"Wolfe," Luna finished. "Luna Wolfe. And this is Nathan Enlil." She waved a hand in front of Nathan's face. Her voice lowered to a mere whisper, that if one didn't actually hear her words, would sound arousing. "As you've heard, the headmaster of Mystic Fountain has gone missing. The authorities haven't done much for his disappearance, and the search will end in four days. So, we'll be receiving a replacement. Although that sounds like terrific news for the school, this man knows his whereabouts, and we need reliable reinforcements to get him back." Luna crossed her arms casually and smirked at the man. "And by reliable, we mean magical. Are you willing and capable to help us?"

"Reliable, capable, magical, and trustworthy," Nathan added quickly. "Preferably mature and responsible." He peered at Alec through his glasses, studying him intently just as the man had studied Luna. It was something Nathan was good at, studying people.

In the classroom, Danni was busy wondering why the hell she'd covered for the elf, especially when said elf seemed to like her older sister. Shaking her head, she went out the door, lifted her chin just a fraction higher when she passed by Lin. She'd jsut get through the rest of the day without doing any good deeds. That's how she'd make up for it, she thought, and was just about settled on the idea when she heard a familiarly disgusting voice speak.
"Oh, Isadora, wait a moment, would you?" Lia's high voice came out over the crowd of students leaving the room, and Danni froze, gritting her teeth and turning slowly on her heel. There were Ambrose and Lia, standing just in front of Lin, seeming to not notice the elf at the moment. "You squealed, Ophelia?" She asked carefully, her eyes dark. Why the hell did she have to use that damned name?
Choosing to ignore the jibe for the moment, Lia merely frowned, crossing her arms and aiming her younger sister a look that she'd seen numerous times before. Lia was annoyed. What else was new? "I'd appreciate it a great deal if you'd refrain from mentioning to anyone that we're siblings. After all, we're not, not anymore. You're the one who went and got yourself disowned by Mama and Papa. In fact, I'm surprised they let you keep the last name 'Rinaldi' at all. Better off taking the cook's name, if you ask me. But that's not why I stopped you, not really. Believ me, I'd avoid you completely if that were possible. This is for you. From Mama and Papa, from the holidays. Lord knows why, but they got you a Christmas present." She said, and Danni almost didn't catch the small box due to shock.
A present? From them? Confused, Danni caught the box, stared at it for a moment before sliding open the top. Tipping it upside down, she let something slip into her hand and just stared at it for a moment before she laughed once, a hard laugh that was obviously forced. "Great, thanks. That all you wanted?" Without letting anyone else see what it was, she slipped it into her cloak pocket.
When Lia said nothing, Danni turned to Ambrose, who cleared his throat and looked uncomfortable. "Um...we...that is, I...I've missed you, Izzy. The island's not home without you runnign through it." He said, his deep voice full of a painful sincerity that had her automatically taking a step back. "You're the only one, bro. Since you're teh only one in the family who hasn't tried to kill me, there's always room for one more at my dinner table. But you know that. I've gotta run. Gotta get back to my kitchens." She turned on her heel, and was halfway down the hall before Lia's voice rang out at her, confused and a little irritated.
"Dang it, Isadora, what is with you? You had it all, money, power, everything! Why did you have to give it up to use dark magic and live with some oaf and his dogs in a run down shack? You were a Rinaldi, for God's sake! Now look at you; no more inheritance, no trust fund, no future! What's going on through that thick skull of yours?!" Lia demanded, and frowned when Danni looked over her shoulder and just looked at her, her gaze probing.
"I don't need any of that to be happy. You know as well as I do that, because of what I do for a living and because of who I am, I'll probably be dead before I hit twenty. But until then...I love my life right now...Whether I'm Danni Rinaldi or Shadow Runner or someone else entirely...You never could understand that, and I feel sorry for you." Then she was gone, leaving Lia confused and Ambrose thoughtful.
When Danni reached the kitchens, her sanctuary, she leaned against the stove and pulled her little present out of her cloak pocket. Red, black, and blue, hair ribbons...What was this supposed to mean? She had no use for such things, they knew that...Reaching back, she pulled her hair together, and tied it back with her ribbons. Conjuring a mirror in front of her face, she turned, saw teh dangling pieces of silk. For just a moment, she allowed herself to smile, to play with her hair a bit and feel the ribbons. But then the first person came in for a midday meal, and she scowled, carefully tugging out the ribbons and slipping them back in her pocket. By the time she came back out carting trays of food for the lines, no one ever would've guessed that the scowling she-devil had a a soft side. For she ruled her cafeteria by fear, and everyoen knew it...

Lin saw Lia come out of the classroom and was going to try and get her attention, but she noticed that Lia needed to speak with her sister Danni. So, Lin remained quiet and waited her turn. Family always came first. She was glad to see that it seemed Lia thought so as well, even though her sister CHOSE to use dark magic. It wasn't forced upon her like it had been with Dymetri, who, deep down, seemed to struggle with it often.
Lin did not focus on what the 3 siblings were saying. It was none of her business. Family matters were private. And with her skills in meditation, Lin easily tuned out what the siblings were discussing, simply hearing a low hum of voices.
When the hum stopped, she realized it was her turn to try and get Lia's attention.
Lin placed a polite and friendly smile on her face and walked over to Lia. She nodded at Ambrose in greeting and then turned her head to Lia. "Good afternoon, Lia. I do not know if you remember me. My name is Lin Yin. I met you and your brother when your parents were visiting. You seemed to be a very intelligent and well-brought-up young lady. It is hard for me to find someone here who seems to have been raised in the same atmosphere that I was."
"I was hoping you might take a few moments to inform me on what I missed at the beginning of this class. I was going to speak with the professor, but as you can see, he is occupied right now. I would greatly appreciate your time and assistance."
Lin's arms were hanging in front of her with her hands folded in a refine, lady-like manner as she stood awaiting Lia's response.

Lia smiled at Lin, glad she didn't seem to have heard her conversation with her sister. "Of course, no problem. The professor said we can call him Alec, and he had...four rules. There's no fighting in class, no lying around Alec, no judging our classmates, and we must remember that what happens in class stays in class. After that, we all went and introduced ourselves, and we each gave him our own definition of what magic was. He doesn't believ in muc hhomework, but our main grades will come from our exams." She said, trying to recall everything the teacher had said.

Lin smiled brightly and happily at Lia, glad she was not only agreeing to help her but help her so well. Finally someone she was really connecting with in this school who she could relate to.
Her eyebrows scrunched slightly in confusion, though, when she heard the parts about leaving discussions in class and no homework. She loved discussing class topics AFTER class. Why did things have to remain in class? Unless, there was going to be something unlawful and dangerous going on that they weren't allowed to tell anyone else about. But she could simply be exaggerating at this. She would worry about it later if need be.
She was quite concerned, though, about there being no homework. "No homework? But... how exactly are we supposed to learn, how is he supposed to know if we're being challenged enough, if we understand the material or not, if we do not have homework? I mean, what if someone does not understand the material, but can only express that in the exam? Then it is too late and the poor grade is already on the records."
She needed homework! It gave her something to do, and she loved homework! Maybe she could give herself homework....

"Um...Well...If you'd like, you could probably ask Alec to give you some...extra assignments, jsut to make sure." She suggested, never knowing someone who actually craved homework.

Lin started just slightly when she heard Lia address the professor simply by his first name. "Alec? That is what he wishes to be called? Absurd! I will NOT do that. I refuse to. Do you know what his last name is, Lia?"

Lin nodded, relieved. "Oh good. Very good to know."
She then smiled again at Lia and at Ambrose. "Would you both like to work with me on some school work for the class right now? I have an hour to spend before my next class."
She stood there smiling happily, just thinking that everyone would love to work on homework and school work.

"Um...Ambrose will, won't you darling? He just loves working, you know. He's so smart. I have errands to run, though, I'm afraid. Good luck!" Just he mention of work had Lia dashing away in record time, leaving Ambrose there with Lin. "Um...so, school work, huh? Let's. uh, see it, I guess." He said, thinking it'd be rude to decline.

Night was running down the hall stopping near Alec's classroom, He had to go somewhere during the clas and had missed Danni leaving. "Dame it," He said looking at three people standing in the hall. "Hey any of you see...," he realized who he was talking frowning in grimace, "Oh it's you ... don't look at me like that elf ... It's not like I 'bite'" He Strained bite in order to annoy The elf. He dashed off figuring that Danni was in the kitchen as always.

((lol!!))
Lin frowned in confusion as Lia dashed off suddenly. What about school work? Well, if she did have other errands to run, Lin understood. Life could get very chaotic when everything started piling on top of each other and you felt you had to do everything at once. She kind of liked that feeling!
So, Lin turned and smiled at Ambrose happily and nodded. "Wonderful! I am assuming you have a textbook from the class, correct? Would it be alright if we both worked from yours until I can catch up with Professor Leaton to obtain my own textbook? We can make our own study schedule and assignments! It will be wonderful!"
She turned to walk toward the library when she saw Night, Danni's friend. She scowled darkly at the creature but didn't have to say anything since he left as quickly as he had come. "I really wish he would leave me alone. Or if he saw me, pretend that he did not."

Ambrose positively blanched at the words 'study schedule', but subtely slapped color back into his cheeks when Lia turned and saw Night. At her words, though, he frowned. "Now, why would you say that? He's my baby sister's guardian...She'd be dead a few times over if it weren't for him." He said, and nodded respectfully towards Night.

Lin sighed and shook her head as she walked with Ambrose toward the library. "He is so rude! If he does not have anything nice to say, than he should not say anything to me at all!"
