Pyrve was catching up to the others and it seems she was pretty close to passing someone up. Deciding to be smart about her stunt this time, she used rocking climbing and strategically paid attention to what she was doing. She was careful and calculating this time as she continued up the mountain to finish off the challenge. Once she reached the top, she realized she was on the tail of someone and almost finished in third place. Not where she wanted to be, but it was an accomplishment none the less. She's reached the top and was waiting for those behind her. Taking a sip of water, she felt she'd earned that much and no telling what other outrageous things they were about to do next. Giving her legs a rest, she sat down with legs stretched out in front of her. She's gotten a few cuts from the rocks, but they were healing now thanks to aura. She was sure once everyone was to the top, there would be father instructions. Therefore, she wouldn't even bother to ask Sinn any questions. It was just better to wait and rest while the getting was good.
A slow clap would be heard by all gathered there as Sinn would come forth from around a bend on the mountain top. His body language, despite the clapping, was not particularly relaxed as there seemed to be a rigidity and methodical motion as he did it. His face was still serious even as he clapped, but the tip of his lips were slightly curved in the barest hints of a smile. "Congratulations on reaching the summit. While there are only two victors today, you all proved your worth in reaching the top on your first attempts," he would give them slight praise, pausing momentarily as his eyes drifted to Pyrrhus and Penninah. "And congratulations to you two for being the first up here. As was promised, you will both be given a prize; you will each be a team leader for the next competition. You will have until dinner tonight to pick who will be part of your teams," he would simply say. In his mind, it would prove interesting to see who they would pick; and it happened to work out well that the winners were part of the same team, so it would necessitate for them to choose those who they normally do not interact much with. 'A small step towards getting them united,' he reasoned to himself. It would also give him insight on who was chosen and why for each; helping him figure out the weak links and who he should focus on in some regards. He would let that information sink in before speaking again. "Due to Svafnir and Thyra being unable to complete this trial, they will both be sitting out of the next one and doing something else instead. Until further notice, Rosa will also not be participating while she is ill. In essence, your team will consist of only those who reached the summit today," he would finish explaining why those there were excluded from being picked for teams in the next competition. It was not ideal that so many of them would not be participating, but it was a necessity for now. "Take a moment to rest. We set out back for the shrine in ten minutes. Be at the base of the mountain by then," he would alert them as he would casually begin to walk down the path he had come up to gather the two who were unable to make the climb. The others could now see a winding path that led down the back of the mountain, presumably all the way down to ground level. They could follow Sinn if they had any questions, or if they were more adventurous they could climb down the way they came.
If no questions were had for him amongst the students, Sinn would lead them all back to the shrine. No event of particular note would occur on the journey back, and once they arrived he would take Thyra and Svafnir aside for a private lesson. This would leave everyone with free time to talk amongst themselves before dinner would occur. Perhaps even rest/shower in the meantime till then. As he did so, he would advise everyone to use the gender separated outdoor springs bath while they had the time to do so. It would give them time to talk and relax/clean themselves after the exertion of the day. It was only a suggestion though; they need not use it if they did not desire to and could spend the time before dinner as they pleased. They would all be alerted to what time dinner was, seven in the eve, and to be there on time lest the food be wasted. They would have an equally early start the next day. This would give the students a couple of hours to spend as they desired. Penninah, if she checked in on her, would find Rosa still ill but stable for now at least. She was neither worse not much better than before for the time being. [A small reprieve to socialize]
Helping those that needed it until the last competitor had joined them, the petite fair warrior would nod to Narky then go and sit back and observe the other students with calm crimson eyes. The pale-haired male seemed quite enthusiastic for coming in last place, but his cry of pleasure made her chuckle softly. Okay, it was adorable to say the least, and it was a little infectious. Her smile curved a bit more when she saw her team leader approaching them. His praise was an appreciated surprise for sure."You did well too Alois...All of you did,"She would retort with genuine approval, looking from Alois and Sir Pyrrhus from where she sat, gave him a bow of her head before looking to the rest of their classmates (Narky, Pyrve, Natagai) and glancing back at the young knight of olde once more."Seems he is my equal once again,"Peninnah thought absently, amused. She would then looked up to the clouds, closing her eyes to enjoy a gentle breeze.
First challenge out of the way and everyone seeming to catch their breaths, Pen would nearly jump out of her skin when Sinn's clapping assaulted her ears. On instinct, her body seemed to move on its own as a split second after she went from sitting to standing and Dragens Vrede in her hand. A crimson glower up at Sinn's face. Taking a deep breath, the young warrior would calm herself and re-sheath her axe, relaxed once more before looking confused."How..."Peninnah began but stopped and frowned with bemusement when she looked behind their instructor to see the hidden path."That's...cheating,"She thought with a pout before shaking herself and looking back at the older male faunus as he spoke and it was indeed a jaw-dropper of news to her as a mix of emotions now swam through her."Leader? Me?"The thought was clear on her face before she became carefully unreadable."Thank you, Sinn,"Peninnah said respectfully cool before he would depart.
For now, she had no questions for him since he'd already answered any she'd previously planned to ask."Knowing Alois, he would rather be led by Pyrrhus, which I don't blame him..."She thought automatically."Um, well, I'll see you all back at the shrine as well,"Peninnah said, a bit stiff from shock or was it nerves? Who knew. If she wasn't stopped or spoken to before, she would continue with making her climb back down the mountain the same way they climbed up...

Everyone would arrive back from the trial, mostly safe and sound aside from Svafnir who had sustained minor injuries on his fall. Thankfully, he would be fine in a day or two. Upon return, before dinner, Svafnir and Thyra would've been taken aside individually for a 'private lesson' as it were. Both of them were told not to speak of it for the time being and agreed. Pyrrhus and Penninah would decide who got first pick over a game of rock paper scissors, with Pyrrhus being the victor. During dinner, the same day as the mountain climbing, they would pick their teams before Sinn. Pyrrhus had chosen Narkyena, Alois, and Pyrve for his team in that order. Penninah had chosen Svafnir, Natigai, and Thyra for her own. The students would have a chance to familiarize themselves with their new team who they would be working with for the remaining trials. Their rooms would remain the same, to ensure even if they were on opposing teams they would all have time to interact with one another and get to know each other.
On the next day, early in the morning, they would have a competition on holding their breaths beneath frigid water. Due to being unable to complete the first trial, Svafnir and Thyra were allowed to participate but they could not bring victory for their team. During the competition, Penninah and Pyrrhus would be the first two out, followed by Svafnir, Natigai, Thyra, Narkyena, Pyrve, and finally Alois who held it the longest to lead Pyrrhus' team to victory. Sinn would take Alois away to his room during the eve for a private lesson, which he made the man swear to keep secret.
Trial three would be a series of fighting matches between the students where they could use everything at their disposal. Penninah lost round one to Pyrrhus, Svafnir beat Narkyena round one, Natigai defeated Alois round one, and Pyrve triumphed over Thyra in round one. During round two, Svafnir defeated Pyrrhus and Natigai defeated Pyrve, resulting in a victory for Penninah's team. Sinn would take Natigai away to his room in the eve for a private lesson, making her promise to keep it secret or risk a curse.
Trial four would be a boulder tossing competition. Alois tossed his the farthest, followed by Natigai, then Svafnir, Narkyena, Penninah, Pyrrhus, Thyra, and Pyrve. Alois won the match for Pyrrhus' team. Sinn took Narkyena aside for a private lesson, making him swear to the fairies to keep what they spoke of a secret.
During this time, Rosa would begin to gradually recover in health but nowhere near enough to participate in the trials. The next day...
On the day of the fifth trial, Sinn had spoken privately with a little over half of the Dragonlings on their heritage; Svafnir, Thyra, Natigai, Narkyena, and Alois. Alerting them they would be leaving after breakfast, Sinn would have a simple tea and biscuit with little else for his meal as he watched the students. He was hoping after a few days of working together, they would all feel more unified; and that those he spoke too would carefully consider what he spoke to them of. By the end of the tournament, he planned to speak to all of them at least once. Once everyone had completed breakfast, he would tell them they would not need more than their weapons in case Grimm showed, and water for the trip, before he would escort them out of the shrine. His pace was much more leisurely than the past few days, and it became apparent why as after only thirty minutes they would arrive in a flower filled meadow not far from the shrine and abandoned town. The flowery field held greenery about thigh high, with little visibility beneath the grass or past their immediate next steps as they walked into it without any hesitation from him. Eventually, he would signal a stop to the rest of them and turn to face them. "Welcome to trial five, Dragonlings. I must say I am impressed with your teams; so far both teams are tied in the competition. You have worked well together, and forced each other to adapt and better one another," he would praise them, something not easily earned from him, as he would look to them with a slight smile. They had definitely improved from when they first arrived. His smile would fade slightly as he got more serious and continued. "That aside, there is still three trials left for you all to complete. The next trial will take place here," he would announce, pausing as he would reach into the greenery of the field and pull out a skull that looked to have been made to resemble a Dragons; of note, it had a rope tied around its horns that went to the left and right of it for some distance, with much of it presumably on the meadow floor. Further, there would be similar strange symbols scrawled on it like that of the shrine. "This trial will be a game of Tug of war. You will need to get the skull past your team's marker to win the match by pulling on the rope as the other team will try to do the same. You cannot do anything to disrupt or hinder the other team besides pulling the rope," he would explain the trial and the basic rules of it before moving ten feet to the left and right of the skull; at the ten foot mark of both sides he would pick up a rather large stake and set it into the ground to designate it as the marker for each team. He would move back to them, and set his cricket bat with the far end to the ground and hilt pointing up to the sky as he put his hands over it (this pose) before looking over to the students. "Pick your sides and gather. I will signal the start," he would say, and await everyone to position themselves round the rope/get a grip on it. "Begin," he would loudly announce, and would watch to see which side would be victorious. []

In this trial of the Dragon, the competing teams will be in a game of tug o' war. They will be trying to pull the center of the rope, tied with a 'skull of a dragon' to it, to their side. It will be a test of strength and balance as they try to claim the skull.
Rules:
1. Roll a d100 for the competition; to win, your teams total dice roll must beat the other teams in two round. Whichever side rolls the highest can say they pull the dragon towards their side, but it won't be until the second post of rolls that winner is known. By the third round, the winning team can say they pulled the other rope to their side; and perhaps a few competitors to the ground. 2. In this competition, having a strength/ balance talent or skill gives the person a +15 to their rolls. 3. If they have a weakest skill to strength/balance, you have a -15 to your roll.

While he had been less tense than her at Sinn's arrival, it still made his jaw drop and forced him to take a moment to let the news process. Especially the realization that came shortly after. 'This means that Lady Penninah and I shall be opposed for however long these teams last,' he realized, glancing quickly to her to see her in a similar state of shock and surprise. Everything else that was spoken was relatively muted, in his mind, aside from faint registration as he thought about what was to come. He was to lead aa team against Lady Penninah's team, one that he picked, to victory. A smile would cross his lips. 'This shall be very interesting and fun indeed,' he thought to himself. He enjoyed competition, and while he typically sat out of the sparring between Alois and Penninah, this would give him a chance to test himself against one of them. Sinn would mention that for the next competition, Svafnir and Thyra would sit out/not count for it due to not reaching the summit while Rosa would not participate till she was better. He would tell them to take a moment to rest, and to be at the base of the mountain in ten minutes as they will depart then before he would go down a slightly hidden trail. "Thank you Sinn," Pyrrhus would echo out with Lady Penninah. As Penninah said she will see them all back at the shrine, sounding a bit shocked still, before climbing back down. While he still had energy, Pyrrhus wanted to take things easy and just descend by taking the path. It was a bit of a walk back and he had a lot to think of, so he wanted to give his mind the chance to do so as he walked leisurely down the trail.
Once back at the shrine, Pyrrhus and Lady Penninah would agree that they would decide who had first pick for a team member by a game of rock paper scissors. Pyrrhus would win the game by countering Penninah's rock with paper. They also decided they would make the picks officially over dinner, one by one, in front of Sinn and the others. So it gave them some time to think on who they wanted. There were many good choices, in Pyrrhus' mind, so it would not be easy. As long as he picked wisely, it should be relatively balanced. Dinner came swiftly enough, and before Sinn along with the others he would speak. "I choose Narkyena," he would say, and the back and forth of the pick would start. He had bonded with Narkyena initially and wanted to work with him more. Lady Penninah would pick Svafnir next. "I choose Alois," he would say, seeing him as a good counter for Svafnir amongst the remaining people. Penninah would then pick Natigai, her new roommate. Unsure on her capabilities, he would be left to pick between Thyra and Pyrve. While he knew Thyra well, Pyrve was less so. And he knew Thyra and Alois working well together may be a bit much to ask. "Pyrve is my final choice," he would announce, and his team was formed. Pyrrhus would spend the rest of the eve with his new team, getting to know them/try to bond with them since they would be working together for the rest of the tournament.

The next few days felt like a blur as the competition really began. Their first trial as a team would be holding their breath in frigid waters, though it was not so simple. They had to contend with the other team trying to get them to give up first; in the resulting competition and struggle, he and Lady Penninah would lose first. Thankfully, his team would pull through; the final three to get their breaths was the rest of his team; Penninah being a bit unlucky with Svafnir and Thyra not counting, but they did participate and Alois was the one who held his breath the longest regardless. The next trial was a series of matches that pitted dragonling against dragonling. His first opponent was Lady Penninah, as the fates seemed content to make them constantly battle between one another. It would be a hard won fight, but Pyrrhus would defeat Lady Penninah. However, he would lose to Svafnir in a subsequent match. Pyrve had come close as well, defeating Thyra, but she would be defeated by Natigai. Despite the overall loss, Pyrrhus was still having fun with being able to fight his fellow dragonlings. The next trial would be a boulder tossing competition, in which he and Penninah were neck and neck, but Alois brought them to victory by tossing his the farthest. This brought them to be tied with Lady Penninah's team, and with 3 trials left things would be intense. Celebrating the victory with his team, he would praise them all for their performance for the last few; even with the loss of the fighting competition, they did not make it easy.
[Timeskip]
Awaking early, despite being told they would not have a super early start, Pyrrhus would do a short workout of push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, and other stretches to get ready for the day. He had a fire in his soul to do his best to lead his team to victory. Taking a quick shower after, he would join the rest of the students for breakfast in the eating area. He would get himself a simple meal and eat contentedly with his team. "Lets do our best. I believe in all of you," he would say as simple words of encouragement as Sinn would have them set off. Following Sinn's advice, he would only bring his sword along with a simple water bottle. They would walk at a much more relaxed pace than usual; Pyrrhus being used to there being far walks to the trials so perhaps this was closer. His hunch was proven true as after not long they would arrive in a vast meadow; a rather beautiful place though it gave him no indication of what they would be doing. He would continue to lead them deep into the meadow, stopping eventually at a seemingly random spot before he would address them and say he was proud of them working well together as teams. The stoic figure even smiled too; strange to see on someone so weathered and serious, but welcome. He would announce they had three trials left, and that the last would wake place here. He would then reach into the tall flower/grass field, and pull out something that looked like a dragon skull with ropes attached to its horns that went to either side. He would announce they would be playing a game of tug of war. 'This is going to be fun,' Pyrrhus thought with a smile, especially since it would be a simple competition to pull it with nothing else. He would walk around and set up markers previously hidden in the field before telling them to pick their sides and get ready as he would signal the start. A question sprang to Pyrrhus' mind so he asked swiftly. "Are we allowed to use our semblances?" he would ask with Sinn giving a simple no. With that clarification out of the way, Pyrrhus would have his team head to the right side to set up. Upon reaching the rope, he would turn to his team. "Alright, I shall take the front. Alois, you are the next strongest so you should be behind me. Narkyena you'll be next followed by Pyrve. Since you'll be able to see all of us Pyrve, I am counting on you to help advise or correct to keep us steady and pulling our best. Sound good for positioning or do you think we should switch it a bit?" he would speak his suggestion of ordering and ask if they had any alternatives. If not, they would go with what he suggested. If a majority spoke for a different positioning, he would concede to it. Either way, they would get ready and take positions for the competition. Looking over to the enemy team, he would smile and speak up. "I hope you all are ready to eat dirt," he would call out competitively. Holding onto the rope with both hands, Pyrrhus would wait till Sinn said begin before he would pull as hard as he could. ♞ Post count: 36 ☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀.☀ ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄

Without much more to discuss, the young Vacuo woman would begin her descent down the same side she had climbed up. The simple way was hardly the most entertaining in her mind. Besides, she had missed this exertion that reminded her of home. Depending on who followed her lead, she would be considering them."I need to tell Rosa,"She thought, the climb down being second nature to her.

Back at the temple, Peninnah cursed softly from losing at Roshambo (as she knew it) to he knight of olde and waved to the group before disappearing to where Sinn had told her the invalids were. Closing the door behind her, she would walk over first to her cousin to whom she would squeeze his shoulder in a comforting greeting before walking towards her sister's unconscious form. Her brows scrunched together and she could feel her chest tighten as she frowned and sat to her sister's left. Taking her hand in both of hers with a gentle squeeze, she smiled weakly. Remembering something the Maylis Elders said once, how the unconscious could still hear."She will wake...Won't she,"She thought, she hoped...Clearing her throat, she'd begin."Ro, I hope you wake soon...and that you can hear me,"Pen started, feeling awkward, but continued holding Rosa's hand in her own."Damn it! I won't cry! She's not dead, you idiot,"She scolded herself; trying to keep strain from her voice as she spoke."Today marked the first challenge. We hiked a short distance before Thyra and Nirie seemed to just collapse...Sinn protected them though, but they should be alright by tomorrow...Myself and the rest then raced up a tall mountain!...I got first place, and the first thought I had was...that I couldn't wait to tell you...The other competitors, they were close though,"Peninnah explained excitedly, maybe not the best at it. Crimson eyes looked to her sister's face, hoping for any sign of recognition, any that she had heard her older sister at all.
Swallowing to help loosen the tightness from the fist in her throat, Peni pushed on."At the top...Sir Pyrrhus and I were the first two...And Sinn hit us with the so-called prize..of being leaders for the next challenge. If you were awake, you know I would choose you and Nirie in a heartbeat...I wish you would wake up soon,"she said, her voice soft now as she pushed back tears and brought her sister's limp hand to her lips before resting it to her forehead, her elbows supported on the bed. She knew she wasn't the smartest, or the most patient; those qualities were her Gentle sister's qualities she both highly admired and disliked at the same time, but knew they were necessary to balance hers and Svaf's brawniness and impatience."I wouldn't want to do this without you...And to tell you the truth, I'm nervous...You know me, I'm a warrior...What if...What if I'm...I'm not cut out for being a leader?...What if I fail?"Peninnah took a deep breath after admitting such a fear and biting her lip before wiping away tears that were beginning to trickle down her cheeks."I love you, Ro. And I don't think I can live without you...Please, wake soon,"Peninnah pleaded as her body quietly quivered.
She would then get up and talk with Svafnir and Thyra both since they seemed they would be well enough before she told them to rest until dinner.
That Evening at Dinner
Peninnah had composed herself after a bath and joined Pyrrhus with Sinn to discuss teammates; scales the color of desert red sand were more prominent along her spine, sides, and faint markings on her arms as she entered in a tanktop and black shorts."Strong choice,"Pen nodded in approval of Sir Pyrrhus' first choice. Looking around the room, she would wave briefly to her cousin as he was the first to enter before Thyra."I choose Svafnir."Pen said with affirmation; having thought of this as carefully as she usually would. And on and on they chose until she got her last teammate; Thyra. Smirking slightly, her mind was on the challenges ahead.
Once chosen, she bowed her head to the tall knight and wished him luck with a sincere smile. Silently agreeing to split to speak with their new teams before heading to bed that night. [Chance to socialize here?]

Pen woke before the sun again in the coming days; though cursed the first challenge to high skies as it was cold-related. Her weakness had cost her team as she was sluggish."Burning Sands!! We can still do this."The petite warrior's competitive streak warred with her good-spirits. In the evenings though, she would spend a bit of free time to inform her little sister of the day with hopes on her getting better. Trial 3 had to have been her favorite though. Both had given a good fight...but, a shot of momentary pain she would hide got her on the ground."I will get you next time. Count on it,"Pen said as she accepted the hand and stood with a nod of respect to her ally and opponent. Trial 3 was her teams' in the end.
Trial 4 was a show of strength once more...but, even when they had not won, she would not scorn them, but rather, tell them to not lose the fires she saw burning in all of them. It was honestly exciting her, in the moment; hope and the memory of home events like these ones keeping her own fires stoked. They were neck and neck now, by the time she looked at the scores. All the while, she was trying to ignore the pain (and sometimes blood) from scales and change in eyesight...
~~Timeskip~~
The next morning, the petite dragonling would get up and clean herself off as usual outside before going for a climb in the tallest tree near the shrine before bathing and then join the others in the dining hall; clean, but well-kept. Sitting down with a plate of nuts, a couple meats, and Vacuo pancakes."We are ready for this."Pen affirmed in her mind before turning to her teammates with a smile. Hoping that they slept better than she had the night before. It was while on the walk (if no one addressed her) that she allowed her mind to wander until Sinn stopped in a meadow...a tall one at that. For three of her teammates including herself it was huge, but it didn't matter as much as the announcement their teacher gave. Looking to Pyrrhus, she would then turn her attentions to the rope and (hopefully) get everyone to agree to their appointed positions."I'll take front. Nirie you take center, Pistol (Thyra) take rear, and Nati behind me,"She instructed with a firm yet warm tone before looking to the opposing team's cocky leader."How about you tell me how it tastes instead,"She shot back. Once in position and ready both teams pulled; grips on the rope and ground firm."Let's do this! And have fun,"She called to her team with confidence...

His two teammates were given their prize. They were meant to be there own leaders! In charge of their own teams. Alois couldn't help but smile at them both. It was the opportunity of leadership that was earned. It made him reflect on his own title and position within HHCC. He certainly hasn't been showing the aptitude of the leader of a team. And he began to wonder if he ever has. Was he thrown into this position just because? He had a lot to think about, but it wasn't about him right now. They had some trials to finish and he had to see it through. Thoroughly. Upon returning, Alois quietly excused himself to bath before he eats. He doesn't do this often, but he decided to take a bath. He rinses off before steeping himself in the hot water. He takes a wash towel and soak it before placing it over his eyes as he let out a sigh. "Now's not the time to be kickin' your own a**, clown." he seethes to himself. He takes a deep breath and just enjoys the bath. He retreats from the bath and dries off and makes sure his hair didn't get too wet. It wasn't time to wash it yet. Next week, but not today. He wraps a towel around his waist and drapes one around his neck before heading to his room. He dresses himself in a black hoodie and purple sweatpants before joining everyone for dinner.
The teams were made and everything was settled. Alois sits at the table with his hood up eating and enjoying his time with his new "team" Pyrrhus, Narkeyna and Pyrve. From the corner of his eye he notices Peninnah coming from, presumably, Rosa's room. He stands and wipes his mouth on his sleeve before he approaches her. "Peninnah." he says flatly. With his hands in his waist pouch in his hoodie he approaches her calmly. "I have a few things I'd like to say to you." Alois stares at her for a few seconds before continuing in case she wanted to acknowledge his request. "Firstly, I wanted to say I'm proud that both members of our team finished first during the previous trial." After her response he will follow with, "Secondly, I presume you went to see you sister, Rosa. How is she?" he asks from genuine concern. They were all here because they were all something called Dragonkin or something like that. So, on top of them all being in the same predicament he was concerned for his teammates family and how she was feeling. "You and I may not always see eye to eye, but you are someone... I want to look out for. How is she and how are you?" he asks.
Alois speaks from a sibling perspective. He was separated from his sister for years and it tore him apart. Even watching Thyra have a small cold gets him on edge because he doesn't like his sister to suffer in the slightest. So he understands how Peninnah may be feeling. After her response to that he'll giver her a slight smile and say, "Thirdly, I look forward to kicking your a**. Not as your leader, but as a member of Team Pyrrhus. Enjoy your dinner." he walks back to his team with a wave. After a good meal and and good nights sleep it was time for the trials. Before he turns in he checks on his sister and brings her some extra food because... well, because, she's Thyra.
~~~~~TIMESKIP~~~~
The first trail of the day was a battle of endurance and will: breath holding. Pyrrhus and Peninnah were the first two out. Following them were, respectively, Svafnir, Natigai, Thyra, Narkyena, Pyrve. The cold waters were starting to affect Alois, but he pressed on. He'd been through worse and he was going to be the most effective teammate he could be. After all, being stubborn as a bull and having it's endurance were some of his good points. He reached his limit and finally came up for air. With a great gasp he coughs up a bit of water and looks around as he wipes his mouth and eyes. "Did we win?" he asked between breaths. Turns out they did and he lasted the longest. He smiled at himself as he said, "I wasn't supposed to wash my hair until next week." That night he was taken to Sinn's room for a private lesson. Alois swore to keep the contents between the both of them.
The next trial was a tournament. Something Alois was excited for, but was short lived as he lost his first match against Natigai. He wanted to fight Svafnir so badly. Not only because he thought it would be a good match, but because he kept him up and distracted from the moon the first time they met. The b*****d. The fourth trial was a bolder tossing competition. Alois welcomed the challenge. He felt as if his output was better than the average student so gave an arrogant toothy grin. Going last, he stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders. He stretches his back properly hearing a few pops and shakes his hands off. Al takes off his jacket and ties it around his waist. Gritting his teeth and gripping the boulder, he lifts in up with veins throbbing and pulsing. With a grunt of effort he lifts it and and nestles it between his neck and shoulder as best he could. With more effort, he spins and pivots on his feet as if he doing a shotput and with a yell he launches the boulder as far as he could. Which turns out to be further than everyone. Granting Team Pyrrhus another win. He pumps his arms in celebration.
The day of the fifth trial, he had a small, but satisfactory breakfast. Everyone strolled to a beautiful field and stopped there. Even though Alois prefers the still and dark of night, he enjoys the view before him. Sinn announces this is where the next trial will take place. Tug o' war. That's the trial. Get the skull in the middle of the rope past the opposing teams marker and you win. Simple as that. Alois listened to Pyhrrus' plan and had just one thing to add. "It would probably be better for the team if I were to take the rear. Because of my strength I could act as an anchor." Alois took his position and waits for the signal. He wrings his hands on the rope until he hears the signal and pulls as hard as he can while gritting his teeth.
