(( Ian = Dinner Table -> Anita and Justin (loosely) ))

For the past few minutes or so, Ian had largely stuck around the dinner table, quietly picking at the delicious foods and doing his best not to look completely antisocial. He cradled his secret santa present in the crook of his arm, using that hand to hold his plate as well. He'd resolved to simply standing hear the table and watching the other people mill around. He was feeling a little out of place, seeing how many of them knew at least a couple others, if not nearly everyone. He still didn't entirely understand why he'd been invited other than as the florist, but he hadn't been able to refuse. It was a nice party, too, so it wasn't wholly intimidating.

He found himself looking for Anita now, since she'd moved from the cocoa bar since the last time he'd seen her. She was no doubt talking with someone, seeing as she seemed to know so many people. He found her within a few minutes, sitting on one of the sofas with a man he'd seen earlier from afar. She was holding a present in her lap; was he her secret santa? Speaking of which, he still had no idea who his was. Maybe he could ask around...? Though that sort of required him to approach strangers and he hadn't ever been terribly good at that.

((Banter > Hot Chocolate Bar: Doucette, Lulu))

The Other surveyed a long table of jars and ingredients, hovering his hand over mixers and stirrers and scoops and getting just a bit agitated at the bombardment of choices. Cinnamon, nutmeg, peppermint chips, marshmallows, mint sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, vanilla power, chocolate powder...

"Sweet Georgia Brown—if I wanted to add some "Christmas Spirit" to my beverage that bad I'll just suck on a candycane and spit in the mug..." He muttered.

He was disappointed to realize that there was only tepid hot chocolate available, and none of the powders seemed to suggest they were for mixing a caffeinated drink. He looked miserably at the murky brown surface of his beverage, as naked and devoid of decoration as their living room in the new house. He sighed. A sugar rush wasn't going to be enough to get him through this evening.

He was in the middle of pondering where he might find a coffee-maker in this place, when he felt a line of electricity shoot up his back. A familiar feeling at the fringes of his awareness. Someone had spotted him. There were hairs on his neck and arms and chest that stood painfully on end, like a porcupine on the defense. It weirdly gave him a feeling of dread. Like there was someone in a sniper tower trying to scope him out with a rifle.

He knew this was a bad idea.

When he turned his head to investigate, the culprit was both obvious, and startlingly close. His eyebrows lifted a quarter-inch. Lulu.

He would know those bunny ears anywhere...

He had been trying to get a read on her, figure out what her problem was, when he was suddenly imposed upon by a smiling frizzy-haired woman that seemed to come out of nowhere. His expression looked stricken, fingers gripping tight around his mug. Sweet Jesus where did you come from!

His eyes darted over her face, a frown the only indication that he had recognized her. Oh. One of Genie's friends. They'd gone to see some stage-show or something together... That was quite a while back.

He squeezed the present in his other hand. Her name hadn't been Anita, had it? He swallowed, trying to put on his most neutral expression. His "Basil" face.

"Yes, hello." He said with an edge, glancing over her shoulder.

The woman asked him about Genie. His eyes flickered back to her.

He called up the sniper image again, and her obliviousness to his sense of urgency was starting to chafe. Something which his expression failed to represent, save for the sporadic twitching of discrete muscles in his face.

"Mhmm." He said tightly. "Last I saw she was at the dinner table. She should still be over there..." The suggestion left unspoken, but obvious.

He cut his eyes at the rabbit again. His pupils slivered.

The effect contrasted with his relatively normal appearance. In the sweater and hat and with the beginnings of a beard, he looked almost like a stock character in a Stephen King movie. Storm of the Century or Dreamcatcher. Some barfly or working-class townie in a quiet logging community that becomes surreptitiously possessed by some dark eldritch entity.

They didn't stay that way very long, his pupils filling out again with what looked like an intake of new information.

The last he remembered of her, she'd been laughing her head off. Deep vociferous belly-laughs at their expense. But she wasn't laughing anymore... In fact, she seemed to be doing her hardest to pretend he wasn't there, singling him out even more as the thing she must avoid. It was clear he had made her deeply, deeply uncomfortable...

He frowned. Good. Maybe that would inspire her to be of some help to him.

He nodded to Anita/Not-Anita, "Excuse me."

He approached the table slowly but deliberately, setting down both the mug and gift an equal distance apart, and with grave purpose. Like he was getting ready to present her a choice between the two.

He didn't take a seat, leaning on the edge of the table with his hands and bearing down upon her. He held her eyes a full second, then leaned in, his voice low and confidential. "I'll make this short," he said. No greeting. No introduction. None necessary. From the way she seemed to be shrinking into her seat, if she could have, he got the impression she would have launched, rocket-like, into the atmosphere to avoid this exact encounter.

He lifted his right hand from the table, extended the index finger, curved it, and then rapped it sharply on the handle of his ceramic mug. "I am in dire need of finding a coffee maker to dirty up this bland children's beverage." He lifted up same finger, dropping it down on the surface of the present. The wrapping paper made a crinkly noise, but underneath was something more substantial. Like wood or possibly leather.

"I am also looking for someone named Anita. This is for her."

He wet his upper lip with a stroke of his red tongue. Quick and lizard-like.

"Can you help me locate either of these two things. Please."

((Ebs - Entering -> Alcohol Bar // Delia - Entering -> Hot Chocolate Bar (Briefly) -> Dinner Table))

The drive to the Lab wasn't a long one in real time thankfully, yet in relative time it felt like an eternity. When prompted by her guardian about whether she was excited about seeing her friends, Cordelia merely shrugged her shoulders and continued on with the playing of a game she had on her iphone. To this Ebony merely sighed and continued on driving in weighted silence. Though things had seem to get a bit better in the few months since the snake's mystery outing in Durem, it was obvious something big had occurred (the likes of which the Brit still had no new information on) for Cordelia's normal cheery disposition to change so drastically. And though the girl treated her father well enough, the purple haired woman couldn't help but feel the mounting discontent the Raevan had whenever she tried to talk to her or even god forbid bond with her on any level. Honestly now the woman was wondering if dragging the girl out tonight had even been a good idea at all.

The minute the car stopped, Delia was out and floating as far and fast away from her guardian as she could. Some of it was her inability to keep from being annoyed by whatever Ebony said or did, yet most of it was to get in and out of he cold as quick as possible. Once inside, the smokey Frei relaxed some, but was in desperate need of something warm to quell her quickly dropping temperature. It wasn't hard for her to locate the closest warmth in the room, a table lined with steaming espresso machines. Though the scent coming from them was quite obviously chocolate of which Cordelia was not a fan of, it mattered little for she only needed the warmth and could easily just dispose of the human crafted beverage without partaking of its overly sweet taste.

She was only a few steps from it when she took notice of the patrons near the table and froze in mid progress. It was Basil, yet...not. Although not apparent to most that knew him, Cordelia could tell the stark difference between him and the Other. It was all in the way of their presence. Basil was so not the confrontational type and yet here he was, intimidating some poor rabbit girl for whatever reason. Once upon a time, she would have intervened, but He had made it quite clear that she was not needed nor wanted and thus had taken her leave. Hell it had been so long since they saw one another that maybe that One had completely taken over and there was nothing left of her sweet, awkward cobra.

As not to draw anymore attention to herself, the basilisk wound her green and grey scarf more tightly around her neck before tugging her black hoodie further down her head to cover her face more. Silently she snaked her way across to the other side of the room where all the real food was. It seemed she would have to deal with soup as her heat provider for tonight.

Left alone to lock the car and enter the Lab by herself, all Ebony could do was sigh heavily. She was hoping that maybe seeing old friends again would help her charge to brighten up, yet what she saw on entering the room was a completely anti-social move to be as far away from Basil and another Raevan (LuLu?) as she could get. The Brit rubbed her forehead profusely then. She was going to need something to get her through tonight and true to custom, the Lab was generous in the area of adult drinks.

(( Entrance --> Lobby --> Dinner Table ))

The Demon entered without fanfare nor a sense of wonder at seeing the party in all its splendor; he'd been there enough to see what was being put up, and even helped out with some of the higher decorations since Laz was still absent. He'd been less thrilled with who he'd been assigned for Secret Santa, but that was mostly because he'd only met the Frei once, and as a first born, he'd...left a hell of an impression. Even so, he was relatively surprised - and pleased - at the turn out, blue eyes flickering over familiar and new Raevans, along with the same variety of humans (and those that were humanoid). He kept his oblong shaped present tucked against his side beneath his arm, watching for a moment.

Zul could see a divide he never had before: people didn't know each other. Raevans were meeting. It was less a party for old friends and more an acquaintance situation. It left a bad taste in his mouth, especially given what happened the last time there was such a group as this in July.

He wanted to give pause and greet the gaggle of Raevans in the lobby, but they all seemed rather engrossed in their discussion. The Sigel wasn't much in the mood to deal with Ekundayo yet either, and as such, he skirted the large group and instead headed towards a less populated section. He had, of course, immediately picked out his Rivener and would have gone to him post haste if he hadn't had the chef attached to his hip. The distraction was enough that the demon briefly brushed against Ian, murmuring a soft apology to the man before he settled behind Delia, gathering his wits about him. Something was off about the party, as even his dear Cordelia seemed to be, well...agitated.

"Hell of a season to be dour, my dear Stormy," he purred in soft greeting, concerned for her demeanor but thoroughly excited to see his dear friend again.

((Shepard, Vivi, Cesc --> Entering. Shepard --> food table))

"Should've eaten first," Shepard was saying, rubbing his eyes with the heel of his hands as the trio made their way up to the Lab doors. It had been a while since he'd been to the Lab -- the last few times holding absolutely no joy for him, even though it always pleased him to see Alex. The sight of the place seemed to give him a slight headache, but the Australian could not help but confess inwardly he was glad to be going to the Lab for a party, and not for the place's medical services.

He walked first, pulling the door open for his companions. There was nothing about his dress that was particularly festive. Dark jeans, a long-sleeved tee beneath a black and grey hooded jacket, a blue beanie to keep his head warm. Rhedefre, too, behind him, was not particularly festively attired, wearing a tight-knit blue-grey sweater and a black scarf.

The frei was looking leaps and bounds better than he had in months. The calm that had always made its home around him returned, the easy smile slid comfortably back onto his lips. He was bigger, bulkier than he had been before, due to his training with Iorek, and he shaved for the party, his cheeks and jaw again smooth. His hair, too, had grown back, and Cesc had combed it for the occasion, taking some of the unruliness out of his curls. In his hands was a small white-and-gold package, tied up with a golden thread.

"Oh, what a complaint~" Vivi hummed behind him, bringing up the rear. She tapped her shoes prettily on the entrance mat, getting rid of some of the accumulated snow upon them. She wore white faux-fur ear-warmers and a matching capelet, tied around her neck. She wore a sweater dress of a deep red hue, with thick white stockings and white ankle boots. Her dark hair was free, cascading down her back, and she clipped it back with little gold star pins, which shimmered in the light as she walked. "As if there will be nothing for the Shepard to eat -- oh!"

She lifted her eyes from her shoes and caught sight of the decorations, the Lab transformed into a winter wonderland. A smile blossomed over her face. "Ooh! Is it not the perfection?"

Shepard's eyes, meanwhile, went straight to the roast beef, like a predator spying prey. A strange, bestial look glimmered in his eyes. "******** me, it is."

Rhedefre suppressed a smile, turning in a full circle to look at all the Lab party had to offer. So many Raevans -- some he'd never seen before, and some he knew quite well. They all seemed well enough. Healthy enough. Happy enough.

No Anya, he noticed.

Not that that was a surprise, under any circumstances.

"Try not to disappear all night," the stag said to Shepard, good-naturedly. "I need you to point out to whom I give this."

"Mm," replied Shepard, but he was already gone.

((Delia - Dinner Table))

The snake was frowning when she'd gotten to the table. Not because she wasn't impressed by the selection, no the Lab always out did themselves in that department, but because try as hard as she might Cordelia could not completely forget the unusual rash developing on herself. They were small patches at the moment, but they were stone grey and even felt hard like rock. It wasn't the look or feel of them that made her so annoyed (though it was part of it), but where they met her actual skin that bugged her. It itched horribly most of the time and since she was in a public setting at the moment, she was trying very hard not to bring too much attention to her scratching herself so much. But damn it, it was so hard!

Scratching the back of her wrist ever so briefly, Cordelia started to make herself a bowl of chicken soup. She actually had this once before and it was pretty good from what she remembered. Something about the flavor of the meat settled well with her so she didn't mind much that it was human food. Honestly all she cared most at the moment was that it was gonna be nice and warm.

So focused on herself, Cordelia hadn't noticed Zul's presence and was actually startled when he spoke. Bowl sipping from her fingers and clattering to the floor, the basilisk felt a blush break across her face in embarrassment. Defeated the girl sighed heavily, "Is it that obvious?" Grabbing some nearby napkins the smokey Raevan set to work on cleaning up her mess as best as possible.

[Doucette -> Cocoa Table with Lulu, and Basil - redirecting to Zeke]

The redhead observed the subtle change in the cobra but failed to pick up on it. He'd been so sweet at the theater. At little off perhaps, but he and Ren had seemed to hit it off rather well once the two of them had gone off about music. It had been months since that adventure though, weeks for these ever growing and ever changing creatures to find a new attitude towards something.

She'd watched the changes in Ren, especially around the full moon and the way her moon seemed to heighten, sometimes barring herself in her room with soft music playing or watching loud, violent movies with wide, somewhat frightening eyes.

Whatever was the matter with Basil, she had not gotten to know him well enough to reach out a comforting hand, and so at his excusing himself and verbally prodding her in the direction of Genie she turned her head slightly to Lulu, an apologetic look on her face. It wasn't her place to impose, as uncomfortable as the rabbit obviously was. Should she make a move for the Irish woman to stay, she would, but otherwise her feet were moving her away, towards the dinner table.

This trajectory only took her so far, however, for she spotted a colourful being just at the other side of the cocoa bar and Doucette thought it best if she killed two birds with one stone - keeping her closeness to Lulu should it be required, but also delivering a certain present she'd left sitting under the Christmas tree.

"Zeke!" she exclaimed happily, moving over to him. "I don't know how I missed you coming in, looking as wonderful and bright as you always do!" Doucette beamed at the raver, though her eyes slid to the frei she'd left when she could, careful to keep an eye on things.

Prior to this please ignore any mention of Doe not having a SS - since Ravi and I didn't sign up we (late) decided to be each others = w=b

[Revontulet - Cruz, Dayo, Domo and Eth in the Lobby]

Revon remained ignorant of the others around her, happily absorbed in the little group that they had formed off to the side. It was obvious in the way her eyes seemed to shimmer and her rune glowed with a slow and bright pulse that she was content beyond words. For the newborn, get togethers of this magnitude had only happened for her with the search for the Doctor, and that had been nothing like this time. Nothing like this happiness.

Those eyes watched Domo with curiosity as he circled her, the girl's head dipping slightly to the side and causing a bit of hair to come loose from the delicate sweep over her brow the frei had so painstakingly crafted. The curiosity was forgotten, however, when his hand slipped into hers. The aurora visibly relaxed into the touch, her wings giving a half-hearted flutter before folding to rest lazily on her back, twitching only ever so often.

At Domo's squeeze Ren's lips popped open slightly, as if she were about to gasp, but no sound came out. Instead the little 'o' morphed into a small smile and she gave him a little squeeze back.

"If Doucette will come, I hope Elai will distract her. I want to spend my time with Domo and Luka only. Every day I am with Doucette, I don't need to be with her more." The frei heaved a little sigh at the end of her sentence before turning her gaze about the room, watching the demon and the stag arrive before her attention was back to those she'd been speaking with.

"I am already excited about next Christmas," Revontulet said to the group, a light laugh in her voice

((Zeke --> Cocoa Bar))

He caught sight of her before she greeted him, but the words were welcome to Zeke's ears all the same. His grin grew as the ever-lovely Doucette made her way over to him and the vet couldn't resist opening his arms to wrap her up in a fond hug, laughter pouring from his pierced lips at her compliment.

"Might need to get your eyes checked," he chuckled as he pulled away from the redheaded woman, giving her a playful wink. "Though I did come in rather unannounced, I have to admit. I accidentally left the airhorn at home."

Another peal of light laughter escaped the veterinarian and he looked Dou up and down in order to return her compliment. In all her glitz and gold she looked like an ornament and stood out amid the blue and white decor Jeremy had selected for the lobby. He hadn't missed her - they had waved to one another - but he had to admit he had missed her fanciful outfit at first glance. If Anya was here, he was sure, she would love every bit of Doucette right now.

"You look like you should be on top of a Christmas tree, Dou!" He knew he had to fetch the gifts for the redhead and her Raevan, but that could be done in good time. Thinking of Revontulet, Zeke scanned the crowd for the pretty Aurora, finding her in the company of two Raevans he knew and two he did not. He hoped she would like the gift he had picked out in Anya's name in lieu of the Widow's predicament, but again, all in good time. Turning back to the redhead, he of course had to get the pleasantries out of the way as well as quell his curiosity.

"How have you been? And let me introduce these two - the big guy next to me is Harrison Troxel, and the Frei he's speaking to is Luka."

[Doucette -> Cocoa Bar with Zeke, Trox and Luka]

The man's laughter was infectious and she laughed along with him, her arms tightening around that silly looking shirt and the sweater around his waist that really looked simply wonderful on the raver. It was amazing to her how the man managed to coordinate in things that she would have thought were totally haphazard had they been on a mannequin or another human being. Perhaps it was simply in the way he wore them or the way Zeke's smile just lit up the room and you desired to focus on nothing else that made it so easy to accept his fashion statements.

"And you should be hanging over a doorway," she teased, poking the mistletoe on his shirt with one obviously recently manicured nail a brilliant red which stood out against all the pale golds and sparkling jewelry.

As Zeke looked for Ren, Doucette's eyes also trolled the heads of those milling about, searching for a certain pale purple before returning to Zeke with a puzzled expression in her gaze, a furrowing of her brow. Although Anya had not struck her as the most outgoing and enthusiastic of raevans, it also did not seem that it was her nature to avoid these situations.

Before the woman could enquire about the other's charge she was being introduced to two familiar faces and her face lit up once again at the sight of the light frei. "Luka, how wonderful to see you. This season must be so wonderful for you," Doucette practically gushed, a slight hint of nervousness in her tone despite the warm greeting. The reason for the nerves was the blush creeping up her neck as she turned to greet Trox, her hand lifting into a little wave of hello at the pilot. Somehow he always made her feel very awkward. "And Trox, it is so nice to see you again as well. I hope soon you will have your own little one wandering about and making friends," she said with a smile, referring to his somewhat recent soul capture of course.

(( Dinner Table with Delia & Shep ))

The demon watched the snake jolt, the soup spilling from her hands. His eyes were a touch wide and his concern began to outweigh his excitement. "Just a touch," he commented in a delicate tone, putting his present on the table and grabbing some napkins as well. He wet them with his own power quite automatically, sopping up after Delia so it wouldn't be sticky later. On his hands and bowed ribbon, Zul gave her a hard look, one that accepted no bullshit and clearly said no one else could see. "If you need to talk, I'm always here for you, Delia. Time does not make my fondness less, nor my loyalty wane." The demon leaned forward and briefly kissed her brow, not actually able to recall when the last time was that he saw her, and if something had been of upset then. He took the dirty napkins from her hands and bunched them with his own once the mess was cleaned, not allowing any form of argument, righting himself and throwing away all evidence of the mess. If only it were so easy to remove the upset from his Basilisk's eyes.

Floating back, he spotted Shepard, smiling to himself a little; the man was on a mission, but such was the case with food. "Shep," he greeted the man familiarly as he returned to Cordelia's side, twining an arm around her shoulders as though he might steady her by his mere touch alone. "Good to see you. Is the rest of your beautiful family present...?" Zul kept his askance light, hoping to steal some affection from Vivi -- and more importantly, to see how Cesc was doing.

{{{ Sofas - Anita}}}

Justin scratched his face sheepishly and then pointed to the green gift bag (Which was now shedding glitter ever-so-delicately on the table). "That's my Secret Santa. You, on the other hand.... I got it just because." He shrugged,, his ears turning a faint pink. "You're always really nice and cool, so when I heard Zeke talking about who was coming to this, I figured 'why'?" Pausing, he ran one finger along the now-empty hot chocolate mug, ; his hands dwarfed it.

"You'd be surprised at how much stuff I overhear. I'm here fairly often; they always seem to mess up a computer or printer. And Zeke likes to chat." He chuckled, the red fading from his cheekbones a bit. Heavily, he sat back and something fell with a loud clack onto the floor. A faint music drifted upwards. Somehow, the game thing had come open! And of course, he had been in the midst of a battle. Groaning, he closed his eyes. He reached down, only to discover it had fallen under the table. "Sorry," his moth twisted into a wry smile. "I think it might be closer to your side."

(( Cruz - Lobby with Ethiriel, Revontulet, Ekundayo, Domevlo, & Leo --> looking for Xan / Anita - Sofas with Justin ))

Cruz smiled and blinked at Domevlo who seemed to be observing him. The croc, too, looked the leaden frei over and took particular interest in his hands -- he didn't have a pinky! This discovery nearly distracted Cruz from Domevlo's indication to his guardian, causing the green frei to double take before following the gesture and description. "Oh!" he chimed with surprise. He quickly pulled his smile back and nodded to Domevlo, "Thank you!" he would have to take a minute to go speak with Thanatos soon, then. He was curious what a stranger could get for him.

He watched Revontulet take charge with their new companion and couldn't help but smile. Cruz kept a gentle hold of Ethiriel's hand and looked between the three girls of his group and the horned boy. He didn't mind at all when conversation turned away from him, Cruz just enjoyed watching everyone interact and smile. The croc took a deep breath and pulled Ethiriel's hand back to his chest, then gently rested his cheek against her knuckles. It was around then that Leo whispered his name and the frei startled slightly but was smiling no less upon seeing her guardian. His green eyes lit up brightly at the mention of Duncan and he nodded.

"Yes! Yes, I know Duncan," Cruz floated a bit higher and craned his neck over the crowd, scanning. A lot of people's backs were turned while they stood at the tables, and that made things a little difficult, but Duncan was pretty easy to pick out in the crowd due to his posture. Picking him out of the crowd made Cruz nearly vibrate with excitement -- or was that just a shiver from the cold air when the door was opened? "He's there. See?" a clawed finger pointed over a few heads, "Older man?" Briefly, Cruz wondered if Duncan's presence meant that Jerri and Jillette were here but, surely, he would have heard more of an excited ruckus from the children if they were present at all. Duncan must have come by himself.

If Leo and Ethiriel were going to go deal with Duncan's secret santa business, he supposed he should get his own dealt with as well. He was excited, anyway. Gently, Cruz released Ethiriel's hand after giving it a warm squeeze and making sure that she was well grounded with Leo's help. Both of his hands, then, went for Revontulet's and Ekundayo's, respectively, and he pulled them gently towards him with a smile. "I'll be back. Find me if you need me," he looked particularly at Revontulet when he said this, but the message was for all three of the frei's present. He locked eyes with Dayo and smiled, catching a glimpse of her lips which still looked warm and inviting, "Very nice to meet you, Dayo. Thank you for your kiss." His attention turned to Domevlo, then, as he released the girls' hands, and pointed toward his guardian on the sofa, "Nita has your gift. She has a braid and a very nice laugh. I'll go see Thanatos, thank you." Before departing, Cruz again smiled and met the eyes of each of them. As he floated away, he brought his hands to his face, soaking up the residual warmth and sensation of holding their hands. Now he just needed to find Thanatos in the crowd -- that shouldn't be too hard with him wearing a cowboy hat!

---

At this news, Anita blinked dumbly. Her lips parted and she stared back down at the gift, her own cheeks lightly gaining a pink tint. Justin's mention of Zeke talking about her brought her out from her stupor and made Anita smile and laugh. "Yeah, I guess that's true," her fingers drummed lightly on the sides of the box and looked back up at him with a grin, "Thank you so much. I'm sorry I don't have anything in exchange, I -- only brought secret santa stuff." Anita laughed anxiously, looking back down at the package. Couldn't open till Christmas, huh? Looks like it was going under the tree as soon as they got back home.

While Justin adjusted in his seat, a dull thwack sounded against the floor and Anita craned her head. It took a second for her to locate the object but she heard the faint music coming from its small speakers -- that sounded familiar. Carefully setting her gift aside with Domevlo's, Anita bent down and plucked the 3DS up with a soft grunt then settled and slouched back in her seat. She grinned at Justin over the top screen, then pulled the system up enough to hide her face. Her thumbs went to work quickly. It seemed he was in the midst of a wild Pokemon battle and he was pretty far along with a decent team of uncommons he must have acquired through fairly rigorous trading. She poked through his bag, checked what kind and how many pokeballs he had, then sorted through his team and assessed their types in relation to the opponent; he didn't have this one yet, it seemed he was interrupted just as things were getting started. Justin's entire team was named fairly creatively, with a*****e running the show. Anita laughed and idly turned the music up, just enough for Justin to hear what she was doing. It took a minute but she whittled the wild one's health down considerably and chucked one of his more plentiful balls at it. An excited and loud giggle sounded off as she read guuuurrl tossed a pokeball!. It wiggled. Wiggled. Wiggled...

Chck!

With that, Anita quickly sat up and handed the game back just as the triumphant music trilled to life. "You're welcome."

((Vivi, Shep, Cesc ---> Dinner table with Zul and Delia))

Shepard hadn't noticed that soup had spilled on the ground, or that Zul or Delia were present. Honestly, he wouldn't have noticed if a three-headed hellbeast stood between him and the glorious, pink-middled, juicy, herb-crusted, carve-your-own roast beef. It was a vision of loveliness, garnished with herbs, mantled on all sides by a moat of mashed potatoes. Shepard would have crossed oceans of soup to be with that roast beef.

He was startled from his reverie by someone addressing him directly, and looked over to see both Zul and Cordelia, the former with an arm around the latter. Had he ... missed something? Then again, Cordelia always was an enigma to him, and he hadn't seen her since a few summers prior, when he'd come upon her practicing violin on the seaside...

Taking up the carving knife, Shepard offered the both of them a masculine sort of grin, having the politeness to at least look somewhat embarrassed at having been caught mid-pounce for the roast beef. "Oi, Zul! Good to see you, bud, and you, too, Cordelia. It's been a while, y'look great."

Well, she didn't, really. She looked distracted and a touch upset, but then, Shepard thought he'd met a different Cordelia every time he'd seen her, so...

"We are all here, of course!" came a French-accented voice, saving Shepard from further conversation and allowing him to get to the business of serving himself. Vivi came up on Zul's free side and did not wait for a salutation, standing on her toes and kissing his cheek, her hands around his arm. "What a pleasure it is to see you, you masterpiece! And oh! petit chou, it has been so long!" She said, turning her attention to Cordelia.

Ambling behind them at a slower pace was Cesc, who was looking around at other Raevans, trying to guess who Ekundayo might be. He turned at last toward Zul and Cordelia, and a smile blossomed over his handsome face.

"Zul, great to see you," he greeted, with an easy affection in his voice. He looked at Cordelia and nodded his head in salutation.

"Ohhh, that is correct! You have not met, yes? Cordelia, this is Rhedefre -- or Cesc, if you prefer -- Cesc, this is the petit chou, Cordelia."

(( mordekai -> alcohol bar, camille, josh, aphismet ))

When Camille took the tequila from him, Mordekai wasn't disappointed in the least-- in fact, he stared at the younger man with a curious glint in his feature, his mouth now settled into a teasing, growing smile. He dropped his hand momentarily after the bottle was taken from him, though it immediately extended towards Camille to take the flask from him. He took a whiff and couldn't help but laugh-- what the hell was in this, well-scented rat poison? Exciting.

He raised the flask to Camille. "Yea, yeah? A'rite, les'see if y'ain't jes' foolin." He tipped his head back and gave the flask a long, hard swing-- a pressing, burning ten, eleven, twelve seconds. A sting and rush of alcohol-hot rushed through his throat and he leaned right back forward. He squeezed his eyes shut, scrunched his face up and hissed, though it only took him a few moments to chuckle and rumble with a light, pleasant ********> Mordekai chortled-- he reached (relatively) blindly around the assortment in front of him and popped open a bottle of Bushmills, which he drank straight from with unbidden attention to the fact that yes, this was in public, for the public. He managed to soften some of the grog's residual burn with a soft gulp of the whiskey, which he settled down with a loud clack against the bar table. At this point, he was holding a bottle of whiskey in one hand, flask in the other.

He pointed at Camille with his flask hand, grinning in his warmth. "This s**t's straight-up dangerous. Ye'know I denno if h'kin give y'this back in good conscience." He regarded what Camilla said about his pilot friend eagerly, though, and nodded. He set the whiskey down and brushed a hand through his hair and waited for Camille to finish addressing Josh before speaking again; he regarded the brunette with a sheepish but pleasant smile.

"Merry Chrimmus," he slurred. When Josh denied the tequila, though, he pouted a bit and furrowed his brows. He beamed at Josh playfully, "C'mon, y'cain' deny a guy on de holidays. A l'il more won't kill ya!"

He cozied his weight against that of the bar and shrugged, laughing, glancing as Camille leaned closer to him-- he didn't mind it in the least. He regarded Trox as he was walking around the area, then nodded, contemplating. "Yea, he sure got somma dat babyface goin' on too, an' I kin tell he ain't carry 'imself so young. 'Ey, whateva' y'kin get away wit'-- I hear'f crazier s**t runnin' this shitty place."

He quieted once he noticed even more people approaching the bar, though, and offered Aphismet and Rivener a halfhearted grin. He poured a bit of the whiskey into his now-empty coffee cup, though at Rivener's mention of Camille, he quirked his head towards the Sigel. He waved his hand toward Aphismet and Rivener.

"'Ey, y'lookin' fo' a Camille, fella's right over here!"

((Ebs - Alcohol Bar // Delia - Dinner Table))

It wasn't until she got closer to the bar did she realize it seemed to consist of mainly men. Rolling her grey eyes, Ebony couldn't help but think it was sort of typical for this at a time of year such as Christmas. Any reason to get drunk right? Then again what did that say about a woman such as herself that went straight for the hard stuff the minute she walked into the room? Whatever it was, it wasn't good that was for sure.

The selection seemed pretty good at the bar, but her only complaint was the apparent lack of a tender. She sighed a bit again, cursing her luck, but continued to slid in and saddle up next to everyone else. Foregoing any ice, Ebony grabbed a tumbler and quickly poured the closest bottle of scotch she saw, "Don't mind me boys, just trying to get into the holiday spirits."

She had just finished cleaning up her part when the demon was all of a sudden directly in front of her with those icy blue eyes, clearly trying to see what it was that had her so unlike herself tonight. Cordelia opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off by Zul's kind words and the kiss he so gently placed upon her forehead. The basilisk was so taken aback by this all she could do was sit there in stunned silence. After all this time, he still cared about her. It was enough to make her shed a couple tears, one hand ghosting above the spot on her brow.

As she began to right herself up again, Delia found that the Sigel was quick to wrap his arm around her, locking her in place next to him, almost as if to make sure she didn't go off somewhere to brood by herself. Maybe she would have, maybe she wouldn't, but the gesture was most welcomed all the same. As fast as she could, Cordelia brushed her tears aside before Shepard or anyone else could notice.

"Ah Shepard, it's good to see you again..." the dark girl replied with her attempt at a small smile. Though that smile became a genuine one once she heard the exotic exclamations of Vivi. "Vi-..." Cordelia began, but was stopped when a pink haired Raevan followed up behind her and was quickly introduced. She almost couldn't believe her eyes. Had it really been this long since she'd seen the woman?

Feeling it truly rude of herself for an introduction, Cordelia finally pulled down the hood to her sweatshirt and tried to smooth the mess that was her unrestrained hair. "Vivi, I can't...when..." The girl was almost unable to find words for meeting the new Frei. At last the snake simply shook her head and gave a light laugh. "I'm terribly sorry Cesc. It's good to meet you."
