"Well. I wouldn't put it quite that way you know." he said. "I am simply not one for rocking the boat, what is the point when one can only end up hurt?" He shook his head. "No, I think I will settle for being safe, even if it means I get called a coward."
"Also, it will look better if the Great King shows up and I have been keeping out of things which do not involve me rather than getting my sticky fingers in all the pies."

She only made a soft noise, somewhere between uncertainty and frustration, which about summed up her answers to both the green and the blue knights.
"I'm thinking of heading out," she told them candidly. It wasn't like she could hide the fact that she looked spooked. Piper leaned down and grabbed another handful of gold coins to pocket away. "Or at least getting the hell away from this mess until it sorts itself out. Anyone with me?" Pause. "Or, I mean, like, we could try to find another Great Knight?" she suggested half-heartedly. "Unless that'd just get everyone at each' other's throats again..."

"Nobody asked you to get your pretty hands dirty." He looked briefly down at his hands, calloused, married by a few scars. Horace was, after all, sometimes quite clumsy. Most people didn't need to know that those scars came from cooking knives and not great battles. "The point is that decisiveness is often required in a knight - I assume you want to eventually become one?" He hadn't missed that emphasis on the word 'all' and he resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
"Is it better to be decisive and change your focus as new information surfaces. Doing nothing is self-serving only, and not deserving of the term 'knight'." He snorted derisively. "Remind me to never trust you to cover my back."

"And how did you propose to leave with the drawbridge out, hm?" Lock said, slinking into this conversation because he is deal with it.
He rubbed his head slightly and stared at the others. "Someone hit me over the head earlier. What happened?" He at least knew Piper through their various arena encounters. The familiarity was appreciated.

It seemed that the male knight with Piper was alright, but Piper herself seemed to ... not be. Ignatius would try to offer something comforting, but even he realized there was very little comforting about being in a situation where their leaders seemed intent on killing each other and their followers.
Though she seemed to be quite entranced with the gold around. Admittedly, Ignatius was vaguely tempted by it himself. It was so shiny, and so vast...
And most of it was sinking into a hole with that mirror. Ignatius glanced towards it, mostly out of curiosity, before he caught himself and attempted to whirl back towards those he was talking to. Now was not the time to get distracted. Brenley's words caught his attention. Were they just pissing Morgan off? They were just knight apprentices. Did they even have the power to do much, if any, damage to him at all? Considering Morgan seemed to be inhuman, it was quite the possibility.
Maybe it was a good thing he had stopped attacking. Piper's idea of getting as far away as possible wasn't half bad but the new eavesdropper had a point himself. He and Piper at the least had helped take the bridge out, and there was nowhere for them to go other than other places in Camelot. They couldn't leave even if they wanted though. ... Though they could probably go back upstairs ...
At the question, Ignatius chuckled, though it wasn't necessarily with any level of mirth. "Ah, the three knights started attacking each other, some of the others were convinced to push a powerful sidhe artifact into another, and now Morgan's up to something. And Gawain's dead, I think..." Then, perhaps with a bit of mirth, he remarked, "The horsemen might be the least of our problems."

From two, to four, to five. Arrakis nodded in greeting to the newest person to join them. He, too, noticed the gold sinking but couldn't bring himself to care very much about it. He really, truly was exhausted and wanted nothing more to do with anything near the mirror if he could at all help it. Especially not considering what he had seen the last time he went near the mirror. That was enough revulsion to last the rest of his life.
"I don't think I even made a dent, and I tried three times," he ventured, referring to Morgan and tilting his head in said Great Knight's direction. The bleeding above his eye had stopped finally, and he rubbed some of the dried residue away, leaving a dark smear across his forehead. "Gawain's dead, Morgan is... not who I thought he was, and there's something unholy about those artifacts." That last was, perhaps, the biggest understatement of all time.

Without lifting a finger, Riley could feel the rift between the two that her whispers had caused. She smiled, slipping away before she even dared respond to Estel and steal her attention from how Shun was turning on her. Riley's hands clasped against her heart, as if the anger and frustration between them was feeding her.
It was all she could do not to tear at them both.
Jason had awful timing, and came running at her just when her need to destroy was at it's peak. Her eyes flashed with hunger, and her hands reached out to welcome him, but it was claws that welcomed him instead. They raked against his face, along with the loud shriek that tore from her lips. She marked him with her rage, and looked as though she was far from done with him.

Despite best efforts to save himself, Morgan had taken a considerate amount of damage. He looked human. He looked too human to be anything else, and it was perhaps another horrific mistake the knights had made yet again. "What are you even insinuating? I never mentioned I was not human, it was all of you who listened to the ramblings of a mad knight and now, would rather follow a madder one. Have you all lost your own willpower?"
Several knights encroached on his territory, not including Percival. Percival was oddly silent, for a moment, observing Morgan from afar.
"Go on then," Morgan flung his sword into the a treasure pile, where it clattered and then slid down, still, "kill me then. It will make you no better than the man you serve. I did not kill, I only showed you what was right. If you have the nerves to kill another Great Knight, then go on ahead."

VERSUS MORGAN: FINAL STRIKE
- The first person to roll a critical hit (using the dice mechanics as per usual) will kill Morgan. You can try as many times as you want (unlimited action points), even if you do not have turns, as long as you have over 0 HP. Doing so saps your HP though, to -5 per attempt.
If you have successfully attempted a critical hit, Morgan is DOWN. And you have killed him. Quote Zoobey. There will be a prompt and the battle will close.
HOWEVER, if nobody within the hour (OOC TIME, around a few minutes IC time) kills Morgan/ delivers a critical blow, then he will survive to see another day!)

Horace watched Morgan cast away his sword, his mouth dropping open in an 'o' of horror.
"No!" He called out to the knights surrounding the man. "Knights do not kill other knights! Remember your place! Incapacitate, but don't kill!" But Horace was sure his pleas would fall on deaf ears. He watched Percival out of the corner of one eye - the man wasn't advancing. Why not? It all smacked of set-ups and misinformation.

On the one hand, leaving seemed like an excellent idea. On the other, he imagined there were still plenty of horsemen beyond the gates, so yes, even if the drawbridge hadn't been destroyed, they'd only get as far as the stronghold's main level before they wouldn't be any safer than they were right now.
"Well, money's not going to get us anywhere anyway," he said, looking at the coins still at their feet. "Unless those are artifacts too. Maybe the shadows want them." He sighed as he shoved his axes into his belt, looking over at those who fought once again as Morgan threw down his sword. Maybe they were making more of a dent than the blue knight thought. "All I know is that I'm not attacking a Great Knight." His head was down, but he looked up through his lashes at the three who had done just that, his expression sheepish. "Sorry." At least they have been decisive. All he could do was give up.

Uru had no intention of killing any knight. The only evil that deserved his blade's taking of life were those of shadow. As far as he was concerned, no one here was that. They may be errants, but they were no beings of shadow. Still, he kept his blade close. He had to be ready... He had to be guarded.
