Scarlet gasped softly and moved her hands to cover her mouth, shocked by what Zaffer's... Eyes looked like. That was horrible.. She doubted that it was something he would have done himself. In fact, it seemed like something that would have been rather traumatic. She felt rather bad about it too.. The raven was more curious than anything else. It hopped off her shoulder, tilting its head for a better look before the man covered his eyes again. She lowered her hands, placing them on her lap, and ducked her head slightly. She was frowning, unable to think of anything to do now.. Until he asked about her being able to see through the bird only when it was on her shoulder. She thought for a moment, then shook her head. Physical contact had nothing to do with it, but it was extremely disorientating, especially if the bird was flying.

Scarlet tilted her head slightly when Zaffer started patting the bird's head. It was difficult not to flinch away, even though she knew it was the bird he was touching, not her. Seeing with the raven's help made some things difficult to deal with.. Such as when something happened with the bird, she might react as if it was happening to her. She was getting better at minimizing that though. There little connection was not limited to just sight. Thoughts could easily pass between the two, which allowed the raven to sort of understand when humans talked.. Mostly because she just unconsciously interpreted the words. The raven looked at the man somewhat curiously, but showed disapproval by snapping its beak at his hand before he had pulled it away. Seemed like the answer was a "no", for now at least.

Scarlet frowned at her bird's actions, though it didn't seem like it had bothered Zaffer.. Still, she didn't want to risk getting into trouble because of something the bird had done. She just sighed and reached out to gently stroke the feathers on its back, then clasped her hands together in front of her. The raven looked towards her, then back at the man. It hopped closer to her, but stayed on the table. It was interesting that the man was able to call another bird over to him.. Was he really able to use an animal's eyes the way she could? That had her a bit curious. She wondered if they had similar powers or something like that.

Scarlet was a bit curious and confused by the images the raven showed her of the man holding that other bird for so long. She didn't know what he was doing. The raven was mildly interested as well, letting out a croak as it slowly hopped closer to the man again. When he finally let go of the bird and it looked around, she just tilted her head. She rather wished she knew how to tell if someone was seeing through an animal's eyes, but she had not figured out how to yet. Still, she believed that Zaffer was, simply because he said so.. And also his comment about being able to see the world now. She was surprised that he said her hair was pretty. It made her duck her head slightly, while her reds slightly turned red.. She didn't really get complimented much, so it was a bit surprising. Although it made her feel rather embarrassed, she noticed it seemed like a more pleasant kind of embarrassment than she had ever really felt. It was a warmer feeling.. Without her noticing it, her lips curled into a small, gentle smile.

Scarlet's smile vanished when she heard Zaffer's words. She knew that he hadn't gotten her name yet. She had not told him. yet.. But might as well now. Remembering the pen and paper from earlier, she slowly lifted her right hand to pick up the pen. This time she didn't have to feel around for it, since her raven was right there to help her by looking over the table for it. She then put her left hand on the paper to hold it still. The bird turned towards the paper and looked down at it, tilting its head to have a good view of it, while she slowly wrote down her name. "Scarlet Iris." She then put down the pen and carefully picked up the paper, fumbling with it a little as she did. She accidentally cut herself on the paper, which made her drop it as she flinched and pulled her hand close to herself.

Scarlet stiffened a little when Zaffer took her injured hand, gently trying to pull it away.. But when he didn't immediately let go, she stopped and just stayed still. Her face turned a little pink when he kissed her finger, then quickly pulled her hand back and put it on her lap. She noticed that it didn't hurt anymore, but she didn't realize that the tiny cut had healed. She ducked her head a little when she was complimented again.. Now on her name. So many compliments, it was surprising and still embarrassing.. She started fidgeting and squirming a little in her seat.

Scarlet's face grew steadily redder as Zaffer continued talking. She went still for a few moments as she listened to what he was saying, then continued her fidgeting. The raven was busy turning its head to look first at her, then at the male. It didn't really understand what they were talking about. To it, that all seemed rather pointless, but it didn't really care either. It hopped up to her shoulder, having noticed how restless she was getting. It rightly assumed that she would want to leave soon. She just nodded awkwardly to what Zaffer said and then stood up, nearly tripping herself in her haste. She accidentally knocked over the bench she had been sitting sitting on, the sound of it falling making her jump a bit before she turned to pick it up. Her movements were a lot less hesitant than they had been when she had first gotten up to the roof, but now she had the large black bird back. As soon as she righted the bench, she turned in Zaffer's direction and kind of bowed slightly, before she turned away to head for the door that would lead back into the school. Yup, she was basically going to run away because she was embarrassed.

Scarlet paused when Zaffer spoke to her again, kind of hunching her shoulders. The raven cawed quietly, wondering what was wrong with her.. She was acting odd, from its point of view. As nice as it was to think that he was being honest, she didn't really believe what he had said.. But that did not lessen the embarrassment she felt. She just went straight to the door and put her right hand on the doorknob to open it.
