With the Carnival in full swing, Painite saw her chance to start the fun. And what was phase one, exactly?

Youma.

Youma everywhere.

She had been gathering them for some time, with help from others, and they had begun to gather on their own. Maybe all the chaos in the air, the promise of so many helpless sources of food and starseeds gathered in one place, was as tantalizing to them as it was to Painite herself. Whatever the case, they were there, and they were chomping at the bit.

It took a few little teleportations from the General to encourage and herd the youma out of the surrounding forest and their hiding places, but the monsters soon made themselves known as they charged into the carnival, spilling into every area, from the entrance to the farthest corners of the rides and the picnic areas. Even the lake did not seem youma free.

The General took a moment to admire the sudden hellish terror that burst forward as people realized this was not some gimmick from the carnival itself. She gripped her communication crystal, and then sent out a message to all the Negaverse soldiers in the area.

"Bring me all of their starseeds. Take every ounce of energy you can. Use the youma as your distractions: drain this place dry."


Let the games begin! With the youma running wild and the exits sealed, the carnival is at the mercy of Chaos! It is up to the White Moon and anyone brave enough to rise up to do what they can to spare some lives. Chaos, your goals remain the same: there is no hiding here, no need for subtlety. Painite wants everyone to let loose. You can consider that an order.

Show them your power, whatever side you fight for!

I've done my best to make the games interesting and prompt fun RP! I don't know how well everything will work so if there are any issues or concerns please PM me, as I can never think of everything!

The Rides:
Some of the rides are breaking down! People are trapped on them and all hell is breaking loose! They are sitting targets for Chaos and for Youma, and the rides themselves are a danger! The spinning cups won't stop spinning, and the giant swing seems to be jammed up at its highest point. The Dropper won't rise, but everyone in the seats are trapped! Even the mini merry go round is broken, spinning out of control with its painted animals bucking at a speed that makes rodeo bulls look tame. The Ferris Wheel has come to a complete stop, and the bumper cars are slamming into one another without impact control.

Please wait five rolls from other players between your own rolls! (or an hour, if there are not that many rolls.) You may roll as many times as is possible until the next prompt!

Everyone:
Randomize a number between 1 and 6 to determine what ride you are on/near/must focus on!
1 - Spinning Cups
2 - Giant Swing
3 - Dropper
4 - Merry Go Round
5 - Ferris Wheel
6 - Bumper Cars

Roll another dice, this one between 1 - 10.

1 - 2 :: The ride is getting the better of you: regardless of what team you are on, you are having some difficulty with your 'chosen' location. Dizzy, stuck on something, fallen out of the bumper car, attacked by a youma and taken damage: you are put in a bad situation.
3 - 7 :: Civilians, you are fending off youma and doing yourself to be free! Order, you are fighting youma, with numbers 5 and up allowing you to dust them! Chaos, you are focusing on energy!
8 - 10 :: You are free of your ride! You must deal with the impact of it, and figure out just how you've gotten free, but you are free nonetheless! Chaos, you may attack senshi and civilians once you're free of the ride!

Keep rolling until you get free! Once you are free, you may choose to pick a new ride to help on and begin the rolling process again, or take your chances outside the rides.

Outside the rides, you are engaged in battle:

Negaverse: Randomize 1 - 20!

1 - 3 :: Failure! You have drained very little energy, or done very little damage to a senshi. Certainly no starseed for you. If you are fighting a senshi, you are not doing a good job of it.
4 - 14 :: Getting Things Done. You are doing the Negaverse proud, gathering energy or battling senshi with prowess. Higher rolls likely mean starseeds being pulled!
15 - 20 :: Kicking a**. You are a force to be reckoned with, and you are proving yourself on the battlefield. Rolls with these high numbers result in powerful, damaging attacks, or pro starseed ganking. Full energy drains can also suffice.

White Moon: Roll a 1 - 10 dice!

1 - 3 :: Youma attack! If you are not in a battle with a Negaverse soldier or rolling in response to something they have done, this number reflects a youma attacking you successfully. You may have been injured in this attack.
3 - 8 :: Defense force! You are handling yourself well against the youma attacks, and are likely able to fend off their attacks. Lower rolls in this range likely come with small injuries, while higher end rolls can result in youma dusting. This may also reflect the strength of your attack against a Nega.
9 - 10 :: Critical hit! A youma is successfully dusted, or damage is dealt against a Negaverse soldier, resulting in injury.

Civilains: Randomize between 1 and 5!

1 - 2 :: Caught in the Crossfire. You find yourself in an incredibly dangerous position, be it stuck in a bad place, or suddenly falling between two battling opponents, or a youma attacks you. You are hurt and need help!
3 - 4 :: Open Target. There is battling and monsters all around you! You can find cover, or do something bravely stupid. The choice is yours but you are not safe.
5 :: Unseen. You are safe for now! No one seems to notice you, unless you make yourself known. It might be a chance to help, or to try and find a way out.

Please keep a running tally of all of your rolls!

Bumper Cars...

Leucite now remembered why he avoided them as much as he did in his unpowered form. The way they were randomly crashing into each other with NO control made it difficult for him to focus and attempt to capture energy. Growling as he narrowly avoided getting smeared between two of the cars, he hopped up on to the top of one of them, knelt down and grabbed a hold of the grip bar. He knew it was futile to steer the thing, but it at least got him out of danger.

For now.

His grip on the bar lasted about two impacts before he was knocked off and sent sprawling away from his original vehicle. Great, back to dodging the things he was supposed to be using to gather energy - he was off to such a WONDERFUL start.

Growling in annoyance, he once again danced around the killer bumper cars until he saw one he could commandeer, and then it was back to hoping he could hold his grip.

Youmas were too much. Now that they had arrived there was simply too much chaotic eneregy presence. Even though she tried her hardest to keep herself in control, she couldn't and the run-or-fight instinct got her. Panicked, she fleed from Ainsley's sweet, comforting arms, searching for some kind of shelter.

She found one - or at least she thought she did - from one of cups in Spinning Cups ride. In the bottom of the cup she curled up, wishing this nighmare to go away.

This time around went a lot better, with Leucite able to actually time the impacts of the bumper cars with a series of well executed jumps, finally landing him outside of the ride and into the chaos proper. Grinning, he dusted himself off, cracked his knuckles, gave his shoulders a nice roll to limber up, and headed off into the fight.

It was time to do the Negaverse proud!

Leucite was a force of nature. He waded through the crowd of panic stricken civilians and glutted himself. Grabbing one young man who had basically left his girlfriend to the youma, he slammed him into the nearest hard surface and then buried his hand in his chest, taking a firm grip on his starseed and yanking it out. He watched the lights go out in his eyes as he slumped to the ground.

Okay, maybe this killing thing did get easier.

Pocketing the Starseed, he went back to looking for another target to either gather energy or snatch a starseed from. The Senshi didn't seem to be out in force.

Leucite's second target was a bit more aware than the first, another male, Leucite would have placed him in his mid 30s. A firm hand to the chest, he didn't think he could have gotten a good starseed grab, so he focused on draining energy instead. He was only able to draw out a small amount before his focus started to falter. Calling it quits, he pocketed the orb and left the now very weak gentleman to whatever found him next, be it youma or senshi.

He still had other things to see out. He was keeping an eye and his senses open for Senshi. He hadn't seen or felt any nearby yet - but that didn't mean they weren't lurking in the wings.

He'd be ready... Oh yes... He decided to summon his flag for just in case. You never knew when you might need a distraction.

Zia did not like the Dropper, or in Paris' fabulous phrasing, 'Tower of Terror'.

Zia very much did not like the dropper. She wasn't afraid of heights, she was afraid of being strapped to a chair and sent to her death, okay? And it had taken some convincing to get her over there. Pascal even made a speech. He had a ******** speech about how it was perfectly safe and nothing would go wrong.

As the claustrophobia and panic rose from her seat not releasing all she could think was a resounding, '******** you guys.'

Now he was back on his game - Leucite had cornered another male - another runner, and had pinned him to the wall. He was completely focused on drawing his energy and this one didn't put up a fight at all - probably out of fear. He managed to get all the man's energy into a nice orb, which he pocketed along with the other energy he'd gathered.

This was almost too easy!

Laughing a bit, he sought out a new victim, leaving the last one to crumple to the ground for whatever happened across it.

He was still alert and searching though - he didn't want to get caught off guard.

Zia was ready to leave claw marks in the padding when she felt the hydraulics holding her in release, at least a little, along with a ton of air she had been holding in her lungs. If there was anything worse than entrapment, she didn't know.

It wasn't much, but it was enough for her to slip free, and she stumbled off the ride and to her feet as she looked around to get her bearings and figure out where the others had ended up.

His luck didn't hold completely as he moved along the crowd, picking and choosing seemingly at random now. This time his victim was female, and his hand rested snugly on her chest as he drained her energy - however, his mind wasn't completely focused on the gathering and he didn't drain near as much as he should have before he let her go.

He blamed it on her red hair. He did have an insufferable affinity for redheads for some odd reason. As the woman slowly crawled away, Mathias pocketed the orb of energy, small as it was, into his uniform and moved on.

He made a mental note to avoid red heads.

Ainsley was afraid of heights but for Cora she was going to attempt to go on the Ferris Wheel with her. It wasn't too bad right? There was no way she could possibly fall out of a caged environment, and if she was worried Cora would have been there to comfort her. A couple strokes of Cora's soft fur may not have cured her fears but it would have helped the situation. However, somewhere between trying to get to the Ferris Wheel and actually getting there, Ainsley had been separated from Cora. In the attempt to find her little sunhat-wearing cat, Ainsley ended up on the Giant Swings. She didn't want to be here but before she could even say a word she'd been strapped in and the ride started.

Paralyzed with fear, Ainsley was silent until finally the ride reached the highest point and stopped. She waited for it to move with dread and a small hint of hope until the realization set in. The dread had changed to doom and eaten all the hope. It wasn't moving. She was stuck. She was being held up from falling simply by the seat she was strapped in. She shouldn't have but in hopes to realize she wasn't too far up, she dared to look down. However, instead of realizing she was just mere feet from the ground she realized that this was the same height that the building was. Not just any building, the building she fell off.

The connection was not too far for Ainsley to connect and soon the little girl was screaming at the top of her lungs. A normally meek girl, Ainsley couldn't hold in the fear. It had taken grasp of her entirely and refused to let go. It didn't matter that screaming was unladylike anymore because in her world everything was dark. The ride was no longer mechanism of metal and gears but a thin rope waiting to snap, waiting to drop her to her doom. So she screamed, and clung to the seat with the very real conclusion that if she let go or the snaps released suddenly that she'd fall to her death like she would have before.

She screamed for Cora, the guardian cat she knew was somewhere in the carnival. She screamed for Bell, her beloved older sister who always seemed to look out for her. She screamed for Kurma, even though it was unlikely her knight in golden glow would rescue her again. Just like the fairytales she loved, she believed would come again. She screamed Ixion, the boy who'd always rescued her before. She hadn't seen him in a long time but perhaps she simply wasn't in enough danger? Perhaps she'd seen him again. She had a bit of hope lingering in the scream but finally she began to cry for Xavier, wishing he was still around to care. She missed him, and she always felt safe around him but he'd been gone for two years now. Why did she hold on? Life. She held on for life. She always believed there was still hope, and just like she thought of her mother, she believed her loved ones would come back to her.

Pascal had been right behind Zia for the drop tower. He got on, and then waited with excitement for the ride to pull them back against the seats and exert enough force to pull them to the top. It only did one of those things, and after a couple of minutes Pascal finally started to wonder. It wasn't going anywhere, and they were locked in. He didn't panic because frankly there was nothing to panic about given the ride hadn't gone anywhere. There was no risk of him suddenly falling to his death. However, it was sort of worrisome. What was going on? Pascal tried to look and see but he couldn't tell.

Leucite was growing tired of just drawing energy from his victims, and the red head from before had thrown him off his game. So when he bumped into yet another young male abandoning what could only be his date to the chaos around, he grabbed him by the collar and dragged him over to the nearest bench, pushing him onto it, he moved over to the scrambling man and reached into his chest.

It was getting easier - each time - to find and remove the starseed of these poor souls. Removing the seed from the man and watching his body go cold and limp, he smirked and pocketed the precious source of energy.

"Hmph... This might not be a bad day after all."
