I don't know if this is at all possible.....but for the Holiday months could we have a secret Santa. Or a fun little gift exchange? I think its a fun way to get people to post! Not meaning that disrespectfully!

SuperKoolPartyGal101 I don't know if this is at all possible.....but for the Holiday months could we have a secret Santa. Or a fun little gift exchange? I think its a fun way to get people to post! Not meaning that disrespectfully! Hmm....that has possibilities! Would you think of some ways that could be done and PM me? That's right about the time we will be awarding the House Cup so I'm looking for good Holiday ideas!

I know how everyone says to delete un active memebers. How about, if you can, send a Pm to everybody telling them new rules. At this other guild I have been to, you must post three times a month to stay active. It might make the guild more active with those guidelines but I don't know. Hope I can help. =]

Mmmh.. How about we find some ways to help paraphernalia_101 through her difficult time? Some gifts, support and a few generous donations?
Perhaps some in the US can even do other things to help her in real life, not only on Gaia? After all, loosing your house to a fire must be really hard on her.

Kitsune no Zetsumei Mmmh.. How about we find some ways to help paraphernalia_101 through her difficult time? Some gifts, support and a few generous donations? Perhaps some in the US can even do other things to help her in real life, not only on Gaia? After all, losing your house to a fire must be really hard on her. Thanks so much for that, Kitsune! Folks not in Ravenclaw may not know Para lost her home and all possessions to the San Diego fire. This once, I am making an exception and I invite folks from the other houses to read her post from the Ravenclaw Common room. Because of the secure nature of Gaia and ToS, real life contact information isn't available. However, I live in San Diego, my apartment and office are very close to Qualcomm stadium where the majority of people have been evacuated to, so I'm one of the safe ones and available to help. It's staggering- 250,000 have been evacuated. Almost everyone I know. Today is better, but the air quality is very difficult, ash is over everything. Orna and I have PMed Para with our Real Life contact info and offers to help if she needs it. For the rest of Haven, any gifts are limited to Gaia pixels for now, but those are great emotional uplifts and I encourage any who are so moved to donate Gaia gifts to Para. Several of you might team up and share the cost together of something expensive or rare for her. Orna and I got together yesterday and gifted her the fairy wings on her wish list. Prayers are very appropriate and welcome for all of San Diego. I thank you all for being the wonderful and caring people that you are, and making this the great community that we are! --LHH

Here, here! I was just discussing this with another Haven member.. I LOVE secret santas! There are two options - it can be inside the houses or Haven-wide.
What I was thinking was creating a thread in the Event subforum asking for all those interested in participating to post with their name and house [the key thing is to have a cut-off date to post with their names, that way there isn't any last minute members upset that they didn't get a match]. Have a reminder to update their wishlist - including some fairly affordable items (for those who might not be Gaia-rich).
After the cut-off date you can have a volunteer go through the names and match them. They will PM the person the name of their secret santa (making sure that everyone isn't matched up with the person who has their name), along with a reminder to keep the name of their giftee for later on. Maybe after Christmas we can have the members post in the thread who they were (or not) to let them know who their secret santa was.
I hope that wasn't confusing - feel free to PM me if you need me to explain more!
*also, I'm volunteering if we decide to do it. If something comes up when it gets closer to the (potential) event, I'll let you all know. smile

Just a thought I had just now..
How about a fanfiction competition? Now for Halloween, we could enter fanfics that had something to do with Halloween, hope that isn't to late.. For Christmas we could have a competition for the best Christmas fanfic, and for Valentine, a reward for the best Valentine fanfic.
And perhaps every once in a while, you could for for a fanfic that's out of such events. Such as the best Romance fanfic, the best Tragedy fanfic, the best Drama, the best Horror.. and so on. In other words, a competition for all the genres!
The authors could post their fanfic in a forum, and other's could vote for which fanfic they enjoyed the most.
I think it would be quite fun.

(I totally want to do it, but just in case some people dont, or have like no money at the time, we should have a sign up sheet for those like me who DEFINATLEY want to do it, and know financially they can)

Keep those suggestions and ideas coming!
We WILL have be having a Yule Ball, the awarding of the House Cup for this term, and there is something like a Secret Santa being planned-- a Mirror of Erised Father Christmas magical Gifting!
I love the idea of a holiday Fanfic contest, too!
