At this point, Sarai started something that shall affect how the two of them interact with each other. It started mostly friendly, perhaps with a bit of flirting, and the two of them were enjoying each other's company. Sarai means what she said to Emma at the end. She finds her intriguing, from how captivating she is in her eyes from the outside to the goodness of her heart on the inside. Within the heart also lies a sense of adventure that Sarai feels can make their lives feel dynamic. Of course, it all depends on what Emma's response to Sarai's somewhat bold request. She could have done something more, but the last thing the barracks needed is someone to complain about how one of the guards did not behave in a professional manner. The response from Emma was more direct than Sarai anticipated. The barmaid simply stated that the redheaded guard could ask if she would be hers. That is an easy enough task, but why ask when she could something else? Now that Sarai knows for certain that Emma has mutual feelings toward each other, it is the right time for her to be bold. This could also end in disaster, but at least Sarai would be honest. Instead of asking, she stood up from her table, moved closer to Emma, cupped her face and kissed her on the lips without asking. Their lips remained in contact with one another for a few minutes before she let go of the barmaid and returned to her seat at the other side of the table. A confident grin formed on Sarai's lips before she said to Emma,
"I didn't want to ask. I prefer to do things with more passion than just asking. I would've done that sooner if I wasn't a guard."
No matter how long it took for Emma to recover from what may have been a surprise kiss, Sarai had to start eating the food that Emma provided for her. Once again, the food is better here than at the barracks, but that was to be expected. From this point on, they had to figure when would be the best days for them to see each other that was not just the two of them at the tavern. Maybe someday the two of them can go beyond the city for some time when they accrue enough free time to travel. If Emma agrees to go with Sarai to the wilderness, the redheaded guard can see the potential to develop a deeper connection from being alone with each other away from the city. Of course, Sarai has to take into consideration what Emma would like to do as well. Unfortunately, Sarai had to return the barracks, but not before giving the barmaid a farewell kiss.

Guess it was too good to be true, apparently. Azura would actually just be places back at square one in terms of funds. How else was he going to make money if he can’t hunt bounties alive? Then again, Azura did not really think it would be a good idea in general. Yeah, that’s fine. Thanks anyway. Azura said, placing his gold coin on the table to pay for the food and drink before finishing the bowl in an instant. Only five coins left... I should come back and ask for a job, really. Azura thought, maybe working as the bard here. After that, he would leave as he would have to be ready for class tomorrow. ((Exits for the next day))
"Hey there, ladies and gents. As much as I like to attend the graduation ceremony, my father ended up being injured because of a recent accident, having a broken arm, thus I have to stay behind and work overtime in the tavern. However, graduates will be given something special; there will be discount coupons for the services inside the Jolly Tavern and Inn, but it is one-time only, valid until next week. I have asked the princess to be the one responsible for giving the graduates the coupons once the ceremony will be over.
To all the graduates, congratulations! Though you may have finished your next chapter as a student in the academy, education in life is way far from over, and you still have a lot to learn in the outside world, whether it's during a job or progressing towards S-class. Nonetheless, good luck as you turn to the next page in the book of life!
Sincerely yours, Kayne Nightroad Professor of Cooking, Chef of Jolly Tavern and Inn."
That was what he wrote on the poster of the bulletin board, even inside the excuse letter that he had to give to Gannon and Lerato since both would be at the ceremony, and he was hoping that everyone would take a glimpse of it before he had to focus on work. His father was currently giving him commands on extra tasks to accomplish for that tavern; there was only so much that the elderly man would do with just one arm without the bandages. The renovation for the kitchen was almost done, but there was still a lot to be done; hopefully before the graduates would consider visiting the tavern, it would be done. Sweat was forming as his forehead as and Kayne had to wipe it off with a towel. God, he was indeed perspiring like a damp patch of grass under the rain, but he could handle the extra work for another hour.
But after that, Kayne would need a break. Some snacks and a drink would be nice, as he had a limit for what the chef would endure, even without his raiment at work.

-- Day Flip, Day After the Graduation Ceremony --
Because of Kayne staying up all night to continue on with his renovation in the kitchen, it was almost complete, but fatigue was starting to get to him and he needed a few hours of shut-eye. He yawned, having to retreat to his bedroom once the sun was rising, a sign of morning coming through. Last night, the tavern had to be closed early, and now, the business would be unavailable, just for today and tomorrow, until the renovation would be completed. It was definitely an inconvenience for some people who would like to visit the tavern, but it had to be done. After freshening up with a quick bath, together with a change of clothes, he retreated to his own sleeping quarters, laying down on his bed.
He was thinking on how the graduates would enjoy the coupons, but that would wait till later. Kayne yawned, an indication that he should get some sleep, and that was what he did. Brunch would later be served by his mom once he was rested enough to regain some energy. Being a hard worker he was, determination was important, but there was a need for a reprieve.

Ten hours left before the re-opening of the tavern, and the renovation of the kitchen was left just a few of the final touches, including the addition of another oven - slash - roaster to prepare meats and bread based on what's available in season and based on clients' special requests (if that would be accepted, of course, as there were some that he just couldn't do based on his skill level). His father was in a much better health, asked to take things easy, and Kayne was doing the same thing, taking a break every now and then. But nonetheless, the hard work would soon bear fruit, and it would be back to business as usual until it was time to take a rest. More rules would be introduced for the safety of both sides, and to lessen the chances of disasters occurring just outside the place. After all, order was still a must even though Kayne was cool with merriment.
The celebration was the thing keeping him going, and it left him with a smile on his face. Right now, he was drinking water to quench his thirst, aside from wiping his sweat with a cloth.

[ - Begin New Interaction for New RP Day - ]
Emma awoke with a smile. Arms aching a bit from the hours of washing linens the day before, she groaned lightly as she stretched. Who said that love wasn’t work? Not that she was complaining – she’d gotten to spend the whole day with Sarai. Granted it had been time at the barracks, working, but Emma and Sarai had had time to chat and laugh and just be together and that was good enough for her. Although it still didn’t count as a ‘romantic date’.
After grabbing a set of clothes to change into, Emma headed for the baths to clean up and get refreshed for the day. After the kitchen renovation, The Jolly Tavern and Inn was reopening. It would be several hours before they opened their doors for the dinner and evening crowd, but there was a lot to do before then. Cleaning, food prep, etc. Despite the brief reprieve, Emma was eager to get back to work. She enjoyed what she did and looked forward to catching up with all their regulars.
Dressed in one of her better work dresses, she came down to the dining area with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. She had a good feeling that today was going to be a very good day.
That was the longest boat ride ever. The small five-foot female thought the boat would never stop. When it finally did she was happy to be back on land. She noticed it was still dark and she was exhausted. She looked at the men unloading her bags. "Excuse me. Can you point me in a direction of an Inn or somewhere I can get something warm to eat and a bed to sleep in." She watched as one man pointed to the direction of the inn from the port. She grabbed up her bags as she began to walk toward the inn. She was attempting to keep her long dress up so she wouldn't trip on it. But at the same time, she was making sure she was hiding her legs.
After searching for some time she had finally found the inn. She entered the inn looking like she had been smacked with a tired stick. Her eyes were heavy almost but her stomach was also growling. She would rather eat before sleep. She looked around as she hoped they were willing to help serve a girl who was brought here in the middle of the night. "Hello? Is anyone awake? If not I can head back out." Her voice was very small as she was a shy little being. She was only used to socializing with her small village. People in a big city had her a bit scared. Her eyes finally landing on a lady entering the dining area. The woman was so lovely. Larina attempted to fix herself so she seemed like she was a sophisticated person. But her stomach was giving her away.

The water did help to re-hydrate him; the weather was warm and good, but proper liquid intake was still a necessary. Kayne was done wiping the perspiration, only to notice that Emma was here, feeling energized and excited. "Hey! Just in time, Emma! The kitchen is almost done, just needing a few final touches then we can re-open the tavern. I'm excited," he cheered, folding the towel neatly, though there was another female dropping by, presumably asking for service. "Hello! The tavern is actually going to be re-opened later tonight since the renovation is almost finished, but you may be tired from the trip, so for now, I may make an exception," he replied to the newcomer. It would depend on what the woman would request from them both.
The kitchen will not be operating after a few hours from now, but there are rooms available in case you need to sleep. Will that be okay?" he asked, hoping that the woman would be patient despite the inconvenience.

Emma smiled at Kayne’s enthusiasm and excitement. She didn’t blame him, a major kitchen renovation could make or break a place, but the update had been needed and Emma was confident that their customers would return despite the lull in service.
“I’m excited too, I cant wait to get back to work.” She said with a happy smile only to hear the door open. Looking toward the entrance she caught sight of a lovely young woman who looked like she’d just arrived in Eoana, luggage and all. Emma knew from experience that the girl must be tired and hungry.
Nodding at Kayne’s words, Emma stepped forward to help the woman with her bags. “Let’s get you a room, honey, you look ready to fall asleep on your feet.” She soothed. “I’ll take care of everything Kayne, you just worry about the reopening.” Emma said with a wink as she led the woman toward the stairs. Carrying one of the bags, Emma led the way to a vacant room.
“While you get settled in, I’ll run to the bakery to get you something to nibble on. Our kitchen is reopening tonight so we don’t have anything ready for customers, but I don’t mind running to get you something.” Setting the girl’s bag down, she turned and offered her hand.
“I’m Emma Forrester, by the way. I work here as a barmaid. My room is right down the hall if you need anything. Oh, and the washrooms are at the far end of the hall. Feel free to freshen up, okay?”
She placed her hands in front of her body as she looked at the male who was speaking with her. So food was not an option till later she was alright with that. She lowered her head as she gave a slight bow in respect to his kind words. "Thank you so much kind sir. I look forward to when it does open up and trying your dishes." She said as she raised her head again. She then looked toward the female as she gave her a gentle smile.
Larina followed the female as she guessed right the small female was ready for slumber as a rocking ship was not a way of comfortable sleeping arrangements. Larina was carrying a couple bags of hers which held things she brought from her home. Clothing would need to be bought while she was here as the bag the other female was carrying held the little clothes she had on her. She was a farm girl and some of her outfits would show that when she would put them on. She would look like a simple milkmaid of the country.
"Oh please let me come with you. I want to learn some things about Eoana while I am here. As well as to know when I can go to the academy and apply as a nurse." She said as she sat her things down on the bed. The woman soon introduced herself which got a gasp out of Larina. How silly of her to have not given a name before she said anything else. Where did her manners go? She bowed her head slightly allowing her hair to fall around her shoulders.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Emma. I am Larina Volsky. I would like to learn a few things. Like finding living accommodations for a home or do I need to live on the campus of the academy?" She said as she hooked arms for the female to lead the way to the bakery. Larina was like a cute little sister as she didn't even look her age.
Larina was so sweet, like a breath of fresh air. Smiling, Emma happily hooked arms with the young lady and led her from the tavern and out into the streets. “I’m not sure about the accommodations, but I think the Academy offers their staff living quarters…either on campus or in the housing district. Kayne would know for sure, he teaches at the Academy on occasion.” Emma wasn’t one hundred percent sure about the compensation for faculty, but she was sure she’d heard some of the staff that came in to see Kayne talking about it a while back.
“As for applying, I think you can just head to the Academy and ask to speak to one of the court mages in charge. They should be able to tell you all that you need to know – of we can ask Kayne to help, he should be able to organize an introduction. But first, lets get you something to nibble on and then a nap.” Emma said with a friendly smile as she led Larina into the bakery. The two girls bought several different types of pastries before heading back to the tavern, still arm-in-arm. Emma made sure to point out various shops and introduce Larina to various vendors as they passed.
By the time the two returned to the Jolly Tavern and Inn, they’d both eaten a few pastries each and spoken about all manner of things. It was strange but refreshing how easily it was to talk to the maiden about the City and her reasons for coming to Eoana a few short months prior. Emma hoped that even once Larina found what she wanted to do within the city, that the two of them could become close friends.
Leading the maiden back to her room, Emma stood in the doorway. “Now straight to bed…I’ll come check on you in a few hours, but you need some good old fashioned sleep. Don’t want to nod off in the middle of an important interview, right?” Emma said with a small smile and a wink. “Sleep well…” With that, she closed the door and headed back down to the main dining area to help Kayne with any last-minute prep before they reopened that evening.
Kayne smiled, allowing the guest to be escorted to the room before the rest of the work was done. With the two being outside, he had finished up most of the indoor chores, having to help out his parents when necessary. Having to help out Larina for the Academy-related manners may be good, but that may wait till another time, if the two weren't so preoccupied with themselves. One good thing about the tavern was about the bonds shared between other people, whether platonic or romantic, though there were cases in which such connections would be torn asunder. Like what happened back then, with Lerato's crestfallen look when Gannon broke up with him. The gray skies with the rain pouring down as he left--
Kayne shook his head; no, that was back in the past, and the professor should believe that the court mage would be healed, though it would still take time. Hours had passed, and food was cooked with the new kitchen set-up for the re-opening. There would be the bountiful feast with good drinks, though non-alcoholic options would be given to those who would opt out of beer or wine. And with the guest tucking in for the night, Emma had stepped in to help him out before the grand event.
Indeed, the night had just begun for the patrons, and hopefully, it would be a fun yet responsible occasion.

Larina had absorbed so much while coming back from the bakery. Once her stomach was full and she had said her thanks she prepared herself for slumber. Brushing out her hair and changing her attire to something to sleep in. In no time she was out. She didn't wake the rest of the day as she was lacking sleep and the bed had done her in.

Patrick Lockheart ~ Entering The Jolly Tavern and Inn ~
What a morning - Rick had decided to rise with the sun, hoping to get what he needed done early so he could perhaps head back into the Market District and play for the masses again - He'd enjoyed the people and experience so much and after a day of rest, he was ready for another go and pulled on his newest jacket so he was easily recognised before taking up his violin case.
Although there had been clouds in the sky, the Diviner had decided to take a chance, hoping that with the sticky humidity - and the fact that previous days had also been quite hot - that the sun would break through...but it wasn't until he reached the boarders of the Marketplace that he realised he'd made quite the mistake...
He should have recognised the signs, what with Branwen seeming less eager to join him this time and instead deciding to take a brief glide around the grounds before heading back in through the window which Rick had left open for her. Diving for the nearest point of cover, it was as he pushed open the door to The Jolly Tavern and Inn that he was hit with the most wondrous of aromas - it was right up there on par with Rosalyn's Bakery in terms of mouth-watering scents and as he took a moment to pull off his now quite sodden jacket, Patrick would take a glance around.
It was understandably quite empty for that time in the morning and as the Diviner slung his jacket over his arm, he would take a steady walk up to the bar - his eyes taking in every detail of the location for it had been quite some time since he'd ventured into the Tavern that he barely recognised it. Being younger his first visit had been another factor for his lack of visits to such a place, but now 18 Winters old, this could be a place he might just frequent?
"Anybody around?" Setting his violin case down on a nearby stool, Rick would lean against the bar - this had been something he'd definitely never done before - even if he'd followed his Uncles into Taverns around Valor, he'd been kept away from the bar as it was an "Adult Only" zone - But now he was 'of age' it didn't seem all that bad...

To describe the night of the re-opening basically, it was much of a lively night indeed. While some patrons had left the tavern because of the fact that it would be closed after a few hours of merriment. Only two patrons chose to stay for the night, and thankfully, they had not puked on the wooden floor; it would be difficult to clean the thing up and not all people would feel comfortable at the sight of that. And Kayne only took two mugs of light ale for the night alongside the, which was for the best, since he still had to show up at work to take care of the place. Today, he would do the usual duties, but first, there was several cartons of eggs ordered by his mother and they would later be delivered straight to his doorstep. That would be mostly for breakfast.
He was in the kitchen preparing the sausages to be pan-fried, separating them into manageable pieces for serving, when a male voice called out throughout the area. Immediately, Kayne put down his knife and wiped his hands with a towel, sauntering outside to check the newcomer. At the sight of the young man, he approached the counter and gave the other a friendly wave. "Good morning. What brings you here on this fine morning?"
