Ontological Empiricism Why do you think some people push for abstinence-only sexual education instead of real sexual education? Is it because they think that if their child learns the nitty-gritty, down-and-dirty details of sex and what it can lead to, they'll be more likely to go out and do everyone? neutral Taken from a wiki article on Abstinence-only sex education: Quote: Proponents of abstinence-only sex education argue that this approach is superior to comprehensive sex education because it emphasizes the teaching of morality that limits sex to that within the bounds of marriage, and that sex before marriage and at a young age has heavy physical and emotional costs.[4] They suggest that comprehensive sex education encourages premarital sexual activity among teenagers, which should be discouraged in an era when HIV and other incurable sexually transmitted infections are widespread and when teen pregnancy is an ongoing concern. Pretty much what you said. Sounds to me like the opposite would happen under these conditions.

Cause the school I went to, taught everything... from STD's, pregnancy, condoms, contraceptives(though, only the birth control part).... the list goes on. I think she means comprehensive sexual education.

In fact they waited until after the sex ed class, to talk about abstinence... which most was taught by my church instead of the schools. >.>

I'm curious. So bare with me. I've been reading some of the things in this thread. Masturbation and pornography have been toughed on here and there.
I want to know what people think about that. I want to know if they think that pornography or masturbation is wrong. I want to know if people think either of these are wrong b chrstianity's standards.

Wolf Ookami Woof I'm curious. So bare with me. I've been reading some of the things in this thread. Masturbation and pornography have been toughed on here and there. I want to know what people think about that. I want to know if they think that pornography or masturbation is wrong. I want to know if people think either of these are wrong b chrstianity's standards. There's different sects of Christianity and different sects will take different standards regarding these. Personally I don't see masturbation as a sin as long as it doesn't become an obsession that keeps you from loving God or your neighbor. As for pornography, I'm of the opinion it depends on your mindset and the type of porn involved. Production companies that dehumanize the actors and models should not be supported. I'm talking about the actors and models themselves, not the characters they portray. If you are familiar with acting, there's a difference between the actors and models and the characters they are portraying. As for mindset, you have to keep in mind that porn is fantasy. Most relationship interactions do not happen as a porn set up. It's like D&D, but with sex involved when you get right down to it. As with masturbation, does your porn usage or support prevent you from loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself? Can you remember that the actor and model is an actual person portraying a fantasy at the end of the film? Does it hinder your relationships with others? Answers to those question are personal and are on a case by case basis, but it can help you determine if it's hindering your relationship with God or not.

Sometimes when I look at hentai, it feels wrong. Like, my pastor asked me what Jesus would do and he said that he can't imagine Jesus looking at porn. But I can't imagine him having sex either.

Sometimes when I look at hentai, it feels wrong. Like, my pastor asked me what Jesus would do and he said that he can't imagine Jesus looking at porn. But I can't imagine him having sex either. Personally I think we'd be better off without porn, not because of sexual fantasies but because of the fact that encourages objectification and creates an unrealistic standard of what beauty and healthy sexual relationships are like. Do I see porn going away anytime soon? No because as long as people have sexual fantasies that aren't going to be fulfilled, there will be a market for it. If we hold that Jesus was fully man and fully God, then as a man he probably did deal with the same hormone stuff like most young boys do. The stories and narratives of his life speak nothing at all of his sex life since it really wasn't all that important. What was important was serving God and taking care of those that people of his day believed that God/the Gods abandoned. Showing that that God isn't only with the successful/wealthy in life. As for what Jesus would do concerning porn, I honestly don't know. Now this is just speculating, assuming that he was fully man, he probably did have urges at one point in his early pre-minstery life and he eventually grew out of it. It didn't give him personal fulfillment and it's kinda hard to be thinking about sex if you are living in poverty and being concerned about others and their well-being. If your porn usage is honestly distressing you, then stop it. Delete all the porn you have saved on your computer and don't go looking it up again. Find a hobby or some volunteer work to keep self busy and thinking about others so you don't have time to think about porn. If you are still think about porn and having sexual fantasies after all that, pray for forgiveness and forgive yourself. You are a young person. Such thoughts will happen from time to time. God understands that you are human and you will fail from time to time. I don't think God would want you hating yourself over something that aren't able to control and you've done everything you can to keep in check.

rmcdra Why are certain sexual positions genderized? Why is a**l sex considered unmanly? Why do some consider masturbation to be unfeminine (I've heard this from some girls believe it or not)? Why does the type of sex one likes put one's gender and sexual preference into question? I'll be frank I see myself as a heterosexual male. One of the sexual positions I do enjoy is being on the receiving end of a**l sex. I don't feel unmasculine or "less" hetero because of it but yet there seems to be this pressure that because I like this sexual position, I am somehow less manly or that I'm "in the closet" because of this. Granted there are attractive males out there, I'm just not sexually turned on by the male form. I guess this is more of a rant I wanted to get out more than anything. Male a**l stimulation is not something that should be seen as un-manly. The a**s has a lot of pleasure receptors that many man are neglecting to explore because of the myth that it is un-manly. The sphincter has pleasure centers and then there is also the prostate which is a rather large pleasure center when stimulated. Activating the a**l pleasure receptors and those of the p***s at the same time can really increase the level of male sexual satisfaction.

rmcdra you know he had me thinking about something. Does p***s size matter in a male homosexual relationship? I don't think it does but I honestly don't know. Would anyone with more information be willing to enlighten me about this? As a gay man I would have to say that p***s size does have some relevance when it comes to sex. A p***s between 5-8 inches in length and 4-5 around is ideal for stimulating the a**l receptors properly. Big is cool to look at but it really can hurt and cause a lot of damage. Small or thin is some what unfortunate because small and thin doesn't hit the pleasure receptors very well. But if you love the person these obstacles can be overcome.

I want to know if people think either of these are wrong b chrstianity's standards. Some ministers preach on and on about how God killed Onan for spilling his seed upon the ground and how due to that and the body being a temple, then masturbation is wrong. Taking the story out of context matters little. Some are a little smarter and use the, "if you look at another woman than you have already lusted" phrase. I don't agree that looking at another person and mentally judging them to be cute or not is lustful, but I guess some people look at women and think some very lustful, probably illegal things.

I totally agree with you, jaden... Christians really take both scriptures out of context.
Onan was an a**, and refused to do his duty... He wasn't even masturbating. He was being spiteful to his sister-in-law and the memory of his dead brother, by refusing to provide his brother with an heir... The sin that the Bible has refereed to in this passage was never about sex.
Lusting should be equated with longing... Just judging someone attractive doesn't qualify you as have committed adultery... Heck, I think Shaun Connery is pretty attractive, but I would never wish to fornicate with him. LOL
Both of these situations have been contextually abused so long that it has become a tradition to do so...
