With the Carnival in full swing, Painite saw her chance to start the fun. And what was phase one, exactly?

Youma.

Youma everywhere.

She had been gathering them for some time, with help from others, and they had begun to gather on their own. Maybe all the chaos in the air, the promise of so many helpless sources of food and starseeds gathered in one place, was as tantalizing to them as it was to Painite herself. Whatever the case, they were there, and they were chomping at the bit.

It took a few little teleportations from the General to encourage and herd the youma out of the surrounding forest and their hiding places, but the monsters soon made themselves known as they charged into the carnival, spilling into every area, from the entrance to the farthest corners of the rides and the picnic areas. Even the lake did not seem youma free.

The General took a moment to admire the sudden hellish terror that burst forward as people realized this was not some gimmick from the carnival itself. She gripped her communication crystal, and then sent out a message to all the Negaverse soldiers in the area.

"Bring me all of their starseeds. Take every ounce of energy you can. Use the youma as your distractions: drain this place dry."

Let the games begin! With the youma running wild and the exits sealed, the carnival is at the mercy of Chaos! It is up to the White Moon and anyone brave enough to rise up to do what they can to spare some lives. Chaos, your goals remain the same: there is no hiding here, no need for subtlety. Painite wants everyone to let loose. You can consider that an order.

Show them your power, whatever side you fight for!

I've done my best to make the games interesting and prompt fun RP! I don't know how well everything will work so if there are any issues or concerns please PM me, as I can never think of everything!

The Games Boardwalk:
The youma have not failed to reach the boardwalk, and all of its fun games. They are hiding amongst the stalls, and it is up to the White Moon to find them and make sure they do not hurt any one else. Chaos is sure to take advantage of this, of course, and make any rescue of civilians difficult, to say the least. The youma are popping up from the game stalls, as if echoing one of the most popular arcade games: whack a mole. An infuriatingly lethal version, to say the least.

Please wait five rolls from other players between your own rolls! (or an hour, if there are not that many rolls.) You may roll as many times as is possible until the next prompt!

Civilians: Randomize between 1 and 5. An Even number means you have gotten too near a game with a youma hiding in it, and have been pulled inside! Randomize between 1 and 5 again. An Even number will set you free, if a senshi does not free you first!

Order: Randomize between 1 and 10. If you roll an even number, and a civilian or fellow senshi is in danger, you may help free them! If not, you have found one of the youma and can attack it! A 10 would allow for a youma to be dusted. Odd numbers mean a youma attacks you!

Chaos: Randomize a number between 1 and 20. The higher the number, the more effective your attack is, or the higher amount of energy you drain. Anything over a 16 can result in a starseed being pulled!

Please keep a running tally of you rolls!

Dana Caffrey had entered the carnival screaming and squawking about absent sisters and had been on something of a sullen mission to find Lydia and tell her Evelyn wasn't coming. Stupid Evelyn. Stupid Lydia. She didn't know why Evie couldn't just ditch work or call her herself, but whatever.

When the attack hit, she wasted no time finding somewhere to power up and running into the fray. She wasn't sure if she was horrified or excited, since the chibi senshi Columba hadn't seen much action, and youma popping out of games? That was kind of awesome.

Except she did have a mission of sorts here. She still had to find Lydia, even if rescue wasn't on her mind. She was a senshi too, and she figured he was probably powered up by now anyway.

She cupped her gloved hands and braced herself to shout, "IREEEE--" but it turned into a scream by the end. She'd been blindsided by a youma from the nearest game in the worst way and hit the ground in a daze before a claw wrapped around her calf and dragged her closer to the game box it was rooted in.

She tried to kick her way free and get up to no avail and she was a little embarrassed she actually screamed for help, but hey, she was too young to get eaten. Barely out the gate and already down for the count was not her ideal way to go.

Regina had not been out much, as of late. She had been spending far too much time at her AAAU meetings. Aliens Are Among Us, which was the current working title for her support group. She'd been thinking of changing it. AAAU too much like something one would yell when they were being attacked. Like now.

"AAAAA!" Regina shrieked as she fell off the stool she had been sitting on, taking the super soaker down to the ground along with her. Sure, it was attached to the booth, but... She pumped it several times before shooting a stream of water right in to the face of the youma that had tried to snatch her into the both.

All she had wanted was the stuffed unicorn. It looked so fluffy.

Anthony Darrow grabbed his wife, Kyndall, as soon as he had half a chance to. He saw youma everywhere, already on the attack, though his brain couldn't process everything. There were Negaverse soldiers here, and he had to focus on finding Kyndall a place to hide before he could think about hiding himself enough to power up.

He moved to one of the Ring Toss games, and thankfully there was nothing hiding inside it. He looked at Kyndall.

"Hide in here, behind the counter," he said, touching his hand to her face gently and smiling reassuringly. "Be careful, I saw a Negaverse soldier, and there are so many people here... protect yourself. Our baby." He knew she would want to try and power up and help, but in her state he couldn't let her. He would defend her if that meant trying her down some place safe.

Dogby whined and scooted after them, her stomach low on the ground and a series of scared noises escaping the corgi as she wobbled her way to stand against Tony's leg, looking up at him desperately, silently asking him to pick her up and cuddle her and make her safe.

Painite walked leisurely along the boardwalk, holding her spear and watching all the panicked people struggling to find their way out of the area, knowing there was no where for them to go but into more trouble. And the youma were doing an excellent job keeping people herded.

It was fun, what something could be made to do with the promise of food. Just working with them, no understanding between them, using them for their natural instincts and having it work out so well for her own needs.

Sometimes she felt like brainless monsters understood her better than most of her own side, and that made her wonder.

"I hope we're all having fun!" she called, above the din of the hellish, wild fear. She grinned ear to ear, watching as civilians sought shelter, moving after the closest one, which happened to be Randy Conrad. She simply placed her hand on his shoulder, and glanced at him, making sure he was looking at her. She gave him a sweet smile before she drained him of a bit of energy, just to kick off the night.

She brought her spear forward, menacing.

Once the chaos started Kyndall looked horrified by what she was seeing. A simple night out suddenly took a sinister turn and she couldn't do anything to stop it. The urge to power up was dampened by knowing she was pregnant and it wouldn't make her safe either way.

She backed up and a tentacle wrapped around her wrist from one of the games she bumped into, making her scream.

"TONY!"

She yanked her arm away, freeing herself from the tentacle's grasp with a quick yank leaving almost no trace that anything had happened. She was shaken more than anything and trembled, staying well away from the game she'd strayed too near. This was like something out of one of her nightmares, only opening her eyes didn't seem to make it disappear.

He took her out of the way and she pulled Dogby into her lap, soothing the pup's scared whimpers if only so no one could be alerted to where they were. There was fear in her eyes.

"This is really happening, isn't it?"

Tony tugged her to him, cradling her protectively and looking around. He couldn't let her go, he couldn't let some monster hurt her! He had to make sure she was safe. She was his life, his world. She was carrying his baby and most of his heart: if he lost her, he would be nothing. He wouldn't risk it.

He was her knight: he would do his duty.

"It is, but we've seen worse. Okay? Just focus on keeping yourself hidden and safe, and I'll worry about fighting off anything that got too close." He had his cane hanging on his arm, as he always did, so even if he couldn't find a chance to power up safely, he could at least put up a bit of a fight.

He had long ago updated to metal, rather than wood or something flimsy.

Dogby cuddled against Kyndall and quieted for now, but only because there were no monsters around them, and for a moment they were safe. Tony patted the dog lightly on the head, feeling bad for her. He knew none of them should have come to the carnival. He could only hope that Harmony was safe, where ever she was. He didn't know if it was just this area, or if it was this bad everywhere.

"I'm scared."

All of the reasons she's stopped powering up to begin with came flooding back to her now. She cuddled her husband, cuddled Dogby and indulged in bitter fear for a few long moments before she remembered something else that frightened her nearly to the bone.

"Harmony! Oh, God, Tony! I have to go get her!"

She nearly got up right then and there to go find her baby. She struggled to but was hindered by Dogby in her lap and perhaps by his grip. They both knew what was at stake, the girl had died before at the hands of the Negaverse and there was no guarantee that this time some redeeming force would mysteriously bring her back to life.

"You have to power up, Tony. You have to leave me here."

She needed to know her daughter was safe.

"I can't leave you, darling. I can't."

Tony shook his head. He knew she was worried about Harmony, and he was, too, but he couldn't imagine leaving his pregnant wife at the moment. It was just too much to ask of him, though he had dedicated his life to helping her, to doing what she wanted and what she needed.

Leaving her was just not an option.

He moved suddenly, grabbing her and pulling her away from the game stand. A youma appeared from behind it and reached for him, grabbing him roughly by the shoulders and hauling him up and over its head. It leered at Kyndall as it did so, emboldened by the fact that there seemed to be little to resist it. A pregnant woman and a dog with Tiny legs were not threatening in its book, it seemed.

It figured that Marissa was actually going to give him a chance to suggest things that he'd want in exchange for giving her information, was the time that youma started to attack left and right. "Well I guess we'll need a rematch," he grumbled, jumping away from the air hockey table as a youma burst through the wall, pinned with balloons, wishing someone with good aim would think to ping the monster while they were at it, seeing as their game was suddenly interrupted.

"s**t," he hissed, dropping the mallet so he could barely dodge out of the way of the attacking youma. There were enough people around, yelling and screaming about the sudden appearance of the monster to give him some cover, and Michael ducked behind the now abandoned balloon booth so he could transform unseen.

The youma was persistant though, and even though there were plenty of other distractions, it turned after him and lunged. He'd barely had enough time to pull his storm glass from subspace and conk the monster on the head, but so far he remained thankfully unscathed.

Hopefully that was the same for the company he'd been keeping.

Marissa's response to a bunch of youma suddenly busting up onto the Game Boardwalk from seemingly out of nowhere was more or less the same as Michael's, except that instead of ducking behind a balloon stall she found some a pinball machine some hapless civilian had immediately fled from and ducked behind it to transform.

Upon standing, she immediately remembered that her kid's mother-in-law was actually still right there, only instead of watching Marissa and noting her transformation into Palatine, Claire was aiming her camera at a youma with an expression of mixed fright and glee.

"Wow, I've never seen anything like this at a carnival before!" Claire said.

Her glee lasted about as long as it took for the youma to snatch the camera out of her hands crush it.

"Oh, that's just awful!" she gasped. Palatine had to resist planting her face in her palm, especially as Claire immediately followed her disappointment with a wild look around. "Michael? Cupcake? Where did you go?!"

"Just get out of here," Palatine advised her a little more harshly than she'd intended, but there were youma popping up everywhere and she didn't know what to focus on first.

The least she could do was make sure Claire got her a** out of there while she could.

Chaos broke out around him, and Serpentine sprung into action like a wire that had been tied back too tightly for too long. Youma... more than he had ever seen, outside of the Rift, flooded the area. Repulsive creatures, in certain ways, but the Negaverse's creatures. They would perform their tasks, as ordered.

In the eruption of activity, he grabbed hold of the nearest person--a teenager, gender currently unknown since he wasn't paying that close of attention. The energy contained within was more important than the outer vessel. Additionally, to learn more about these they hunted now--pawns, not enemies--was a poor use of resources. Serpentine was no sadist; as such, he felt efficiency more important than lingering over a victim.

The lieutenant was still getting used to this energy draining technique, and it showed in his lack of speed. Still, he was clearly siphoning energy, and speed did not seem to be that much of a necessity. The energy desired would be obtained, sooner or later.

[Anyone is welcome to try and stop--or help--Serpentine! Just gimme a quote. <3]

Captain Natron was absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to come out and play with some civilians. He had really only pondered a moment over how cruel and unusual this was - attacking noncombatants and all - and how far it was from the purpose he had signed on for.

They would lure out their enemies, and it would be a show of the Negaverse's power. A way to remind everyone in the city exactly who belonged in charge here.

He grabbed at a civilian, who screamed and stumbled away. Damn, bad start.
