Kieran - 5Kieran reached down so that he could grab his wife's hand and give it a squeeze. He was surprisingly proud at how boldly she was standing up to those shifters and in fact a part of him was feeling rather furious at their stupidity, "Not everyone has to listen, just enough of us to fight." He replied quietly before fixing a stare towards the Shifters, "Strange though to think that you'd be fine with something worse than the Alkidikes roaming your homeland. What do you think will happen to your children and loved ones once their done with the Alkidikes? Sounds like you're just running away from the problem instead of having the nerve to deal with it." It was a challenge and rather bold, but Kieran's gaze was burning as he stared down those who had spoken up. In fact, his gaze was so adamant that it did cause one or two to actually take a shameful step backwards. Others of course would stay in denial, but how could one hope to burn through years of hatred with just a few words?

Taijana ll 6
The little yaeli woman held onto her husband's hand like a lifeline. Despite her apparent 'bravery' she was shaking, and it was taking everything in her to keep the farce up. "Yes, but if they would just help..." No one knew those jungles or what the 'true' face of the alkidike was like the shifters. She didn't trust the alk to lead them through the area without killing them, so she'd turned to Antiope's people, but if they weren't willing to step up...
"It's shameful," She murmured just low enough for Kieran to hear. Taijana understood fear better than most, but even she wasn't going to let it stand in her way.

Koril post 6 "I'm Koril," he chirped to the woman. With Prala's question, his expression fell. That day... "Y-yeah.. I was." Brow knitting, his gaze shifted away. Though it had been some time now, he could still remember the meeting in Zena. Horrible... He looked at Shierra with a frown, and then back to Prala. "I don't want to fight.... but I can't sit by while the Dretch threaten everyone. ..Our papa was made free because someone decided to finally stand up to the bad guy." Looking at Shierra, he put his arm back around her. "If there is a journey to Jauhar, you're gonna need to stay home. Someone needs ta watch out for mama and the others."

Kieran - 6
"Just have faith." Kieran replied as he rubbed his thumb along his wife's fingers, "I'm sure they'll come around. Maybe not today but eventually." Everyone always chose survival after all. When the fires of necessity were burning behind them then they would move. That much he was certain of.
For now though he could only nod his head in agreement. It was shameful. To think that so many lives were at risk but still there were those too cowardly, too hateful, and selfish to stand up

 || Oba IC ||
“Do you really think they won’t take the chance to stab us in the back?”
“We dealt with them once we’ll just deal with them again after this mess. I’m not afraid!”
While things were beginning to settle it still appeared that some were hesitant, if not adamant, against helping the Alkidikes. That was something which Besian could not blame them for as it would involve risking their own lives for those that had mistreated them in the past. He knew very well how many earthlings were still treated as inferior to the Sisters and several in the crowd would continue reminding others about it as they protested against aiding the Alk. But necessity was stronger than any ill feelings between races, that much he recognized, and it was that realization which he hoped would get the aid they needed to fight these Dretch.
“Enough! Everyone has spoken their minds and we respect your input. However, we must put an end to this debate and vote on whether or not we are willing to aid the Alkidikes.” He glanced around at the crowd, “I for one will not back down from this fight. Oba made mistakes in the past and were it Oba instead of the Alkidikes in danger I could only hope that others would look beyond the past to come to our aid. So I will show the Alks that courtesy by aiding them now.”
“Thank you, Besian.” Antiope gave him a thankful smile before walking forward, “Now I know that many of you fear the Alkidikes but let me tell you about what Suhuba has told me of the Dretch. They are creatures of great darkness that can teleport from one place to another faster than you can blink, we’ve witnessed that with the first of the kidnappings, but their powers go beyond that.” She shook her head fearfully, “I have heard stories of how they have taken souls from earthlings, destroyed minds, corrupted beasts, and no stories with them end well for any earthling. These creatures hold the power of great darkness and their magic will not stop once the Alkidikes are gone. This is why we must join together so that we can save our countries and protect those that we love. So I beg of you to remember those you wish to protect when voting!”
The Yaeli priest nodded, his gaze somber as he reflected upon the dangers of the Dretch, “I agree. While I do not wish for my people to risk themselves I will not stop those who wish to fight for the greater good. I pray the gods’ blessing upon us all as we partake in this test to save our world. I do not trust the demons who invaded our lands, but if the gods wish for us to step forward to aid these lands then it must be done.”
“So we vote.” Naria crossed her arms as she studied the crowds, “Think carefully about your decisions since this can change everything! I for one am with the rest and will be fighting so brace yourselves!”

Prala || Post 7
"Well met, Koril" Prala responded simply. She nodded at his words, her face reflecting his as he recalled the fiasco in Zena. It had been horrible, although she had managed to put it out of her mind for a long time. This gathering brought the memories forward freshly. She didn't have anyone left to protect, no one to mourn her if she was lost to this cause. She had taken that as an excuse to ignore the issue for quite some time now, the Dretch left her alone, so she left them alone. But, hearing about the plight of the Alkidike reminded her that she did have ties, strong ones, to her home back in Juahar. Perhaps not to the people in particular, but she did care about what happened there, and she wouldn't tolerate the Dretch making her home unsafe. The Alkidike could not all be held accountable for the actions of a few. She shifter her weight and raised her hand as the leaders called for a vote. "I vote we go!" she said firmly. Lowering her hand again, she crossed her arms, "If we cannot all do it for humanitarian reasons, then think selfishly. There is no reason the Dretch would continue to confine these kidnappings to one group for long, and we still have no idea what the do with the victims. For all we know, this is just the beginning of their plan, we need to stomp them out before they gain more power."

Aylin || Post 2
Aylin had stood by and listened while the uproar swept through the crowd- in some small way she was relieved that the Dretch were targeting the Alkidikes only in the sense that it meant her own town likely wasn't being threatened. It sickened her to realize this, and her mind shoved the feeling away in disgust.
She wasn't just going to stand by and do nothing. She knew Alkidikes and half-breeds alike personally, maybe even consider one or two a friend. It appeared as though it was finally time for her to return home to Jauhar. She straightened her shoulders resolutely and summoned the will to speak out and join her voice to others', "I too will fight! Despite whatever sorted history the Alkidike may have, no one should be terrorized in this way and I refuse to stand idly by."

Saraf Post 6 Lifting a hand up Saraf called out to those in charge as well as any that were around him, "If it helps to get things moving I can volunteer some soldiers from Outcast Unit if you will have us." He doubted that Captain Jinx would be against helping, though the entire unit wouldn't be able to go. They had to continue with their normal work after all. Bandits weren't going to quit just because they were told that the army needed to fight the Dretch, not them. If anything they would just get worse because those keeping them in line weren't present. Either way though he'd leave it up to those in charge. They weren't exactly the ideal given that their unit was made up of all sorts of less wanted sorts such as ex-criminals for instance. Still, could people really afford to be picky when going against a dangerous group like the Dretch? Would they really say 'no' to the Outcast Unit when they needed whatever help they could get after all? Looking over at Tytus he said quietly, "Whatever helps speed this along or else we are going to be chasing our tails into the night." Not something he felt doing.

Shesha Post 5 Giving a bit of a shake of his head he glanced around, then back to those in charge, "I think the idea of going to war at this point in time is foolish, there is nothing in it for us. We know nothing about the enemy and would just be throwing our soldiers onto their blades. We've seen what they can do first hand, able to just appear and disappear. Maybe we should wait until the Alkidike actually share some secrets with us about the enemy and we can talk then." Not that he meant to go regardless whether they knew everything or not, he just saw no point at all to risk himself for such a thing. He had better things to do, at the same time he didn't like the idea of wasting their soldiers on such a war. Looking over at Aqio he said, "Such a waste of our people, both the Obans and Matori... as well as everything here. We know that they can just appear and disappear, meaning that they can likely just appear behind someone and stab them in the back better then any assassin." Nose wrinkling a bit he muttered, "I can tell you from personal experience that getting stabbed in the back is no fun and the one that came after me didn't have such magic."

Gahiji Post 6 Gahiji turned toward Adenah, giving her a smile, "Heh, yeah. Exactly." She had that right, better to fight then have to stand face to face with a Dretch that would just grab you up and drag you away when you weren't ready. He knew he'd rather go down fighting then just have something take him down while he slept or something equally as pathetic as all of that. He wanted to go down in battle against something big and dangerous. He'd prefer it be a massive, powerful beast, but he supposed the Dretch might be alright too. As it finally seemed time to vote Gahiji called out, "Let's do it! Let's fight the Dretch! I will do so now if you want me to!" He brought his fists together in front of him, looking eager to get to fighting right away. Even if the fight wasn't going to start straight away he'd just have to find some fights elsewhere until the battle with the Dretch began. Given how many warriors were gathered he was pretty sure that someone among them would be up for it!

Shierra post 8 Shierra opened her mouth to object to her brother's order, but paused. Someone would have to look out for everyone else. Surely papa was going to fight, and if Koril went.. Would Kyril go, too? "We'll see who all goes," she replied obstinately. With the call for a vote, Shierra immediately put a fist in the air. "We'll go!" A couple other voices she heard were right though... "We'll go once we know something!" She was fine going into a fight blind, but to think of her father and brother doing so, or any of her other siblings...

Koril post 7 He pursed his lips at his sibling, but said nothing more. It really would depend on who all went to support the Alks from their family. "I'll go," he called, raising his hand as well. To be honest, his hand shook a little as it briefly hovered. Thinking about entering an actual war... He hated fights, but he could not just sit by...

Shesha Post 6 The silence from Aqio made Shesha twitch slightly, giving him a glance, before giving a little hiss under his breath. Silence from his fish, was it? He shook his head before looking forward once more, one hand resting on his hip, his eyes narrowing a bit. There seemed to be too many that were agreeing to help, something that annoyed him a bit. How many of those present would end up dead because they made foolish choices at this juncture? "I can't believe that they would throw themselves into such a battle, one in which they have zero information on their enemy. They might as well be flailing at specters and hoping their blows will land." He muttered, teeth gritting slightly. Giving a shake of his head as he tried to clear such thoughts he muttered, "No, forget it. It's not as though it matters. They aren't my concern, I don't need them going forward, so I shouldn't care if they rush to their deaths." Why should he worry himself over people he'd likely never even speak with on a normal day after all. Glancing back to Aqio once more he said, "We should head for home. I grow tired of all of this, little fish. If I stay around them any longer I feel I will catch whatever has caused them all to lose control of their senses." Let them do as they liked, he didn't care one way or the other. If anything maybe it would clear the way for him going forward.

Tytus Post 7 The Outcast Unit. Tytus found himself raising a curious brow. That definitely seemed to be a fun group - he had heard rumors but never expected the well behaved man who seemed also so serious to be a part of such a Unit. Still the lancer could only shrug his shoulders before nodding his agreement, "Seems I don't mind offering a hand either!" He called out with a grin - after all who didn't enjoy a good challenge? His fingers tightened around the cool metal of his lance and the Oban did have one flickering thought, a thought of the very dear woman and children they had together. It was more for them and their safety that he would fight. "So true." Tytus nodded, "But I'm sure those suckers are tricky to catch, we'll have to find out more about them first." Maybe they had a hide out that they could track down? Burn them out for good...now that would be a grand victory for all of Tendaji.
