Arian frowned thoughtfully for a moment as he considered Eunkyung's question.

"True," he said at last, as he saw the chances of either of them finding a seat slipping even further away. "It probably makes sense for us both to queue and then see if we can find somewhere after."

Because they'd lose the seats anyway, Arian found himself ruefully acknowledging, if one of them found a seat and then the other had to go up and fill in some missing information.

Surprisingly, however, there were a couple of seats once the two of them were done with the front desk - and the two of them were even next to each other.

A stroke of luck - or at least it seemed that way to Arian's way of thinking and people were getting called up too, which meant that mayhaps both Eunkyung and himself would be seen soon - or maybe that was wishful thinking given that there were still quite a few people in the waiting area with them–

He was not expecting the lights to suddenly go out, yelping slightly at the suddenness at it and then flushing as a voice called out something about there being a power cut "Sorry" he mumbled.

It took a bit of fumbling, but Arian managed to dig out his phone and turn on the torch app, noting that the battery was at around 52%

He frowned slightly as he noticed that the reception on the phone seemed flat, commenting quietly "The reception seems really bad here."

Ashley wasn't expecting to be called up so soon, particularly given the fact that there were a great number of people in front of her that were still waiting to get called up - but she also wasn't about to quibble about it–

Because after all, the sooner she was seen was the sooner she could go and so she had followed after the cheerful blonde nurse that had led her to a new waiting room and mentioned that the doctor would see them soon.

There hadn't been that many people in with her - at least not compared to the madness that was the main waiting room outside - and so Ashley had settled into a seat, glancing over those in there with her curiously as she mentally settled down to once again wait.

She was not expecting the lights to go out, her grey eyes narrowing in irritation even as a voice called out something about there being a power cut. Oh for... The annoyed thought was left unvoiced, as she waited for a few moments and then reached down into her jacket pocket and pulled out her phone, the tiny backlight enough for her to find and then finally thumb the torch light on.

A voice called out, asking if there was anyone there and Ashley moved the phone in the direction that it came from "I'm over here" she said, although she didn't move from her position.

Another frown, a thought occurring to her, "Shouldn't this place have some sort of generator or emergency back up or something kick in?" Because it was an urgent care centre and therefore a medical practice.

Once the paper work had been filled out EunKyung was happy to be seated, even if the place was packed and many were sick. She didn't want to really get something, some cold, anyone else had and she did wonder if they didn't have an area just for those who weren't sick to wait. She didn't have too long to wait though, at least it didn't feel like that long, before some people were being moved off to a back area.

"I guess a lot of space freed up..." But how? No one was leaving, unless they were leaving via another means of entrance and exit? The place couldn't be that big, right? Or had they always had the room in the back but just had so much paper work to sort through? Were they understaffed that much?

Before she could voice these ideas the lights cut out. The power was dad and from with Arian was saying the reception was bad. "How bad?" Looking over towards the windows she noticed it wasn't storming outside so what killed the power? Maybe a car accident, or some sort of accident, not far from here? She hoped not...and yet she sort of hoped that was why, that it was something simple.

"Hopefully they get the power back on soon." The nurse, one of them, had said they'd have it on soon - right?

"I think so...I mean some medications and things need the cold also - right? Or machines that need to work...." They did need some machines here - right? It seemed like something even an urgent care would have, at least to him.

Shifting and sliding off the bed, using his phones light to guide him, he made his way towards the female. "Best we stick together and not move too much - we might just trip and get hurt." And he was already sick; he did not need to get hurt too.

Shivering he coughed into his shoulder, turning his head in order to do so. "I wonder if there are any nurses around...or did they all go to work on the power...." Which wouldn't make sense. Why would any of them go? Aside from maybe one just to talk to whoever, a maintenance person, was working on restoring power so they could update everyone else. The rest should be with them - right? Assuring them it was all ok and making sure they were ok, health wise. It would make sense but he didn't hear any nurses...though he had heard some shuffling. So maybe they were as lost as the rest of them and they were trying to sort themselves out. But why not talk and speak up - say something?

"Hopefully the power comes back on soon or we get an update." And maybe a nurse holding a flashlight to watch over them?

Cabhan Douglas

It really was super cool to meet more people he could converse with, no concerns of saying too much or anything. "Cav's fine," he chirped, amused as he watched Omorose's hands move over the other man's face. If he were feeling daring, he'd comment of how Jericho almost seemed to be all bark and no bite around pretty ladies. But he valued his skin, and was very aware that the other knew where he slept--not to mention was now the Captain he was frequently reporting to--so kept his mouth shut. "I'd be happy to work with you, definitely~ Good company can make things go all the faster. And I'd love to hear more about your gardening."

Around them, people were grumbling and shouting--with good reason--and eventually, some began to be directed out of the room. "Oh! Some progress?" As his name was called, he gave a grin to Omorose and Jericho. "We'll see how long this takes, I suppose. I'll meet you back out here after I'm patched up then." Didn't see the reason for Jericho to accompany him, after all. He followed the nurse and hummed slightly at the new room he was lead to, lifting a slender brow at the reasonable time notion. He took a new seat, checking the towel wrapped around his injured arm, and sighed. He'd been hoping this would be a quick evening...

...and there went the lights. He thought briefly of Star Hospital as he fished out his cell phone, using the light to help illuminate the annoyed faces around him. One woman was ready to go--didn't blame her--and one guy (Erich) mentioned mechanical animal mech to which Cabhan gave a small laugh. "I'm not sure if Baby, Chika, or Freddie will be popping up in a clinic any time soon. Puppet, maybe." He lounged back in the chair and stretched his legs. Annoyed, but calm. Least he didn't have a reason to get upset on the situation. Well. Minus the weird... total pitch darkness of the place.

"Where are the emergency lights? Or backup generators? Aren't medical facilities supposed to have that sort of stuff?" He checked his phone and clicked his tongue. Not even a signal. Great....

There was a part of him that felt a bit of morbid curiosity about how memories worked for those brought into the Negaverse's fold as the two senshi were. What information stayed, what didn't. How much of the information on gardening was learned with these new memories, and what was retained--if anything at all? That she stated she didn't remember if she had training on first aid and self-defense didn't exactly mean much. She might not have known that before, either. But at least someone was starting to give her training. "Might have to start some for you soon, if this is the sort of mishaps you have."

His expression turned a bit deadpan as she began to smoosh his cheeks of all things, slightly glowering at her from where he knelt. She was... an odd one. Hands-on, like Cass, though certainly her own brand of tactile. Softer? He wasn't sure, and he nipped lighty at her fingertips to release his head from her hold. A playful response, almost.

As he pulled back, he caught sight of something further down the hall, and squinted his eyes. Something... moving? Cabhan was called, and he gave a simple grunt of acknowledgment before standing. "Do you see that?" His words were directed to Omorose, beginning to step in the direction of... whatever was down the hall. "I'll be right back." He continued to move towards it, squinting and trying to get a better grasp of what it was--an injured patient? That was the first thought on his mind, though youma sure as hell popped up considering the city. The very concept made him pick up the pace, only to start cussing when the freaking lights went out.

He immediately dragged out his cell and used the flashlight on there to illuminate his way, still searching for... whatever that had been. "Omorose, you alright?" She did have a cell with a flashlight, right?

Toren Estel

Torin rolled his eyes at the snotty little comeback, well...one eye. Whenever he rolled his eyes the fake one failed to fully fall suit. "What do you want me to do? Harass the overworked staff more or start setting bones here in the waiting room?" He sighed. "It's always this packed here." He wasn't sure people not used to injuries understood that. It wasn't a McDonalds. Being the cheapest ootion for medical attention it was usually flooded with people at any hour. "You're only making everyone tense and more worried with shouting." There were young kids here and he felt suddenly old in their company.

And with an audible click of the breakers going out, the florescent lights flizzled as they all went out at once. Torin froze and then took a deep breath. It was one place to be in place like this with no windows and horrible echoes, but it being dark set off nightmarish memories for him.

"Just...wait for the backup generator." He called out into the dark for anyone concerned - and to himself.

He turned on the flashlight to his phone and got up, tense and pale now as he movef to the front desk.

There was no one there.

"Hello?"

Otto Moor

The reassurance should have made him feel better, but Otto's hands tightened around hers where it rested in his lap, eyes widening at the mention of chains. There was that instant awful impulse to ask her to elaborate, but he had to bite his tongue, nodding at the request to save the rest of the conversation for home. "Of course."

It would have to wait either way, a nurse had stepped in to call himself as well as a handful of other people back. Otto chuckled lightly atDessy's remark, giving a hum of agreement and falling into line with the rest of the people making their way back.

However instead of being led back to individual rooms, they were all ushered into what appeared to bea smaller waiting room. With asigh Otto claimed a bit of wall, leaving the chair beside it for Des. As the nurse left again he shot a pointed stare down at the girl before glancingat the folks they'r they'd be closed in with. "It's really starting to feel like we'll be here all night," he said softly to his companion, eyes closing as he tipped his head back against the wall. How much terrible would we be in with Chase if we called in tomorrow?

And then the lights went out.

At first Otto assumed someone must have leaned against the light switch, but there was no light. Nothing blocking on any of the machines, no light seeing beneath the door, nothing.

There wasa question about emergency lights and generators, but Otto couldn't see who had asked it. Another voice grumbled over a lack of cell service. None of that really matters in the end becauseD Des had apparently reached get limit and she was pulling on hi his hand and turning on the flashlight for her phone. If they were leaving, that was just fine with him. "That's fine with me." He hadn't wanted to be there anyways.

Toby

Admittedly, Toby would have found the antics of his companion to be thoroughly hilarious…if he wasn’t so concerned she’d barf all over him or something.

As it was, his face showed more concern than mirth. “Okay,” he said soothingly, ignoring most of what she was saying. “Let’s get you in a chair over here…”

Of course, her poor attempts at censoring herself just made him laugh, so he wasn’t completely immune to what was going on.

And then the lights went out.

“What in the world,” he muttered, “Is a ‘trice’?” Then he nodded—not that anyone could see that—and said more clearly, “Yeah, I’m still here. Hang on, let me get out my phone…” After a bit of shuffling around, he produced one, with a softly glowing 12:00 visible before he lit it up. “Huh. Weird, no signal?” Still, there was some light.

“Okay, let’s sit you down…”

Desdemona Jacobs

Dessie just shrugged and absently watched the other sick and injured. Ian was pretty astute, he knew that Xander would get involved with her self applied patch job but he was mistaken in thinking he would get out of the check up too. They both would be checked, patched, and scolded. Not just her, though she might get scolded more so then Ian since there was no way in hell she was letting any of these creepy nurses or doctors touch her.

Geeze, they needed to take courses in 'how not to be strange'. Dessie's chilly blue eyes silently tracked the clinic personnel, unable to shake the vibe she was getting from the whole place. Her observations were cut off by Ian asking if she recognized anyone... a two folded question. One that drew her attention back to the patients waiting to be seen.

"I don't think so," Like him she kept her voice to a mutter. "You?" She might have passed these people on the streets, maybe interacted with them while busking... or fought with them, or against them, as a senshi. But humanity tended to blend together for her so unless the interaction was memorable or multiple she didn't always connect faces and names. Her thoughts were interrupted by a power outage, a suspicious power outage.

She froze in the darkness, the urge to act already had her slipping her hand into her pocket and fingering the henshin pen hidden there. She heard the others mutter in surprise, the nurse call out platitudes, and Ian whispering 'I don't like this'. Man was that an understatement! No power, no connection, and no one knowing where they were. ********.

"No," She said quietly, absently covering his hand that gripped his phone. "Let your eyes adjust, there are things that hide in the dark." Besides there were others who were using their phone lights, people who were making targets of themselves. "You might not have a connection but send a text anyway... just in case." It was a worse case scenario, a text being sent posthumously but it would at least let them know.

Someone called out, telling them to wait for the backup generators but Dessie had a feeling there were no generators... no clinic or hospital worth their salt wouldn't already be up and running, at least they would be on emergency lights.

"Let's move somewhere a bit more defensible. I don't like how open we are right now." The blonde muttered quietly to her companion.

"That... that was a scream..." Sam turned a little white, holding her arm closer but causing pain to jolt through her broken wrist from the instinctive reaction. She grimaced, but was not sure if she really wanted to stay here and get treated when people were screaming like that...

Even if they did not use... whatever those methods were on her, she doubted she could be comfortable just hearing things like that. She did not remember, in her other trips to the hospital due to Senshi'ing fails on her part, hearing anything like that before.

Not after the battles, once she had calmed down, anyway.

"I'm not sure," she said, looking at her new companion and shaking her head, trying to mask that she was shivering, "but I don't think I like it very much. It is so far a very unpleasant experience. Besides saying hello to you, of course. I... I didn't mean to imply-"

Her awkward bumbling was interrupted as the lights shut off. She let out an involuntary yelp of fear, reaching for and grabbing on to Jack's arm in the darkness with her good hand. Another yelp indicated she realized what she did and quickly let go of said arm, pulling her hand back and using it to cover her own mouth so no more embarrassing sounds got out.

"T-the lights..." she managed, though it was muffled by her hand.

"Sadie? That's a very nice name! I'm Grant!"

"Infected? Oh no!" Grant looked honestly concerned, as if he had somehow been invested in her recovery so far and was now surprised to hear it was not going well. He wanted only the best for her, but he was much like a dog or a cat in that way. It really did not take much for him to bond to someone eternally.

"Well, hopefully you'll be on the road to recovery from now on, and it'll heal up nicely!"

He smiled brightly at her, with a reassuring nod, but his efforts to make friends were cut short as a nurse offered to guide him to another waiting area. He looked at his companion, thinking maybe she should come along with him, as he was not here to see any doctors and was just looking for a friend.

Maybe she could take his place in line? Oh, he hated causing confusion!

Always one to follow orders, though, Grant dutifully moved as the nurse directed. This space seemed much more... comfortable, and there were fewer people around to drown out conversations. Not that he minded, it just got loud sometimes and that made it hard to hear people talking to him.

Oh. The power went out. That was probably not good, for a hospital. Hopefully they had back up generators.

"I'm over here, too!" He said cheerfully, at the two voices in the suddenly dark room. One of the voices, who he spotted with a light in hand and moved toward like a moth to flame, spoke his thoughts out loud and he nodded eagerly. "I was thinking that, as well! Aren't there patients that need things that are plugged in? I hope everyone is okay!"

"Oh, flash lights," he saw the other voice, a male who seemed to be quite sick, had done the same thing and used his phone as a light. "Great idea, guys! I'll use mine, too!" He pulled his phone from his pocket and turned on the flash light, though it did not seem to light up quite as much as he would have expected.

This was serious darkness.

"Uhm. I have music on my phone. Would you guys like to listen? Might make things a little less creepy. It's Disney!"

Jacqueline "Jack" Maaz

That shooting was... disconcerting. To say the least. Jack had turned to stare at the double doors to the clinic floor with a contemplative, concerned look. "Yeah, I'm not.." She trailed off as a familiar voice pricked at her interest and turned slowly to look towards the doors at who had just stepped through them.

"K-Katie?" She thought it was her, at least. She hadn't seen her in a long time, over a year she thought. "Are you okay?"

She was about to get up, had even put a hand on the arm of the girl she was sitting beside to let her know she'd be right back, but before she could do anything the lights died, plunging them all into darkness, and she felt a hand on her arm before she heard a yelp and felt it draw back.

So jack reached out instead to rest her hand on the other girl's shoulder, trying to be comforting even as her in anxiety started to rise.

Alphonse Wingates-St. Grey

Alphonse sighed silently in relief as he watched not one but two groups being called. It made him feel like things were finally moving. Granted, he had quite a few people he saw that were here before him that still had not been addressed yet.

He wondered how long he would be here. He had no idea things were about to get much worse.

Then the lights went out.

Now an audible sigh could be heard from Alphonse as he put his face into his palms wincing in pain as it touched the wrong hand.

Now what?

Zachariah Faulkner

A while?

Zachariah checked the clock again. He supposed they must have been. They had already been sitting there when Zachariah had noticed them, and they seemed like they had settled into that position. That was closer to eleven o'clock. It was now nearly midnight. He would think doing triage on a missing eye would be a higher priority than this--

Oh who the <********> was bitching now?

Zachariah's eyes rolled in the direction of a small man who already had bandages on his arm. He really did not look like he needed any major assistance. To be scolded on impatience by someone who did not look like they needed any major assistance was grating at best. His instinct was to snap, but Rhys had already spoken up, and he did not feel the need to steal the other man's thunder.

It's always packed here. Sure, but this long of a wait for a missing eye?

It was not even worthy of a response, and Zachariah shifted, instead paying mind to the people next to him and the people being taken back around the room. It was interesting the selections they were making. Zachariah could not find any particular pattern to them, but perhaps they were just trying to spread out the crowd a bit--

At the sudden sound of everything powering down at once, Zachariah audibly groaned.

Could this night get any ******** worse?

Zachariah fished his phone out of his pocket, turning on the phone flashlight. The darkness was so heavy that not even the LEDs on his phone could properly penetrate it. That seemed like a problem. It was especially a problem combined with the lack of signal that showed on his phone, so he could not even call and b***h at the power company...

"And to make it worse, no phone signal. Nice." Not so nice. "Do they not have some ******** backup power?"

Toren Estel

Leaning on the nurses desk, he waited for the doors to open but nothing came. Strangely he didn't even hear the rushing of staff moving behind the doors or the chiming of medical equipment going off from lacking power. It was wuiet which was the first time he heard such silence at The Center the times he had walked in. Even the geberators hadn't kicked in all this time which made him feel sick to his stomach to image those on oxygen and mechanical assistance.

He cupped his mouth as he took deep breathes at the feeling of darkness and closed walls. Of echoes and being in the gut down below. Of blood and burning -

He took a deep breath and looked around when he heard someone say they had no signal. He checked his own phone and he sae he had no bars. Strange. No power didn't mean he shouldn't have a signal. Maybe someone hit a telephone tower that took out the power?

Surely someone else with another phone provider could call 911 and tell them what was happening.

"Anyone have any signal?" He asked.

Desdemona had never been more relieved that Otto was so utterly uninterested in seeing a doctor - and they probably still would, but it would wait for morning. She would get up early and make a few calls, or maybe just bite the bullet and give Chase a call. Surely he'd know someone reliable. It would mean Otto would have to hear about it, but maybe it served him right for slacking on his treatment in the first place.

All of this was running through her head, clear and logical, up until she reached the door and grabbed the handle. When it refused to turn, her mind went blank - she tried harder, shaking at the handle, trying to work it because maybe it was jammed or tricky or -

"It's locked, " she said suddenly, her eyes widening a fraction. Dread churned in her stomach, and fruitlessly, she tried again, more aggressively this time. "They locked the door? Why would they - " There was a tremor to her voice; she took a moment and shut her eyes as though that did anything to shut out the darkness and the memories of all her weeks spent locked in it. Instead, she sucked in a long, slow breath and tried to relax. This was not that. "Maybe the locks are electric. - seems short-sighted of a hospital, but given the stellar service we've gotten up until now - "

Even as she tried to rationalize it, the room already felt smaller.
