((Aw, I like Scotland better, in my opinion.))
Rore nodded satisfactorily to himself. "I think it's Demios's army, from the looks of it." He moved his weight from one foot to the other, suddenly becoming aware of the noise everyone was making. That would probably wake up Ellen and Maria, if they weren't already awake. "Hey, I'll see you guys in a bit," He said, starting to move off along the east way to his home on the hill. "I need to check up on Ellie and Maria."
Elistral waved at Rore's retreating back before turning back to Jake. "It sure does look like defending Salim will be much easier with his forces on our side." She broke off to look up at the brightened sky, secretly trying to figure out how many hours she had slept. "You have not heard from Strider by any chance, have you Jake?" She asked hesitantly, like she didn't want to jinx something.
The Ravagers on the ground became smaller as Crow rose up in the air faster. He wanted to get away from the gunpowder in the air and stale air from the cave systems as much as possible. From up high, he could see how much of a force Reaper had gathered. It was a sight to behold.
Fenrir let the bullet take him in the shoulder, wincing at the pain and biting his lip so he wouldn't cry out. He shifted his cape to cover the wound though it was already healing, and walked over to where Reaper was sitting. For a while, he stood there before he spoke in a Scottish accent, "Yer smart, aye laddie? How would ye move that much firepower o'er the land withoot catchin' someone's unwanted eye? Ah did ye a favor." He crouched down next to Reaper and draped a friendly arm over his shoulders, talking lower now. "Now, dinnae be a daft idjit. But if'n ye've taken a looksee at the blueprints Ah gave ye, ye'd notice the location of the town an' where it stands upon, includin' th' old Ravager bases' tunnels..." He removed his arm and handed Reaper back his discharged bullet before standing, stuffing his hands in his pockets, and speaking normally. "And I'm not having Strider think I told a lie to him, either."

"Kay, we'll meet ya at the Command center." Jake looked at Elistral and frowned. "Afraid not. No letters, no messengers, not even a telepathic message. Nothing." Jake looked at the sun seeing that it had started to grow closer to the ground. "Suns setting. We should head over to the barracks and see what Demios has to tell us." Jake began to move towards the building that was the barracks, it had a large spire that connected to the outer wall which served as the war room for such occasions.
"The tunnels are unessential to my plans. With over 5,000 dark elves, 4,000 dragons, and 1,000 miscellaneous Ravagers the way we attack doesn't matter as long as we can keep the pressure. As for the powder I was going to take the powder to a closer location using George to teleport it. Then place it at strategic points throughout the town and blow them decimating the inhabitants and confusing the combatants." Reapers strategic plans were sound but had flaws, as any plan usually does. "Though perhaps some dark elves can use them for their shock trooper attack squads. Hmmm..." Then Reaper was deep in thought.

Elistral frowned in concentration, her blue eyes troubled. "I see." Still thinking, she walked behind Jake but not really seeing the surroundings around her. Finding the elves that had been lost for centuries or so would of course take a bit of time. Then convincing them to help would be an even bigger task. But, still it worried her.
"But that would chew up your main forces..." Fenrir tapped his chin for a moment with one finger, muttering strategically. "Hm. Ah, you'll do fine, Reaps. I like to picture a stone on top of a powder keg though, myself. You have fun then." He stepped quietly away from the thinking android, keeping his own preferred battle plans to himself, and stared up at the darkening clouds. "I wonder if tonight'll be a waxing gibbous or not..."
Gorash, having reequipped himself, happened to see Fenrir stop and look upwards. He approached him slowly, unsure of what he was seeing. "...Vladimir? Vladimir Ender?"
Fenrir blinked and shook his hair from his eyes, noticing Gorash there. "Hey, long time no see Uefire." He smiled friendly at the knight. "I sure hope it isn't though."
"What are you talking about?" Gorash asked, following the other man's continued gaze back up to the sky.
"Just a phase. And there's something that I smell in the wind, too. I'm not sure what it means, but I really hope it's not..." Fenrir trailed off, his yellow eyes going distant though now they would strike people as lonely and sorrowful. "Uh, nothing. I'm just rambling off again. I tend to do that" He grinned good-naturedly at Gorash, the expression gone and his pointed canines glinting. "I'll be seeing you later."
Gorash looked back down and saw that he had disappeared again. He bit his lip uncertainly, confused and questions whirring around in his mind like feathers in a thermal. "What an odd person..." His other side muttered aloud in a different tone, unknowingly gaining control. Gorash walked off from the spot to begin organizing the troops into different groups and squadrons, calling out orders to the Ravagers.

"I'm worried about him too Elistral. But this is Strider we're talking about. When has he ever let us down?" Jake looked at Elistral and smiled. Jake walked up the stairs that led up to the war room.
Silvia walked with them thinking to herself, wondering where he was. She had waited for over 100 years for him to save her, she didn't feel like waiting again.
Demios was talking with his trusted war advisers when Jake opened the door. "Ah, hello my friends. I see everyone but Rore and Strider where might they be?"
"Well Rore is away to talk with his family and Strider...no word, no messages, nothing." Jake looked around the room at all the dragons.
One of Demios' advisers stood up. "Then we shouldn't expect him to come, I have heard that he left to find the legendary lost elf empire, and therefore he shall not return. He is only human anyway."
"Only human? One who calls Strider only human obviously does not know who he is." Jake looked at Demios. "Have you told them the truth?"
"Well no but I see..." Demios was about to explain.
"Tell them! They deserve to know why we're waiting for him." Jake crossed his arms as the advisers in the room murmured about how so rude Jake was.
"Very well." Demios stood up. "Strider is not as plain as I left you to believe. Since we have more important issues to cover I shall be blunt." Demios looked at his advisers. "He is a god. A god in human form. One of the gods who created the universe." All of Demios' men looked at each other and began to laugh. "It is true! I have this man, for man he is, cast spells that would kill a normal mage of any race, I have seen him take wounds that would kill a normal warrior of any race, and I have known him long enough to say that I know his mind. He is very old, very wise, and very powerful and it is my belief, along with several of my comrades, that without him we would have been lost before we even started."
"'I shall walk into any unknown, I shall tread into any battle, and I will be there for you at any time. You are mine and I am yours, we are brothers of the same planet. If one is to not adore their neighbor like family then one has lost their sense of what it means to be alive. For it is not in ones glory that one is great. It is in ones heart. For no one man can say that their glory was what brought them through their hardships. For this reason, only for ones heart and courage shall they be remembered. For that is what it means to be a hero.' This is what Strider told me before we rode into battle during the elven wars. Now you may say he shall not come but he will! Now onto our situation." Jake looked at Demios.
"Yes well, from our current estimate Reaper outnumbers us 2-1. From what the scouts have said Reaper has about 10,000 strong and willing fighters. With my empire in turmoil I can't pull any more troops for our cause which leaves us with about 3,000 dragons on top of the about 2,000 able body humans around the area." Demios looked Elistral and Jake. "We're out gunned and out matched. What we can do is retreat to a more defensible position and hold out there.
Once the army was formed into ranks Reaper stood infront of them. "My brother and sisters of darkness. I have gathered you here today to begin a reckoning for all times. I have brought you here to destroy, demolish, and engulf the world in a final end. It is time to tell the world that we shall no longer be kept in check by higher powers. We are the shadow of the world and we are tired of being on the bottom. We deserve power, freedom, and deliverance from the light. Now let us march into the center of their unity, let us march straight to the heart of our enemy and teach them that we shall no longer be at the bottom, let us march to our salvation!" The army roared with cheers. "Forward to victory!" George directed the shadow dragons, Oni directed the shadow engulfed dark elves, Marie led the ice dragons, and Reaper walked in front of the entire army.

((Lol, LotR is on TNT right now. XD))
Rore nudged the door of his home open with his shoulder, maneuvering slowly with bulky bags he'd picked up at the store. He used his back to close it to keep the cooling air out but then immediately opened it again, feeling like the inside of the house was burning hot. "I'm sorry, Rore. I just felt like I was freezing cold in here..." He sighed and placed the bags on the table, moving to join his wife in putting out the crackling fire. "Ellie, your face is...haha, covered in flour." Ellen turned a light pink color and looked away. "I-I tried to make dinner, but the bag slipped from my hands..." Rore finished putting the fire out and leaned back on the heels of his feet. "No, no, it's fine. I picked up some food anyway." He stood up and helped her to her feet slowly, then to a chair. "Didn't the doctor tell you that you need to rest? If you're cold then use the heavy quilts." Kneeling by the armrest, his concerned eyes searched his wife's face while she broke into a coughing fit. "Don't push yourself, Ellie. You make me and Maria worry." Rore held Ellen close to him while she fell asleep again. I'm sorry, Jake. I'll meet up with you tomorrow...
Elistral thought deeply. The odds didn't seem in their favor, at all. But they had to try, at least to some extent. "Everyone who is not able to fight will have to retreat," she said, tapping a foot absently while she spoke. "Reaper is most likely to want to kill everyone here, for whatever reason he has in his mind. But if we can occupy them for the tiniest bit of time until Strider, my father,--" At this she looked pointedly at the men who'd laughed, her blue eyes blazing. "--Is able to come with reinforcements, then it will not be in vain. Losing Salim twice in such a short time of years in something I'll not stand for."
"Great speeches everyone." Fenrir said in the short silence after, standing by the doorway out of sight. "I like yours the best though, Jake."
"You again." Elistral said, albeit confused. "Where have you been?"
"Not important." Fenrir replied with a tired smile. "But what is important is that I have a suggestion that might be able to help you. Even if it's a tiny bit, like you said. And it will bolster your forces considerably for a while." He looked to Demios, giving a polite nod to him. "If you're willing to hear it, that is."
Looking at the massive army, the flying dragons and the dark elves that had come to fight for Reaper, Gorash had to give a frightened shudder. Inside his head, his other side laughed so loud that he could almost hear the cheers from the forces. The words of his king who'd sent him to serve under Reaper came to him then. Yes, it is cliche. But...you shall be my Black Knight. Dark, unholy, and unbeatable. Striking my enemies with utter terror before cutting them down like a farmer and wheat. Because of that, I have made you more than a human. As high as a god but as dark as an abyss. You shall serve me. And one day, you'll thank me for what has happened and will happen to you.. "Damn you, Garreth." Gorash muttered under his breath, his grip tightening so that his gloved hands screeched in protest.

"I do try. Nice to have you with us Fenrir." Jake sat down. His speech was over.
"Well of course, if it helps go right ahead." Demios sat back down to give Fenrir the floor.
George was walking close to Gorash. "Do not be scared Gorash. These beings do not fight because they fear Reaper, they do so out of respect for Reaper."

Fenrir glanced at Elistral, who shrugged and nodded at the same time. He walked over to the table in the center of the room, his hands in his pockets. "I am in possession of something called a keystone. Generally a keystone in what holds an arch up in the center instead of falling. The same could be called of this." He took out a triangular shaped stone and placed it down, power radiating out from it. "You have about what, 5,000 in all here? And Reaper has about 10,000, like you clarified earlier. This keystone is able to raise a doorway up from the ground, with the command spell. Around 1,500 to 2,000 of the most elite warriors I know, and that's saying a lot, will come forth from a very good friend of mine. Tomorrow, a full day from now, a group of golden haired people will come as well, one holding the command word. The warriors all will serve you until Strider gets done with his task. When they arrive, just tell them that Vlad received orders from their master to help you guys out until then." Fenrir stopped his speaking and took a deep breath, leaning on an arm on the tabletop and holding his chest from a pain that was not loss of breath. He winked and gave a smile at Demios. "Does that help?"
Gorash allowed an ironic chuckle escape from his mouth, harsher than he intended. "I wish I was like them. Doing it because they want to." He look down and to the side, frowning at the grass trampled ground. "What's it like, George? To do deeds like this out of your own volition?"

"Yes it does. Thank you, Fenrir." Demios nodded in Fenrir's direction. "Now we should be able to defend ourselves and wait for Strider."
"Good now all we can do is wait." Jake looked around the room.
"It feels like I know my own path and I see which direction I'm heading in." George looks at the direction of the army.

"No problem, it's my job." Fenrir inclined his head to Demios. "Oh, do you know where I can get something to eat? I'm, um, kinda hungry, heh heh."
"Waiting is not an option for me, Jake." Elistral said, heading in the direction of the door leading out of the room. She'd always been someone who couldn't stand waiting for something to happen when there were things to do. "I am going to go gather the townspeople to take refuge somewhere else. For them, staying here is suicide."
Gorash nodded, a forlorn expression on his face. "Must be nice to know."

"Go down two floors and you'll find the mess hall. Though if you feel like something really good go to the baker and get some bread, then go to the butcher and get some meat, and then meet me outside the city." Jake tossed some money to Fenrir.
"That would be smart, though we'll need some of the men of the town to fight. We'll need anyone that can be spared. Not all who can fight, just enough." Demios then let her exit the room. "This meeting is adjourned."
"Yeah, but what you don't know is also scary. Like, 'what would happen if I choose this or what would happen if I did this?'. Unlike you I never had any idea what I was getting myself into." George then left to catch up to his part of the army.

Elistral felt bad for knocking on the doors of the people getting ready to go to sleep. But letting innocent lives be lost was something she wasn't going to let happen. Thankfully most of them agreed and went to pack what they needed, staying to say goodbyes to the ones who were going to defend. She let the Protectors plan where to take them and the safest route there.
Fenrir caught it and nodded. "I won't take too long." Then he vanished, deciding not to walk down the stairs.
Gorash stared at George's retreating back for a while before facing forward again. "I think I'd like to not know..." He muttered quietly, his eyes going distant. Well that's you.

Reaper was at the head of the army. All of the darkness had been gathered, all the evil banded, and now he was at their fore front. "Where is the road that leads to destruction, where is the fear in the eyes of our enemies, where shall my sword strike hardest? My path lay behind me, my enemies fear is hiding away, my sword stikes hardest at the heart, at Salim." The march was long and the hours many but slowly progress was being made.
Demios was standing on a balchony alone watching the south where the attackers would come. Suddenly a guard came from behind and whispered in his ear.
"Sir, Reaper's troops have been spoted heading our direction. He hsall be here within a day." The guard bowed as Demios nodded and went back to his post.
Demios sighed. "Strider...where are you? We need you or else we shall all fall to ruin." Demios used his dragon eyes to look off in the distance and sure enough a dark cloud could be seen. "Darkness falls hardest upon those who revere the light. Hurry my friend, or else you shall come too late." Demios then turned and went back inside the tower that was the barracks.
Jake was outside th city now with a pot of hot water boiling, ready for the ingrediants Fenrir would be bringing for the soilder's last hot meal.

"How is the progress going?" Elistral asked one of the nearby Protectors she'd charged with evacuation. "Well, they're not panicking, that's a good sign." He replied, helping along one of the older Salim dwellers. "Hopefully before the fighting starts, they'll all be out of the town." Elistral nodded and thanked him, walking off briskly out through one of the gates. She'd remembered that Rore had went back to his home to check on his family. In all likelihood, he didn't know that the approaching army wasn't too far off. However, on the way up the hill, she saw him carrying Ellen in his arms and Maria trotting after him.
"I already know." Rore told her quietly as she fell in step beside him. He nodded at his sleeping wife, bundled up in a thick blanket to keep out the night's chill. "Maria came and told me."
"I'm sorry they must leave now." Elistral glanced backward at the solitary home. "But it is far too dangerous."
Rore mumbled under his breath that it was fine.
After flying for a while, Crow had inconspicuously landed on one of the flying dragons above Reaper's army, resting his wings from the hours he'd spent in the air. His bird friend perched comfortably on his shoulder
"Excuse me. Food here." Fenrir said politely to the crowds that he shuffled his way through, arms laden with a few bags of bread, meat, and though Jake hadn't said anything about them, vegetables. Sniffing the air, he found his way to the boiling pot. "I have to say, even though that's only water, it's making me hungrier by the minute." He chuckled, coming up to stand beside Jake as he shifted his burden around a little.

Demios had gone to the streets. He watched as the people walked out of the city, some crying from having to leave loved ones, and others steely faced, ready for what awaited out beyond the city. He heard a voice in his head, as if from some unseen person. "Where are the heroes, the band of saviors? Where now are the forgotten trials and hardships of those without fear? Are they gone? Or have they simply slipped into the recesses of time? Now is the time to feel their own strength. Know no fear." Demios shook out of his trance. Demios could not find the unseen voice. "Know no fear." He began to head up a watch tower at the first window. He looked at the group of citizens and soldiers walking past the gates. "Soldiers, citizens, hear me!" All of the people looked up to see Demios. "We are facing dark times my fair people. Darker then the days of Mal, darker then the beginning of all things, because we now face the end of all things. An end prepared to destroy all in it's path. Where are the heroes? Where are the saviors of old? Are they gone? Or have they just forgotten their strength? We are the heroes now. We have the strength and the power to break the tide of all evil! People of Salim and Dragon kind alike! Hear me! No longer can we rely on the strength of others. Rise and know that you are strong! Know no fear!" With that the soldiers and citizens cheered. Hope had been renewed in their hearts. "Get the people out of the city. We have preparations to make!" The soldiers yelled and hollered and the people began to move forward. Demios turned and noticed a shining white figure before him. "Who are you specter?" Demios' hand was at his sword.
"Know no fear young Demios. I have no ill will towards those whom attend to my purpose." The being seemed to be smiling. "Fate it would seem."
"I know you. You are the being known as Fate. Shaper of all outcomes. What business do you have with me?" Demios relaxed his hand but kept it at his sword, mistrusting of the being.
"Know no fear. Find that you and your companions are strong. Strider shall not make it in time to begin the battle. You and your companions must lead this fight. Know no fear Demios...and find that even without Strider...you are all strong." With that there was a flash and the being was gone.
Demios had covered his eyes when the flash happened but after uncovering them saw the being was gone. He nodded and went off to find Elistral.
Jake had smiled. "Very good my friend." Then he heard Demios' speech. "He sure does have a way with words don't he?" Jake put in the meat and vegetables.

"You could say that." Fenrir replied, tearing off a sizable chunk. He glanced around at everything around him as he chewed, and swallowed before speaking again. "What do you think of all this, Jake? You've pretty much let yourself be pulled into this whole thing, the way I see it."
