Wow...what have I missed? I was evacuated yesterday from my house early in the morning so I barely had time to take anything....its very stressful. The fire where I lived was so bad that it burned my housing complex to the ground....but my lane survived so at least I still have a home. I'm staying at my aunts house in riverside county for a while and I have no internet access where she lives...so don't expect me to be around for a while. I probably wont move back home until a month from now...so this is a temporary goodbye I guess. My family is fine, which is wonderful. I'm just keeping in tune with the fire that is devastating here in san diego county. From where I am, you can see the smoke and fire, all the roads to my hometown are closed....imagine more than 40 thousand people had to evacuate. Before my uncle went in town to check on our homes, I heard that my housing complex burned and it was very hard for me. I broke down at carrows during dinner...knowing that I was homeless was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Just the thought breaks my heart, and when I see the fire I get more sad and frustrated at those stupid arsonists. Well my whole point is that I won't be online for a while, I'm praying that the fires will finish up soon and I hope that everybody has a wonderful halloween. I thank all of you for your wonderful gifts, and I'm sorry to everybody that I couldn't participate, even though I really wanted to. On a lighter note, one of the first things that I thought of to evacuate with me was my whole Harry Potter collection. So thankfully I have my HP books to keep me occupied. I will try to get online whenever I can, the kmart here has an internet station. My school will open on monday, so I will probably use the internet in the library. Thanks for hearing me through my ranting. If anybody has any loved ones or is somebody who has gone through this in california and in any other state then you have my condolonces...ugh I can't spell that. So anyways good night everybody! and good luck!

Paraphernalia - Oh my goodness, I'm so glad you got out safely! *hug* I can't even understand the feeling of being homeless, so if you need to rant - come right on into this thread and rant all you want! Your housemates are here for you as much as we can be.
I'll keep you and your family in my prayers - including that the fire ends soon. Let us know if there is anything that you need (and I mean in RL), if I can help I will.

What a week! First of all thank you all for your thoughts during these horrific San Diego Firestorms. Many of my friends, colleagues and clients have lost their homes, and nearly everyone I know has been evacuated at least once, except for me. My home and office are near Qualcomm stadium, which is the main evacuation point, so I'm ok so far. I've sent a PM to paraphernalia_101 offering real life support if she needs it. and thanks to Orna who tipped me off that she posted because I'd been basically working non-stop and hadn't checked our Common room. Lightkin and I are working with a yoga wellness center to set up a center to treat PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and we're offering our services by donation instead of professional fees to everyone affected. I ask everyone to join us in asking the winds to still and moisture to rise in the air, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers! Orna, Congratulations on becoming a Prefect! Jumping from 1st to 7th... You really deserve it!
And paraphernalia_101, I would do anything I could to help you in real life but.. I'm afraid I live to far away to be any real help. But if you need anything I can help you with, just ask, and I'll try my best, okay?
I can't even begin to imagine the feeling of being homeless! It must be horrible..
And I'm sure all of us Ravenclaws will support you till the end of it. So just rely on us whenever you feel the need to!

Today is a better sweet moment for me. I have finely have a enough money to start my own Harry Potter Guild. So I well be leaving you all with the deepest sorrow in my heart, but also a grate joy because I well be able to live out my dreams.

Just read your post! Congratulations, Sarah! Gaia is large enough for many guilds, so I wish you all the best, and hope you pop in to see us and keep us updated from time to time. Also Guilds can affiliate and share events which you can consider down the road. We'll miss you, though!

I didn't realize that i had become a third year until I checked my post count...yays! Orna: totally awesome! When you graduate, stick around and become a teacher!!! paraphernalia_101: Man, I send my love! I've never had to even move, so its hard for me to imagine what you're going through, but I send all my empathy to you! I'm sure you'll get through it in the end. Hopefully someday you'll be able to look back on it as a life-building experiance. I really hope you were able to get all the things from your room that you wanted. I have so many books, I don't know how I would carry them! I'm in Oregon, so the biggest natural disaster that we're likely to have is an earthquake...right on the fault line you know. Still, its not as bad as a fire, Hell, with an earthquake things just smash around a bit, only some cleanup of damage...fire is like...wow...everything to ashes....excuse my language, but... Damn... Kitsune no Zetsumei And I'm sure all of us Ravenclaws will support you till the end of it. So just rely on us whenever you feel the need to! I ditto that!! We all got cho back!!!

Love that Ravenclaw image- Almighty olivehead, a Slytherin did a Slytherin banner and I asked her to do one for each house with that banner. It's posted in our Ravenclaw Banners, within our Common Room, but I like your version, just the "coat of arms", justified right in our threads. May I post it with our banners so we all can use it?

One thing I didn't mention in my other post...LHH, I think the PSTD yoga treatment is a really good idea, I hope it comes through. It'll help a whole lot of people.
