Yudoku was lying down by a large rock, her tail swishing lazily beside her and her eyes staring straight ahead without really seeing anything. She had been up for at least half a day now, having been unable to sleep. The vixen found that she was sleeping less and less lately actually, but she didn't care. She didn't care about much of anything anymore really. Her duty was simply to hunt for the tribe when they were hungry, and that was that.
"Hey," Kin'iro greeted softly as she padded up next to her darker twin. She had long ago given up on asking her sister what had caused her drastic change in demeanor and had instead just decided to act as if nothing was wrong. She was sure Yudoku would eventually talk to her about it when she was ready. "Been up long?" Her sister merely nodded in response. "I see. Would you mind helping me collect some herbs then? Most of the plant life is dying off with the cold weather, and I would like to make sure that we don't run out."
Yudoku looked up blankly at her sister for a moment before nodding and getting up. "Lead the way."

Nato paced back and forth at the mouth of the cave his family slept in. "Where is that daughter of mine?" he muttered to himself. Mitora had offered to help him find some herbs to crush for the tribe today. Nato had noticed that Mitora had been waking up very early to 'go for walks' lately. He sighed to himself and left the cave to see if anyone had seen which way his daughter had run off.

Winter had been rather harsh this year. Food was fine, not exactly plentiful but no one was starving... But the snows made it impossible for Sieg to go see his mate.
Sighing the male moved to lay down, looking outside his cave as the others stirred. He missed Lila. It physically hurt, sometimes... Being so far away from her. He wondered, if he had made the right choice. Lunarie called to him, but the pull towards his mate right now seemed stronger.

Senka curled up under a nearby tree. She was trying to keep herself warm but wasn't having much luck. On most days she would prefer to be out exploring, she was a scout after all, however, the freezing cold made it nearly impossible to do much of anything. With a slight sigh she slowly uncurled herself and got up. Food had been scarce but she had to look and see if she could find anything for her tribe. Laying around she wasn't doing her tribe much good, and maybe if she moved around a little she would warm up.

Thea looked around from her place on the rock and wrapped her tail tighter around herself. It pained her to see her tribe like this: depressed, quieter than usual and downright sad.
With a sigh, Thea sprang off the rock and padded lightly through the snow, nodding to Sieg once before coming to a halt in front of Ari.
In the same, quiet voice she always used, she said, "Kazuki will come back, and things will get better. They always do." Thea glanced back at Sieg and frowned lightly; she knew it was bothering him to be so far from his mate. She too felt the ache of not being able to see Aara whenever she so desired, but she certainly didn't dwell on that, or complain about it. It just wasn't in her nature.
"Lunarie is resilient, as are it's members...and it's Elders," She added, her voice even quieter. "Things will be better soon." She said again, sighing. How she wished she could believe her own words of comfort.
All the kits were grown, there was no one to mother...no one but the adults, that is. It seemed like her position had gone from Carer to Personal Morale Improver, but she could've been imagining that. Everyone was so...not sad, but not happy these days, it was hard to tell.

As Kin'iro and Yudoku padded off to go find some herbs, they passed by Nato's cave. "Hello, Nato-senpai," the golden vixen greeted with a warm smile. "My sister and I were just on our way to collect some herbs. Would you like to join us?" Since he was her fellow Shaman, she thought that she might as well ask.
Yudoku glanced around idly as her sister addressed Nato. Ever since the elders had denied their blessing on her and Orion, she had been able to see less and less of her mate lately. She'd usually sneak away during the day to go see him while everyone else was asleep, but given the coming of winter's snows they had both agreed that it might be best not to travel away from the tribes too much till spring when food was plentiful. After all, they both had their duties to fulfill and traveling long distances during storms could be quite dangerous.
Her attention came back to the present when she noticed that her sister had stopped talking. She glanced over at Nato to await his reply, her face currently devoid of emotion.

Part of him appreciated the attempt. Really, he did.
But the rest could only focus on the problems. Kazuki, who now spent far more time away from the tribe, and his family, than with either. His children, who followed in the footsteps of their other father. The seasons themselves were even unkind--there was enough food now, but would that continue to be true later?
"The weather will warm later, but will that happen before food dwindles even more? Will Kazuki return? If he does, for how sort of a time will that be?
"Will our children return? And for how sort of a time will they stay?" Ari rose, and walked to the edge of the cave. "Some things will get better. But will those be enough?"
With that, he left the cave, to begin his nightly duties. There was only so long he could wallow in selfishness. This, at least, helped distract him from the hurt of his missing family, who had abandoned him.

Nato nodded in respect to the two sisters. "Hello Kin'iro, Yudoku." It was nice to see someone in the tribe still smiling. "I was actually just about to leave to go collect some as well. I was waiting for Mitora..." He looked off towards the snow cover trees. "But she seems to be running off somewhere before I get up and tonight she's decided to stay out rather late." Rolling his eyes somewhat at the thought of his daughter running off, Nato turned back to the sisters. "It would be a pleasure to join you."

Kin'iro smiled and nodded. "We're glad to have you company. Shall we start our search then?" The tribe seemed so divided and forlorn these days- nothing like the night she and her sister first joined. Then again, they had come during a party, and since they were kits it was highly possible that their memories were just a bit skewed. Even so, Kin'iro usually did her best to cheer other up when she was able.

Thea watched her elder go, biting her lip and shaking her head because she knew that no words she had could help him. He either needed a stern talking-to to get his mind away from the darkness, or he just needed to wallow for a little while.
Sighing, Thea curled up in the place where he'd previously been standing, burying her nose in her paws. What was she supposed to do? She was just a Carer, not his mate or his child or Mood Goddess to bring food. How could she possibly help him?
Grumbling at herself, Thea stood. She could try -possibly try and fail, but still, she had to try- to knock some sense into him. Setting her jaw and gathering her courage, the normally-complacent fox stalked out of the cave and caught up to Ari.
"Ari, may I speak to you for a few moments?" She asked politely; that alone, combined with the unnatural evenness in her voice should've been enough to alert Ari that she was serious.
Reminding herself that he needed this, that the whole tribe needed this, she swished her tail behind her, her jaw still locked.

She glared at the red berries hanging from the miniature tree, it's glossy green leaves seeming to stand out against the pale trunk. 'Holly Berries, disgusting!', she thought, snorting and frowning. The vixen turned and walked away from the tree and its siblings, shaking her head. 'Definitely uneatable! Those berries will make even the most hardened fox feel a little nauseous!', she thought, furrowing her brow at the thought of the revolting berries. She had always wondered why it was that the birds could eat them, but foxes could not.
The powdery snow crunched under her white paws, her white yet gold, salmon, and orange flaming fur glittering. A shimmer of something caught her eye, and she turned to look at it. An icicle hung from a tree's branches, glistening in the pale moonlight. Cocking her head, the vixen strayed from her path to have a closer look. She was slightly childish in that way, but had grown out of most of that attitude when she had met Thea.
Thea..... Aaraendorlia's heart throbbed painfully at the name and she stopped approaching the glittering icicle. How long had it been since she had seen the paint-splattered vixen? Too long, in her opinion, but since when had anyone listened to her? Well, Thea did, but they usually agreed on many things like that. 'I wonder how she's doing?' she thought to herself, looking up at the moon and closing her eyes.
A breeze blew through, sending with it a few scents of foxes nearby. 'Well, I am a little lost right now, silly snow covering everything up! Perhaps they could help me find my way back?', she wondered as she started the other foxes' way. Which, as it happened, was past the very icicle she had been heading toward. Looking up as she went under it, she smiled and thought ‘Wish me luck, little buddy!’.
She came upon three foxes, two female and one male, standing near a cave, and stopped. The two females seemed related, perhaps twins. The male was grayish and covered in many modifications. "Excuse me! I'm sorry to be bothering you this late in the night, but I didn't suppose you would know where-", she paused, blinking a few times in surprise.
On all of the foxes was a tattoo, a dragon and a crescent moon. Thea had once described the marking to her as the official Lunarie Tribe modification. 'To see on these foxes would mean that I'm-', she halted that train of thought, her eyes widening in surprise. She quickly looked up at the moon, in all its glory. She blinked a few times, slowly turning her attention back to the other foxes. And at the moment, she knew that she had somehow managed to wander into the Lunarie Tribe lands, with out even noticing.(Anrea gave me permission to shove her here, so here she is!)

"Lead the way." Nato nodded to Kin'iro and gave a slight smile.
Nato was making a mental list of what to look for while they were out when he caught and unfamiliar scent followed by an unfamiliar voice. He turned and looked at the surprised and speechless vixen.
"This night is not late at all for us. Welcome to the lands of the Lunarie Tribe." The dark male bowed to the new flaming vixen before continuing. "We mean you no harm. Are you lost? Or have you been looking for us and realized you've found us?"

Aara blinked rapidly when the modified gray male spoke to her so kindly, shaking her head to rid herself of what was left of her embarrassing speechless stupor.
She had been search for weeks on end to try and find her way here, as her search for her beloved paint-splattered vixen had become more and more futile, she began to search in wider areas, taking more time away from her family. She was currently on her second day away from her younger sister Starrla, and her expanded family’s home, nicknamed ‘The Home Tree’ by her niece Faye.
Not that she hadn't been gone longer, a full seven days in the southern lands, but she was being to think that the lands purposely eluded her. That is, until tonight. "Ummmm... You could say that I'm both lost and in search, and what I've been searching for has at last been found.", she stated, giving the male and two females a warm smile in greeting. She often twisted her words into riddles and poems, mostly a habit picked up to entertain her older sister while they had trod down from their home land, an icy cold ferocious place called The Far North.

Nato gave an understanding to the vixen. He figured she must be looking for someone within the tribe, seeing as how so many members were making friends and mates outside of it. He also figured he should take her to see Ari.
Though Ari was a great elder, Nato couldn't help but sigh at the thought of him. He looked at the sisters and how Yudoku had somewhat come to back to life. Maybe one of the sisters could take the new vixen to deal with Ari.
