Oh man, there was this one time... Prompt reply: Bellatrix stared into the eyes of her leader as he spoke. Her instructions for the day to come were quite clear. Go beyond their borders for a week and try not to die. To protect anyone who needs protecting. And kill any who need to be killed. It had been a tradition among the members of the herd for generations, and each new member was expected to complete it. Her leader finished his speech and she was permitted to leave. With a quick bow of her head, she parted to try and find a place where she could meditate for the night.
Trix found a nice glade to meditate alone in as the night began. It was nice, she supposed. She couldn't really ask for any better before a long journey. There was a slight breeze, and the night was cool. The slight rustling of leaves could be heard in the distance, probably some ground squirrel settling in for the night. She breathed in the calm, and tried to blow all her nerves out with the trained steady breath her tribe had taught her. There was no telling what she might see or find on her trial. It was why warriors were given this night of solitude, to give them one last night of calm before their venture into the unknown lands.
Trix's ear twitched as the rustling started up again. A little louder, and closer this time. Annoyed, she grit her teeth and jumped the bush that held the perpetrator. "Alvar!" She hissed in a whisper so that no other passerbys would know she was not alone. "What are you doing here!? I'm trying to have my night alone before my trial. You being here could already fail me before I begin!"
Alvar winced as she tightened the headlock she had on him. "I--I know. I just thought you could use some company to ease your nerves." Trix let him go, mainly so he could see the scowl on her face. "I don't need you to calm me. Our ancestors have been doing this secluded night alone without your help or anyone else since before we were born." Alvar paused, scuffing his hoof lightly on the ground. "Yeah, but.... I wanted to see you. I never really got a chance to say goodbye yet."
Bellatrix blew out a breath. As much as she wanted to remain faithful to the rules of the tribe, she was a little happy to see the fool she called friend. She had to remain stern with him though. If she didn't, he might still be here when the tribe leader came to start the parting ceremony. "Well, you've said goodbye. Is there anything else you want to say?" Alvar opened his mouth for a moment, then shut it as he shook his head. He stood there staring at the ground as Bellatrix stared at him. Trix sighed and gave up. It was still a peacful night, and even with him here, she could still try to meditate a little.
They both stood there in silence for a while. Alvar nervous, not knowing what to say. While Bella just relaxed and tried to enjoy the silence. Silence that was suddenly broken with Alvar's quiet question. "are you nervous?" Trix gave a soft scoff. "Of course I'm nervous! What kind of question is that?" She looked over to him and saw that he hadn't even lifted his head to look at her. He really was worried he'd never see her again, she guessed. "Look, I'll make sure to come back, okay? I'll even bring you back something if you want."
That got a little smile out of him. "You know you were never good at finding anything without my help." He replied. "But, if you think you can, you can try and find me an apple." Trix scowled again. "I don't need your help finding anything! And why in the world would you want an apple? We've got plenty of them here. And by the time I bring it back, it could be rotten." Alvar got a little twinkle in his eye at that moment. "Well, if you don't think you can do it, thats fine by me. I was going to have a whole basket full of them for when you return. And I figured we could see who had the best apple. But, I guess if you don't think----" "Of course I can do it!" She interrupted, her voice going slightly over the whisper she had maintained this whole time. "I'll find you your apple, don't you worry. Now get out of here before someone sees you."
Alvar nodded and smiled. She seemed like her old self again. He knew she could do it, and now she didn't look so tense. He left without saying anything more and left her alone in the glade. Trix gave one last scoff as she heard his steps faint into the distance. "The nerve of that guy. I'll get your damn apple, just you see." And then it hit her. He had some how eased her nerves and pumped her up for her journey at the same time. Trixz shook her head, amazed at his ability. She smiled and whispered again "I'll find your apple." And with that, took in a deep breath and continued with her nights meditation.

Beauty is only skin deep! Mare Personality: Being raised among a herd of warriors gave Maeve a strong code to live by. Though smaller in stature than many of her herdmates she learned how to use her smaller size to her advantage quickly, being able to stay light on her feet meant she could dodge many attacks and then dart in to strike her opponent. She may be small but she has many strengths. She is quick and agile in battle, she has a sharp mind and is good at reading others, and she has also taken up being a healer as a secondary was of helping out the herd. This way whether they are in a time of peace or war she always has something to contribute. She looks forward to teaching the younger generation what she was learning to help pass on the herds traditions. Stallion Personality: Delari grew up not entirely taking to the warriors way. He had little desire to fight and complained that his bright colored coat gave him away when they were training. But try as he might he just couldn't seem to avoid it. While not a warrior in his heart he was always helping others out when they got into dangerous situations, often changing the odds and saving lives. Because of this he quickly rose among the ranks and became a respected warrior. Though he prefers to not call himself a warrior he does take great pride in helping to protect his family and herd and now couldn't see himself being anything else. Besides being a protector Delari is very in tune with the lands around him and uses this knowledge to benefit the herd. To strangers he can be a bit aloof but once he knows that they are no threat then he will treat them like he has known them his whole life. Prize Preference: Mare, Stallion

Beauty is only skin deep! Mare Personality: Nylea doesn't always seem like she's a warrior type. She's strong-minded and intelligent, that's certain, but rather than going straight into battle, she needs to examine all possible outcomes of a situation, before making her move. As a foal, she would apply this method to everything she did. She was also good at using this trait against others. If one of her parents was trying to get her to do something she was against doing, she would often turn to them and roll a million other possibilities to the situation, and then suggest they pick a different outcome, then the one they were trying to force upon her. Because of this, she was labeled as a fairly difficult foal. However, there is a perk to this quirk of hers: She is very good at dealing with battle tactics, and selecting the most promising result. Sometimes others listen to her, sometimes they don't, but she'll always give her opinion, and so far, she's always been right. Stallion Personality: As a Flutter, it was expected from others of his herd that Malakai would be unable to perform as a fighting warrior. Boy, did he teach his herd a thing or two. He was a natural fighter at heart, and through longer hours of training that the other foals, he was taught by an older Usdia how to fight just as hard as a regular sized stallion. Additionally, he began to push himself harder when it came to growing and shrinking. It was beyond tiring, and he was prone to collapsing during training sessions because of it, but he was up and going the next day, determined to show the others in his herd that he wasn't weak, despite being a Flutter. Now that he's an adult, he can sustain his growth or shrinking powers more than he used to, and it no longer tires him as often. He is still as ambitious as ever, determined to prove that he's a worthy warrior to all and any that come across him. Recently, he's thought to leave his herd for a bit, to go and witness new lands and herds. Like the Flutter he is, he will go wherever the wind takes him. Prize Preference: Stallion, Mare
