So, what do you name your characters? I always name them different things every time I play, they're usually silly... I've never played and kept their actual names. It's so boring that way. They usually have themes (Types of food, filthy words, insults matching their personality, a word describing what they look like, etc...) but this time around there really isn't a theme at all...
The game I've recently started I named: Cloud = Gomez, Barret = Boobies (tee hee), Tifa = Zsa Zsa (such a silly name), Aeris = Ovaries, Red XIII = Mildred. I plan on naming Yuffie = A male body part that I dare not mention, Vincent = Gor Gor (Yeah GWAR!), Cid = Bubbe, Cait Sith = Dogbert... And that's about it.

Green Tara I always keep the default names... It's not right to give them a different name! crying Well, in my view, if I already know their names, why not? It makes the game entertaining if you give them clever names! whee But I understand where you're coming from.

The very first time I played FF7 (before I was a fan, I was only playing cuz my friend made me xd ) I named Cloud 'SSJ Gohan' cuz I thought he looked a lot like Super Saiyan Gohan from DBZ blaugh
But other than that one time, I've always given them the default names 3nodding

I generally keep their original names, except for Cloud, whom I call Blade, and Barret, who's name is Gronk! xd

Hmm... always name the lead character Matt. ((my name xp )) but I named Cait Sith, Rufus, after my cat.

I, 2, keep their default names. Though i thnk the fr the 6th time I beat FF7, I named them after everyone I knew, relating each of them by characteristics. I (was Barret), my dog was red 13, my best friend was Cloud, etc.

Rednecked Jebus Barrett, Had to be racist. surprised ****** Was that necissary? The first time I always keep their names. It takes away from the story if you mess with their names. Some of the times after that I changed their names. Other then that, however, keeping Cloud as Cloud is the way to go.

It's fun to name Cloud after an intergection like "WHOA!" "WOW!" or "GEEZ!" it makes interesting dialogue.
But Jesus is always amusing. 3nodding

my little brother and i usually had to... our older brother wanted the default names for himself.
We named them after FFVI characters. Cloud was always Locke. always.

XD The first time I played it (which was before I was smart enough to use the memory card) I had called Cloud "Chocobo-head" and I think I named Barrett "Mr. T" from the ongoing joke that a friend and I did. Tifa, I found nothing better than to call her "Katie" only cuz my friend with the same name has the same chest size, and ironically we now call Katie, Tifa.

I always keep default names, though on my second play-through of Final Fantasy VIII, I gave a few GFs some odd names.

I never changed any of the names in FFVII..but in FFVI I did. It was the first FF i played.. 3nodding
