Kali takes it upon herself to get Howl back for the love letter he sent her. She dyes his hair--it goes pink. Howl rages; naturally.

Plot Pot

Read this and die--well. You'll have the fun spoiled.

-April Fool's Day is coming up soon; pick out a song for Howl for another epic plot. Maybe Friend like Me? Howl was temporarily a genie, after all. <.<
-Proposal; wedding in May?
-Kali&Lance stuff
-More spell backfiring (Howl's going to keep attempting to summon Morgan, uh-oh).
-Morgan? Depends on if Sabra gets him soon.
-Howl to dump Natty? Poor Natty...

And now a brief interruption. <.<
He ate my heart.
He ate my heart.
That boy's a monster.

<.< >.> Now that that's been said...

-Howl to start developing more of his old traits--act more heartlessly, flirt, stop caring as much when insulted, rarely get angry.
-Howl to stop taking out anger on Stasia.
-Howl to realize why he's irritable.
-Vate to take up role of adult instead of victum.
-Devin to grow!
-Howl to pick apprentices? Adam, Eve, Kali, Riina, Hunter; Morgan, definitely. He'll probably put his entire focus on Morgan once said toddler shows up.
-Howl to slime. Situation unknown, but he'll slime.
-Howl to keep promise to Kali.
-Howl to confront Darcy (she just really pisses him off).

(As promised, this solo is dedicated to Lollyxbeans and Sheliyah_chan, who inspire me endlessly to torture, torment, tease, poke at, and give characters happily ever afters. I love you both!)

Howl hadn't slept in three days. Well, he had, technically; just not the ten hour stretches he was used to and enjoyed. Maybe three or four hours each night; but that wasn't sleeping, really, was it? He needed his beauty sleep, and four hours wasn't cutting it. The teenage wizard had been having nightmares the last couple days, which might not have been so bad ( being the wicked wizard he was) if they hadn't dealt with the world he'd come from.

Ingary in flames. Cesari's--the only thing left was the sign, and even that was charred. His castle. His castle! It'd fallen apart, probably when he and Calcifer had left--but no, Sophie had implied that the castle had been fine. She had said there was a new door, and that she had gone through it. So it must have been alright... what had caused it to topple like this? No longer hovering (of course it wouldn't be, Calcifer was the one who kept it running unless it had gone wild), the shining black stones had fallen to the ground. The towers had become rubble, bits of wooden furniture showed through the rock.

And still, he could hear a baby's cry. Morgan. Faint at first, but with every hurried step the cries became louder and more frantic. A man sized, though obviously purple, winged creature stood over the castle--or what had been Howl's castle. It was really a pile of stone. A lubbock? The lubbock, really. There was only supposed to be one in existance at a time, and he had killed it. Or so he'd thought. The lubbock turned its horrible insect like face to look at Howl, with its terrible facuted purple eyes, and hissed.

"See? Your child dies."

It was almost identical to the phrase Prince Ludovic had used when he had mistaken Twinkle for Morgan. Well, Howl had had a hand in that of course. The wizard may not have seemed like the most fatherly, but when it came to his son's protection, he was willing to do just about anything. He had switched places with Morgan just in ime for the lubbockin to mistake him for his son. Naturally, the kidnapping that had happened afterward involved quite a bit of magic, running, and several punches (from Howl, no less).

It had been Sophie who had been worried. Howl had been quite confident that he could protect his son, naturally. He could have thought of ten thousand ways to keep his son safe, just off the top of his head. (He didn't know why Sophie was so worried; didn't she know by now that he knew that he wasn't someone to mess with? No one could possibly get past Sophie, Calcifer, and himself to get to Morgan). His favorite plan was one that no spell had been attached to. He had filled rooms with twenty seven rocking horses or so, give or take a few, perhaps, and had taken the liberty of both irritating his and Morgan's nursemaid (who he had been extremely suspicious of from the start, no matter how hard he tried, she wouldn't quit).

He, with the help of Morgan, had gone through not quite seven nursemaids that month they had stayed in High Norland. But this wasn't High Norland. This wasn't even Strangia; where he had suffered being a genie for weeks. This was his home; where he had met Sophie. The castle the djinns had stolen to house their kidnapped princesses. And that was his son. Casting off his cowardly ways, Howl must have used the wind to get to the lubbock, for he moved with a speed altogether unnatural.

Everything would be fine.

Just like he had promised Sophie when Morgan had first been threatened. Everything would be fine. He would save his son; again. He was within an arm length now and moved to snatch Morgan from the lubbock. Something blocked him. He couldn't get through. Lubbocks didn't have that sort of power; their eggs might have, but that was because they had the nasty tendency to absorb all magic around them. The wizard did everything he knew to do; but nothing he did affected the barrier.

This barrier reminded him of the one he'd hit when attempting to summon Morgan. Perhaps they were the same. What Witch (for surely it wasn't a witch) would support a lubbock? Lubbocks were the most evil of creatures, he was certain even a wicked wizard (such as himself) would wish to avoid one.

They really were the evilest of creatures. Just destroying lubbock eggs had almost caused him to be without a firedemon. Well, he supposed he shouldn't say just. It had been no easy task, nor had killing the creature. Calcifer would have been able to save Morgan.

It was the first time Howl had ever doubted his abilities as a wizard. He usually put on a show of it. He excelled at escaping, slithering, Sophie called it. But there was no time for that. No time for getting drunk, no time for tantruming. It wasn't the wizard himself that was in danger, he probably would have done better if it had been.

No, it was his son. Morgan. And though Sophie was usually the one who got upset over these kind of things, Howl would have found her presence comforting. She probably would have been able to talk the barrier into letting them through.

Challenge

Howl's voice is easily defined. Christian Bale. That deep, gravelly, I'm-American! voice. Just kidding. A lighter baritone, ranging from weedling to soothing. There is a barely noticable Welsh accent. Vocal range best described as musical, contrasting with the owner's claim that he had been born an unmusical Welshman. As with most people, Howl's voice changes its tone with his moods (which change just as often, with his bordering on bipolar). Currently he's having issues with his voice settling. Whatever his mood, however, Howl has the tendency to take the pleading tone. His voice raises in pitch when doing so, and often trails off into a full blown whine if he isn't given what he wants.
