Character name, rank, and a link to their journal Super Sailor Cybele
Location: E2

Ganymede was staying, then. Ganymede was ready to fight.

Cybele did not look back to Lyndin and Caedus. Her eyes were locked on her sister. She gave a nod that was small but deadly serious. "Remember what you told me when I purified, about choice?"

It wasn't a moment that Cybele was ever going to forget. She smiled, even despite the tension in the air and the way that her tightly curled fists were shaking at her sides.

"You're someone I choose to protect, Princess, with all of the strength that I have. I'll be by your side."

The others had shown her kindness, as well, and she would do what she could to watch their backs. At least, she'd try. This was one of those times when it was terribly awkward to have been reduced to a Super. She was the weakest link in their little group and might end up as a liability, especially if the summons brought one of the many people who wanted her head.

Still, with a determined set to her jaw, she followed the little group towards one of the generators in a corner.

Name: Commander Cydfae
Location: D6

Cyd didn’t need any of the Commodore’s reassurance. She watched him with mingled pride and concern as he continued to lead with such certainty despite how tired she knew he was. They were all tired. But they were also all so close. She looked around, previously so worried about whether or not these creatures -- these humans had what it took to end this war once and for all. Those concerns were erased as she looked around at the gathered army.

Her people who had fought and wandered and lost so much. Who had never belonged anywhere. Who had a good chance of going home if they won. If the humans would let them. Her people who never once gave up, even if it seemed like the easier option. Commodore Lyndin, who had suffered possibly the most of them all, but still led with love and grace and fortitude. They were all here, at the end of the line. Finally.

They were an army. One she was fiercely proud of.

She took up a post next to a generator where she saw one human standing. He looked strong, to be sure, but he was alone. Cyd figured it was a good place to start.

Name: Squire Lourdes
Location: D5

Lourdes had spent the time between the meeting with the aliens and this evening agonizing over what to do. The prospect of going back… of physically re-entering that hell she had finally crawled out of… made her feel physically sick. She’d even had to call out of work a few times because she felt so ill. She paced and wondered and ranted and cried and screamed for weeks, but when the notice came the question evaporated.

She was going.

The answer shimmered to life as clearly as though she had known the answer all along. Like it wasn’t just an answer, it was the only option. And, she realized, it was. The only way to avoid being dragged back was to burn the house down. And burn it down she would. And then, when she was standing on the ashes, maybe she’d finally be able to sleep soundly through the night.

She approached the gathered ordered members and took her place beside Scylla. One of the first truly kind faces she’d seen. One of the only friends she had in the place. As the crowd filed in and milled around she caught sight of the other friendly face she knew. Cybele had taken up her posting next to what Lourdes couldn’t only assume was one of the fabled royals. The princess who had been there the night the aliens arrived. She’d be safe there. Still, she tried to catch the other woman’s eye and gave a slight wave.

“So this is it then,” she murmured to Scylla, trying to stop the trembling that racked her body.

Name: Page Agrippa
Location: E2

Agrippa had never powered up so fast in her whole life. She never once had any doubt in her mind of what she needed to do. The second she heard about the weapon she was ready to go. She had her princess, after all, and her unshakable faith in her wonder. This wasn’t just the right choice, it was the only choice. She hadn’t been in this war long, she knew, but others had. And she was a healer. What kind of a healer would she be if she didn’t do everything she could do to heal those wounds that decades of war had torn in her city.

She sidled up next to her princess as the woman delivered her words of assurance. There were people around that she didn’t recognize, but that wasn’t saying much. She nodded to them all, but then turned her attention to Ganymede.

“I trust you, Ganymede,” she answered. For whatever that was worth. She’d only seen the woman in passing and at times like this… if they survived, she would need to form real bonds with her princess and her fellow knights.

“No matter what happens, massages at my parlour are on the house.” She laughed to add what little levity she could, and hoped it was enough.

Character name, rank, and a link to their journal Naeria
Location: B2

The Commodore's speech made Naeria's heart flutter. It was partially out of pride, and loyalty. He trusted her and her companions. He'd hand picked them. Of course they would all do whatever they could to add this mission to his long list of successful ones.

There were nerves there, as well, as Naeria tightened her grip around the hilt of her blaster.

Yes, she'd joined the Vanguard knowing that it might get her into dangerous situations from time to time. Yes, she'd gone through combat training. It did not mean she was eager for battle. She was far more interested in exploring and researching other worlds than she was in fighting over them.

She would do it, though. For the mission. For Caedus and Commodore Lynding. For Earth.

One of the generators still did not seem to have anyone nearby, and Naeria headed in that direction.

Character name, rank, and a link to their journal Squire Pendour
Location: E5

The Knight that she'd initially arrived next to did not seem to have much confidence in the situation, which, while Pendour understood, only made the twisting feeling in her stomach get stronger and stronger. She didn't follow him when he marched off to one of the generators, not because she wanted to be rude, but because he was a stranger and she didn't want to make him deal with things if it got worse, and she ended up freezing up or panicking.

"Um, good luck?" she called after him.

She caught sight of another familiar face, and she did find herself moving instinctively towards Encke.

"I didn't know they were planning for a fight," she murmured to him. Her voice was always soft, but right now it seemed almost weak. "Caedus seemed so sweet. I gave him energy, but now, I don't-"

She glanced around towards everyone who was spreading out into formation with grim looks in their eyes. Her shoulders drooped.

Eternal Ida
Location: F5

Thoughts moved through Ida's mind, but she kept them to herself as she listened to the exchanges. From what she gathered, they were getting ready to strike and it sent a shot of adrenaline through her, making her body tingle with a mixture of fear and anticipation. The eternal was not someone who relished the thought of fighting, but she'd been around long enough for it to become just another faucet of being a senshi. Senshi fought Chaos. Today, they would fight them again, and unlike the daily smaller struggles, this was going to be a far grander scale.

People were going to get hurt, likely man of them people she knew and cared about. Likey, the Negaverse was going to bring out some of its biggest weapons... not just the highest of their ranks, but some of the greatest of their monsters, hidden deep in the rift for times just like this. Was she ready for this? She wasn't sure. It didn't really matter, in the end. Ida would be here to do her part. There was no way she could leave.

The senshi was so on edge that she actually jumped when she felt something small press against her legs.

"Illyria!" She gasped out when she glanced down and saw what it was. The relief was instant and she bent down to pick up the small body, cradling her supported against her chest. "I'm so glad to see you! I don't know if you want to be here though... There is going to be a fight, and I'm pretty sure its going to be a big one. It's going to get dangerous." Her fingers scratched beneath the small cat's chin unconsciously, the motion ingrained from years of her own cat at home.

Page Einhornhöhle
Location:C6

Einhornhohle felt Sava’s hand close around her own. Rather than pulling comfort from the small gesture and promises made, she felt guilty. Stomach twisting into savage knots, it became increasingly more difficult to allow the kind gesture and resist the urge to pull away.

“I’ll only end up getting in the way,” she replied, tone more serious than usual. Her focus remained on the center console where both Caedus and Lyndin stood. “I had many opportunities these last few years to prepare myself for something like this. Instead, I chose work and to treat my wonder like a vacation spot.”

“I just don’t want you to take any unnecessary risks,” Ein fell silent for a long moment. “I wonder if it would be best if I stay behind, that way I won’t be a distraction to you.” As a knight, Sava would be more useful to the aliens and their other comrades. Whereas all she was capable of was looking pretty holding a lantern so they could see. Even then the tea light wasn’t all that bright.

Sava Knight of Cosmos
Location:C6

Sava paused and turned to look at Ein with a small, sad smile. “If you want to go, I understand...I’d hurry and head up to your wonder then, Stay up there for a few hours.” Nobody could blame her for feeling afraid. It was a new, strange situation...and not something that anyone should have to deal with…

“Or hurry now, before it all starts…”

Or stay with me...let me protect you…

She smiled again and squeezed Ein’s hand once more before letting it go. “I support you no matter what you decide, Ein. We’re partners. And I’ll be here no matter what.”

Even if she was alone. But...that was nothing new, now was it?

Page Einhornhöhle
Location:C6

In a game of chess, Einhornhöhle was nothing more than a pawn. An ill-equipped knight whose only role is to hold the front line and let those with magic or weapons do the actual fighting.

Ein wasn't an ignorant child with dreams of grandeur, if anything she was a realist who saw things how they were and while the idea of being saved might have made her heart flutter in her youth, right now the idea of it made her anxious if not sad. They needed Sava's strength, her staff, her presence for this mission to succeed but the Aliens had yet to offer any sort of idea of what someone without magic could do to help.

The last thing she wanted to do was play the role of the Damsel in Distress. So, what exactly could she hope to do if she followed them onto the comet? At best she could swing her lantern which would hurt more than a rock being thrown.

"Honestly it doesn't matter if I go or stay. Hide away on my wonder only to find out there is o home to come back to. Stay here and run the risk of getting ambushed by Negavers Agents or their Corrupt Senshi; or the ones with the wraith-like monsters." Forgot what they called themselves since it wasn't often she encountered one of them.

"I don't want you to promise to protect me. Rather... I'd rather you promise that one way or another we'll make it back home." Protecting her meant a level of sacrifice may be demanded and Einhornhöhle didn't want Sava to get hurt on her behalf. "Alive..." She added as a last-minute stipulation.

Character name, rank, and a link to their journal: Namielle - Guardian Cat (Order)
Location: F6

Not that she would be of particular use in the circumstances, but as everyone began to fan out she thought that perhaps it would be in her best interests to do the same. She couldn't guarantee she would be able to do anything to turn the tide in any specific manner, but she had her claws and she had her little laser in the event that someone needed a distraction at the very least.

Thus, the cat wandered off quietly towards one of the large generators, moving towards the south where it seemed one of the Velencians had taken up position. Suffice to say she didn't recognise any of them, but as they hadn't given her any specific reason to dislike them (though suspicion remained), she at least didn't regard Caerynn with any particular trepidation.

She soon took a seat, curling her tail around her paws and she looked out at the otherwise dark scene.

She knew much better than to expect this would go well, but it didn't seem like anyone was prepared to listen to those who spoke of caution. All she could do was hope that it didn't go so catastrophically wrong that there was nothing left of them after.

Character name, rank, and a link to their journal Itztenoch - Cadet with a Blaster
Location: C5

A breath, deep after the ice water splash of an order had him set his shoulders and - they only had moments still?! Minutes. Earth minutes for the others. Tenoch gave a brief squeeze to them both. To Eso and Nessa. "Stay safe, make them bleed for it." lit grin and quick flash of a smile that held an edge of grimness.

Before he was sprinting off across the field. Hissed breath between his teeth as he slid up into a space - adjacent to one joining group or another. Itztenoch could punch a thing, surely, but he'd chosen the blaster. Cover fire and covering body at the backs of others - it was always something he'd been good for - wanted to be available to keep whatever came in - came through - off of the others for long enough...

Lilac gaze cast between the two gatherings around one generator or another.

He wondered if he could play at offering auxiliary fire between the scattering of groups, poor tactics to slide alone between, but then he could shift his momentum, could chose which group to bolster the ranks of from where stood between, with backup; depending on how things fell apart within the next few seconds.

Eternal Lepus, Chibi Hokkaido, Mauvian Etoile (or, two idiots and a cheeb)

Location: E3

Lepus seemed confused, but gave Hokkaido a closer look. Green hair, blue eyes, red and white fuku… what were the differences again? Hm… didn’t one have a headband and the other didn’t? Not to mention ‘Aomori’ seemed unusually panicked, almost like…

“Oh! It seems I am indeed mistaken,” Lepus said, “Sorry about that, er… Hokkaido, right? You and your sister really ought to wear name tags- it’s so hard to tell you two apart!”

To Charybdis, she said “Ah, sorry, it seems a case of mistaken identity is to be had here! This is Chibi Hokkaido, Senshi of Baku… and Aomori’s twin sister. And…”

The teen looked back down at Hokkaido, squinting.

“They look an awful lot alike- you really gotta study them to tell them apart?”

Hokkaido could only wilt even further, waiting for the ground to just swallow her up here and then. At least this older chibi had come to her rescue, but what now? Someone was saying this was their last chance to leave if they wanted to, which she really did, but she hadn’t found her sister yet, and who knew what sort of tragic, unfortunate fate would befall upon her if she tried to go back home on her own?

Being Hokkaido was very suffering.

Lepus, personally, didn’t know where Aomori was either, but hey! She was a pretty resourceful kid; surely she was either already here, or prepared to prank Negas elsewhere.

No worries, she was a pretty trustworthy babysitter who could keep Aomori’s twin safe- just look at last year! Nobody died, so she felt that lended to her credibility as someone who could be entrusted with the care and safety of two grade schoolers. But enough about that- someone else was talking to her, the Cosmos Squire that she had noticed talking to Charybdis when she arrived. Seeing as Charybdis was now preoccupied talking to two other people that had arrived, she turned to face the squire, a proper introduction in order, clearly.

(And, well, someone else to talk to, seeing as uh. There was clearly something going down between these people that Charybdis seemed to know, and vice versa.)

“That’s right, I’m Eternal Sailor Lepus, the senshi of rabbits!” And also a very awesome person overall, of course. “I take it you’re a friend of hers as well, then?”

Etoile was very overjoyed to see Charybdis, and quite nearly leapt into the chibi’s arms, but stopped when the preteen’s attention was redirected elsewhere, and when they started speaking in a language she didn’t understand. The kitten sat, looking up at Charybdis expectantly, waiting. Love her, pet her… feed her??

“… Bonjour?” the little kitten said, unable to follow the conversation at hand.

Valhalla, Transcended Knight of Jupiter
Location:
E2

Vahalla smiled at both Kerberos and Cybele as they decided to stay close to Ganymede. Obviously he was going to stay by her side. He would stay by her side in this life and in the next, if the Space Cauldron would be so kind to them, as they had been kind to their past lives, allowing them to meet and fall in love again.

“Thank you, Cybele. And you as well, Kerberos. Let’s get this over quickly and then we can figure out what to do next,” he said with a smile, and then another smile to the Page of Ganymede that joined them.

He knew others thought him too naive or too optimistic, but if someone didn’t hope then what did they have?

Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter
Location:
D6

Two minutes. Sessrumnir drew in a breath and then nodded. It would be smart to spread out, so while Ganymede and Valhalla were across the field, he turned to the large generator to the South. There were a couple others already there, to whom he nodded in greeting. A Velencian Commander, and a Squire.

As long as they stayed out of his way, he wouldn’t have to worry about them getting hurt if he had to call out his summon.

Eternal Sailor Oberon
Location:
C5

”How’s it going?” Oberon asked the Velencian already in the area he decided to spread out to. It was in a good location between three of the big generators and the center where Caedus and Lyndin were standing. “Oberon,” he introduced, as he continued to type out messages on his phone. He was trying to keep Perdita up to date on things, but it was difficult.

“Hang on, I’m trying to keep my friend updated,” he explained to the alien and then switched the disposable phone to voice to text.

“Negaverse gonna be called in a couple minutes. Caedus said only a couple should show up, but I don’t know. Seems dangerous. We’ll keep Destiny City in one piece, though. Caedus and his group are pretty confident about this working, so I’ll trust him,” he said into the phone and then cringed that it was such a long text. He thought it might be easier to call her, but she was probably super busy and needed to keep her hands free.

“Okay, I’m good. Cool phaser. Is it set to stun or kill?”

Eso- Cadet with a dagger
Location: C5

He took a deep breath himself and squeezed his friends hands. Things weren't great for him. The longer they were here, the more that gathered, Eso grew more and more nervous.

Then Tenoch was gone, and he was reaching for him. Stay in groups.

"Thought you could get rid of me that easily?" He sounded, grabbing hold of Tenoch's hand before panting and looking back to the pair in the center. All or nothing soon, wasn't it?

Eso signed up for this, knowing not all of them were going to make it home. It was stupid to think otherwise. Logic dictated that with something this scale, there would be casualties on their side too, especially when the Negaverse deicide to try to stop them.

At least they got to experience human joys for a while.

"Let's get to destroying evil, eh?"

Nessaela - Cadet with a Dagger
Location: C5

Two minutes.

Just two minutes.

One-hundred and twenty earth seconds. That's how long she had to decide. Though was the choice already made for her? Tenoch's reassurance was fleeting even as she watched the cadet move steadily across the field. The sensation of being left behind was brief as she made a hasty decision to follow Itztenoch. He might have a blaster that he could use on enemies - but who would watch his back in the moments it took for the blaster to charge back up. She stomped to stand at his side before growing bold as she spoke, "you can't shake me off like that. We are the Vanguard. We are supposed to protect each other and the mission, right? Don't think you can just abandon a fellow cadet like you did."

She brought her dagger out and moved the blade around in the air close to her body. Her gaze was contemplative as she surveyed the grounds. Soon chaos, both figuratively and literally, would erupt in a battle that would be spoken of for many generations. It would hopefully end in favor of the Velencian visitors and the allies of Earth.

"Itztenoch, I'm committing myself to watching your back. You pick off enemies from afar and I'll cover your rear."

As she spoke she nodded to another cadet that was at Tenoch's side. (Eso) "We'll watch out for each other."
