(( Sorry for the delay, but I got wrapped up in writing a lengthy post for another of my guilds. I'm here now! )) Nolan just nodded as Graham gave him a few pointers about preparation and avoiding desperation, but he wouldn't look up until the other trainer said good night. The advice was nice, but Nolan also felt like a scolded kid who forgot his homework. He wasn't a little kid anymore, but out here, out in the dark wilderness where the Ghost pokemon could be, Nolan felt small. He wished he was back in Lavender Town, even though that was where Ghost pokemon were guaranteed to be at this hour. "I'm sorry ... again, Graham, for waking you. I'll try to keep quiet, and I'll apologize to my pokemon." When the tent flap closed again, Nolan gave the Hoothoot a look, but really didn't want to get on the Owl Pokemon's bad side. Nolan scooped a few handfuls of sand to uncover part of Nincada's head, but that's when someone else approached the small camp. Shivy was the first to see Chael, and she recognized him, so did Nolan once he came into the light from the fire. He seemed taken aback by the question though. "Oh ... yeah, I guess that should be okay. Graham just said I could stick around so long as I didn't mess with his stuff. Is your pokemon okay?" Shinx would have loved to meet yet another new pokemon, but the little lion cub was back to sleeping, warm by the campfire since all the action seemed to have died down again. But Snivy was being cold and aloof, walking to and fro to collect twigs and sticks she could carry, piling them up. SNIVY LV.7 MAGIKARP LV.7 SHINX LV.4 NINCADA LV.5 #ooo20 LOCATION || Route 2.

T.T. watched the newcomer intently, trying to decide if this new Trainer was a threat or if he was just going to leech off Graham's preparedness too. And so the Hoothoot just watched from his perch. Apparently the first guy knew the second guy. Maybe this was all planned and they were gonna attack his Trainer later? That would be bad. Post 57 Laying a sleeping bag on the sand, Chael promptly got in. "Argos is fine. Pride broken but nothing that catching a Pokemon tomorrow won't cure." He sent out the other four who had done amazing, in his eyes, against the Elite Four. If someone wanted to say otherwise he'd send out them all to give any idiot would say that the meaning of the word 'pain'. Lizzy laid down next to him, sleeping quiet soundly in mere seconds. Fear huddled up in his chest and yawned. Rattata's were partially nocturnal and needed little sleep so she'd be good. Tsuki did the same, next to her. Bruce put his square log down and leaned against it, closing his eyes. Argos slept in between Chael's left arm and body. He stroked the reptiles scarred body. The little water type would be a total savior the moment he goes up against that Dragonite. By then he'd have all his badges. "Ever wonder when the Blyse City leader is getting back?" he asked, keeping to small talk. Normally he'd have shrugged most people off but having met the Elite Four, he saw himself in the man. He didn't like what he saw. From pitying the weak he seemed to change to the type that would give the fools who oppressed the weak a taste from the back of his palm. Interesting. Although his quiet and observant demeanor was the same. Snivy seemed to understand what was going through the Hoothoot's mind. After all, the Owl pokemon hadn't taken it's large eyes off of them. But she couldn't really blame it, so she put up no quarrel. Finally satisfied with the small stack of sticks, Snivy found her own spot near the fire to curl up in, although she also kept watch. Nolan was quiet and reflective for the moment, petting the Nincada on the head with a finger once the bug started to wave his antennae at him. Slowly the bug pokemon crawled out of the sand, and Nolan sighed, but it wasn't exactly in relief. In truth, Nolan hadn't arrived in time to watch Chael's entire battle. He had only seen what had happened after the Eelektross was switched out for Dragonite, but it had been enough for Nolan to guess why Chael's pokemon looked sore. It was a reminder that Nolan didn't want to see his pokemon hurt, at all. "I didn't know the gym leader was out, but I don't think we're ready anyway. It's only been the first day. What was that guy all about anyway? The trainer with the Dragonite." SNIVY LV.7 MAGIKARP LV.7 SHINX LV.4 NINCADA LV.5 #ooo21 LOCATION || Route 2.

Post 58 "That guy was checking out new trainers and asked me for a match to test me out. He's an Elite Four member." Chael said, deciding it best to describe his team and thus added "Absol, Electross, Dragonite, Mamoswine, and a Gallade. That's how many I managed to force out before it got late and walked over here." The boy acted like it was nothing by he was aware by how lucky he was. Most trainers never fought a member and he fought one on his first day. And did pretty good at that. "I kind of have a selfset deadline to find someone so I need to continue, ready or not. And make every moment count." he said, giving the stars a look. They were hardly visible for miles around Goldenrod City. They looked nice. Nolan managed to coax Nincada all the way out of the sand, and the bug pokemon went back to ... well, whatever Nincada liked. When he was just underground there was almost never anything to look at, and there was always sap to eat nearby. So there was no reason to move, or even consider to move. Now he was doing things, and also doing nothing at all. Bored, yet liking it too, Nincada settled down on top of the sand now next to Nolan's legs. Meanwhile, Nolan was thinking deeply and for awhile, pondering over what Chael had said. He tossed a few more sticks on the fire, but as he did, he counted in his head as he went over the names of the Elite's pokemon. "That's five. That means that Elite Four member had one more he could have been carrying with him. I wonder what the last one was ... and that was crazy of you to accept that challenge. Um, but do you mind if I ask who it is you're going to go find?" SNIVY LV.7 MAGIKARP LV.7 SHINX LV.4 NINCADA LV.5 #ooo21 LOCATION || Route 2.

Post 59 The fire crackled, dancing along as little sparks flew up into the night sky. Chael hadn't gone camping in forever. In fact he had expected he would've spent the night at the Pokemon Center, as they allowed trainers to spend the night. He yawned. "It was crazy but it was worth it. I learned he's an overpowered and cocky individual. Plus I've seen most of his team so I know what to expect next time." he said back. Yes, he had every intent on re-fighting the Elite Four again when he had some more experience. When Nolan asked who he was looking for, his eyes twitched. That was a pretty touchy topic for him. In truth the person was none other than his father. He had learned he had ran away here before he knew his mother was pregnant with Chael. He had just gotten up and left without a trace besides a one lettered note reading: Genesia. The only place with a city that name was Etrua. You could figure out why he was really here by that bit of info. Not to be the champion, not to get all the badges, only to defeat his father and leave. In disgust. Although all that came through his mouth was "An old friend. I heard he moved here." Although Chael hadn't outwardly reacted very much to the question, it was enough for Nolan to pick up on. Snivy even was giving Chael a look, but she quietly huffed and went back to watching the area with Hoothoot. Nolan bit his tongue, scratching the top of his head to allow him to duck a little and not have to meet Chael's eyes. Brushing out some stray sand and salt from hair, it also gave him a second more to think. He had gotten a kind of intense vibe there from the other trainer, and Nolan was starting to understand why this guy had even accepted the Elite's challenge at all. Chael was just intense. Nolan couldn't think of a better way to describe it. "Oh, I hope you find him then. I don't know anyone in this region ... err, except my pokemon, I guess." For a couple seconds it seemed that Nolan was going to give the conversation a rest, but then he went back to the subject of that Dragonite's trainer. "How can anybody really be overpowered? That sounds like a good thing to me, because then no one can really defeat him. He must be doing something right to have so many strong and tough pokemon on his team. But you have to admit, it was also pretty cocky that you would fight like that. I saw what the Dragonite did to your Rattata and Eevee." Morning had come too soon. Graham was woken up by T.T. at dawn, who demanded some attention after having to watch over a pair of humans who would fail at Survival 101 because of how unprepared they were for camping out. After stroking the side of the owl's head and feeding it a treat, he packed up the inside of his tent before calling the bird back into his Pokeball. After changing into his travel clothes, he left the tent. ... There was another person that had decided to use his campsite to spend the night. He was a tad bit irritated over the entire thing and how these people had no sense of responsibility and would use other people's equipment. But he at least respected them by staying quiet as he silently dismantled the tent to put back in his bag. Graham then snuffed the dying embers from the campfire before heading off back to Route 1. ~~~~~~ Graham leaves for Route 1 and 2 Adventures~~~~~~~ Mudkip (Kippers) / Male / Received at Valerian's Lab / Level: 9 / Holding: Nothing / Ability: Torrent /Atk: Tackle /Atk: Growl /Atk: Mud Slap /Atk: Shinx (Lucius) / Male / Caught on Rt. 1/ Level: 8 / Holding: Nothing / Ability: Intimidate /Atk: Tackle /Atk: Leer /Atk: /Atk: Hoothoot (T.T.) / Male / Caught on Rt. 1/ Level: 6 / Holding: Nothing / Ability: Insomnia /Atk: Tackle /Atk: Growl /Atk: Foresight /Atk: Hypnosis Nincada (Sheena) / Female / Caught on Rt. 2/ Level: 6 / Holding: Nothing / Ability: Compoundeyes /Atk: Scratch /Atk: Harden /Atk: Leech Life /Atk: Shiny Lotad (Miror B.) / Male / Caught on Rt. 2/ Level: 7 / Holding: Nothing / Ability: Swift Swim /Atk: Astonish /Atk: Growl /Atk: Absorb /Atk: Nature Power Ralts (Lloyd) / Male / Caught on Rt. 1/ Level: 4 / Holding: Nothing / Ability: Trace /Atk: Growl /Atk: /Atk: /Atk: 33

Post 60 "I came here under the same mindset. Let's just say the ability to use power properly and honorably is more important than actually having it." Chael said as he fell fast asleep..... Chael woke, smelling the crisp sea air of the morning. Quickly changing his shirt and putting his shoes back on, he looked at the misty surroundings. He put the sleeping bag in his bag as he saw his Pokemon all doing fine. A little shaken, but conscious and healthy. He rubbed Lizzy's side. Whinnying, she galloped after Bruce got on her for his usual ride. Tsuki walked over and rubbed against his trainers leg as Fear jumped into his arms and took her place on his shoulder. She seemed nice small, he doubted he would evolve her. Then Argos stood in the distance, looking at the entrance to Route 3. His teeth had a darkish aura as he chomped at the air in front of him. Chael figured his bloodlust was gone with the move Rage. In place was Bite. He passed the gator as Argos soon followed with the hoard of team members in pursuit. Chael headed on now at the entrance to the desired route. He need only catch a Pokemon here then be done. He had only two Pokeballs left. The leader HAD to be here by the end of the day. Necessity declared it. And thus he entered route 3. To: A forced adventure of the unknown. Nolan had waited patiently for Chael to go on, but as the silence that night dragged on, he cautiously leaned over and saw that the other trainer had fallen asleep. Actually, Nolan was dead tired and sore from walking and swimming all day, but it was going to be harder for him to just drop off like that. The best he had for a blanket was his long coat and his messenger bag for a pillow. It was better than nothing. Pushing some sand out of the way, he curled up on the beach with his coat draped over his body. Staring into the orange embers of the fire, he lay awake for a long time, just thinking until he finally took off his glasses and closed his eyes. Nolan was the last one of the trio of trainers to wake up. When the morning's sun found him, his head was burrowed under his coat, and his Shinx had curled up under his arm. Snivy was peacefully sleeping on her back, laid out over the human's leg, and Nincada's antennae were waving out from the sand underneath Nolan, keeping watch. But with the sound of the Blitzle's cry, Nolan woke up with a start, sitting bolt upright. Snivy slid off with a yelp, and Shinx mewled in complaint, rolling over to his back and thrashing his small paws in the air. It took a whole minute for Nolan to figure out where he was - uncomfortable, body aching, sand in places he'd rather not mention, and his skin felt paper dry and sun-burnt. He had a foul taste in his mouth and his stomach was cramped up with hunger pains. It wasn't the best of mornings. As Nincada was shaking the sand from his carapace, Nolan groped for his glasses, and putting them on his ears he just caught sight as Chael and his team were making their way along the route's path. Groaning miserably, Nolan cleaned the lenses of his glasses, and rubbed his palms against his eyes. But nothing he could do could really lift the groggy feeling that had settled in his muscles and bones. Nolan's pokemon? After a quick breakfast with their trainer, they were as chipper and energy-filled as they had been yesterday, stretching and yawning, but ready to meet another day head on. Shinx was already playing in the shallow waves and Snivy was sunning herself while Nolan finished his meal. Nincada seemed uncomfortable in the bright sunlight, so Nolan recalled the bug into his pokeball, saying, "Sorry, Nincada. Once we find some good shade, you can relax there." Nolan shrugged his coat back on his shoulders, called for Shinx, and they all started back towards Route 1 and then to Blyse City. Alex and three out of his four pokemon decided to look over at the gym before it got dark which looked like it would happen soon. He had yet to puck up a tent, but he had a sleeping bag and a few changes of clothes along with some food in the bag on his back so he was somewhat prepared. He would probably get more stuff later. but for now look at the gym. Alex and his pokemon walked over to the gym and looked inside. He didn't go inside because he didn't want to look like he was challenging the person yet but inside it seemed like there was lots of stuff that were inspired by flying pokemon. That and a sign that said that it was a flying gym told Alex that he would have to fight birds.
He looked at his pokemon. Lin had Water Gun according to the pokedex, and the Spearow could fly, but Jenkins and Duskie would probably have a harder time against birds cause they couldn't fly and didn't have a move that could cover a distance. Alex realized that he would need to train the pokemon some more so that they were faster and could have a better chance at catching the birds, or they got an attack that could span a distance like Water Gun, or even Quick Attack so they could get the bird when it was close to the ground. Alex had seen his dad's Arcanine fight flying types using only physical attacks so he knew it was possible, but he wasn't sure if his pokemon could do it right now. 'Eh, sleep first worry about that tomorrow,' he thought as he headed back towards the pokecenter.
Well. It wasn't as crowded as he thought it would be. Either there weren't that many people starting out, they were all camping out on one of the routes, or they were paying for a hotel or something somewhere in the town as it was only him and what seemed to be two other people in there and one of them looked like they were working the night shift as they were behind the counter, but they didn't look like the regular nurse. There was still a Chansey there and it seemed normal so it probably wasn't someone bad. Alex just went over to a bench pulled his sleeping bag out and nodded of rather quickly.

Yet ... Nolan wanted a better plan. Running back to Blyse with his tail between his legs would be missing out on a great opportunity. He had come very far already. He remembered what Graham had said to him. After such a rough night, the importance of being prepared was driven deeply into his consciousness. Two of his pokemon had a considerable weakness to the Flying type. That really meant he'd only have two to fight, one being a Magikarp. And Nolan doubted the gym leader only had one or two pokemon. It was still early in the day, so as long as he started back with well enough time to make it to Blyse, everything would be fine. He'd walk slower and search for pokemon. His clothes were still itchy and uncomfortable, making the walk miserable, but that was all forgotten as a strange bunch of pokemon quite literally floated across the path. Nolan stopped so suddenly, Shinx ran into the back of his heel, but now all three were looking at the serenely passing pink and green grass pokemon. Nolan checked his pokedex. 'Hoppip, what a silly pokemon, but it was a flying type. It could be good practice?'"Any of you want to battle?" Several of the Hoppip cried down at him, tickled to see a trainer challenging them to a battle. Most just continued to float on in the breeze, but two came lightly down to the ground - one the normal pink and the other was all green. 'That's odd. Maybe it's unripe?' But that wasn't the most important thing on Nolan's mind, because he didn't really understand the curiosity of shiny pokemon. "Alright, two on two? Err ... could you help me out, so my pokemon can learn to fight flying types?" It may have been a tad odd talking to wild pokemon in this matter, but for Nolan it was second nature - he always expected the best out of pokemon, and respected their intelligence and feelings. His parents had taught him that even as a very young child. These two were no exception, and after the human gestured in an upwards swooping motion, urging them to fly upwards, they let go of the ground to take a higher position. "Ready?" Snivy stepped up, and after a moment of confusion, so did Shinx so that both pokemon were side by side. Nolan took a deep breath, unsure of himself, but if he was to prove he wouldn't make a total fool of himself for his first gym battle, he had to do his best. A little shaky, he said, "Okay, go you two. You gotta knock the Hoppips out of the air." Nolan just didn't know exactly what he was in for. How was he supposed to know that at such low levels Hoppip are all but useless at battling? They wouldn't even attack back, and the worst damage that happened to his pokemon was when one of them jumped, missed, and hit something. Shaking his head slowly, Nolan didn't even bother with participating in the battle anymore - if it could be called a battle. The Hoppip just flapped about and whenever one was getting a little tired, it would heal itself by turning its leaves towards the sun - Synthesis. But Snivy did something new. Using her tail she whipped the Hoppip's around. So it seemed this battle wasn't entirely for nothing. It was just that his pokemon were getting tired right along with the Hoppip, so Nolan had to finally call it. "Let's just call it a draw right now. ... You two should go catch up with your group." Snivy didn't like that at all, she wanted to win the fight, but honestly, she couldn't really even give it her all. It felt silly batting those cottonballs around in the air. And so, with Nolan waving goodbye to the two Hoppip, they continued on Route 2 towards Route 1. SNIVY LV.7 MAGIKARP LV.7 SHINX LV.4 NINCADA LV.5 #ooo25 LOCATION || Route 2.

(( Determining rarity, coloration, and ability. )) As much as he didn't like it, Nolan knew that he would have to find more flying types to train his team, and this time, a kind of pokemon that could actually fight back. He just wished he had a flying type of his own that could help out instead of trying to find and relying on wild pokemon. But as he walked back onto Route 1 and farther from the much sandier shores of Route 2, the trainer was eyeing the trees. There were many more bird pokemon here, because they were obvious to see flying overhead and chirping from the trees. And still, Nolan wanted to try a non-violent approach to training. After finding a good sized tree, he let all four of his pokemon out of their balls, and then proceeded to start climbing the trunk. Leaving his bag by the roots, Nolan grabbed the lowest hanging branch to pull himself up higher, his shoes scraping against the rough bark. Snivy, Shinx, Nincada, and his Magikarp were all watching, wondering what the human was up to. Nolan scooted to a good sized tree limb, straddling it, and he looked down at the four. "Let's start with some tests to see how great all your accuracy and jumping is. Shinx, how about some electricity when you can?" The lion cub nodded, and Nolan broke off a branch of the tree to use as a target. And it was just Nolan's luck that all the sounds disturbed a bird from its nesting spot. The dark blue bird pokemon zipped down at his head, pecking in anger. Nolan had wanted a flying type to help him out, but this was certainly not helping. He either had the choice of holding onto the tree or fending off the tiny angry bird. Snivy rolled her eyes, and Shinx started to yip and growl at them up in the tree. Nincada though, was the best climber of all of them, using his spiny feet to cling to the tree's bark, climbing up to help Nolan. The Taillow just turned its rage on the bug instead, pecking over and over, until Nincada let go and fell back to the ground, dazed. But it was all the time Nolan needed. He slid to the sides, gripping the branch with his hands, and dangling down, it wasn't far at all to the ground. But the tiny bird didn't seem to be finished there. And frankly Nolan didn't know what to do about the pokemon darting back and forth overhead and swooping down at them. It was faster than he first thought bird pokemon could be, his only real experience with Pidgey at home. SNIVY LV.7 MAGIKARP LV.7 SHINX LV.4 NINCADA LV.5 #ooo26 LOCATION || Route 1.
