Anyone that knew Leto knew all too well that she would be in the House of Mirrors when the carnival opened. Well... Sort of. While she was oblivious to the plots of Painite, she would never turn down the opportunity to play with a few civilians surrounded by the one thing she reveled in.
Quinn had gone to the carnival earlier in the day to scope out the grounds and make herself aware of any and all mirrors that she may need to travel through, just for this purpose alone. Now Eternal Sailor Leto slipped through the mirror in her living room immediately after powering up and lingered in the familiar cold, whiteness of mirrorspace. Then, placing a palm on one of the giant mirrors, the glass rippled under her fingertips and she was able to hear the muffled voices of people in the House of Mirrors.
Apparently her play-things were ready and waiting for her... Then maybe later she'd get herself a corndog to celebrate her victories.

Paris snickered into his beer and tried to weigh the pros and cons of letting Chris snap back, but inevitably decided that allowing this to devolve into even more of a childish display than it'd already become would probably not be a very good idea. Pascal he'd only known all of two minutes and could therefore not predict any subsequent reactions, but Chris he had far more experience with. He knew better than to let him get so riled up.
He didn't bother to mask his amusement, but he reached over to Chris all the same and slid a comforting hand up under Chris's baseball tee.
“You're so cute when you're all worked up,” he teased, and kept his hand there for the time being, sliding it over to the opposite side to cirlce his arm around Chris's waist as they walked.
It was an innocent enough gesture, just enough of the skin-on-skin contact that always seemed to help Chris calm down without being terribly lewd.
Not that he had anything against being lewd.
“If I'd known there was going to be a contest, I'd have untucked mine before coming all the way out here,” he announced, loud and proud and not really caring how far his voice happened to carry, or that he had revealed a bit of previously unknown information in the process. He didn't always make a point of advertising these things, but when he did he typically made sure it resulted in a bit of entertainment for him.
“God, I'm awful,” the tone of his voice was anything but apologetic with the follow-up, his smile wide as he took another large swig of beer. “I promise I can be classy. Jeezus, look at this line. I should have gotten some food first. I'd be done with it before we actually got on the ride.”
Eyeing Chris to see how he was doing, Paris nodded to the beer Chris had neither drank nor gotten rid of. “Don't dump that. If you're not going to drink it, I want it.”

Chris wanted to snap back. He wanted to tell Pascal to mind his own business and leave them alone. To tell him to shut up about the mechanics of the ride to people who probably didn’t even care, or already knew enough about mechanics and engineering to have been there, done that.
But two things stopped him. One was Paris’s hand suddenly under his tee-shirt. Yes, tee-shirt. Instead of his typical polo and khakis, he’d been convinced to wear jeans and a tee-shirt that night. It was a decision he’d originally fussed about, but no longer minded since Paris seemed to enjoy seeing him in such casual clothing.
Two... was the look on Zia’s face. He’d only turned around to shoot a snarky comment back at Pascal when he saw her tense up. He didn’t even realize the tension in her shoulders was caused by the strangling of her purse strap, but it was enough to have him shutting up.
Yes, he was still a bit perplexed why Pascal was suddenly there when he had been the one to invite his best friend to go to the carnival with him, but now that Paris was with them, he... regrettably figured it was only fair that she had someone with her, too...
Nevertheless, both Paris’s calming gesture and Chris’s desire to make sure Zia was happy had him keeping quiet. At least until he sputtered in surprise at Paris’s comment. Actually, no... it wasn’t that surprising, but he wasn’t exactly prepared to have this kind of discussion.
“I’m not,” he all but pouted, reaching his free arm around Paris’s shoulders if only because it was awkward to walk without doing so. Despite Zia’s feigned (or what he could only assume was feigned after knowing her for so long) cheerfulness, Chris couldn’t help but glance her way every so often.

Trevor managing to keep close to her slowed to a walk and glanced at her and then back behind them. He wasn't sure what was going on but it seemed like something had struck up some serious commotion. He on the other was too focused on getting around the maze that he ignored any noises. At the same wondering what had caused it.
Once he had caught up with Lily outside the exit to the House of Mirrors he nodded his head agreeing with her " that seems to be the case, but im sure the others will find their way out" he said. He glanced at the rides she wanted to try out " how about i get the panda of yours before we hit the rides" he suggested. He grinned lightly at her " im not sure yet, but im sure we'll figure it out" he told her.

Unlike Cora, Ainsley couldn't sense any energy signals but Cora was fluffed up so much from it that she looked like a furry porcupine and it made it kind of hard not to have her attention drawn to the cat. She couldn't imagine what was wrong but she ran her hand softly over the guardian cat's back in a reassuring manner. If Cora was scared then perhaps they could try and get over their fears together? She looked up at the wheel with consideration, watching as they unloaded passangers.
"We could attempt to but you'll have to be as still as possible," she said softly. She might have elaborated but she certainly didn't need to explain such reasons to Cora.
It was hard to take what he was saying seriously when he almost lead with the sentence 'death by pastry' but she wasn't about to let him win their banter. She would go along with it and probably not stop until a little after he did.
"Very well, I'll await for the night you got down on one knee and asked me to be your very special pie taster," she said complete with cheerful laugh. What a dream, right? Simply heavenly. She could pick out an outfit, something blue, and borrow one of her mother's spoons. How perfect, right? Simply!
"I can definitely approve of us starting with you holding your guts in. I will be sorely disappointed if you don't at least give me that tonight Noah. Those that don't call me Officer Walter, or threaten me with pie, refer to me as Nick." She said contently. She certainly wasn't about to tell him what her mother called him but at leas the playing field was even. She wouldn't know this now but Noah certainly wasn't all Robert was called either. Pascal didn't say anything because he didn't need to. No matter how much Zia might jest, he certainly knew better. However, Paris' comment was certainly new. His eyes fell on Paris, as if really taking a good look, before what Paris said clicked in. He didn't say anything. His expression might have shifted a bit but frankly it looked more like he was deep in thought than shocked. You could say he was speechless as he took a moment to gauge the situation.
He came to the conclusion that Paris made an excellent cross dresser because he wouldn't even have guessed. Satisfied with his assessment, it was then that Pascal couldn't help but look at Chris. However, instead of saying anything he simply smiled. He smiled and continued to smile until his head turned away to look where Zia was pulling him as they ran toward the line but even then he was smiling.

No amount of grinding his teeth offset the sudden jolt of irritation instigated by the corrupted senshi patting him on the back. Nothing quelled his inward rage, seething through his mind and threatening to torch his thoughts in malice. Bischofite glossed over Mica's words, lost in the inward turmoil provoked by the new arrival. How could someone so irreverent and idiotic be a part of this operation? He couldn't conceive of an adequate reason to induct this dolt into the Negaverse. Perhaps they suffered so severely from a lack of manpower that they found it acceptable to draft idiotic senshi.
The more he tried to avoid thinking about it, the more he boiled over it. Finally Bischofite lashed out, in an attempt to backhand Typhon across the face. "How about I start wis' ripping his starseed out?" Perhaps he'd receive a medal for quashing rampant idiocy in the Negaverse. The action sounded worthwhile despite any repercussions he'd invoke.
For a moment he considered powering down and having a smoke, but he'd prefer subjecting himself to thumb screws than allowing Typhon to witness his identity.
Perhaps he should subject Typhon to thumb screws instead. A noteworthy idea. The thought coaxed an iniquitous smile out of him. The night was still young; who knew what might happen in the confusion and chaos spawned by their actions? He couldn't be held responsible if any misfortunes befell the corrupted senshi.
He didn't have any more time to torment the new arrival; Painite's cue would come soon and he wanted to be ready for it.Sirsce was happy to listen to Gwen's stories of her younger days. "Wow, you must've been a handful!" Idly she wondered if Gwen made it her mission to get hurt everyday when she was a child. "I know how you must've felt though... Lately I've been getting hurt a lot too!" She grimaced inwardly; falling off of buildings, landing in dumpsters, and hitting her head on sewer piping resulted in more than just light scrapes and bruises sometimes. She must be the worst senshi in the world when it came to staying safe. She also frowned when she heard Gwen's explanation of their visit there. She hadn't thought of it that way before; they really were looking at imprisoned animals. "Um, I guess this really is animal jail in here." Maybe they did something wrong? She couldn't fathom animals becoming a part of the Negaverse, but that remained her only reasoning behind animals held in captivity like this. "Well, um, I'm off to see the bear! Hope you feel better!" She waved emphatically and offered a smile toward the hurt girl before following Gwen toward the bear's large cage. However, once she realized the size of the animal, she edged behind the shorter girl. "Ooh, Gwen, he's huge..." She stared sheepishly at the size chart offered on the bear's plaque. "I didn't know bears got that big." Were there youma the size of bears? That could pose even more of a problem than the Negaverse agents she ran into occasionally. How were senshi to fight against bear-youma? They'd simply get mauled to death. Hopefully no bear-youma existed. Maybe. She wouldn't hold her breath over it. "Um, I hope he doesn't like, come out and eat us." She hoped everyone looked awfully unappetizing; she couldn't bear watching someone die via a bear mauling, especially new friends.

“Thank you” Arian said quietly. Although for the most part he tended to keep his long locks in a simple braid, his hair was one of Arian’s few vanities and he took the time to keep it in good condition. He was impressed as between them Gwen and Orah managed to patch up Hayley’s cut and couldn’t help the slight smile when Sirsce drew a smiley face on the napkin that was acting as a tourniquet. Part of him wondered whether he should keep some band aids handy himself, but that was perhaps a thought for another night. And then Hayley started haranguing Gwen and Orah, he hung back a bit as the others moved towards the bear. “You know it’s customary to be a little more grateful when people are kind enough to help out like that.” There was a frostiness to the quiet words that he addressed towards Hayley – he hadn’t liked the way she’d harangued his friends like that – and after he said his piece Arian followed after the others. He reached in time to see Sirsce’s statement about the bear being huge “He is big isn’t he” he agreed quietly, although for all he knew said bear could be a she bear rather than a he bear. “But then again mayhaps that’s normal – aren’t bears supposed to get pretty big? -------------------------------------------------------------- Marlin had no idea what the mirror trick was supposed to be either, although he was pretty sure that whatever it was, whatever Ricky was doing was not it.
He had been about to say something in response to Ricky’s question, but his train of thought was briefly interrupted by another blond – one that appeared to know the boy that had introduced himself as Isha turned up. If the way that Isha had taken off after the upset blond was an indication he knew the blond too.
“Well we can either follow after those two” he indicated the direction that he thought that the blond boy (Scott) and Isha had taken to the kid (Eliza) and Ricky “Or try another route and hope that it leads out to the exit.”
Marlin kind of assumed that the kid would probably want to follow after Isha, having come to the assumption (erroneous or not) that the pair had been together.

Scott knew that he had a short temper and he knew that he was likely overreacting to the whole ordeal. He wanted to stop and apologize to Isha for snapping like that and storming out... but then he remembered that he was only trying to help and it was brushed off so easily! Of course his offer to help was subtle... painfully subtle, but still, there was only so much he could do.
If he had a clearer head on his shoulders, and maybe a pair of brass balls, he'd take Isha up on his offer and leave this whole ordeal to the willing. But again, orders were orders. Maybe he could get away with doing relatively little, just so long as he claimed to be trying his best? What proof would they have anyway?
But he wasn't willing to take that chance. When Isha caught up with him, he worked even harder to get away, and he had managed to find a passageway that read 'Employees Only'. Without thinking, he pushed his way through, forcing himself quiet and looking for a place to transform, away from the prying eyes of Isha and others. He just wanted this stupid night to be over with. Cooro Cooro He's got to go get ready for the big show, so he's going to try to make himself scarce. "Trust me, just... don't eat it." Buddingtonite warned, and this was a lot, coming from a guy that once took on an Eternal (foolishly so) and asked Titan to throw him at a building. As curious as Buddingtonite was to see if they tasted like candy, he remembered Benitoite's warning, and trusted him. And for Buddingtonite, that was enough. "It'll be for the best to just collect them, never consume."
When it came to what the plan was, though, Buddingtonite wasn't that positive on every single detail, and he was more keen on playing by ear. However, given that he was the highest ranking officer here, even if only freshly new, he suspected that taking charge would be expected of him. And it was never a good move to let the higher ups down.
"The goal here is to collect as many starseeds and energy orbs as we can, while being aware of any White Moon presence. Normally, Amethyst and I would be scouting for recruits, but that's going to take a back seat in this mission. There's simply no time and as great as it would be to lure them in to bolster our forces, none of us possess the power needed to do such a thing. Though, if you see someone who might show promise... spare them and keep note of them. But only if you feel as though you can handle it."
Then he looked to Titan, his question simple. "We're going to need your muscle. A guy like you will likely scare the pants right off of them... think you can keep the act of menacing warrior up for us?"((The rest will be added later))

As soon as he had caught up with Scott, the other disappeared from sight. It was as if he had simply vanished. Now, it seemed that he was alone once again, though this time, it did not feel as exciting as it did before. On the contrary, it hurt pretty badly, but what could he do? It was not as if he could find Scott, not at this point in time, and especially not if he did not wish to be found.
With a soft sigh, Isha pressed his left hand against the mirror, slowly, but certainly working on his escape. He didn't really feel like doing anything anymore. Perhaps it was time to go home. But this huge ol' house of mirrors, who knew how long it would take to get out.

Letting Sirce take up Gwen's attention, Orah hung back with Arian and walked with him towards the animal cages. Haley's question about imprisoned animals made her uncomfortable, but rather than let herself be pulled into an even more uncomfortable discussion, she angled herself to put Arian between her and Haley and simply offered a wave as she followed her friends.
The bear, when they got to it, was certainly big, but... that was normal for a bear, right? She heard her thought echoed and offered Arian a smile.
"I think it depends on the type of beat. Some, like sun bears, are just a bit larger than a big dog. Grizzlies get really big though. I think Polar Bears are the largest and can be bigger than a man." Don't quote her on it though... she only knew what she had heard second hand. You know... Sirsce nodded thankfully toward Orah and Arian. It was comforting to know that this bear wasn't some gargantuan monstrosity, but on the other hand, she wasn't sure how she felt about bears normally growing to this size. It seemed... Excessive. And what if he escaped? He could totally just maul a few people in no time and probably bowl down dozens in a furious rampage. She shuddered at the thought, then realized others might see her, so she played it off as a shiver.
"I'm glad you two know so much about bears, but... I'm even more glad that there's cages between us and them." Maybe Hayley's protests about caging animals held some truth to it. Wouldn't they want to get back at the world for holding them captive for so long? If she was in their position, she would.
Then again, if she was a bear or a tiger, she'd also want to show people how soft and fluffy she was, and see how many pettings she could acquire before her owner caught her and forced her back into the cage. Maybe she'd maul the owner then, but she'd want him to live. Sirsce's eyes glazed over while she considered the options of tiger-Sirsce internally.
Finally she snapped back to reality when she heard a distinctly metallic clang, and then the steel cage doors slowly swung open with a groan. "Uh oh..." She whispered, frozen in fear and realization.((and that wraps it up for her here!))

Titan full bowed back to the other lieutenant's greeting, "You can call me Titan, it is shorter. " Hearing Buddingtonite's question, though it was both inquiry and compliment, he gave a nod of confidence, "I will be a solid. If our enemy comes, I will stand before them." And it will be my duty to break them.No questions asked, no quarter given. (( going to switch into the dedicated thread now...))

Sailor Typhon "Sounds good, Captain," Typhon nodded to Captain Mica with the order to energy drain civilians at Painite's cue. But as soon as he spoke, Lieutenant Bischofite had a different, more violent reaction. Typhon caught the backhand hit just in time to block it with his wrist. "Easy there, hothead." He looked at the Captain for a comment on the other Lieutenant's strike, but just shrugged it off. He didn't really want to deal with his crap. "I'll get into a position and see you both when the fun begins," Typhon added as he backed away. He couldn't resist at least one more dig to Bischofite, however. "Just keep the focus on the enemy, and not each other, okay buddy?" And after a sweet little flip of his middle finger towards the lieutenant accompany his farewell, he turned to get ready to ambush the roller coaster. Do not eat a starseed at all cost. Alright, point taken. It wasn't as if Amethyst would have access to one unless he incidentally stumbled upon the methodology behind acquiring one or someone chose to show him at some point so that particular point made was kind of moot in a way. For now that is.
Returning Titan's bow with one in kind, he turned to salute Buddingtonite before shifting his gaze to those below them who were still unaware of their presence. "Aye, Captain." It wouldn't be long now before the actual festivities began.
