I always keep default names, it doesn't feel right using anything else since they're not my characters.

I kept there real names, I really bably did want to name Red XIII though. I mean it felt so bad for some reason giving him a test subject name, then I found he had a real name, and I was happy ....... but they still called him Red XIII! That really pissed me off! Argh! domokun
Lol! Well would you want a test subject name, and then still refered to as that evn after you real name is found? Jeez! sweatdrop

i keep their original names the first time around so i won't get confused sweatdrop
but when i replay them 3nodding i give them some other name, but with the main character, i keep their original name because it feels so wrong for me to change their anems......somehow sweatdrop

genraly im lazy so keep ther origonal names (sept aeris whom gets her origanal name of aerith) but i some times name them funy names (i called cait sith "cat sh*t)

I usually change Tifa to Slut and Aeris to Daphne (My real first name, because I like her character.... Not the pink, though). Everyone else I leave pretty much the same.

Some of the Names I named after My friends or something deal with anime..here's excample:
Cloud: Steven,Kevin or Chrono
Aeris sad I always named her after me!!)Michelle
Tifa: Wendy or Marsha
Barret:Mr T. or Daniel
Red XIII: Musket
Cat Sith: Stray(After the one FF6!)
Cid:Allie or Harrison.
Yuffie: Souickia
Vincent:Janus or Alucard..

I also called Cloud "Blade" at least one of the times that I played, but mostly I keep their names. I've changed the names more in FFIX and other games, more then FFVII... they names are just so perfect as they are!

well normally i keep the names the same except for the fav. i name as myself depending on if i feel like it or not. but realy i see no point in changing the names because it has really no point to it. but allow it to go by because some ppl like to think they themselves are actually apart of the game just giv em that little thought

Cloud = Aragorn
Barret = Pooh Bear
Tifa = Enya
Aeris = Cassidy
Cait Sith = ...I forgot...
Vincent = ...kept the same...
Yuffie = Ashley
Red XIII = Snappy

I'd change their names. Cloud= Chris, Aeris= Nancy, Tifa= Lisa, Barret= Bruce, Cid= Nick, Cait Sith= Kaine, Red XIII= Rex, Vincent= Robert, and Yuffie= Sarah.

In RPG's I usually name the main male Sage, or my current boyfriend/crush.
FFVII started the Sage thing.
Here's what I named them!
Cloud = Sage
Tifa = Lisa
Barrett = Mr. T, Bruce (He just looks it!)
Aeris = Aeris
Cid = Dan
Yuffie = Yuffie
Vincent = Vincent
Red XIII = Blaze, Nanaki (Later I named him Nanaki, his real name)
Cait Sith = Cait Sith
