As she began to settle down, finding the floor to be stable and the world to be mainly calm, Danny's attention was drawn to the gathering in the far corner, where she'd been sitting when the lights went off. "... Come on, Vana, the plants will be fine," she cooed to the little girl, hefting the fern baby back into her arms. Disgruntled, Vana wiggled and whined, reaching back to where the plants had begun wilting on the counter; Danny wasn't having any of it, though. She wanted to go where the light and people were, and Vana would just have to deal with that.

Seeing the grey area, however, made her promptly reconsider whether she really wanted to be close to that. "... Oh god damn it," she breathed, keeping a few feet of extra distance between herself and the onlookers. She knew what this was; it was magic. She didn't like this magic stuff. She just didn't get it- the portal to the HQ was enough to set her nerves on edge. Something drawing the very color out of the room? That was ******** up, and she wanted no part of it.

What what?

Nicolai felt one hundred percent lost in the situation. Color and sound were dropping off of things across the area and people were getting more and more anxious, including the baby wendigo in his arms. Of course, Nicolai had felt a similar experience in... a stranger and less familiar way, but he wasn't about to go about saying the entire room was passing into the realm of the dead.

Not likely.

The grey was... inviting? He knew better, but he almost wanted to enter it. He had to think of the baby he was holding more than his own curiosity. It burned at him to do so, but it was all he could do.

Wiko himself was strangely quiet, no longer fervently gnawing at his finger. Now his bright little eyes were gazing about the place with a sort of reluctant interest, catching on Nicolai's as if to ask what was going on.

"...... Uh. Hmm."

Rouge stopped singing, brushing her now pale silver hair from her eyes. Turning she walked over to Shira and smiled. "I don't think gettting in contact with people on that side will be easy. I'd say just remain calm and you'll be fine." the space pirate was more then used to stuff like this. So of course she was also sure of what to do. Investigate the inside of the grey area further. The outside wasn't worth worrying about right then.

Inspecting the area, Rouge found that it all seemed to be normal to the touch. Save for the lack of any variances in temperature between one object or another, the grey hadn't seemed to affect anything more than having just taken the color away. As the light shone on the wall, strange shadows seemed to play on it; no distinct shapes could be made out of the discrepencies, however, and even touching the wall yielded no results. As far as Rouge could tell, the grey went straight up to the ceiling and followed up there until it was back to the perimeter, where it kept pace with the edge there. Outside the immediate edge of the grey, there were a few items whose color was beginning to fade away as well, for whatever that implied.

Rouge had just barely finished investigating the area, when....

blrp.

Lilianna, reaching her hand into the colorless area, seemed to provide just the jump start it needed. As another tremor rumbled through the floor and walls, more powerful than any other before, the grey-ness swiftly spread a good three or four feet further across the floor, promptly drawing Lilianna and any other too-near bystanders onto its area. It began to make quick work of the inanimate objects in the area; in addition, those further from the perimeter began to feel a strange sucking feeling at their energy. Nothing drastic, but just a faint and steady drawing at their spirit, as though the area were feeding off their energy.

As soon as she reached her arm into the grea area, she noticed the rapid change in the environment. She glanced down at her clothing to find them loosing their color. "What the..." she managed to say when all of a sudden she felt her body being drawn into the middle of the area. Immediately, her hawk flew off of her master's arm and towards the outside of the grey area, only to be sucked back to her master. "Looks like you are stuck with me," Lily said to Taka, who pecked at her master for doing something careless.

Rouge had now two ideas of what could be done. The discrepency in the temperature was enough to make her believe that there was at least something in this area that she couldn't quite see.

The two methods she decided that would be reasonable were to move the lightsource and attempt to locate where the shadows were coming from. The other would be to close her eyes and try to locate the source of the sounds she was hearing around the edges.

As there was now excess noise due to more people being brought into the grey, the more logical choice was to try and trace the shadows.

Moving her hand lightly, taking deep breaths so as to gain a stronger sense of calm-something that would power her light further- the woman began to follow the shadows with her eyes and move to see the changes in them.

As the other woman ducked inside the strange realm as well, another tremor shook this strange little store--and Nataki realized the grey had spread. She was inside of it! For a moment, she stood very still, quivering, listening to the strange, almost unnatural feel to the inside of this vortex. Swallowing hard, the timid Nataki took a deep breath, trying to keep herself calm. And she was--until she tried to leave and realized she was stuck. Trembling like a leaf, the frazzled blonde darted towards Rouge, all but latching on to her arm. She couldn't speak for a moment, quaking, her eyes suddenly darting to the shadows and fixing upon them. She had been so warm before--her thick coat now felt as though it offered no heat at all.

"W-What are we going to do?" Nataki managed to squeak.

Shira was on the edge of hysteria until the woman posessing the glowing orb reassured her, and then she slowly found herself calming down. Her breathing slowed as she took in that the black of her clothes faded to a light shade of grey, and her skin slowly doing the same. She felt a headache start to set. Shira lightly touched her temple, another strange feeling tugging at her heart and making her body ache slightly. She didn't make a fuss over it though, not as much as her pounding head, as it was a feeling so light she didn't even notice.

She looked up as the older woman began to examine the area once more, for what she didn't know. But everything that happened so far was so abnormal. Didn't this stuff only happen to small kids in fairytales? Shira didn't want to rule out magic and make belief, but she was still having a hard time accepting it to be true. Even with the enchanted looking children, and strange people, and her graying skin, and....and....

Okay, maybe she did believe just a little.

Shira was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the grey expanding, and others being sucked in.

Lilianna glanced around and noticed that several other people had been sucked into the grey area, too. She then noticed the woman who had entered the shop after her and she wandered over to Shira. "Do you have any idea at what just happened?" The hawk glanced at Shira curiously before stuffing her head under one wing.

Nicolai flinched at the approaching grey, quickly nauseated by the yank on his energy. It wasn't tough, or powerful, but combined with his nagging gkk he was having a hard time keeping a hold of his lunch. Familiar sensations from the more hectic times of his past made a rush flood his mind.

Entranced, and almost ignoring Wiko completely, Nicolai moved the extra few feet and joined Rouge in the grey area. The sounds muted and crackled in his mind, heightening his gkk to a sickening gnnnnk. Wiko curled into a tighter ball than as usual and shut his eyes tight.

Once inside, Nicolai glanced about, then looked to Rouge and shrugged. "Ideas?"

"Other then something not being right here no." she said. The woman was currently kneeled down and examining the shadows from a lower angle. "Right now I'm trying to figure out exactly what isn't right here-or rather, what IS right there. There are shadows and temperature inconsistancies in this area and I'm trying to see what's making them."

After a glance over at him and his child she nodded. Out of the crew that had ended up in this area he seemed the one who'd be of the most help. "Come over here. Maybe you can give me a hand."

Shira's thoughts were interrupted as she heard a choking sound. Looking towards Rouge she saw the earlier woman she had tried to stop from entering the 'dangerous gray' had seemingly begun to hyperventilate and fall to the floor. She slightly envied and felt bad for such a frazzled person.

Hearing a familar voice, Shira looked up to see Lilianna and her hawk had been sucked in as well. "I-" Shira made a face as she tasted the stale are fully this time, "ugh....I'm not sure." She waved a hand at the prediciment. "I know for a fact that once you're here, you can't leave, though." She glaced at her continuosly paling skin. "And that some type of magical force is at work....or something..." She murmered the last bit. She looked up at Lilianna. "I didn't expect all this from a simple visit to an antique shop. Did you?" Shira tried to make light of the situation, the complete opposite of her thoughts.

Ari looked at the lady who had approached her, and smiled. "Yes..." Just then the tremmor took and Art clug onto her mother for dear life as Ari saught and ran to a door way, pulling Kyo and the familuar child in her arms along with.

It was cramped, but at least they would be safe from falling and shaking items.

Through "careful foresight" (read: overcautious self-preservation), Danny was fortunate enough to have left enough room between her and the grey area so as not to be caught by the sudden expansion. Shaky on her feet after the quakes subsided, she made a hasty decision not to risk getting drawn in with the rest. Backpedaling in horror, she gawked openly as the grey took hold of more and more of the room.

The grey was now visibly spreading, fully enveloping about one-fourth of the lobby and pushing onward. It still had no effect on people other than the drain, but all inanimate objects those in the area carried were fading quickly to black-and-white.

This is insane. I don't want to be caught up in this. Very aware that Vana was getting teary-eyed, struggling to peek over her Guardian's shoulder- some of the plants on the other side of the room seemed to be drooping and fading, as scattered objects as far as the bar itself were beginning to dull. This was way, way out of control. She didn't know if this was some prank by Ianna, or something honestly dangerous, but....

Then again, what could she do? Somehow, the idea of leaving hadn't so much as crossed her mind. Horrifying as the situation might be, the thought of removing herself and her babe from it just... didn't seem realistic.
