Transcended Eternal Ida

Ida took the offered hand gratefully and pulled herself to her feet.

“Come on.” She said as she kept hold of the hand and tugged Tachibana after her, dodging as she cast her magic to drive off another of the monsters. A wind began to pick up from somewhere and it seemed to push them in the same direction they were going, adding a feeling of urgency to their running across the rocky ground. More rifts flashed open, and then, there… one large one, and inside, a giant monster tearing more holes into reality.

Ida gaped at it as she slowed, her grip tightening on Tachibana’s hand. “Stay… close to me.” She managed after she shook herself out of her shock, taking up her run again. “Maybe we can jump through one of those rifts and back to the city… I don’t think we want to tangle with that beast if we don’t have to!”

Eternal Dark Mirror Kiuchi

Watching as Acubens finally reappeared, and with others, he'd been prepairing to take the lead again in an assault on the monster which had been revealed to them all. But his sister had spotted what he too had seen. "I'm with my sister on this..." He spoke, nodding his head once towards his sister, proud of her observation. "It does seem to be suffering...the lion with the thorn in it's paw..." Only this lion looked like it had a lot to deal with and was searching for something, what though he couldn't tell. "Could it be searching for help...or what hurt it so?" How it had been hurt he didn't know but the gemstone was obviously what was the cause of the suffering. He did, f or a moment, wonder what the stone did exactly...but considering how much suffering the beast seemed to be in...he didn't really wanna know any more.

"Acubens, I can handle things. I'm not a risk." He'd been hurt, yes, but he'd dealt with worse. Though when the beast let out a screech he wondered if his ears might not start to bleed - the pain was so great. It had him seeing spots and stumbling on his feet.

"Could a barrier, to keep the beast safe, help us perhaps? Keep him from moving and keep it safe till we can reach it and try and figure out what to do?" He questioned as he moved to take up the rear. "Rana, do as Acubens says. I'll be fine, I've faced worse." He knew saying those words would damn him to telling his sister things later, things which would have her worrying endlessly over him and mother henning him. He knew his little sister well, at least he thought he did, and he knew she'd worry about him even though he was standing right in front of her. It was nice to have her care for him so, he'd never had family care for him until he'd found her and the rest of his lost family.

"Rana, be brave and be strong. We'll make it out of this and I'll give you whatever you want for a day." Anything she wanted to do, buy, or whatever else.

"I think I can help..Acubens. A sheild might help." Already he was stargint move, knowing the rest of their group would be heading for the beast in order to help it, how many others had realized it was suffering and needed help - not death?

Sailor Thalia

Slashes, portals, waves of disappearances of people and things and everything was so wrong, wrong wrong, but Thalia had been running himself ragged, looking increasingly tired as each day went on -- each day that he hadn't heard from his sister, or from that Senshi he'd watched disappear into a rift, faster than he could have ever hoped to save.

But finally, finally he found a rift and wasted no time throwing himself into it, stumbling a bit as he landed in the middle of complete and utter chaos. Not chaos as in the 'bad guys', but uncontrollable, getting out of hand if it hasn't already gotten out of hand. The wind threatened to pull his hood down off of his head, clothing rustled by it as he took in the surroundings.

Monsters. People. One giant monster that seemed to be the big boss battle.

Really, why was it he was in a situation from a video game, but without any strategy guides or ways to look up the strategies online? Especially when actual lives were at stake? Oh, how he hated this, he so very hated this, hands balling up into little fists as he threw himself into the chaos.

Hold on, guys, I'm coming to get you.

He had to believe that. What else could he do, give up? Unacceptable, never ever even a hint in his mind, not when things were this important.

Shangri-La, Knight of Pluto

Sailor Rhea, Chibi Senshi of Laughter

Rhea was so happy to see her cousin and nodded quickly sticking close to the girl. He jaw dropped open though as they moved closer to her cousin's boss? The doctor?!? She was looking at a light being torn open from nothing and revealing a huge monster that batted away lightening, which proceeded to rain down around them.

"Ahhhh, Mu watch out!" The sparks singed her fuku and little holes appear in her skirt. "No .. hot, hot."

When they made it over to a tall knight with red hair and a really cool staff, Rhea felt a tiny bit better. He was bettered equipped to handle the flying monsters.

Shang was trying to move forward staff turned bottom up stabbing at the monster as flew at him. He didn't notice Mu Arae coming up to him to preoccupied with the sky that happened to flash with lightening and get slashed open by a beast.

"Thats not good," he mumbled. The wind picked up and the monster shriek, making Shang twitch a bit, before he spot Mu Arae and raised a brow at the pink chibi? beside her.

He decided not to comment instead asking, "do you have any clue what is going on?"

Sparrow Riley

All of this <******** sucked.

For one thing, the whole 'falling into a void' was a problem. Second off -- ze'd done it as a civilian, too, so ze had absolutely no benefits. Third off -- no ******** cell signal. Maybe there was? But zyr phone wasn't even working, wouldn't power on at all, so it might have well as just been a hunk of metal. No phone meant no timer or clock, given Sparrow didn't wear a watch, too. So right away, as soon as ze'd ended up in a rift, there'd been issues and problems a mile ******** high. The whole 'not needing to sleep and not getting hungry' thing was just as much a curse as it was a blessing, because it meant there wasn't much of a reprieve from the crushing boredom except running through every memorized phrase and textblock ze had in zyr head.

(And thinking about all the assignments ze was probably missing, because there was no way ze was going to be lucky enough to find out 'oh, actually, no time passed while you were stuck in there, it was all from your perspective'. Nah. That would be too nice. When was life ever nice to zem? Absolutely ******** never. So ze estimated ze was looking at... probably a full letter grade drop? Maybe? It'd been at least a week.

Maybe. With no clock and no actual way to tell the passage of time, given there was no sun in the nonexistent sky, maybe it'd been less and Sparrow was just speedrunning going stir crazy, which was also honestly a very likely option. Ze hated doing nothing.)

Running into someone else had almost been worse. That girl had an impressive aura of menace, even looking like she'd walked out of a carwash for how saturated her everything was with reservoir water; it might have been a clever choice to reveal zyr identity, given she was a Negaverse Eternal Senshi, but? Yeah, absolutely not. Sparrow didn't trust her as far as ze could throw her (which was not far, given civilian arms), and it seemed like it was mutual; she'd given her name and snapped a couple of orders at zem every now and again (& given Sparrow had a very vested interest in zyr starseed remaining in zyr body, ze had complied with minimal bitching), but aside from that, she'd been quiet. Ze didn't want her writing zem up for insubordination or something or ******** other, so: totally a civilian, no hidden officer here! Nope!

And after a few days of that - or however long it had been, because her fuku didn't have a watch, either - the world broke, again, and both of them fell through.

After all that time of almost no noise and almost no nothing, it was overwhelming, it was blinding - literally blinding, even, Sparrow brought zyr arms up too late to avoid zyr vision going white and useless from the sparks - and fell flat on zyr a** when the gusts started factoring in, which was embarrassing, but so was literally all of this. Why try, honestly.

Sparrow Riley, temporarily-blinded civilian, is open for interaction!

Corrupt Eternal Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla was in a bad mood, but, she felt, she was justified on this one. She'd been tired all month, exhausted in one of those bad flare-ups she got when sleep didn't seem to do much, and the first time in a week she'd left her apartment building for a reason besides her actual job she'd immediately fallen into a hole in reality.

She hadn't been very happy about it, but, really, she thought she'd been extremely nice to the civilian she'd been stuck with. Not that ze had mirrored it in kind, but you could only expect so much out of people, right? There hadn't been any escape, but she was patient these days, or she'd taught herself how to be (or she'd been taught how to be, same difference); so when an exit finally came, she barely paid Sparrow any attention, too busy getting to a point where she could better understand the scene.

Giant monster. Smaller, but still normal sized, monsters. A bunch of auras and a bunch of people, blood and sparks and wind -- she planted her heels firmly and didn't let it drag her towards the big one too much. (Sparrow didn't seem to be so lucky, but that wasn't Chrysocolla's problem, really.)

Big monster? Not on her side, for once? Easy answer. It had a big crystal in its chest, and she knew what to do about those: dive right into a melee frenzy. There wasn't a shred of hesitation in any inch of her body as Chrysocolla sprinted for the monster, readying an assault.

Chrysocolla is open for interaction!

Lacille looked over at Pharos and then back up at the rift she was worried, about a great number of things but now she had to worry about making sure her new friend got out of this place as well. "I'm sorry to see you here, I was hoping you hadn't gotten pulled into this mess." She said and then said, "Come on we need to find a way out of here unless you have an idea on how to help that poor creature."

Morpheus listened to what the Eternal had to say and he nodded and waited for instructions. From what he sensed it made a lot of sense and he wondered if Acubens would agree or say that trying to save the creature was a waste of time. "If I can get close enough I can use my soot, it won't cause harm, it's merely a surreal distraction."

Corporal Vyn

Vyn didn’t forget the differences between himself and others, especially when it came to their dying world. Those differences were glaringly obvious, and couldn’t be overcome by something so unreachable as an alternate solution. Those differences spoke to the nature of a person — what they were willing to sacrifice for one person versus their entire world, and everyone still there.

He simply chose to put those differences aside, temporarily, when one of his only allies in an unfamiliar place happened to be one who’d made a different choice. The Negaverse were not their allies; they were a means to an end. The White Moon were not their allies either; they were a hindrance, willing to sacrifice another world to satisfy their idealism, disguising their own evil with their hopes for another way, when the truth was they simply had no reason to care.

There was a reason the White Moon kept languishing on this world, looking to others to solve their own problems. They weren’t willing to make sacrifices. The Negaverse, wicked as they could be, was.

“Vaylin!” Vyn called through the wind as she began to make her way toward the largest creature. He followed, not because he agreed that their best chance was to attack it — he hadn’t had the chance to assess the situation yet — but because she was going to get herself blown over if she wasn’t careful. He shored up her right side, keeping her steady.

“There aren’t enough of us to take on something that size,” he said.

Maybe there would have been, if any of these people knew how to coordinate. The White Moon failed at it, time and time again. The Negaverse was better with preparation, but they clearly had no preparation for this. As for those other Senshi, the ones who weren’t Corrupt but still corrupted… he didn’t know enough about them to determine their readiness, or their willingness to cooperate.

Then, through the mayhem, as he frantically searched about, he spotted others — two there, another over there.

The Vanguard, small in number at the moment, but more than just the pair of them.

Aliez! Andreiya! Tenoch! Over here! Group up! We have to stay together!”

Sailor Leona: Dark Mirror of Cryoseism

Leona didn’t understand what was going on. One moment she was laying in the park looking up at the stars, wishing that she could visit. Perhaps she could get in good with a senshi or a knight who wouldn’t want to absolutely murder her and they could take her up to space but…

Perhaps that wouldn’t happen. It was so stupid. She wanted to trust them. Wanted to befriend people but. It was difficult. Especially when she sent her magic at those who were in her court. On her side it…it made making friends rather difficult even though that was the very last thing she wanted it to be.

But was it her fault that she was so…overwhelmed and confused? Was it her fault that this wasn’t something…normal?

Kind of, to be honest. She was the one who had followed a strange talking adorable cat and had wanted the magic powers but…that wasn’t any reason as to why she was so bad at this.

With a heavy sigh, Leona continued to stare up at the stars, giving a small smile when she saw a shooting star…oh that. That was nice! She closed her eyes to make a wish.

It was a wish for new friends and possibly a wish for purpose. She felt so lost in all of this. Adrift in a world that she didn’t understand.

Of course, when someone had their eyes closed making wishes, it was terribly easy to miss when things happened. Things like strange rifts opening up around her. Breaking through to other places.

Things like strange rifts opening up under her.

It was only when Leona hit the ground that she realized something was wrong. That and the sudden flair if a lot of auras.

Her eyes snapped open and Leona looked in utter horror at the sight before her eyes. This…This wasn’t…this wasn’t anything she was used to at all and the very sight made her feel rather faint.

Looking around, Leona noticed that there seemed to be…portals? Something behind the giant monster that looked right out of a horror movie that was bearing down on all of those who were here if…

If she could get past him if…

But there were so many other creatures too, and as one of them came at her, screeching and preparing to attack, she yelped and screamed her attack. “Trembling Cold!”

It didn’t stop the creature, but it helped. The damn thing slipped and seemed to skid slightly, screaming in protest as her magic did its work. And Leona took the time to run. To use whatever speed she had in her body, hoping to just get to one of the open rifts. Hoping to get back to the city.

When she had wished for more friends. For more understanding…this was not what she had meant.

Lacerta, Super DMS (Bandages)

There was nothing at first to indicate to Lacerta that things were slowly going more and more awry. Her mission of trying to find her missing hive of bees had been discontinued. If anything she resorted to thinking that it would just be easier to buy a new hive but the risks associated with a decision like that could be left to another time. Instead Lacerta focused on the most important ascertainment that she could think of: getting out of here alive. Her ability to at least try and dissuade some of the creatures from lashing out at her seemed to be working, but only in a small sense. Truthfully Lacerta thought that given the throng of creatures and only the smaller amount of people from Destiny City, that those who'd been trapped where facing a losing battle.

At the moment that that particular thought fired through her mind Lacerta noted the strange behavior of the attacking things as they all simultaneously dropped lower to the ground. A build-up of electricity, raw, powerful, arced over the senshi's head and she winced as a result. That hadn't hurt, not exactly, but Lacerta would swear the to the effect that it washed right through her and left her ... disoriented, to say the least. The gusts of wind that followed buffeted her frame and she attempted to plant her feet more solidly on the ground in an attempt to just remain upright.

It was in this moment of disorientation that Lacerta was jostled by another senshi who was charging by and she almost went down to the ground, no matter to her stance, as a result. But the strong arm that kept her from falling over and then hearing her name spoken aloud did Lacerta realize that the one who had almost bowled her over was none other than Acubens. Having her arm in a grip as a senshi sped off in another direction meant that it was all Lacerta could do to remain upright. The wind was still buffeting the trio, for Lacerta had realized that Acubens was playing piggyback for another dark mirror, and was making it more difficult for the velociraptor senshi to maintain semblance of control on her dash. This was proven when, upon arrival, Tegmine had to help steady her. Lacerta was silent upon her inclusion in the group.

It wasn't until she managed to gain her bearings back that she realized the giant tear in the sky and the behemoth that was the cause of apparently all the fissures being created. Was it this thing that was responsible for the loss of one of her hives? Her gaze swung instead to the argument taking place between Rana and Acubens and she grimaced. Fighting the creature or trying to aid it seemed to be the most boiled down version of opinions being considered. Lacerta considered both ideas before staring at the tears that if one was looking at directly would oft show glimpses of places in the city. Would it just be easier to ignore this battle and try to get home? Or if that was the case, would the fissures keep occurring?

It was obvious that something needed to be done in the meantime and Lacerta wondered if reasoning with the creature was even an option on the table. "I can't help but wonder," she started out quietly, "if this thing could be reasoned with?" It was a question really, but Lacerta had a feeling that if push came to shove that whatever this creature was, it's actions were creating a sense of fight or flight responses in those that were trapped here. She didn't want to attack it less it sped up it's search and destabilized the very fabric of this reality, but also she did very much want to get back home.

Cadet Nessaela

One moment she was alone in a pocket of space that she didn't realize. Her comtech was dead. She was tired. She couldn't find a way out. Nothing seemed to be going right. Nessaela would be the first to admit that she seemed well and truly lost in this weird place. The Vanguardian cadet ahd tried remaining in place for a few hours just to see if another fissure would open. When that didn't work Nessa had taken to roaming around looking for some potential new fissure that would allow her to escape wherever it was that she now found herself.

That had seemed like ages ago. Now Nessaela was just trying to keep her spirits up. Was anyone even wondering where she was? She knew Tenoch would probably be curious, perhaps even Eso and Cypher, but for the rest it was a large unknown.

She had been sitting down on the ground, trying to push her tired brain to rest, if not her entire body, when suddenly a fissure opened up beneath her and she fell seemingly out of thin air into another pocket of space. But this was different. The creatures that swarmed around a barely stable platform were all heading in one direction but yet there were others here too. Nessaela rose to her feet and dusted off her cadet uniform before catching glimpses of powered individuals, civilians and, to her disbelief, members of the Vanguard. With grim determination did she slog through the massive crush of bodies in order to join up with those that were familiar to her. Her gaze caught a certain individual with purple-hued skin and she felt a strange sense of contentment wash over her . Tenoch! He was here too. Hearing the voice of Vyn, Nessaela also moved in the direction that the corporal's voice was coming from. Strength in numbers would be a good strategy but what exactly would the end result be?

The wind is picking up in speed and power.

It’s almost unavoidable and it feels like a storm is rapidly growing around the crowded platform. Some of the gargoyle monsters seem compelled to take flight, as though they might be able to reach the sickly crystal embedded in the giant beast. Some don’t seem willing to risk the spontaneous waves of electricity that came and went above them.

The fighting is almost unavoidable at this point in time. The wind is pushing everyone towards the great tear in the sky, and whether you wanted to or not, you’re being pushed into the lair of the giant beast.

The closer you get to the crystal, the more overwhelming it is.

You can feel it, too.

The desperation. The need.

Maybe it’s to get out of here and away from all of this fighting.

Maybe it’s to get to the crystal and harness all of that power for yourself.

Maybe it’s something else, something that means more than freedom or power, something you hold close to your heart, something you need.

But you’re not going to get it, you’re not going to get anything if you don’t fight.

…And the giant has realized it.

It knows.

It’s the only thing standing in your way.

You have to stop it.

The monsters are already swarming it–some in the air, some on the ground. They’re swooping in, biting, clawing, climbing.

It’s too crowded for you to make an escape. The portals are too unpredictable. There are monsters running for the portals--portals you know lead to Destiny City.

To places you recognize.

You need to fight or you need to get out of the way.

Quote:
The great beast is reeling, swatting at the monsters attacking it and clawing at the air. Despite the attacks, it still continues to feverishly search, and portals are opening up and closing all around. It’s not enough to escape through, but some of these monsters look like they have the same idea as you do–and what’s going to happen if they get out into Destiny City? If they escape?

Even if you are avoiding the giant swiping his hands across the crowd, or its occasional screeching, you have to be careful to avoid the sudden, strange bursts of energy that seem to be shooting out of it towards the crowd to try and blow them back. The storm outside won’t let you escape and the desperation is heavy in the air.

Something big is going to happen here, but if you want to get out, you’re going to have to get rid of the giant blocking your path.

Probably before the monsters do, unless you want them to have access to all the power in the crystal in its chest…

Quote:
If a player wants to interact with one of the attacking creatures, they can puppet it doing so! The creatures cannot speak but might growl or roar; they will attack with their talons and sharp teeth. They can fly short distances but it seems difficult for them to get too much air. They do not seem to get along and may attack each other as well as characters; they have no energy signature and will target civilians and powered characters the same. They do not seem magical, though if they are attacked with great ferocity they will explode into a sticky black tar, not unlike what seems to be covering the surfaces in this strange pocket dimension. Their attention has shifted to attacking the giant monster, specifically to try and reach the crystal embedded in its chest, but they will still attack anyone in their way.

A great need has filled all characters, but players can choose what this is and how it manifests or affects their actions. Players can choose to be affected by the gusts in any way they like, but all characters should be pushed into the lair of the great beast. Characters may feel suffocated or may feel violently shoved if players like. They may feel crushed and smothered from the oppressive blasts of raw energy, or they may be hit by the giant’s swiping claws. They may take blunt force or slashing damage if they like; damage, and the extent of it, is completely up to the player!

This ORP is open to characters from all factions, including civilians! It will count as a regular roleplay for a civilian character but provided a powered character participates in any combat this can be used as a battle requirement. Civilians will be at a disadvantage narratively, but there is room for everyone to participate! You can play as many characters as you like, but players are discouraged from participating with more characters than they can reasonably play during the event. We strongly encourage players to fill out prompts as they go and make a genuine effort to backfill as soon as possible if they are not able to fill out their post immediately. You should not have more than one unfilled post at a time; you may reserve a post if you have the intention of responding quickly but please do not reserve a new post before filling out the last. There is no need to reserve posts between prompts; there will not be any dice rolls or repercussions from missing prompts. You can post as often as you like between mule posts.

Players must put their character’s name and a link to their journal at the top of their posts.

This ORP ICly takes place on Saturday, July 3rd so it is forward dated to the last day of the event. ICly it will last for about an hour.

Prompts will regularly be posted ~every 72 hours. The time between final prompt and closing prompt will be ~48 hours and will be announced at the time; the ORP will close on Sunday, July 3rd. You can join the ORP at any time, up until the final prompt when new participants will no longer be permitted.

There will be no dice rolling in this ORP; there are no rewards for being the highest roller or more active and this event was designed to be a little relaxed. Players will be able to both enter at any point in time and will be able to remove their characters from the central part of the ORP if they need to without suffering any IC repercussions. There are no repercussions if a player misses a prompt. Any player who participates with any character (or characters) and writes at least 500 words will be eligible for rewards at the end of this roleplay; playing multiple characters will not yield multiple rewards so you only need one to participate. At any point in time between now and a prompt that says otherwise, your character can be sucked into another fissure and disappear from the platform or a character who participated in the Disappearances prompt can come through a fissure and join the ORP. Characters can be sucked in or pushed out together or alone, it’s up to the players.

The next prompt will be posted sometime after 7 PM EST on Friday, July 1st! This is the last post to bring in new characters, so if you want anyone to join you need to post before 7 PM EST on Friday!

Corrupt Helena, Senshi of Wit

Helena hadn’t expected the stupid senshi to push her. Hadn’t expected him to push her and really hadn’t expected to end up falling through something into a place that she didn’t know, didn’t understand and…didn’t like.

Her head swiveled around, long braid swinging as she tried to figure out what had happened, where they had ended up…why they were here, and even though she did feel a small dart of comfort when she saw that Beira was there with her, it quickly soured when she realized that the only reason they had come to this strange place was because he had pushed her…

Of course maybe he wouldn’t have if she hadn’t used her magic but.

That was neither here nor there. “You!”

Her voice was shrill, not quite afraid, but edging closer to that area of town. “What kind of a trick is this? Do you think this is going to stop me? Pushing me through some kind of a worm hole into…what. Is this Hell?”

Her eyes flickered around again and landed on the impossibly large creature that seemed to be blocking whatever exits were available. “If this is Hell, serves you right that you’re here with me, you stupid…idiot.”

Helena wasn’t a physical person. She was small and rather wraith like but. She drew back her hand and aimed a punch right for the other senshi’s face.

Spei, Page of the Moon

The wind started to blow with even more force, nearly knocking Spei into one of the gargoyle-like creatures. Struggling to keep his feet beneath him, he watched the monsters attacking the giant thing, trying to get at the enormous crystal on its chest. As he watched, more fissures opened up behind it, leading back to Destiny City… and some of the gargoyles were heading toward them.

He couldn't allow this to happen.

A mighty need filled him then, a growing desperate need to get home… but also to protect his city from both the smaller gargoyle creatures as well as the monstrous beast. Buffeted by the howling wind, he headed toward the huge monster, hoping that the other Knight would follow. They had to defeat it. He didn't know how, but they had to. To save their home.

Lieutenant Reidite

Reidite wanted to charge at the giant monster with the crystal. He wanted to rip it limb from limb for trapping Cymophane there. He had no idea if it was the creature’s fault, but he was angry and wanted to get back to the city, and so few others were doing anything.

So he let Cymophane hold onto him (because really? Like he was going to make him let go?) and took his stupid die and hurled it at the creature.

He knew it wouldn’t do anything, but he still yelled as he did so. It made him feel a little better at least.

“Come, I will carry you,” he turned to Cymophane then, absolutely serious about offering to carry him to safety through the cracks in reality. He would toss Cymophane through one if it meant saving him.
