With that message sent, Sebastian looked back to his pokemon. "Alright all, let’s get a move on. We can keep training while we head for the pokemon center." Well, for a bit anyways. He was hopeful that once they got into the city he didn’t become lost in the massive circle. Actually, he’d make sure to return a majority of his pokemon before they entered the city, because if he wasn’t the one lost then it would certainly be one of them.
Gin gave a soft little coo, wiggling and fluttering up to rub against the side of her trainer’s face. The man smiled, giving the cotton fluff a little pat. "Did you want to stay out for a bit, Gin?" He inquired, receiving a little “Cottonee!” in response. The sun was probably good for the pokemon anyways, so he gave a nod and returned his pokegear to his bag. "Alright, sure." He remarked, offering his arms out. Her little leaves fluttered as she snuggled into his hold, still watching the others curiously.
In the meantime, Blackjack handled another Roselia that had meandered into view. Once it was disposed of, he looked to Dice. The little Cubone had gotten over his displeasure of not being allowed to battle to stare with wide eyed amazement at the fire spectacle taking place before him. It was an impressive display of power in his eyes and he gave the mega Houndoom a triumphant squeaky cheer. Blackjack gave a sort of curious gaze before dropping down a bit so the Cubone could climb on his back, the little pokemon toddled over and climbed up. He more than welcomed the free ride.

Once everyone seemed well enough off, Sebastian started to move along. He returned the majority of his pokemon; Rummy he didn’t trust not to wander and was still mopping a bit at the lack of Dues, Naps had started to drift to sleep, Kaiser had refused to move once it became clear that Sebastian would not be letting him chew his braid at this moment in time and Shuffle seemed… well she was just alright with going back into the ball.
He left the dogs out though and given that Dice was riding on Blackjack’s back, allowed the Cubone to remain as well. And then there was Gin, who was firmly tucked in his arms like the little cotton fluff she was. Satisfied with the bit of training they’d gotten done, their trainer started to lead the way for the city gate. Before they arrived fully he paused to fish his pokegear out. He wanted a map to be honest.
Gin fluttered into the air as she recognized Sebastian’s need for both his hands, fluttering there curiously as she watched the man. Then suddenly… a flash of pink flashed across them both, smacking directly into her. What in the world?!

The Spritzee gave a cry of defeat as it flew away, Gin giving a shake of her own little body in response. That was not a battle she had expected to get into. "Gin are you okay?!" Sebastian asked, his tone concerned. He hadn’t expected that pokemon to ambush them like it had. "Cottonee~" She chirped, giving him a reassuring look. She was a little sore from that fight but otherwise she felt alright.
Sebastian still frowned though. "Hold on, let me see what I have for you." He remarked, fishing around in his bag. Sure, they were heading for the pokemon center anyways, but if pokemon were going to be ambushing them along the way, he wanted to make sure she was well off. As he dug though, something fell out of his bag, catching the Cottonee’s eyes. She fluttered down to retrieve the sun stone, using her little leaves to gently pick it up and offer it up towards Sebastian.
"Oh thanks- eh?" The man remarked, starting to reach down to take the stone but stopping as the pokemon suddenly became enveloped in light. Was… was Gin evolving? What? He shielded his eyes a bit until the light faded, blinking and glancing down curiously at the new pokemon before him.
"Whimsi!" Gin blinked, a little paw pressing against her mouth as she blinked and looked down. Did she have legs? Arms? A body? She raised her paws to the side of her head, patting at the strange horn like things that now occupied the side of her head. Those weren’t leaves. And was she even fluffier? Whoa!
"Oh wow, you… you evolved?" Sebastian remarked, fetching his pokedex and getting a reading. Spade gave a twitchy look at the Whimsicott, watching it nervously while Blackjack watched curiously, Dice ogling a bit as well. The stone was gone, he noticed and Gin simply returned his surprised look with one of sheer excitement. She hadn’t expected to evolve! Who knew all it’d take was a rock?
"It’s like what happened with Rummy…, huh…," Sebastian mused a moment, kneeling down and giving Gin a gentle pat on the top of her head; she was still incredibly fluffy. "Well congratulations Gin!" Evolution was something to celebrate after all, right? He’d have to look into her new form a little later though. He straightened back up, ushering everyone along. "Come on, we need to get to the pokemon center."
"Whimsi!" Gin chirped, a little paw latching onto the fabric of Sebastian’s pants leg as they started to move along. It was weird having legs and not just floating…

He knew that from here on out things were going to get a lot more intense. As his communicator went off, and his pokemon were announced as ready, Jay picked himself up off the bench. He turned his head, listening, then stood, making his way over to the counter, feeling his way down to pick his pokemon up, and putting them in their place. He let Mimey, Koda, and Mary Lee back out-- Quena had never really been returned, and was still lurking in his pocket. "Yew alright with thuh temperature, Koda?" he asked, whipping out his device to check the message he'd received. "I'm fine for now!" the flurry replied happily, tail swishing contently as he and the others followed Jay back over to the bench.
"Alright." Jay went ahead and started the flurry's music, Koda perking up and closing his eyes as he moved his head to the beat, while his trainer listened to Sebastian's reply. 'Are we going to go to Hoenn soon, Jay?' Mimey asked, hopping up onto Jay's shoulder once he'd sat down. There was some angry chittering from his pocket, which they both ignored. "Yeah, prolly," he replied, tucking his device away for now, "Soon as Sebastian gets back 'n heals his pok'mon up. Why? Yew int'rested in contests, Mahmy?" He felt her shrug. 'I don't know! Maybe! A brief silence fell over them, but it was broken as Mary Lee came over, cooing happily. "Nuuum!" she greeted. Jay smiled, reaching a hand out, letting her nuzzle his palm, and then moving to gently pet her head. "Hey there, Mary Lee," he greeted back. She closed her eyes, snuggling up to his legs and rubbing against his hand affectionately. Mimey quietly watched from Jay's shoulder, frowning a bit. She knew Jay didn't hold the comment against her, and she knew it wasn't a big thing, but she still felt a little bad. She wasn't empathetic like Ralward, in fact, she could be downright oblivious at times, but she had learned to read Jay. She was often in his head and it wasn't hard to pick up on his emotions from that. And she could tell there were mixed feelings over this contest business than he was letting on.
She gave a silent sigh, hopping down, and moving over to join Koda in listening to the music. She laid down on her stomach, keeping a little distance so she didn't get too cold, and propping her head up on her hands. Koda had laid down, flashing her a smile as she joined him, then resting his head on the floor and closing his eyes, his tail still swishing and swaying to the music. At least for now, the group seemed to settle into a quiet calmness... but it didn't last very long.

She quickly stepped over, heaving herself up onto her hind legs to set her paws on Jay's knees, pushing Mary Lee out of the way a bit. The numel didn't seem to mind, compliantly backing up with a curious expression, but Jacque immediately frowned in disapproval. "Meleeon!" she demanded sharply. Jay straightened up, pulling his hands back. "Whaddaya want, Jade?" he questioned in a low voice, clearly expecting some sort of confrontation.

It didn’t take too long for them to finally find their way to the pokemon center, surprisingly. Sebastian was fairly certain he had gone in a circle or two at least twice, mistaking the red top of a restaurant for the pokemon center the first time around. Luckily he’d avoided the barber shop this time around; he didn’t need someone jumping at him again like in his first trip. No really the only slight hindrance was Gin, who had at some point given up attempting to use her newly evolved limbs for walking. Instead she did what seemed easier; clinging to the pant leg of her trainer. Sebastian didn’t mind this terribly but having a rather large mass of cotton fluff hanging from the side of your leg was rather awkward.
Allowing the hounds and Cubone to go first, he stepped inside the pokecenter, glancing around and catching sight of Jay sitting on a nearby bench. He hoped he hadn’t kept him waiting long; they’d been training for a bit after all.
"Hey Jay." He spoke up as he walked for the counter. He returned the crew and handed the pokeballs over, except for Gin. He had to gently pry her free from his leg, picking her up and gently handing her over to Nurse Joy, her little limbs flailing slightly in a mix of curiosity and merry greetings of the nurse. While his pokemon were being tended, he turned his attention back to the cowboy and his crew. "How’d your gym battle go?" He inquired, eyeing Jade a moment. She seemed... rather riled up?

He had heard about trainers going on epic training camps like this one, coming back entirely different people. He felt like training on Route 13 was the start of something new. He wouldn’t underestimate the gym leaders anymore. He wouldn’t overestimate his own Pokemon from here on out. He needed more though, he needed a way to increase his ability to gain experience. Wild Pokemon, even high above his own level were one thing but he wanted to fight strong Pokemon, stronger trainers. He wanted to reach that next level, he wanted to go through a breakthrough with his team.
Hitting the Pokemon Center he was looking for any other trainer who looked like they could give him a challenge. Sighing and scratching his head it was the same as always, kids with no idea what to do with their Pokemon. He felt like he was missing out on experiencing a fight with an elite trainer. After his Pokemon healed up he wanted to go see if he could get himself into any trouble, and maybe find a rival.

Jay heard the pokecenter doors open, of course, but he didn't recognize who had entered, at least not at first. Jade, whether she recognized them or not, snapped her attention over, though, dropping to all fours, her fur raising as she began growling, eyes burning with a sort of crazed fierceness. Jay might not have been able to really see what was happening, but he heard the growling, and given his interaction with the pokemon, he seemed to immediately catch just how aggressive she was acting. He immediately shot a hand out, grabbing hold of her fur and part of her ear and yanking her back slightly. "Don' you dare," he hissed, leaning down, blind gaze aimed at the floor, but his eyes narrowed and his expression dark. She snapped her head hard to look towards him, her hackles raising more, and he gave her a hard shake and shoved her down.
"Jade! Knock't off, 'r ah'll keep yew in yer pok'ball 'n store ya in the PC till next year," he snarled. She stared back at him, but he must have felt something in her change, because when she wrenched away, he let go. She shot under the bench, growling and twitching manically, pressed as hard against the wall as she could and jailed in by her trainer's legs. Jacque straightened up, frowning and looking bothered by his pokemon's reaction, but stood as he heard Jay, turning his head towards him slightly.
"Sorry," he apologized shortly, "Dunno what's gettin' into her. But... We won. Weren't as hard as ah thought, neither." The troublesome Magnemite popped out of its ball as Gio was trying to make his way to the other end of the city. "What do you think your doing?" Giovanni kind of jokingly asked. The Steel Type bussed back at him. It was attracted to something underneath a sheet of paper in the streets. Thankfully Gio was struck by curiosity and decided to check and see what it was. Underneath there was a Magnet and his Magnemite seemed to take a strong feeling for it so he gladly let his Pokemon pick it up. The newer Pokemon on his team seemingly showed itself as a typical member of the team as it wore the Magnet upside down on its main center screw. If Gio had spent his whole life devoted to Steel Type Pokemon he probably would have thought of it as a Magnezone which was not impossible but quite unpossible in its current eveloution on its line.

╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗ As he exited the Pokemon Center and made sure that his balls were all in their correct slots in his inner jacket pocket he made his way towards the center of town. Kalos had a few tourist locations but now more so than the Prism Tower, people came far and wide to see it and he would be doing himself a disservice if he didn’t at least stop by to see it. As he approached the Prism Tower he heard a familiar voice call out, “Daichi-San?!” he turned his head to see a familiar face on the JR circuit Kyo Iwaizumi, an old buddy of his.
“Iwaizumi-kun,” he reached out and shook the hand of the young man, Iwaizumi was a few years younger than Toru but was in the same class of prodigious trainer as he was. The two had gotten along as children because most of the talented young trainers bumped into each other and recognized each other, the JR circuit was only so big after all. He was excited to see him though, it was the first piece of familiarity he had really seen since his journey began. “What are you doing in Kalos?”
“I could ask you the same thing!” he spoke in an excitable way, but that was how he always was, “I’m actually working my way through the Kalos Leauge just getting back from defeating my second Gym Leader!” Opening the badge case he pulled from his bag he happily showed it off. “A bunch of us ended up setting out on adventures after you left, crazy how we bumped into each other here, I was just passing through on my way to Shalour city to start training for my next badge actually.”
“Good for you,” he was curious as to who he meant when he said a bunch of them left, a few names came to mind for trainers who could keep up with him but Iwaizumi was definitely one of the trainers who gave him the most trouble in the JR circuit. “I didn’t think we’d have the same amount of badges though I thought it would take you ages to catch up to me,” he grinned and slipped his hands into his pockets as he joked.
“Oh I got lucky and had some type advantages, it doesn’t matter how good you are sometimes luck can decide the battle,” the two were total opposites in that mindset, Toru saw winning or losing entirely as the trainers skill. “Well since we both have two badges why don’t we have a battle for old time sake?” Now he was talking, the entire time they had been making idle chatter he had been wondering how strong he was. Toru nodded in agreement, “yes! I can’t wait to see what kind of trainer you are Daichi-san!” The boy stepped back and took his backpack off pulling out four Pokeballs. “Alright let’s do this! Mudkip!” tossing out a Mudkip as his first Pokemon Toru grinned. Under the Prism tower the two would do battle, a reunion to mark off the start of a rivalry. Countering with a grass type Toru tossed out Makoto, “Ah nice I thought you might have a counter!”
