What exactly was that? 'Matter... Matter.. MatT3r.. M@t73r 1s 0F, 0FF, 0|=, 0|=|= 516|=|7 0/3ЯЯ1|),3 3//6463. Welcome to the Collective. Your presence in this game has been detected and now belongs to US.' From that moment the robot's demeanor would differ in every possible way. Where the robot was on the verge of backing down from Rachel, its metallic fingers would suddenly tighten around Rachel's wrist with a crushing grip, a shock even to the teacher herself. "Even after all this time, you haven't changed a bit, Megalodon." There was something offputting about the words of the machine. It no longer sounded like nearly inaudible static, nor did the tone match the one used prior. The voice was different entirely, one that was full of emotion, whether or not it was sinister. Even though the machine had no mouth, it was spoken in such a way that one would expect to see a smile. It was amusing, nostalgic, but overall unimpressed. "But you could never escape, and that won't just be your downfall, but theirs." With the metallic fingers nearly crushing her wrist, the robot would sharply twist, causing it to crack loudly but not break. The woman's arm trembled as if she was trying to use all her strength to fight back. But it seemed as if out of nowhere, her unrivaled strength had been dwarfed by some... Machine. If one watched, they'd be bewildered as the machine manhandled the teacher, moving her trembling arm up and past her head, as if forcing her into submission. "Remember what you were taught. A shark is most dangerous in shallow waters." No matter how Rachel tried to crush the throat of the machine, even when a series of teeth were fired into the metal from her vambrace. They merely shattered as the presence of black and blue aura shimmered upon its body, but only for a moment. Splintered shards of enamel would embed into Rachel's fingers, acting as a series of razors that drew blood. She would smell blood. "Sink into the Shallows, Megalodon." Before she could act though, it was too late. Her body had seized to his words, her gaze going blank before cyan hues became a vibrant crimson. Truly nothing had changed since that day, the day she left him as a barely recognizable pile of flesh. A day that he vowed she would rue, even if it came half a decade later. With her body seized, the machine would cup the mask in its palm before slamming it into her face and releasing her. While she stood tall, unresponsive, the machine knew the deed had been done. No matter how many years she spent apart, no matter how much she thought she had grown, she would never escape her fate as property of the Collective. She was the Megalodon.

As the machine turned on the teacher on the bridge, things were just as eventful at the vault door. With a bright green flare in the sky and smoke spreading through the area, a machine that appeared long undisturbed would spring to life. There were no flashy lights, no spurs of movement, whirls of gears or sparks of electricity. Despite its drastically worn and aged appearance, it moved far more agile than even the machine that was at the aid of the students. Caked on volcanic dust would fall from its joints as it seized the opportunity, maneuvering through the smoke to meet the 'student' on the other side of the vault. Though smoke and darkness enveloped the outside, the vault itself had no trouble with light. Even if it had, the machine's optical sensors would've been able to scan the room thoroughly. With a wall of ice between them, the Atlesian Knight's ally would move on ahead to the door, clearly scouting the area. "I must say, I did expect a little more compassion from the students. That was quite an act you displayed. Perhaps I should submit a behavioral correction course to the Beacon staff, do you think they would accept?" Perhaps the teacher had a bigger influence on her students than the machine gave her credit for. Then again, if that was the case, that might've been his fault as well. Whatever it was, it mattered not. They had to ensure their window of opportunity, and for that, the machine had several other tricks up its sleeve. First it would shift the aged looking rifle from over its chest. Then, metal plates would open, allowing it to pull a vial like a machine from one of many compartments. It from within glowed a bright pale blue dust crystal;, rigged with a chrome metal frame and wires. It would tap a single button, causing a green light to flash, then fasten it to the floor several feet away from the door. It was considered extra insurance just in case the students happened to get past the ice blockade before they were ready. If they did, the device would trigger the pale blue dust to create a hardened barrier of light; a second blockade. It was at this time that the Valian Knight had turned the tables on Rachel, an act the machine would communicate. "The Valian model has completed its task, meaning the students are in for their first nasty surprise." The man who controlled both machines, though he had helped weave this plan together, left a number of variables unspoken. Not wanting to throw all his cards on the table, he politely missed the opportunity to share the Professor's susceptibility to mental control. Something that should have bought them more time.

Now it was time to join with his colleague who assessed their situation in the entryway. Oddly, it looked as if with every active moment, the aged and withered machine was looking cleaner and more refined. Soon enough, it joined the student thought to be Darius, gazing into the window as well. This without a doubt was an Atlesian operated lab, meaning the mastermind behind the machine was right at home. Something that stuck out in particular above all else, though, was, of course, the glowing canisters, but also the text that was written on it. Something that for the normal eye may have been hard to see, but the machine's optical functions allowed it to zoom and analyze. 'Intravenous Prototype M.19 -- X43... Now that's a subject to look into, assuming this lab is dry on the information." Thoroughly intrigued, he just couldn't keep his satisfaction to himself. "It appears our informat didn't send us on a wild goose chase. Wonders never cease." Then again, that was the very reason the man took all sorts of odd jobs from a variety of clients. Even if his network wasn't as strong as it once was, it was still enough to both meet this informat and arrange them with the supplies they'd need. Military bots, an arsenal of dust, a variety of other equipment that was just a little too difficult to get at your local click. Enough talk, though, it was time for action. First, the 'student' had begun turning the wheel, something that the machine would soon aid in. Between their combined strength, they made relatively quick work of what was considered the easiest obstacle. Inside, however, was an absolute goldmine. Various screens and monitors, machines all over that it was certain were overflowing with data. Darius would then issue an order, which while the machine may have preferred being a shot caller, it had no issues. "Righto. Information extraction, I'm sure the Black Box is bound to have plenty to give." Again, the machine had every intention to bleed this place dry on the information. As the two parted ways and it approached the first monitor, bemused, it would call out. "Handle with care, I may be after the black box, but we might have just opened up Pandora's Box." It was his own odd way of heeding caution to his accomplice. In retrospect, he had been impressed thus far and expected much from this 'student' named Darius. What a joke that was.

[Assuming that this facility is fully powered and the computers are online] The machine was now in its own element. Not only because of its Atlesian design but the person behind the machine had worked with Atlesian tech for many years. While this may have been the most enigmatic of their labs he's worked in, he was still confident in his ability to uncover information. A majority of the monitors appeared connected to a complex computer system, so that was his target. Allowing the machine to boot up, come online. Assuming it did, metallic fingers would begin tapping away at either key on a board or on the screen, however, the machine was operated. Not only that, but the machine would look for input, something that would allow itself to plug in to begin receiving information that simple finger work couldn't access in a timely manner. Small metal plates would unfold from its hand, opening access for it to connect to the computer. From there, it would begin running a series of processes. One hand would operate the computer itself manually, while the other remained connected to get a deeper look. It was only thanks to the machines own processor that it could juggle so many tasks at once. The machine even had its own access to a log of former Atlesian military roots and passwords from its operator's former association with Atlas. If this lab had been out of commission since that era, then it may very well be able to get past any security it had to offer. That, and of course bypassing it the old fashion way. It was looking for key information. Records of this lab operation, information on the prototype, the last archive of records that were submitted. Most of all, it wanted access to the black box, which may have held all the information they needed. What was this lab for? What were they working on? Why had it been abandoned for so long? What did the future hold for them, now acquiring the "Intravenous Prototype M.19 -- X43."

If acquiring information from the computer itself proved too difficult, the machine was ready to begin searching it high and low for physical documents. Tangible creations that were sealed behind that door. No document could be invalid in this situation.

The explosion of a Flare, the smoke, and it was all taken away by the terrifying Darkness. Soon, the sounds of water crystalization could be heard followed by what sounded like a tape recorder playing to the east of the door. It sounded like a man, followed by the voices of children as they sung. 'One, two, Becky's coming for you. Three, four, your luck is so poor. Five, six, I sail the River Styx. Seven, eight, you know it's too late. Nine, ten, you'll never see again.' Slowly, but surely, the song was playing to mask the presence of the one behind it, and the darkness approaching from the west side of the door. 'One, two, three, four, five.... 5 targets.' The being thought as he drew closer towards the ground and drew out three Scalpel blades. In his left hand was his scroll as he pressed a button on it. Unbeknownst to the ones at the door, a loud scream could be heard on the bridge before the silent predator lunged. He threw his scroll, with the intent of breaking it at the man he could see that was called Vance. The three Scalpel blades were on their way, having been flung at the bee-faunus named Lena, aiming to take out her legs or have the blades cut them to disable her ground speed. Meanwhile, the main body, the person emitting this shapeless cloud, aimed his body to try and tackle Ora down using Momentum. His task was simple, chaos and bloodshed. If they had their auras up, he knew what to expect, but right now he was aiming to beat their reaction time and their muscle's siezing up.

Ora looked around to Lena. The Volcanic ash was starting to rub the insides of her lung. There was a gas mask in her hands. "I'm not placing anything over my face ever again. Nothing that restricts my sight, and covers my horns! You and no one else can make me!" Blood would show itself on the side of her mouth. Her voice incredibly hoarse. She didn't care that she was dizzy, that her lungs burned. She would make it through this mission.

Then she would hear a gun going off. She hadn't heard anyone joining them, either for a fight. Everything in her body said that something was about to go wrong. Then a smoke bomb would go off, making her lungs hurt more. She couldn't help but to cough more, bringing up even more blood. Then the area became unnaturally dark, not even her faunus eyes could see through it. She heard things rushing through the air. She heard explosions, then she heard a voice she had never wanted to hear ever again. In fact, she was told that he had died.

A black aura would rise out of her back, surrounding the area around Ora. The feeling of ominous things would permeate the area. Then she felt someone body check her. She wasn't expecting it, and tumbled to the ground. Her eyes would start to become blank, as her horns started to form around her head, like a helmet. She would roll out of the body check, get to her feet, and charge the man with her horns. Her Aura was needed to save her from the gas.

Once her body would slam into something, her eyes would roll back into her head. The ominous Aura would disappear. Ora would pass out, right there and then.

Lena could hear the song but what made her move was the Demon, the noise of Ora changing. Shrinking down she would her the knife blades miss, as they sank into the ground, at where her legs would have been. Now she had an Ora someplace, her shrunken size, and a mystery attacker to deal with, and some dense darkness. "s**t..." Looking toward the attacker, or where she thought the attacker was, Lena would get moving. Jumping up she would use her harness to land safely in a small hole in the rock face. "Right... ball of smoke...can’t see anything..." She needed to act fast, think faster, and move just the same. Two streaks of plasma would fly towards their attacker. Lena hoped she could keep this mystery person busy and hopefully, HOPEFULLY, Narx or someone could save Ora. Sound was the only thing she could trust, though the bubbling lava wasn’t much help as it was a constant. Lena had a greater advantage now. Smaller size, less noise made, and she could get nearly anywhere thanks to it.

“Inspiration is found everywhere you look.
The trick is to capture it and make it something your own."

Vance Merlo
[The Artist]
Team: LMAA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ow..." Vance said when he was pushed away and hit the ground with a thud, partly confused about what had happened. Woman named Lena had agreed with him about that the answer to the door could be gargoyles and then went to check on her teammate. If she could convince Ora to put on the mask, there would be more time to get her the help that she needed. He had looked back at Lunia, who was next to the to two fallen students, to see if she agreed with his answer. With his team leaders nod, Vance was prepared to put in the code and was pushed a side by one of the other students, Narx if the picture on the mission report was correct. As he got up, he saw the student start pounding on the door, wanting the door to open right then and there. The boy would get up as he heard sounds of that the door was making and smile formed as he saw the large door open before them. In a response to this, he moved his hand to capture the moment with his camera as it was already filling him with inspiration, However as one of the students ran into the structure, a sudden darkness started to approach the group. and Vance took guard when heard the scream from the other end..

As this was no time for a picture show, he put his camera away and remove his brush from his side, to be ready for the new threat that had appeared. This attacker, however, wanted to follow the actions of fate as the boy was hit with something and shouted from the sudden pain. "Ow! What the heck is going on today?" He said as he used his brush's wooden hilt to try and find what had hit him by tapping the ground. Vance eventually found something and dragged it over to him to pick it up, with it being more confusing as he felt it was someone's scroll. He would have to question this later and he put the scroll in his bag in the darkness when he heard a sound. The man was unsure what he was hearing as he turned to face where the noise was coming from and prepared himself for whatever came his way. What he wasn't prepared for was the train that slammed into him and sent flying away backwards through the doorway, and into the void of the structure. Vance yell would echo until he landed again on the ground and felt something heavy was on top of him. When he went to feel around him to understand what had happened, his face went red under his mask as he shouted out... "What even is today?!"

Cecil was breathing heavily as the heat was beginning to get to him, he shook his head to get his mind back into it as he heard Azura speak. He nodded his head as he started to try and help build the bridge back so they can reach their comrades on the other side. "Something is better than nothing." Cecil told Azura with a smile as everyone else began to do their part of the work. That was until he heard a commotion from the robot and Rachel. He looked towards them as he heard Adam speak and responded. "I'm doing alright and If Rachel did, I don't think it wise for everyone to cross that way as they would need to support their body weight going across." He told Adam softly before he heard Danae point out a board. He nodded his head as he got up, albeit a bit weakly and moved to grasp the board while he kept hearing the voices of Rachel and the machine go at it.

After some time, he came back with the board, just as the door on the other side began to pen, and it brought Cecil a smile as his semblance instinctively activated to try and help keep him cool. But he watched as one of the student's ran in as he got the board in place, the make-shift bridge coming to fruition before he heard the hiss of a smoke grenade, the crystallization of Ice and watched as the field on the other side became enveloped by darkness. Then he felt something in his bag move as the Valian Knight by Rachel seemed to make the teacher zone out while hearing the voice that didn't belong to a machine. It was followed by a strange melody that caused his own eyes to narrow in anger before he felt something move in his bag. 'What the....? No!' Cecil had just realized he had been duped and before he could get a word out, he grasped tightly to the bridge and held himself back as he screamed in agony, lightning enveloping him as his aura reduced the amount of damage he would have taken. But the shocks were too much as they spread from his location to a range of 30 feet away.

XXXUnfortunately for the students that were attempting to get her attention, she was too occupied with herself borderline ready to punt this machine into the sea below. She'd scowl as she felt the machine's fingers tighten around her wrist, her own fist tightening as her nails dug into her palm. What was more annoying was the fact that the machine not only refused to listen but attempted to talk back to her. She'd grit her teeth in aggravation, perhaps the only thing actually shifting her focus was the sound of gunfire. It wasn't a normal firearm, though. It wasn't loud, it wasn't deadly, but it was a burst, something similar to firework launching into the air. What were those students doing up ahead? Was that even the student's work?

That's when everything began to unfurl. Though the robot's grip around her wrist was tight, it didn't compare to the immense force that now grasped her. Cyan hues would widen in shock, actually taken by surprise by the death grip the robot suddenly had. Nothing could prepare the woman for her next surprise, though, where cyan hues would not only widen in surprise but unprecedented fear. The voice was no longer one of static, no longer autonomous. It was the voice of a man that had haunted her past, one that woke her up each and every night. It was the reason she fought tooth and nail to never smell the blood of human again. It was the reason she turned her back on logic, reason, emotions. It was the voice of a man that broke her beyond repair for his own enjoyment, the source of every dread she ever experienced. It was the voice of a man she had killed so many years ago, a reminder of a past long left behind. She could see him smiling, even if this was a mere machine. That tone, that pitch. She knew the exact expression on his face. The way the right side of his lips curled in a smirk, the taunting amber hues that expected rise, but was certain he was above her. Even now, she was certain that he rested his right cheek against his hand. Two fingers pressed against his cheekbone, two curled beneath his lips, and his thumb under his chin. Only he would call her that name. "You're not here." Her tone was different. The normal strength in her voice, the power in her words. A tone that was held with the utmost confidence and arrogance, it was gone. It was almost meek, her words spoken in disbelief. Even with all her strength, she didn't have enough to fight back. Though she held strong, he held stronger. Her wrist would crack as it was twisted, forced away and up past her head. Her arm trembled, her expression not just puzzled, but wide with trauma. What the hell was this? She called upon every ounce of strength she had to throw away his hand, to strike him off this bridge, but nothing. He had her in his grasp now, and she was forced to listen. "You're not here, you're not here. You're dead!" He was doing it again. Using his words to get to her. She could feel the seems of her mind unraveling at the sound of his words, at the pitch of his tone. He always held himself above her, and he always made sure to enforce it. She was belittled, she was broken, her mind molted after she ripped it apart bit by bit. She remembered every moment but would continue to reject its very existence. "Shut the ******** up! You can't be here! You can't do this anymore!" The woman screamed in distressed. Something that was so far different from the teacher these students had known and grown to, well, maybe respect? IT was hard to say with her. She tried to crush its throat, she tried to embed shards of enamel to rip it to shreds, but nothing happened. ... Nothing happened because it had an aura. Aura of a familiar shimmer, that he'd its same toxic presence against her skin. Even as shards of enamel splintered into her skin, she couldn't even feel it. That pain didn't compare to the true sensation of disbelief that was abolished as reality came crashing around her. It was him, and she couldn't fight those memories anymore. Every hour she spent strapped to that chair, every medication she took, every scene she was forced to watch with open eyes. Every time she was struck, every time she struck back. Every time she was force-fed, every time she ripped the flesh from someone's bones. Every time she fought to keep some aspect of her humanity from slipping from her grasp, every time she fell into the crimson abyss as her true self emerged. Her screams, their screams, his laughter. Her pain, their agony, his delight. Her hunger, their sweet taste, his disgusting essence. She remembered every moment as the smell of blood flooded her nose, her eyes turning crimson. Her body's entire existence would react to the command that was rooted in her very core. Her teeth would grit, her arms and legs trembling as if she was going into shock when in reality it was her trying to fight with sheer willpower from her body getting seized. She couldn't let him have control, not with the students here. Yet each time she tried to move her arms, every time she tried to take a step, she felt herself sinking. The world was growing darker as every growing weight kept pulling her down. 'No, no, no! I won't let you have me! Zaffre, I won't let you kill them!' She couldn't let him have them, he couldn't kill them. ... But that was the thing, he wasn't the one that would be killing them. She was. She wasn't as strong as before, as strong as last time. Her body fell still as the mask was slammed against her face, though a single set of tears would trickle from her eyes.

As the mask was pressed against her face, it felt as if her very soul was purged from her body. In her own perspective, she felt herself lose her footing. She'd watch as her still standing body would slip further away as she fell back. 'No, come back!' Her scream would resonate in the soundscape of her mind but would echo endlessly. The world around her had become dark, the ground beneath her had become nearly listless water that reflected herself, her soul, and the figure in front of her. Everyone else had disappeared, including the machine itself. Instead, in front of her body, stood an aged man. One with a matured, wrinked face. His hair was a short, silver blue, but his eyes a bright amber that gazed upon her still body with sickening delight. His gloved fingers still clutched the mask that he had pressed against her face, but his eyes looked beyond her masked body. Instead, it looked directly at her conscience, his smirk growing wider as he released the mask and waved to her. 'Farewell, Mr. Anderson, I'm sure your students will appreciate your true self.' A snicker escaped his lips as he turned away from the two, taking a single step into the water before vanishing. As he vanished, her own body would break the surface of the water, sinking into a sea of black. Desperately, she'd attempt to flail and reach up towards herself, thrashing in within the black waves. However with each swing, with each attempt, a blackened hand would reach from the water to restrain her, to pull her down further beneath the waves. Even though she continued to break free, the number of hands continued to grow and grow until the sea itself was ready to consume her. Finally pulled beneath the black waves, by a riptide, she'd catch one last glimpse of herself. Her masked self had turned towards her, facing towards her conscience beneath the waves. Her eyes were a vibrant crimson and a similar crimson fluid would trickle from her lips. A single drop would splash into the water below, and in turn, the sea would seemingly explode upwards as a shark burst from the still waters, consuming her whole.

In the outer world, Rachel's masked body stood completely still. Though a set of tears had trickled down her cheeks, her eyes held its crimson color. The machine would drop its grip entirely from the woman, seemingly pleased with its work. Without hesitation, Rachel would throw her hand up to strike the robot's chest with unhindered force. A powerful clang would echo from the impact, the machine's chest dented as it was knocked back dozens of feet away from the woman. Even though the machine had awakened the megalodon, that didn't mean it was safe from her. Not yet. The woman would then turn her gaze towards the students who were still attempting to figure their way past the bridge. A deep growl would resonate in her throat, her piercing blood-red gaze fixed intently on Adam, who had indicated towards her prior. Before she could act, though, before she could truly show that something was wrong, a powerful electrical surge would erupt from Cecil, stretching over a large majority of the bridge itself. The electrical current was powerful, forcing Rachel's body to begin twitching sporadically. It was as if she was locked into place, the electricity stunning her muscles, keeping her from moving. As she twitched, Eve's leg that she carried on her shoulder would fall onto the floor. Whenever the electrical current ceased, Rachel too would drop to the floor with the bloody leg she had carried.

On the other side of the bridge where the students were being apprehended by an unknown assailant, a student had been charged directly through a barrier of ice that had sealed the entryway shut. The moment that Vance broke through this barrier, however, a machine would trigger at the sight of motion. The small, metal contraption would light up with a bright blue before a large, thick blue barrier formed further down the hall, just past Vance. It seemed the other machine heeded proper caution, as now this barrier of hardened light would seal off the path for another several instance until the students figured out a way to get further if they could even manage such a task.

Above the sea of molten death, the teams were still trying to construct the bridge. The bridge was near completion. Though, it seemed Ms. Anderson was having a battle with the droid accompanying them. "I really don't like that thing." Adam thought. Giving another glance to the two, the robot had the teacher's arm in a grip. Welp, that thing's gonna be a toaster now. He heard his buddy, Cecil, breathing heavy and his concern started to grow. "I really wish there was something I could do, Ceez." he thought. He snapped his head towards the direction of his other peers where a brouhaha was taking place. Adam pinched the bridge of his nose in thought. "I'm not good at this thinking thing, but let's give it a shot." he posed to himself. He thought about everything so far in this environment. How it's toxic and constantly draining them of fluids, morale and energy. The groups are separated, Cecil isn't in the best shape, Adam is sweating his hair out and the other group seems to have their own problems going on. If all the ruckus over there is anything to go by. Cecil retrieves a board and puts in in place. "Well, at least we still have Ms-!" his sentence was stopped short as a small chill went up his spine. An all too familiar feeling. One he hasn't felt in a while. The sound of metal ringing roared behind Adam. Before he could turn around, he felt the weight. That feeling he knew since he was a baby: Bloodlust. Being forced to fight with serial killers, rapists, thieves and anyone inbetween has given him a way to sense it. But this was much more intense than any feeling he's experienced. He wasn't some champion people wanted to kill for glory, fame or money. He was meat. And that's all. In his mind, he saw himself in the open maw of a gargantuan great white who's jaws were itching to consume him. Through willpower he kept him breathing steady and himself composed. "Well this is heavy." he said as he began to sweat a bit more. With the culprit, who he knew was Anderson, staring at him he was completely oblivious to what was happening to Cecil. He was brought back after the shock emanating from Cecil knocked him over causing his torso to fall over the bridge. Arms dangling, he opened his eyes a bit dazed from the shock, but he found that he could still move. His eyes widened in horror realizing the position he's in. His eyes nervously shot in all directions making sure any sudden movements wouldn't cause him to plummet to a horrible death. In his near frenzied state, his eyes landed on something. Something he didn't believe. Hanging by a literal THREAD from a damaged and a tarnished rope was a board they needed. It was caught between the splintered wood carelessly swinging from left to right. "Wow. What an oddly placed item that would only be found if someone were to nearly fall of the rope bridge and it's conveniently..." he grabs it with a grunt "it's within reach." he said as he scoots himself back safely onto the bridge. He walked over and places the board to continue the construction before heading to Cecil's side and kneels. "Yo. You ok?" he asked hoping to get a response. He looked over to Anderson who stood in place but twitched repeatedly before falling to the floor. Adam looked at his hands and body and wondered why he was ok, but didn't dwell on it. He had to keep his focus up. Not only for Cecil, but that bloodlust from Anderson he felt earlier. "Cecil. Azura. We may have a problem." he said keeping his eyes on Anderson hoping his team was concious.

Azura Knight

"I'm fine...for now. Something doesn't feel right though. Just be alert." Azura told Adam and Cecil. There were so many things wrong with this mission. A random cave system opening up, the cave-in, the smell of gun powder, Darius and his story not adding up and finding existing scaffolding down here. Each one, by themselves, could have been happenstance, but together gave the feeling of something sinister and deliberate. If she had been in Professor Anderson's position she would have called for a retreat and regrouping a long time ago. Instead, Azura watched helplessly as the giant stone doors opened and her classmates on the other side of the chasm walked in without waiting, or helping, to repair the bridge. She wanted to shout for them to wait, but the words stuck in her throat. After all, who was she to order them around? She would regret that seconds later as a green light shone, before the room filled with smoke. "They are in trouble. We need to get across now." If only she could have found that confidence a moment ago.

A magma spurt would melt through the scaffolding just as surely as it would like the paracord on fire, but seeing as it wasn't under pressure, she couldn't see it spurting under these conditions anyway. Of course, true to Azura's nature she kept all of these thoughts to herself, just as she had with Darius Cadwell and the other students leaving them behind...and well everything. Arguing with Charlotte isn't going to build us a bridge. Neither was just sitting on a rock watching the rest of them work. Luckily, Danea found a board meaning, they were one step closer to patching the scaffolding. Even if she disagreed with Charlotte about the magma spurt, a rope bridge would take longer to construct, as long as they could find one more board in relatively short order. Not to mention they could cross a scaffold bridge a lot fast...in case they needed to quickly retreat. Just one more piece, she thought while looking around.

Along with Adam, she turned to the sound of angry voices. Professor Anderson and the Robot were fighting. I knew that thing couldn't be trusted. She nodded as Adam said 'Well, this is heavy.' "We don't have time for this." She said softly to Adam, and Cecil who had just returned with the bored Danea had spotted. She didn't know what to do though. Getting between Professor Anderson and the Valain Knight while they wrestled seemed like a bad idea. Then suddenly their teacher went limp. "Cecil something is wrong-" She began when suddenly the lightning hit her. Her aura, fully charged, took most of the damage, but that didn't stop the muscles in her body from being paralyzed. From behind Professor Anderson and the Valian Knight she could see cracks spreading in the rock walls, but she was unable to speak or move at the moment. 'We are in trouble. We need to get across now.' Azura thought.

Danaë would take a small peice of dust out of her pocket. It was the blue one. The one that would need to save her right now. She would place it under her feathers and have her Aura activate it. An instant cooling effect was brought through her feathers. She was feeling much better now.

Then, the commotion on the bridge was happening. She honestly wanted to just sneak past everyone and get to the other side of the bridge. She could probably do it with a combination of stealth and flying. She didn't know how well she would be able to fly with one eye. Then it was clear something was wrong, she was about to activate her Aura, when a shock went through her body. An involuntary scream would leaver her lips, as blood would leak from her wounded eye again. After the shock, her body would look burned, and the smell of burning feathers would fill the air. She couldn't move. The only thing she could do was get her aura to protect her. She wanted to protect Narx. She wanted to actually succeed on this mission... She wanted to do it for Donnally, and Lavender, and Ling.

Narx couldn't move in surprise when the door finally opened.. Had the answer been correct all along? Just a delay? Relief started to flood in, but he was still frozen for a moment. His muscles had tightened. The student he wasn't very familiar with made his way promptly into the antechamber and beyond. He was quick, didn't have a doubt in his mind. The confidence seemed... Off. The canisters did look like they were important so he was probably right to collect them, but there was just something about the way he went about it that made it seem like he knew they would be there. The stranger thing was the robot that followed him in. Neither seemed concerned by the other. The robot just started working on computers. Narx shrugged it off though, maybe it was repairing the facility now that the proper code was inserted? He didn't know how these things worked.

He was distratced as he saw Ora walk to the wall. She seemed off too, weak, wait, she wasn't wearing a mask? How had he only just noticed? Maybe it was because he was purposefully avoiding her a bit, since she knew things about him. Things that confused him. Endangered his very existence. He saw Lena go over to her, she seemed to be trying to get her to wear a mask, which made him like Lena a bit more. He had never really had much interaction with Lena, she seemed really cool though. He made a mental note to reach out to her someday.

Narx was just soaking in the scene. He needed to be less rash, his entering in the code gave him quite a scare. He saw some comotion over in the distance on the bridge. The robot, grabbing the teacher, probably trying to help her, but knowing Ms. Rachel from how she ran classes was likely just overreacting.
"What is that..." He said as all hell broke loose in the distance. A mysterious figure was attacking the group. A flare. Music. Something was terribly wrong. This caused his head to snap back towards the student gathering the canisters. This was a setup. Or something like that.

Narx stood up, he needed to act, but was unsure what to do. The figure in the distance was too far away to help. Plus, the bridge issue would be tricky. He saw Ora pass out which was the first thing that concerned him. She needed to get a mask on, and she needed it on yesterday. He took a step in that direction, but everything became shrouded in darkness due to the mysterious new figure. Some sort of masking semblance. He couldn't help them. Not effectively at least, and running into the darkness would likely be a bad idea. He didn't know if it had other effects afterall. "Damn it! I'll go that way then." He would say to himself turning back towards the vault. In the back of his mind he was just thinking about his girlfriend. He had a lot of confidence in his team leader. Danaë would be fine, but he hated being apart from her. She was injured after all. He shook the thoughts of though. The sooner they finished this the sooner they would be reunited, plus they had a lot of strong people over there, it couldn't take long for them to stop the intruder.

"Lu, something is wrong, I don't think we can trust that kid.." He said walking up to Lunia and tapping her on the shoulder. "That student and that robot... Something is wrong..." Narx then realized that these two might be villains of some sort, The Tribe popped into his head. They were both inside. He had to do something. He heard a loud crash of what sounded like ice, this was his moment. Narx ran past the door, navigated a bit around the darkness, as much as he could until he was in the antechamber and slammed the metal door shut and spun the spokes in the opposite direction to lock it in place. The glass was insanely thick on the nearby window, designed to keep volcanic debris out, so the chances of them breaking through it were highly unlikely. He used all his strength to hold the door shut, and fortunately that was his primary talent. A hard light wall formed behind him, locking him in the front of the antechamber, holding the door closed with two inside, and a wall of hard light to his rear. Darkness beyond that, consuming Ora and Vance. This was a terrible placement, and he was only just beginning to realize.

"We don't have much time Lu!" Narx would shout. Obviously requesting backup, not even sure if she could hear him with all that was between them. The two were locked inside, and until they knew if they were good or not he wasn't planning on letting them out. That robot was the main thing throwing him off. Something was terrible wrong. That was all he could think. If they could trap these two inside for long enough. Maybe those at the bridge could deal with their enemy and then come back them up here.

Everything was happening too fast for Lunia to comprehend, there were two lifeless bodies in front of her and the young man who was their teammate informed her to leave them be - Lunia would respect this as she stood back and watched him move forwards with others. She started to follow, however was soon caught off guard by the sounds of a tape recorder playing behind them, her eyes turned to the location however it was short lived as the area filled with smoke and utter darkness to the point where she felt she was beginning to see hallucinations. Lunia made noises of evident distress, she hated it when she couldn't see, but this darkness was something she had never experienced before.

Lunia could eventually hear her own breathing, she was panicking and could hear it in the pits of her chest. "Calm down Lunia... calm down.." she said to herself, everyone around her was gone, everything she could see was gone. Lunia stood extremely still, attempting to listen for anything happening, all she could hear was a horrendous song playing in her vicinity, and then - boom! Lunia heard Vance making a noise close to her, she could tell what direction it came from and decided to run after it.

The darkness began to fade as she went further away from it, and she came across a large ice wall.. with a large human sized hole in it. "Vance!?" she yelled, as she hopped through it and gasped when she saw Ora lying on top of him, evidently unconscious. Lunia was totally confused at the sight, she bent down to Vance and pushed Ora's body off of him. "Are you ok? What happened?!" she said, as she could hear the girls breathing extremely strained and suffering. Lunia sighed with relief at the fact she was alive, and moved her into a more comfortable position, placing the mask she had around her face, in order to help her breathing. Lunia frowned slightly, "You are just asking to die by not wearing that mask..." she said, turning around to Vance now as she went to help her team member up.

Lunia then heard Narx shouting towards her, he was attempting to hold the door open for her and as she began to move towards him, something stopped her. She looked around at the other students close to her, Ora was unconscious, Vance was evidently hurt, Charlotte was nowhere to be seen.. Lunia couldn't face leaving them behind when there was evidently something evil heading their way. "I.. I'll try and buy you some time!" she said, as she watched everything else close.

Things were silent for a brief moment, Lunia turned back to Vance, taking his shoulders in her hands she shook him very gently. "Whatever that is.. it's trying to get to everyone.. I have to try, I want to protect everyone.." she said, looking down at Ora. "Keep her safe.. whatever is coming is going to try and get through" Lunia said, sighing at her own personal flaw of always wanting to help everyone.

Lunia was in a much better shape than others, she had barely used any aura and wasn't hurt from being smacked by a charging ram. "Alright, when things get too much... run" she said, a pleading tone in her voice. She made her way back to the other side of the ice wall and stood, the darkness soon enveloping her again. She breathed in heavily and sighed, attempting to relax herself as much as possible. There was no Ora without Lena, she was still out there, and Lunia couldn't bear to leave the faunus girl to die. Lunia took her blades from their belts that resting on her back and held them both at her side, she was ready for whatever came, or at least she thought she was.

"Remember what Father taught you... there is light within darkness... there is light.. within the darkness.." she said, looking around her as she attempting to calm her breathing down and hone her senses as the fighter she was trained to be. Lunia Yatomura, the idiot who always put others before herself.

Charlotte Aoyama

[ P O S T ]

Charlotte seemed to be in her own little world for a few moments. A soft humm coming from the scorpion as she tried to recall something. Something in the fringe of her mind. Something important. Though she did slowly shook her head out of that funk. Her left hand darting to her mask to make sure it was still covering her face as she muttered lightly. Her eyes flickering to the floor by the rock she was currently sat on before she flickered them back towards the bridge. Her brain more focusing on the trap than the strange robot being punted. Or the people in the lab.

But even with the focus she couldn't help but chuckle a tiny bit to herself as her mind jumped. Flashing through traps she had laid herself though she faded back into reality with a dull ‘zap’ Going through her leg. Her head angling down as she seemed a tiny bit confused. Her mouth slowly opening before she shut it again. Her aura flickering a tiny bit as it took the discharge rather easily. Least the very limited part that reached her. She then softly started to think. Her mind finally deciding to ponder on the knight that now had a dint in it. Wasn't that standard behaviour? Shooting ‘friendlys’ Was all those things seemed good for. That and being cannon fodder. Much like some……

Her hand then moved to her mask again for a moment. Tapping on its filter as she stood up and off her rock. Slowly approaching the bridge. A slightly insane thought on how to get a bridge across temporarily working crossing her mind. Even if she didn't verbalize it just yet.

It was over before it even began. The others had made it inside, that's what mattered. Rachel had fallen for his trap, that was an important step to ensure their distraction and potential demise. Of course, the Megalodon always came with collateral damage. Upon awakening, the machine received a mighty blow to the chest, though it was nothing in comparison to nearly being crushed by a rock prior. The machine had rag-dolled for a moment, being knocked back dozens of feet. It was almost as if it never attempted to get on the bridge. Its metallic body rattled against the bridge, bouncing multiple times before it managed to catch hold in a kneeled position, its open palm against the ground for stability. It's visor was sparking once again, the chest plate dented with one corner folded over, showing that there was more within. For a moment, its movements were jagged. Trying to get back on its feet had sporadic movements, causing it to jolt back several times before it could finally stand tall, as if it was lagging. Once it was on its feet, however, it looked upon the bridge as the electric assault began. Multiple had fallen, including Cecil, Azura, Danae and even the prized Megalodon. "How disappointing. After all of that, you're taken down with the current." The machine said, clearly disappointed with the shark faunus that was struggling against the electricity. The machine was able to stand just fine, even as the electricity jolted up its legs. The current would noticeably disperse as it attempted, the machine is built with immunity to open shocks.

Now that the machine wasn't struggling against Rachel, and instead, the students would, it could focus on other matters. These troublesome students were attempting to construct a way across the bridge. A futile attempt, trying to do so with wooden boards. Pulling up the rifle that had been clinging to its side for show, it would load a full magazine into the base. Then, pulling a switchback, an additional chamber would open on the weapon. A small plate of metal would open in its palm, revealing a glowing red bullet that it would load into the chamber, before clicking shut. Raised now with the stock braced against its plated shoulder, the machine would take aim. At first, it appeared that it was going to aim at the students. Then, however, it turned its attention to Rachel's switching form, its finger on the trigger as if ready to put the dangerous teacher down. That wasn't in the plan, though. Instead, last second, the machine would turned the weapon towards the board construct they were attempting to build to connect the bridge. The machine would pull the trigger in order to release a powerful blazing bullet, tearing and hopefully collide in order to reduce it to ash. "I'm terribly sorry, students, but for your own safety I cannot allow you to cross to this bridge. It can be dangerous in the dark." Then, the machine would lower his weapon. It could hear footsteps approaching, another student that had yet to join all the chaos. One that this machine was actually quite familiar with, despite the fact that she surely never met it. It would turn on its heel, facing the scorpion faunus. Another student that the man behind the machine had gotten far too much information on, just as it had done with the rest of the students. This one, though, was special. "Matters are hectic ahead, are you sure you want to proceed, young Charlotte?" The machine asked, both as a warning, but also a question of genuine curiosity. She had been disengaged the entire time, and so, in turn, was acting as if it hadn't just committed its own atrocities up ahead. In asking, though, the black visor on its face would appear different than normal. After another spark, the black material changed white, showing it had the capabilities of a screen. It flashed multiple times, consisting of squares and numbers in a sporadic pattern. It appeared multiple times, before another spark made itself present, causing the visor to go black once more. The machine would then curl its fingers around the handle of its rifle again, turning to look over its shoulder at the struggling students, teacher, and the possibly burning bridge. "Well?" If worse came to worse, the machine was ready to take its own precautions to stop this student. As it was certain that Rachel could handle the students ahead.

Darius seemed entirely unfazed as the robot had joined him, even as it began doing its own thing. It was not that he trusted the thing, or its controller, without question. That would be foolish. However in the circumstance they now found themselves in, he knew the person enough to know betrayal was unlikely for the moment. As the robot would speak, he would only smile lightly to himself for the most part. "There would be little point to such a task, as in the halls of their school I have no doubt they can muster up compassion. They are trained killers, no matter what they may believe their reason for joining was once, and this merely reveals who they are on the inside. So it is not entirely unexpected from them. Still, it is good to know that Lunia seems to be apart from the others in that regard." Darius would calmly respond, revealing a little of his views of the school and that he somehow already knew Lunia. Research and time had allowed him particular insight on that individual. Darius was not to be distracted from his goal, knowing the chaos and confusion could only last so long. Time was their enemy, and so he didn't give the machine a second glance as it began its preparations for a contingency when the ice wall inevitably fell. His eyes were locked on the prize behind the window. Hearing the news made Darius smile further, but chose not to comment for now. 'At least the others have proved their competence.' He thought to himself, hearing the chaos now that his associate had begun his part of the plan. He knew not what the machine had done to sow chaos, but it mattered little so long as the plan was carried out. Nitpicking over every detail was pointless in a plan meant for adaptability. 'Perhaps I shall need to work with them in future.' He thought fleetingly.

The robot would comment on their informant providing good information, to which Darius only nodded in response. Had their been nothing of value from this task the world would've soon been rid of one inept informant, but this one seems to have proved his worth to continue to live. Soon he and the machine would have the door open, and the veritable gold mine at their disposal. While Darius had never specialized in hacking from technology to retrieve information, he knew his associate was well versed. Especially with this model of machine they chose to send for the task. It was why his first thought was for the robot to go and gather intel. While all this certainly looked valuable, they had no clue to be sure without research. And he would much rather ensure they got what they needed now rather than find out later they missed something of importance. The controller seemed to have an interesting sense of humor to their responses, but complied nonetheless while warning him that they may be opening pandora's box. 'We shall just hope we find what we desire before the box empties itself entirely.' He thought to himself. In truth he had been expecting traps or something more to happen here, but perhaps it was simply that they hadn't triggered it yet. There was still the mysterious hallway that led away as well, but he had to secure what he knew could be valuable first. With the first three in his pack, he looked at the yellow and cyan canister still remaining. Little space in his bag, but he could adapt. He would take those two down as well and attach them to the side of his pack. He had an idea for a few of them, and if he could get more info on them perhaps he could learn more use for them too.

"Find anything useful, or is it all just old lab gossip?" Darius would ask, curious but making light of the situation a little bit. So far things had gone well enough. However, not too long after, he heard a crash followed by the sound of pounding footsteps. He barely turned to look to the window and door when he found it slammed shut. A frown would cross his face, even as he noticed a hard light wall appear just a little too late. "It seems one student was unlucky enough to get past our setbacks." He would say aloud calmly...but there was amusement in his voice. Despite how the plan was to go, he had been hoping someone would be able to push through so they could have some fun as well. However, there was slight disappointment in that it wasn't Lunia. 'Oh well, he will do.' He thought to himself as he would look back to his robotic companion. "It seems we have less time than anticipated. Oh well, he is acting as a barrier for us. When you are ready, I will need your help for us to move past him." Darius would say casually and aloud, unsure if the person outside the door could hear him, but it seemed like the guy wasn't even considered a threat to him. More so a minor nuisance if anything. And as Darius said all this, he would have his back to the one eyed man to show the robot what was now in his hand. Gravity dust and one of his smoke bombs, his second to last. Darius would smile, head to the door, and await his associate. He would need the machines help to open the thing with the man at the other side, but they wouldn't need to open it fully. Just wide enough for him to use his dust. When the robot would come to aid him, Ghost would activate his smoke bomb right by the door while covering his mouth and eyes with his cloak as smoke would envelop the room.

If they were able to open the door a bit with their combined strength, Ghost would throw his gravity dust just past the door to have it activate. The plan was to make the one eyed human super light with gravity, that he could no longer use his weight to help hold back the door and make it much easier for the two to push it open (perhaps even send him floating away) as he had no anchor point to actually use to push. Or Narx may accidentally push himself away because he was affected by the light gravity dust (assuming narx was affected). And that the smoke leaving through the opening from the smoke bomb would cover the fact that gravity dust would be used, to not alert him.
