Myles - Fighting (3)

"Seen enough what?" Myles exclaimed, still somewhat aware of the conversation. Even if he was preoccupied with dealing with the poinsettias. They were having a toll on hime, and unlike her he didn't seem like he was processing the attack all that well.

He tried to move with her when she pulled him away, but two poinsettias at his ankle immediately threw him off balance. Even though he attempted to move with the woman, the plants had something else in mind and he quickly lost his balance. He was kicking them as best he could, trying to pry them from him even as they sapped his energy. He was fortunate enough not to be hit by any of the razor sharp leaves, but he was getting sleepy. He knew he had to keep fighting, but his movements were far less coordinated and he looked like it was a fight just to stay awake--much less try to fight or escape the poinsettias.

Kaefaux

Samir - Fighting (4)

"I wish!" Samir replied, attacking another poinsettia that approached them. He kept his back to Aubrey, thinking that they might be safer that way. He'd make sure nothing came at her back, and she could protect his. "This City never stops with the surprises!" he exclaimed. He looked around for something to help him, but there was nothing nearby.

Which, ultimately, was okay. He might have done better with something to help him, but he was managing all right. For now.

"You got that side, I'll get this one?"

Jeremy - Fighting (6)

Jeremy blinked when Steele left, but he couldn't blame him; that guy needed to keep his face pretty and his teeth straight; it was just business. Jeremy, though, felt obligate to stay and fight. Partially because of his uniform, and partially because it was just who he was.

He kicked a few poinsettias, stomping on them.

He didn't know where Caellum had gotten off to--and maybe that was for the best, if it meant that he was safe. Really, Jeremy could only see Jack--and even if the boy had given him trouble earlier, Jeremy couldn't just leave him there to be overwhelmed by plants. He made a quick path towards the kid. He shoved the poinsettias away and tried to heave the boy back to his feet while he continued to fend them off. "Hey--you okay?" he asked, even as he kicked at another flower and sent it sprawling. "Can you stand?"

He still couldn't see his brother and cast one more glance around the crowd; there were too many flowers and he couldn't afford the distraction. He swore under his breath as he attacked another one that came charging towards him.

Fingers crossed that Myles had more luck this time than he did the last.

(Aubrey- Fighting at a 6)

Since no lighter or any other weapon seemed to be readily available Aubrey nodded and moved so that Samir was too her back and kicked a hostile poinsettia away from Samir just as it was about to go for the back of his leg.

“You would think we see crazy plants trying to kill us all the time…” Aubrey murmured at the way they both seemed to naturally take up the defense without any screaming or flailing. Maybe Samir had a lot of training with his swords and therefore felt comfortable fending off the creatures, and her extensive background in martial arts was at least part of the reason for her calm demeanor.

“Sounds good, I’ve been needing some kick practice.” Aubrey exclaimed with a laugh, becoming exhilarated with the fight, even if it was plants and not people, it was certainly challenging enough to be fun, for now. She remained centered and kept Samir behind her, seeing how well he handled himself allowed her keep her focus forward instead of always having to look behind her.

Alexandre - fighting..though lightheaded from being swarmed once. Getting swarmed again.

He felt like he could have, and should, kick himself for not putting distance between Aiden and himself and the plants. They were glowing and this was Destiny City...nothing was ever normal and safe here. Damn it though, he hadn't heard of any plots and he had been so hopeful, had wanted to think some breakthrough had happened which caused the flowers to glow.

How wrong he was and he was too close to the plants, just reaching to claim one for himself, when they'd come alive and vines had taken hold of him. Pulling him down to the ground and...taking his energy! Really!? That was his job to do to people, not the other way around!

Cursing as he felt a wave of lightheadedness hit him, and damn was it strong, he managed a glance toward Aiden and to tell him to run, he needed to escape. This, whatever it was, wasn't good and he was clueless on it. He couldn't tell Aiden that, couldn't admit to knowing about even some of what happened in the city, he didn't want Aiden to know about his secret life.

It wasn't until the plant had let loose some sort of...energy orb, he was guessing, that he was free to go and he did. Scrambling backward, keeping his distance from the plant, he felt a wave of nausea wash over him as the world spun on it's axis. Being so lightheaded was no good, not with these plants attacking people.

When he did find himself near a table he grasped onto a chair and used it to help himself to his feet. The first thing his hand landed on, a plate, was thrown toward a nearby plant which seemed to have maybe taken an interest in him. He really had thought he'd hit the thing, it was close, but not good enough. In fact it seemed to have angered the plant and a few of it's friends, take that to mean several, and the white flowered plants came after him and thanks to no balance due to something called lightheadedness and vertigo, he tripped and landed right on his a**. Landing with a thud he was overrun by the plants and leaves, who would have thought a leaf so thin was so sturdy, started slashing at him. Cutting through the coat he wore and slicing across his face drawing blood. His pants were cut up and the edges of the slices stained red. So not just energy draining, and perhaps that was a good thing, though he had his eyes closed in order to avoid any of those razor like leaves from ruining his eyes. His face wasn't as lucky and several cuts had drawn blood that tracked down his face and dripped from his chin onto the collar of his white turtleneck and stained it.

As the plants continued his assault, his arms moving up to cover and protect his face from further damage, he shouted out toward where he'd last seen Aiden. "Get out of here, go for the parking lot! Run!" The words past his lips even as he tried to get himself free, only to find himself unable to at the moment.

Jack Burnett - (9) helped by Jeremy and finding a weapon (lighter)

"...Knew there was something weird about these things..." Jack grumbled to himself as the poinsettia plants proceeded to drain him of energy, leaving him light-headed. He thought he was going to black out until he felt someone shove the living, botanical nightmares off him and try to help him to his feet. The teen was both surprised and not surprised to find it was the police officer from before. He smiled weakly.

"Yeah...I'm okay, just a little dizzy. Thanks. Sorry I couldn't save your food, though," he murmured, staring at the plate on the ground he'd dropped when the vines had knocked him down. So much for not wanting to it to go to waste.

When he glanced back up at the cop, though, he noticed him look around frantically. "...Looking for someone?" he asked, suddenly feeling a tad bit guilty. If the officer hadn't come to rescue him, he could have gone searching for whomever it was.

Jack tried to wave away his guilt by telling himself that he hadn't asked to be saved, though, and that it didn't matter because he'd make it up to the officer by helping him find the person he was looking for. He hated being indebted to people and he already felt bad enough about dropping his plate.

He kicked and punched as many plants as he could, following the cop's example, but at the same time he tried to keep an eye out for something more effective to fight back with. And there, on the buffet table, he found it. A cheap lighter had been left among the dishes and he snatched it up immediately. Rolling the sparkwheel down onto the ignition with his thumb, a flame shot up and he waved it at the nearest Winter Star. It seemed to catch fire rather quickly and Jack gave a little whoop in triumph.

Lightly tapping the cop on the arm to get his attention, Jack's face was set with a seriousness and determination his features had not previously displayed. "What do they look like?" he asked. "Whomever you're looking for."

Imagi was in shock. She had destroyed the plant. Such a new and interesting find she had thrown to the ground like it was just a toy.

In her dismay, she didn't see that the soil at her feet from the shattered pot still contained a small seed.

It was just enough of the plant to revive and reached out a small leaf to drain her energy like a plant to water.

Sean Jones - Fighting

It first, Sean didn't realize he was being addressed. His attention was dominated by the insane plants that were swarming everywhere, and with trying to stay away from them. A moment or two after he noticed the man dressed in black nearby, he registered the question that had been asked.

He blinked up at the man and answered, "Um, trying to keep the crazy plants away?" The answer ought to have been obvious; most of the crowd seemed to be doing the same. Except the ma who'd spoken to him, since he seemed hardly to notice the plants at all.

Sean noticed movement out of the corner of his eye and snapped his head around to see its source. No surprise, it was more plants. And some of the plants around seemed to be glowing white now. He doubted the change in color was a good thing. He waited just until the plants were in range before kicking out at them again. The plants tried to reach vines out toward him, but he managed to punt them away before they could grab hold.

Caelum Dawson || Fighting (weapon)

Caelum couldn't hide for long; the monstrous poinsettias had found him. Though even he had to admit that ducking under a table in the middle of the fray wasn't the brightest idea. He kicked and yelped as vines twisted after him, scuttling back before the roots could grab hold. In between this, he managed to graze his hand over something metallic, and immediately picked up and slashed. In one clean swipe, the root after him flopped to the ground, and the boy booked it from beneath the table.

His mind yearned for safety in numbers, and he joined the company of Jack and Jeremy just as a root was set aflame by the lucky find of a lighter. This caused Caelum to glance down to his paltry defense in comparison: A likely misplaced trowel.

Yea, his death seemed imminent at this point.

Nevertheless, he stood beside the officer and redhead with concerned eyes. "Neither of you are hurt, right?" he asked. "'Cause it'd really suck to, like, die here. y'know. Death by weeds doesn't sound great on a gravestone, ahaha..." Making light of the situation via jokes wasn't ever Caelum's aim, but he couldn't think of what else to say.

Aiden Hale near the front of the line for poinsettias with a digging spade (Feels a bit like Clue) ninja

“Run?” The tone in Aiden’s voice spoke more volumes about the ridiculousness of the suggestion than the word alone “You mean like when I told you to run at the fair a month ago right?”

Glancing around frantically he heard before he saw one of the displays come crashing down scattering several of the stainless steel tools across the ground and one, thankfully, within reach.

Reaching out he grabbed ahold of a digging spades handle which he swung in a wide arc just barely over Alex’s head. The dull thud sound of metal hitting a rather solid plant was not unlike a cartoon character getting hit in the face with a frying pan. Amusing, but in light of the current circumstance Aiden hadn’t the time to even smirk.

“When will you get it through your head I’m not going to leave you behind?” Grabbing ahold of Alexandre’s forearm Aiden hefted his partner up onto his feet just before another leaf slashing poinsettia could take a swing at his throat. ”However you are officially banned from picking our dates for a while.”

Reynard Abney - fighting: 9-1 = 8
Okay. Getting attacked by a giant monster while walking home with his sister had been one thing. Getting attacked by angry, mobile plants was something entirely different. And annoying. "Killer.... poinsettias, huh? Not very creative monsters, these," he commented, swatting one of the plants off and away from his sister.

"Chey, hide, if you can! Miss Wiley - I'll be happy to explain polyamory when we're not dealing with the Revenge of the Salad Bowl!"

So far they didn't seem all that dangerous, really - more annoying than deadly. Although, those white ones that were beginning to crop up... well. He'd be careful, and Chey had better get to safety or at least stay behind him where he could protect her better. This was far too public a place for Limosa and Parthenon, after all.

Albert Wiley - fighting: 3-1 = 2

Oh god no, not the burlesque thing again! Albert felt his face heating up, and he hid in his hands as an undignified squawk escaped him. "Must you? Must you really?" His salvation - if salvation it was - came in the form of angry plants, and ... really, why was he not surprised by this any longer?

"Can one not go to any public events without a damn horror movie forming out of it?" He grumbled to himself as the plants began to swarm. He made a good effort of it, too, but there were just... so many...

As one bound itself up in his curls and he started to feel dizzy, Albert cursed his luck. He really was too old for this, wasn't he?

Christine Rose - fighting: 10-1 = 9

A beautiful date in a flower garden with Crystal - it had been the perfect idea. But no. Noooooo, someone had gotten the bright idea to ruin it! Nor could they power in this mess, not with so many people - and so many annoying little monsters attacking them!

A frustrated scream escaped the delicate-looking brunette as she launched herself at the plants, kicking some and stomping others under her heels, even as she looked about for something to better fend them off.

"How! Dare! You! Ruin my date! YOU'RE GOING TO BE SAUERKRAUT WHEN I'M DONE WITH YOU!"

Finally, she laid eyes upon a garden stake disguised as a giant candy cane.

It wasn't perfect and looked like it could break if she wasn't careful, but it would do. Time to beat on some plants.

Emily Wiley - Fite! 8-1 = 7!

"Might I offer my assistance?" Emily offered, and promptly spun on the plants viciously. She might lack a weapon, but she fought enough as a senshi to be a danger-- plus she heard her dad wail somewhere. THE PLANTS WERE MEETING A LIGHTEROR GOD HELP HER...[.i]

"And... After hmm? Difficulty multitasking? It's just Audrey II. Nothing big. I'd worry more if it was bats."

Again. Stupid-arsed bats and... And Emily grumbled. She'd just wanted a snack and a nice uting in Octoboer. This weird monster s**t was getting rediculous, and she grabbed one pointsettia, biting it in frustration. Screw toxicity, she was CRANKY.

Cherish Abney - Hiding. And failing miserably. 3-1 is 2!

Cherish nodded, tucking to hide with a frightened cry as she balled uo. She'd feel so much better as Limosa, but with all these people, she wasn't sure it was worth trying. Especially when this was Rey trying to have a nice night. At least the nice lady was trying to help him, and even bantering, and the poor woman was focused on that -- and not the pointsettias that slipped up behind and swarmed her, the girl yelping in panick as vines coiled around her, and she cried.

Kestrel DeLacey - Wants to not get murdered by Emily or the Plants, so Fite - 5-1 is 4.

"Oh BALLS." Kes had really been about to tell Albert there was NOTHING wrong with burlesque, when the plants attacked, and her instincts from Cordoba took over as she scouted for some sort of item for a discus. Some of the plants were on clay circular stands, but she couldn't reach -- not when Albert was swarmed, and the DJ huffed, grabbing the pointsettias on him and yanking.

"Oi! Don't pick on my poor uncle! How about you fight something that bite BACK?!"

Well, hopefully not lioterally unlike some people the writer could name. Still, they seemed to respond. Even if it meant cuts abound with her.

Crystal Lauper - Hiding behind her Fiancess - 5-1 is 4!

Crystal didn't like things the moment things changed. Everything was terrifying, and the very brief snatches crossing her mind made her cry and cower behind Christine, clinging anxiously. No no no no. While she didn't care about anyone, she did care for Christine, and she buried her face in her, barely swatting away vines coming at her. Christine was a good hiding place -- very safe... Right?

Das Tor
Kes is amused by Albert.

Allison Abson - FITE! - 3 - 1= 1 so maybe she tried but...

Allison had been happy to talk, but the sudden chaos earned a blink, the teen opening her mouth to ask what was coing on....

And was ensnared by the vines of the plants she saught to BUY. Ally yelped immediately, struggling against the plants firmly, and panicked, the leaves cutting and hurting. The vines were no better, and why was she feeling off?

Hafwen - Fighting

Hafwen wasn't fazed the instance the poinsettias and their leaves turned white.

Revealing your true colours unto all now, aren't we?

She stomped on a vine mercilessly, keeping her eyes trained on the ground and her immediate surroundings as she focused on maintaining her line of defense. There wasn't a moment that she could spare to check on how Darren was doing with how fast and furious the wave of attacks were raining down on them both now.

All she could do was work tirelessly on her part while having faith that her boyfriend was doing likewise on his end judging by the warmth that emanated from the strong and sturdy back that her own was pressed up against.

Kit Paine - (6) Fighting the poinsettias off himself and Allison

"GET OFF YOU STUPID WEEDS!"

Hearing Allison's voice behind him, Kit turned to see her covered in cuts and vicious poinsettias. He hurried toward her to pull them off and managed to avoid getting caught up in their grasp for the most part. Some of their leaves seemed sharp, but the damage wasn't too bad as long as he could keep too many of them from attacking at once.

"Are you okay?" he asked, continuing to swat and knock aside the plants as best he could. "I think we should get out of here. Find cover or something."

Ginger Crispin: Fighting- -1 so total of 7

It was supposed to be cute, and fun, and charming, and bringing home fancy plants for people they loved. Rigggght until it wasn't cute and things started going in a direction that looked like the prelude to a not entirely pg anime.

"I was going to but then it was crowded in here..." She admitted, suddenly realizing she just needed to find an excuse to carry 'Sparkles' just damn where everywhere she went.

It was not, in fact, paranoid if they were, in fact, out to get you.

"But I think a weed whacker might be more appropriate under the circumstances!" Could you effectively beat weeds to death? She'd never really tried, she didn't think the dimples in the lawn would be worth it in the war against the crab grass and dandelions. Not that the second did kind of get sort of a half pass just for the nostalgia of poofing them when they went to seed...

"But hey, if I need a bat to weed the garden I'm slipping!" He clenched her fists tightly and moved to protect her friends.

Mercy Haynes - Fighting still (and making heart eyes at Nick)

Perhaps it had been because he had attempted to flee from the bats at the Halloween event, that had made Mercy think that even in the closed confines of the gardens Nick would have made a break for it. She was about to snip back at Quinn that she was MORE than capable of handling things when suddenly Nick spoke up.

It was much to her shame that she had to admit she panicked hearing his voice. Half wanting to turn and tell him to get the heck out of there because he didn't need to impress her or this wasn't about his ego but instead she just let it die unspoken. This was about starting over - and as much as she thought he was being stupid, she had to admit that him willing to stick around and fight was really kind of... cute.

In that small puppy fluffing up against a bigger dog sort of way.

The scream he gave did actually cause her to jump and she turned to look at him, half in a panic expecting to find him covered in flowers only to see one go flying from his punch. Watching him care for his hand, she felt her heart skip a beat and felt the heat rise in her cheeks.

Wow... he was actually kind of hot when he fought.

Her distraction though, cost her - taking her out of the flow of the fight and leaving her open in places she normally wouldn't be. It wasn't until she felt a flower wrap it's vines around her and start to tug her off balance, and some others come in with the assist at one of her ankles, that she let out her own yelp. Trying to keep her footing even as she felt the sharp leaves and petals cut into her skin in small cuts and scrapes as the vines tried to tug her onto the ground - so more could pull from her.

"Nick?!" She cried, turning her attention back to the fight. "Stick close to Quinn..." She said, hoping he was doing better than she was.

Darren Waughner - Still Fighting!

"You know, the more things change, the more they stay the same..." Darren huffed, keeping up the fight, back to back with Hafwen. "But let's talk later, fight now..."

He was relying more on his legs than his arms, which was probably for the best as long as none of the plants wrapped him or Hafwen up. As it was, he thought he was doing pretty okay at keeping them off her back. She certainly was keeping them off his.

They made a pretty good team, which was a good thing, all things considered.

Arthur Quinton aka Quinn - Fighting and failing at it, rolled a 3

Quinn had been holding his own, he was doing a pretty good job beating off the clinging plants. At least till something Mercy's boyfriend said had him pause in surprise. "Wait, what? Selfish?" How was trying to get others out while you stay behind to hold off the hoards count as selfish. "More like selfLESS dude."

Pride cometh before the fall as they say and Quinn's little outburst was enough of a distraction that he a plant that had come up on him. At least until it started to wrap itself around his leg. "s**t. s**t, s**t, s**t." He tried to pry the little bugger off but it was like velcro. More came up to him and even as he got the first off another had joined it, and another and another. Quinn knew what was going on when he started to feel lightheaded, like he was buzzed. "Mercy! They are draining energy!" He tried to warn the young senshi but apparently she wasn't doing much better then him. Quinn stumbled a bit as he tried to keep his footing and a wave of dizziness swirled around him, hissing in pain as the meaner of the plants used their sharp leaves to slice into his legs.

Abigail Miller aka Abby - Fighting and holding her own, rolled a 6

Abby continued her assault against the poinsettias, really glad that she hadn't spend the money on getting one of them. Why was something so pretty so damn deadly. She glared down at the plants even as she observed them turning pure white, the white of freshly fallen snow. Apparently they were not done doing whatever they were trying to do yet since they got even more vicious in their attacks, there petals turning razor sharp. This wasn't good, even an experienced fighter would eventually fall under these odds and Abby was no experienced fighter. But still she fought on, using a mix of martial arts and dance she was able to keep the plants at bay, but for how long? As long as it took... she hoped.
