Though the voice of, who he assumed was Corey, sounded furious, Rook was too overwhelmed with relief to care. He had not been expecting that to work, but despite all odds it had. Turns out brute force did solve problems. Too bad it did little to settle his shaken nerves.
"Stupid horse..." He gave a choked sob, as he joined the small group, which had gathered around Charlie, who was mostly unconscious at the moment, and dropped down onto the ground beside him. "Who said you could leave." He refused to let himself cry, but to be honest, after the events of this night, it was proving hard not to.

Throughout the thick of it all, Harvard stayed with Caroline. He knew the others would be safe on their own - the crowd was large, and they had banded together to work with a stunning viciousness that had almost surprised him. A lot of pent up anger, he thought. He leaned forward, pressing his face into her hair. Hadn't he told himself he'd be gentle? His fingers traced her collar. There was, of course, some feeling of satisfaction in being the first to reach her, to hold her.
"I kept my part of the bargain, Caroline." He was beginning to worry, but aside from her blankness, nothing seemed to be wrong. But Harvard needed her to come back. That was the deal. If she hid, he would find her. But she couldn't go to places where he could not follow. She can to come back.

"Corey!" He knelt down to check on the small girl once she collapsed, seeing that she was beaten and bruised but at least she was once again herself. "Corey?" She wasn't responding and honestly Cecil didn't know what to do from here. They needed to get their leads somewhere safe but where.

Austin looked dazed, candles lowered now -- because, well, that had been Caroline in there after all. And she was back somehow, and he wanted to be pissed about that, but mostly he was just relieved. As a group, they needed leadership, and he sure as s**t didn't want to step into that role.
The relief was short-lived before it melted into something that suited his green-eyed nature better.
He found something else to focus on, blinking briefly at Cecil. "...there's a huge hospital, just right over there. We could head that way..."
Now that their leads were alright (well, kinda alright, they'd been beaten up but they were themselves again), Kammy felt so much better. However Cecil had brought up a good question.
"I don't know. Maybe we should find a safe place int he hospital and wait till the leads are recovered?" Because the hospital totally had safe places

“COREY!” Harper yelled, running over as the familiar figure crumpled to the ground. She quickly got to her knees, ignoring them Cecil as she stood over her. There were tears, she wasn’t sure when she had started crying but Harper was so happy to see that Corey was still breathing. As the others talked Harper stayed on the ground brushing the hair out of the woman’s face, she didn’t care really where they went as long as it was safe.

James sat up slowly, like a tree falling in reverse, and smiled dazedly at everyone.
"Oh, hello Corey. Caroline. Charlie."
He thought about this for a moment.
"And - everyone else." He paused, swaying a bit. "G-good..." he managed, "team effort." He blinked owlishly, fixing his gaze on a point somewhere in the distance.
"GOOOOooooo Emerston."
He flapped his hands around in the air like pom-poms, still sitting flat out on the dirt. His weak and tentative smile was perhaps the only sign that he wasn't actually being sarcastic.
