Meshach x River Gypsy

Quote:
Finally, her odd dysfunctional family had driven even River away from her mother's side: let Water deal with Gypsy for awhile. River was going in search of her brother, Prince. The rather large soquili seemed to have a ridiculous talent of being able to disappear at will, particularly when voices were raised, and it frustrated River that he could rarely be found unless he really wanted to be. He shouldn't be that difficult for a wind soquili to find, but their father was a wind, as well ... maybe Prince already thought that one out.

The alicorn trotted casually along a riverbank, stopping here and there to sample the icy cold water and ruffle her ebony-black wings. She'd cut herself going through some thorny bushes, but fortunately had been able to immediately heal herself; that ability certainly came in handy. Now, where was her dratted sibling? The female snorts, stomping her hoof against the rocky bank in annoyance. She hadn't caught hide nor hair of him in the last few hours, and she was getting extremely the river would have been a good thing. After all he could stare at just how wonderful he looked while moving. It was just prefect.

Quote:
It was River, then, primed to see a unicorn along the bank, that spotted Meshach. But it's certainly not the unicorn she's been looking for: this one's leaner, and much darker than Prince. The river-green mare dips her head slightly, uncertain if this one is a threat; her ebony and sea-green strands of mane dip quietly against a black face streaked with white blaze, her light blue horn shining slightly in the sunlight. Odd blue eyes - like those of the blind, except this mare can see - watch Meshach's approach with curiousity and wariness. The alicorn moves forward on graceful limbs a few steps, the feathers around her hooves softly whispering past.

"Hello?" Comes the query: the mare's voice makes it a question and a greeting all in one, with a hint of steely demand behind it.

Quote:
Meshach looked up suddenly, this was the last thing he had expected that was for sure. His solitary walk seemed no longer solitary but oh well. At least he had been stopped with a rather beautiful mare. Though of course like normal these thoughts stayed happily in his head.

"Hello." He spoke softly, which was normal for him. Start sweet and kind and then slowly become more annoying. Of course it wasn't a clever way to do things but it was a way of doing things and he loved to make others feel content before annoying them to no end. Made things more fun for him at least.

"I am Meshach." He smiled and nodded his head polietly as he spoke. He could be a gentleman sometimes. "May I ask what your name is?" Oh if his sister could see him now she would love to make fun of him.

Quote:
The obvious threat fading away with his comely speech and smile, the mare relaxes, lifting her head slightly so that the tip of her horn is no longer pointing in his direction, and exposing her black chest. Pretty she may be, but an odd patchwork of colors; turqoise with scales, and patches of black on her chest and all over her face, with patches of white and black across the rest of her body. Her long limbs are white up to the knee, and she bears a simple golden medallian with black and turqoise in the center. Her mane is long, reaching down to her knees. Her lion-like tuft of a tail flicks curiously. "River Gypsy, but just call me River," she tosses back, not one to give proper manners much consideration. "Meshach ... " she muses, rolling the name around on her tongue. One brow raises, and she tilts her head to the side. "What brings you to this neck of the woods, Meshach?"

Quote:
River Gypsy, what an interesting name. He didn't mention it aloud though you never know what might offend someone and he wasn't in the mood to offend anyone at the moment.

"Freedom or escaping, which ever you wish to call it. A break from the family is probably more accurate." He let out a soft laugh. It was strange he did love his family but he knew how much he annoyed them so his breaks from the family were normally more for their benefit then his own. "What about you?"

Quote:
Her eyes glinted with humor at the response. "Hah. You aren't the only one. Bad time?" she responds, feelingly. "I'm out here for the same reason - well, partially. Looking for my brother, too. Big green-blue unicorn chap, you couldn't miss him if you passed him by ... you didn't happen to see him, did you?"

Quote:
Meshach couldn't help but chuckle. Fate must have brought them together then! How amusing.

"Not really bad time, just too many siblings!" He chuckled and listened before shaking his head.

"Nope sorry I haven't seen him. Haven't really seen anyone on my way here. You are the first one I have bumped into actually."

Quote:
"Ahhh." She nods, wryly. "Fortunately don't have that problem; I just have two of them, and they ain't that bad. My grandma and ma tend to go at each other, though. They don't much get along," she finishes, rolling her shoulders back into a bemused shrug. "Grandma wants to rule ma's life, and ma could really care less what grandma thought of her."

River looks momentarily deflated as the dark unicorn replies. "Huh, the git. He'll come around sometime, though. So you from around here?"

Quote:
He was somewhat shocked by all the information she gave him about her family, he didn't know many who would tell so much on a first meeting but if she trusted him he saw no reason not to trust her.

"Sounds bad. I wouldn't be happy if someone tried to rule my life." He then chuckled a little as she called her brother a git. It seemed all siblings were the same.

"Around here? Kind of, we live in the forest, mother loves it here and well father will live where ever mother wants to and so us five kids live here to. Good thing the forest is so big!" He chuckled a little more. "What about you?"

Quote:
"They'll live - well, if they don't kill each other first," River notes, dryly, flicking her tail again, this time in the water. A few sparkling drops of liquid catch in the sunlight. "And geez; five? No wonder you were going crazy." Fortunately, River's siblings are fairly mild-tempered compared to her, so she doesn't have much to complain about, but still ... two more would be two too many. "That's sweet of your da, though. We live here and there ... move about a lot, really, we don't tend to stay in the same place for too long. We're Gypsies," she notes sardonically. "It's not a bad life, though, you get to see a lot of the world when you move from place to place."

Quote:
Meshach nodded. "Yep five of us. I have 3 sisters and one brother. It's not the best thing in the world I mean 3 sisters can do your head in!" He laughed. He did love his sisters really.

"I would love to move around lots, I just have no reason to. If I find a reason I shall though. It gets boring staying in the same place all the time." He did like the idea of being on the move, it would beat living with the annoying family any day.

Quote:
"Hey, brothers are just as bad!" River protests with a laugh and a roll of her eyes; she was a 'sister' herself. "Of course, I only got one of them, heaven forbid he'd be multiplied by three."

The mare shakes out her mane. "Hey, boy, you don't need a reason to; just get out there and do it. You can always come back if that sort of life ain't for you, you know? You'd be amazed at all the soquili you'll meet and the places you'll see if you do; places you can't see if you're stuck settled down someplace."

Quote:
"We are no wghere near as bad as sisters though!" He laughed, he was a brother and truth be told he was worse then all of his siblings put together but he was proud of that.

"Maybe so, but travelling on your own just sounds rather boring to me. I mean sure if you are with your family at least you are travelling with someone but on your own... thats just boring." Otherwise he would have long gone by now!

Quote:
"Pah," she sniffed, haughtily. "We're not that bad. We just like to keep you lot on your hooves."

She considered this, nodding faintly; her mane quietly catches the breeze. "Well, you can't drag one of your myriad of sisters in on it? I can't expect they're all gleeful just staying home and seeing the same old things day after day."

Quote:
Meshach laughed. "I would be surprised if any of them came with me anywhere. I think I annoy them more then anything else. They would be happy to see me gone!" He laughed at the thought.

"One day I will find a reason I am sure."

Quote:
"Depends on what kind of individual you are. Like I said; you meet a lot of soquili if you wander about, and you see a lot of things that you ain't going to see staying in the same place all the time." The mare smiles faintly. "And I'm sure you will, if you want it hard enough."
