He'd had no idea what was happening until the very moment everything went to hell and back. Banananite had just been at the castle to drop off a quick report, then get back to his usual duties of trying to stay alive and maybe drop a few Senshi by tricking them into slipping on his banana peel to their doom.
His strategies really needed some work, in hindsight.
But now there were a lot of people who could use a good banana peel to slip on, and that excited the relatively new lieutenant. Not because he was bad and liked to see others in harm's way, but because Banananite could finally feel useful. Even if he didn't directly kill a Senshi or Knight, he could at least trip one up and let a Captain finish the agent of Order off. Then, maybe, he'd be seen as slightly more valuable. Maybe even get a promotion, and do something other than vainly hope his best attempts would marginally turn out for the best.
Banana peels required some small effort to keep in supply, though. Namely, eating bananas, which Banananite didn't quite have access to at the moment. So, he was stuck with just a single banana peel, and a whole lot of anxiety. Be brave, Banananite. You can do this!
A deep breath, and Banananite threw the peel onto the floor, hoping the crowd was too distracted with other fights and the youma to notice his lackluster sabotage.

Scholomance, Squire of Saturn
Scholomance looked down at his companion with a small huff. Looks like I'm not getting out of this quite so easily. I wonder why? He already saved my life once. Does he mean to keep at it?
Reaching down, Scholomance picked at the shreds of cloth that still clung to his leg. He lamented it terribly; earlier that morning he finally shaved his legs again, and now the skin was half-melted with acid. It stung more than he could believe, and he wondered what use he might be in this fray regardless. Acting against the Negaverse wasn't in his best interest, either; if he couldn't shrug off his attendance with the injury, then how did he expect to avoid fighting their opposition here? Such a conundrum left him scrambling for answers, though none came immediately.
"I'd really rather not waste my magic on kids. I don't much like them; I find adults far more effective. They're also, well, capable of making more kids." He shot a glance at Centisima. "But, that magical something-or-other we found down in there looked and felt like the Code, which is sort of... The magical entity that lends all us knights power. Without it, so far as I've been told, we'd be without magic at all. It's integral to our effectiveness and survival." As he watched the brewing battle, he noticed the opposing forces closing in. Already Laurelite swept through the crowd as a hot knife, sparing none but her own side. Inwardly he wondered if any of the remaining senshi and knights here stood half a chance in stopping her. He doubted it, and doubted them - including their lauded royals.
Whose responsibility is it to undo death. "I think most of these people take death a little too frivolously." With his cane at his side, he started to walk toward the crest of the battle. It still lay some distance away, where the most zealous of senshi stood up to their enemy. "Well," he started, looking back at his acquaintance, "we're not going to die here. I decided a long time ago that the only way I'll die is while having sex, and unless you're ready to strip your clothes off and bend me over a crystal, then we've got some escaping to do."

Ochre, Corrupted Super Senshi
"s**t!" He cursed breathlessly upon their completed transit. Doubling over, Ochre huffed out a few quick gasps to recover some of his spent energy. "That takes so much out of you..." However, he managed the transition properly and the two stood unharmed by the teleportation. For once, he didn't screw up anything regarding his Negaverse duties.
His communicator hummed to life with activity, though, and Prehnite responded to him almost immediately. The nickname earned a grin of its own, which he displayed willingly toward the lieutenant. Ochre took a shine to him, despite their shortened time together. He had a boisterousness to him that Ochre could appreciate. Not only that, but he was possibly one of the first Negaverse agents to treat him well and treat him like a superior. Ochre had thought previously that he was stripped of all rank privileges with his last transgression against the organization. Perhaps he was wrong, or Prehnite wasn't notified of Ochre's previous deeds.
Straightening up, Ochre tossed one of his braids back behind him. "Yeah, I mean, we got a whole lot of senshi to go through. I'm gonna need all the help I can get. Oh!" He paused when his communicator chirped with Xenotime's message. Holding it to his mouth, he responded quickly. "Uh, yes ma'am. Be right there."
Ochre started to trot down the hill toward the fray, and beckoned for Prehnite to follow. The hill grew steep with craggy, desolate rock before it sloped back toward a flattened surface. "Come on - we've got to find my general! She's all green and grey and has a stripe across her face!"

Centisima, Senshi of Centipedes
"Woah, harsh," Centisima arched his eyebrows comically high, "I’m not fond of rugrats either but we’re usually supposed to put them before ourselves. Protect the future, etc, etc." Not that he was judging and his tone made it clear. He was more amused than anything else. The information about the magical-something-or-other he stored away as very interesting, as well as the term ‘knights’, which he had heard bandied around now and again and it made sense for the ‘clearly-good-but-not-senshi’ to be under such a term. "Fair enough."
The problem with the Code however was that it was in someone else’s hands, someone closer to the battle than they were and probably already surrounded by people who thought they would be able to protect it best.
"This is ******** up," Centisima said in false merriment as people more fell in blades and claws. He’d started walking alongside Scholomance, now and again eyeing the acid burnt leg. Hopefully it didn't hold them back to badly. "As tempting as the prospect is, I doubt that crystal would make for a very comfortable death ********. I do greatly admire your end-of-life choices and hope you go out gloriously." He grinned. "Just not today."

Sailor Alcor // Senshi of Cold Sailor Eleonora // Senshi of Heat
All around them youma descended upon the mixed group of Knights and White Moon Senshi as several made a mad dash for the door and it was after the Senshi of Cold ducked to avoid a clawed limb that she saw a familiar blue dress and red haired Knight of Castor seemingly looking around aimlessly as if she were somehow lost in the fray. “Ele, Stay with Athene. Please,” she emphasized “don’t let her out of your sight.”
“Where are you…” Eleonora began to ask when she too spoted their cousin not too far away. “Gorner!”
“Don’t worry I’m going to go get her. Get going, we’ll be right behind you!” Alcor didn’t wait for her sister to respond before making a dash for their family member; there was no way she was going to explain to her Aunt and Uncle why their daughter wasn’t coming home. As the oldest twin it was her responsibility that Ele stayed safe, even if it meant doing something reckless so she didn’t have to.
Again she ducked her head when one swooped down low. Sharp talons raked across her bare forearm eliciting a yelping cry from the bluenet. “Come on!” she hollered above the screaming cries of the monsters that descended upon the thinning group. “Hurry!” she grabbed a hold of Gorner’s hand and gave it a demanding tug. “We got to catch up, go!” she demanded faltering in her own footsteps so she fell behind her cousin as they made a V-line for Eleonora, Liryn and Athene.
"Do you think I di...." Kairatos was so strung tight he almost snapped at Palatine, "I know that." He adjusted his words, through a tight jaw, cringing as the General Queen ordered attention on Asterion. He knew the burning bull was only a summon, but he also remembered an actually living creature that had been very like it, and it was hard to draw the line between a magical mirror of it, and the actual beast who had long gone on to rest.
"I can't re-summon Asterion once he goes down, we have to breech the line, and then we need the fastest ******** runner we have to take this thing and go." He informed, Themiscara, green eyes searching hers for... he wasn't sure what the hell he was looking for. It wasn't permission... maybe it was validation.
They had goddamn kids on this field. He thought he'd seen Sabine out there. He knew he'd seen Ganymede. And god help them... Castor was somewhere.
Making decisions about his own fate was one thing but this was a growing nightmare, even while their attention was on ...
....On Asterion.
...other threats were secondary.
"Let's go!, while they're taking down Asterion. Themi, I need your help chain flogging any ******** that gets in our way. Let's hit em hard! I'm counting on all of you! Stick together, let's give these ******** the worst ******** game of punch-in-the-nuts Cups they've ever ******** had to handle to get this thing!"
He called to those who were gathering around, summoning his net to hand. Let someone get a face full of rough cord and bull horn if they got too close. Bastards.
He almost thought he could believe it himself, though it wasn't for lack of wishing that the speech was not accompanied by magic, magic he needed to keep Asterion on the field as long as possible, tossing his broad horns and lashing out with hooves, a crashing, furious creature of fire and... now whatever sort of suffering a creature made of magic could endure. But they goaded bulls to make them fight harder, and he was positive his wounded summon would do as much hurt as it could before he felt it vanish.
Right now all they could do was keep moving, while he tried to figure out how best to play out a distraction. How to cover a power signature like the code enough to pass it hand to hand, and not have a lower ranked fighter become the target of an army.

Andronicus Squire of Uranus - Kairatos' Group
She gave Themiscyra a look of "bad joke" and went to retort. Only she couldn't because her mouth was occupied with Themiscyra's and then wasn't, and Andronicus stood staring at the running Martian knight with a look of shock and annoyance.
There was a moment of debate whether she was staying with Ganymede's group or going after her. Really though, there wasn't any debate or question. Not when her vision changed to Themiscyra dead on the floor, a war lost, and Andronicus avenging it.
She took off after her, skidding to a stop next to Themiscyra and grabbed her arm.
"You are going to be the death of me," she chastised, making her own very bad joke. She leaned up, pecking the woman on the cheek and whispered something in her ear about how next time there was kissing, neither one would be running away.
She turned her attention to the bull, the youma, and running then, intent on making this out alive.

Sailor Skoll, Senshi of the Pack
The hair kissing was a bit much, a relic of a time when they were younger. She blushed, embarrassed at the fierce protectiveness Hati gave off out of place for the pair. Yes, they encountered intense fighting and dangerous situations, but ones that never pulled that reaction from him. Last time she could remember, she'd been in the hospital for a week with a severe case of the flu that turned into pneumonia.
When she was twelve.
Skoll was composed by the time they reached the way out and the army in front of them. Not exactly the best odds, now was it? Odds never tended to be in their favor, but this was, like everything else, a bit out of their league. Skoll looked over at him, continuing to servay the scene.
"Probably 'nough for one last boost, maybe. Got'a General Queen with a scythe, seems ta be directin' traffic. That fluffy princess looks like she's gunna do something big, and we got youma and officers runnin' 'bout. Suggestions? Don't think I'll be lucky 'nough the second time for another take down," she said, her street accent cutting through her voice. The places Apatite's scales had hit throbbed something fierce, and the constant pounding of all the Chaos around them had begun a nasty migraine. They wouldn't last long in a prolonged assault.
Damn, it had to be quick and dirty or no one was goin' home.

Chibi Sailor Iduna, Senshi of Apples - Chibi Group
It was hard running with a skirt full of starseeds. On one hand, the twelve year old did her best to keep the leotard bottom of her fuku hidden while running. A task that was hard enough with two hands to hold the thing down with. With only one hand, that was holding it up to hold the starseeds, it was impossible.
On the other hand, she didn't want to lose any of them to the crazed and hungry monsters of Negaspace.
How they'd get around an army while carrying starseeds was a completely different matter. She came to a stop near the group with the other chibi senshi, and took a page out of Oort's book. While she had no sash to tie them with, she did have a leotard.
Being careful not to show anything embarrasing, Iduna moved the starseeds from her skirt into her fuku proper, without any really care - or knowledge - of what might happen if she did. Subspace was out; she'd never been to space, and surely hadn't heard anything about it to begin with.
The other chibi talked about not using magic for right now, and Iduna paled. Fighting wasn't really her thing... a good distraction she could be, but a fighter? Not at all. Cadmus had to dust the youma for her, that one time. She couldn't wait idly though, as Ambrosia started wailing on a youma with her feet. The Chibi ran over to Ambrosia and started adding her own kicks and punches to the youma as well.
It was now or never, and Iduna really wanted to go home.
Bloodstone heard the call to order the first time, but due to his inability to teleport, it unfortunately took him longer than he wished to show up at the fight. Negaspace appeared to be breached and overrun by these senshi and knights that he’d heard so much about. He hadn’t had the chance for actual experience in fighting them just yet, but he knew to keep his guard up.
He arrived at Aurostibite’s side, nodding to the order he was given, and jumped into the fray without a second thought, although kept close to the General, as he knew his level of power was not as strong as he would like.
Two senshi were nearby, just now exiting the castle. From what he’d heard, this senshi (Skoll) had been the one of those fighting the General Queen Apatite. He refused to think that a mere senshi could have killed her — it was just a matter of her becoming overwhelmed with too much chaos. Apparently starseeds did that, after a while.
Without any warning, he made to deliver a hard kick to the male senshi’s (Hati) knee. If that connected, he would follow through with a punch to his face. He would deal with the female once he took the first senshi out.

Gevaudan, knight of Ganymeade
He stared at the other knight and stuck out his tongue. "No wonder that tasted awful! You should have said something. Now I have some weird magic in my gut." That was sure to cause problems later, he was sure. That was if there would be a later for him.
He could see across the battlefield that the Negaverse was organizing perfectly with The General Queen at the forefront.
As others were talking about energy pooling, he turned to Babylon with a raised brow. "How do I know? I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I you guys know something that might work to get us out, do it now! We don't have time for discussions. Assemble who you need and start!"
He looked to Valhalla. "If this needs time, we need to put up a wall for them to work. "Laurelite is gonna hack us all down and we still have tha Youma to get past. We needs to start NOW."
To this he looked at Ganymeade. "They need directions. If you are going to do this tree thing, call out to who you need for it, tell the others to gather close, and tell the rest to make a defense up front. No saving magic now. We need to use every drop everyone has to get the hell out of here or else this mission we came in to have our side win will result in most of Order's army killed."
He turned and headed to the forefront to meet Laurelite, kicking out at an over eager Youma who lunged only to fall back.
Sessrumnir was partially surprised that the senshi (Remus) did stop to help him. As much as he would have liked to take care of his wounds himself, he knew it would be a waste of time to mess with.
“Thanks,” he said with a grunt, stretching his arm out to make sure the fabric wasn’t going to give easily. It helped that the blood soaking into it was keeping the makeshift bandage in place.
“Probably not waltzing out, no,” he agreed, raising an eyebrow at the… shorter senshi’s comment. “Not flying out, either. Hell, we’ll be lucky if the portal is still open,” he said, looking from the dark haired senshi to the others that were around him. There was the blonde (Duhr) who seemed to have some kind of wind magic, as well. He could appreciate that. And then the red head (Inari) who seemed to be canine in theme. Another familiarity he appreciated, even if neither of them realized. The fang that housed his wolf summon was already tucked safely under his belt.
“Might be better trying to call for flying monkeys than Gwaihir,” he frowned, glancing from the three senshi to try and catch sight of the new General Queen. “The other eagle I know has been missing since she was struck down by Laurelite,” he nodded in the General Queen’s direction.
“Thanks for the help,” he said again, wondering if these three would be okay on their own. He was sure they would, since they made it out of the castle alive. Maybe he would stay close by in case they did need help, but he wasn’t going to hover over them. They’d clearly shown they could handle themselves.

Princess Ganymede, gettin' her crystal out
Babylon was putting way more faith in her than she thought she deserved. Ganymede got this notion across with a desperate look, glancing around their group again like she was trying to find anyone who could possibly come up with a convincing argument as to why they shouldn't try this. Unfortunately, she didn't think any of the others were going to argue.
She assumed neither the Super Senshi nor the Page had been at the Surrounding. Valhalla had. She was pretty sure Gevaudan had been there too.
It wasn't nearly enough. With Themiscyra moving to another group and Andronicus following after her, their number decreased by two. The approach of another Super Senshi (Metis) was at least mildly reassuring. Yet, no matter how many people joined them, Ganymede doubted whatever it was they were about to try would even be half as powerful as what happened at the Surrounding. Probably not even close to half.
“Wait, you want to what?”
Her desperate expression shifted into one of mild horror.
If they made it out of this alive, it would be by the skin of their teeth. Yet Babylon had planned to kill Caedus upon their return?
Hell, Ganymede didn't trust the guy at all, but that distrust didn't run so deep that she thought killing him was the answer.
“Why would you even think-”
The question cut off in the middle. Laurelite chose that moment to launch her attack. Ganymede watched, helplessly, as Laurelite's scythe took down four Senshi in one swipe. From this distance, Ganymede didn't even hear them make a sound. She wondered if they had the time. It looked pretty instantaneous.
Well... at least they didn't suffer.
Ganymede tried to think quickly and come up with another plan she thought had more of a chance of working than Babylon's idea. She was coming up blank. Her brain couldn't seem to process anything more than the swing of Laurelite's scythe and the blood already staining the field.
“Sweet Jesus ********, wait Gev!” she called out to him before he could move too far. “Do you remember the Surrounding? That big attack we all did at the end that kicked you guys out? That's what Babylon's talking about. Sort of. We didn't do it to the tree. But there's no way I can do that. I've barely used my crystal at all, I... I don't even know how to make anyone listen to me!”
No one had any obligation to her, not even the knights who wore her symbol. Half of them probably didn't even like her considering her tendency to mouth off.
“s**t, Babylon, just... call as many people as you can then. They'll listen to you. I think you're crazy but we've got nothing to lose. Everyone else,” she said, looking around at their assembled group again, “There's a very high chance this probably isn't going to work. I have no idea how it worked last time, and since Babylon's really the only one who can transfer energy on a regular basis, I have no idea if I'm even going to be able to get any from the rest of you, but we legit have zero time, so put your hands on me and let's try it and see what happens, and if it falls flat in our faces we'll deal with it then.”
Hastily, Ganymede passed her broken shoe off to Valhalla. She was sure she'd need it later, and considering he was practically defenseless, he could use it in the meantime.
With her hands now free, Ganymede summoned her crystal—a glimmer on the battlefield.

Captain Aquamarine
“What the hell...”
Aquamarine watched as Jet began to limp off. He had no idea what the ******** the other Captain planned on doing, but whatever it was, it was probably stupid as hell.
He was almost relieved to see Seraphinite. Almost. Mostly he was just annoyed by this entire spectacle. But at least he had someone else by his side who wouldn't stand for Jet's s**t.
“Is... is that a ******** cat?” he asked.
He followed this up with a shake of his head. Now wasn't the time to be distracted by frivolous things. If they were distracted, there was a bigger chance that they'd be hurt, and Aquamarine really didn't fancy a stay in the hospital.
They'd call his family, and he did not want to deal with them.
“Jet,” he called out again. “Give one of your ******** knives to Sera. He'll make better use of it than you'll be able to with your ******** bum arm.
“s**t,” Aquamarine added soon after. There came Laurelite's orders. Destroy everyone. “********. I'm not going to ******** die here, so you two better not ******** around. Jet, don't make me take a ******** knife for you again.”

Tomlin, Guardian Cat
Tomlin looked up in his companions, eyes widening in the flame-licked darkness as he tried to work out their sudden tension at his words.
“Give up?” he said, fixing his copper gaze on Oberon. “I'm counting on you! I may not have senshi magic like you lot, but I'm not letting you fight alone. You said combine our efforts. If it's all-in, then I'm in!”
What had these chibis heard about the Mauvian beam anyway? So he'd be falling-down tired if he used it, but with everything arrayed against them, seemed like a small price to pay if it got them a little closer to the portal. And he might hate being picked up, but if he was already unconscious then it hardly mattered what he felt, right? But even Chibi Oort was frowning at him.
“Would you prefer me to stick to claws? Fine, claws then.”
It shortly became an irrelevant discussion as a strange magical bull took to the field in a charge. Just the distraction they needed, and the team wasted no time, hitting the youma along their chosen path. Tomlin followed at their heels, raking his claws in a low blow against the first monstrous limb that came his way. As long as they kept moving forward. As long as the portal was still open behind them.
Well ********. Of course there would not have been an easy way out during this whole shenanigan. Someone somewhere MUST have caused a bigger ruckus than those who went to the barracks did. After all, why else would there be so much damned shouting and guns ablazing once they had tried to approach the barrier? There was a passing contemplative thought that maybe the Negaverse had telekinesis and that the reason why they knew that there were SO many senshi and knights here was because of Babylon's dumb a**, but then there was growling nearby and there was no time for that!
He protectively stood near Perdita until the others started running and swinging. The senshi that she targeted was also met with his ire as he ran up to it and gave it an hammer kick to it's back, hoping that, though it wouldn't be enough to dust it, that it would be collapsed enough for Perdita to just wail on that ******** like it was no body's business.

Sailor Enif
There had been such relief at seeing Cassiopeia that Enif could have cried. This whole situation had been far too chaotic, if you'd ignored the pun, and really she'd had no idea how to handle any of this. Nothing in her life had prepared her for any of this.
Hurrying to her friend's side, she tried not to cling as it seemed that Cas had her hands full as it was.
"I uh... I haven't used my power yet? Really? But um... I think it just gives people some sort of buff." Ugh, she hated how unsure she was, a hand moving to toy with the little feathers on her tiara. A buff to dodge, if instinct was correct. That only did so much though...
Alright, so they were doing this. And if it failed and everyone died, that would all be on Babylon.
No pressure.
Cool.
"Okay," said Babylon, turning to their group. "We're kinda making this up as we go." Ganymede did have a point about what had happened on the surrounding maybe being... specific to the surrounding. They'd both been a lot younger then, and Babylon doubted his own memories - but he did think the rainbow road had had something to do with how all their powers had connected. They wouldn't be able to replicate that exactly--
So, okay, how had things on Maia worked?
There'd been a lot more good, old fashioned fighting.
"We find anyone here whose magic gives some kind of boost," he said. "We get them all to cast it on Ganymede at the same time, overclock her crystal."
It seemed like a good start. "Then, we find anyone transcendent, drag them over here, do the laying on of hands thing," he continued. "See how far that gets us."
That left a lot of people who weren't one or the other. Babylon hesitated for a second - he knew clearly what had happened on the surrounding, but this was the rift. "Everyone else either hits Laurelite at the same time as you," he said, "Or they join hands and pray. I'm leaning towards the former, because door number two sounds hokey even to me."
It sounded like a thing. Probably less elegant a plan than Europa would have come up with - but they were working with what they had.
"And then we hope that the resulting detonation blows up 90% of what's in our way," he added. "Okay. Let's start spreading the word."
They didn't have much time. Laurelite was getting close.
"Cordoba, Harmonia," he said, turning to the page and the senshi. "Go find Knights. Eternal senshi. People who look like other people are listening to them. Tell them what we're doing."
