Avalbane McCarthy ☎xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • Theo's smile was very reassuring, it was almost like it wiped away most of her fears, settling her nerves and making this whole ordeal not seem like such a big scare. As his hand rested in front of her, she slowly moved her hand to place in his, like a scared mouse poking its head from its hole. Her gloved hand laid gently in his and she eyed him, still slightly nervous.
His voice broke through the silence in her head and she looked up into his eyes. Her puppy dog expression slowly faded and she smiled softly at him. She nodded as he finished speaking. Since he was going to lead, all she would have to do is follow his footsteps. Although she was almost positive she would stumble over her own feet or his, it was going to be fun. GOING. TO. BE. FUN.
There wasn't really much for her to say, just actions. Maybe they didn't even have to do a traditional dance. Or did they? Avalbane couldn't recall what anyone had said in the Control Room. All of that was gone from her mind with all the excitement of the night. Oh well. If worse came to worse, she would make up some jig and dance like a buffoon. Or maybe not. That would be completely embarrassing and her looks already grabbed enough attention from time to time, as well as her accent. She did not need for her dancing skills to gather onlookers.
((Not going to lie, I didn't even read to catch up. This post probably sucks but its like 2 in the morning and I have to be up in 4 hours. Lol. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Also, you can kind of just control Avalbane if some what if you need to. Or not, I don't even know. I should be asleep. ))

"Why do I need to kiss your hand?"
“Oh god you’re terrible,” Milkha said this to Khoric in a Sewitan dialect. “Shall I teach you how to be a proper gentleman in front of me? Hm? ” she conversed back in a language he could understand. Her petrified partner made her mood worse. Perhaps bathing him with her juice from her previous thoughts was more appropriate, or more enjoyable than prancing around with the common folks. Too bad she gulped down all the juice. She mused herself on other things she could do.
With the loud music, people danced around, busy with themselves and the night ventured forth, Milkha smiled and positioned herself. She thought twice if her actions will lead to spreading news that will disgrace her family name, and settled with ‘well it’s papa’s and mama’s fault if something happens.’
She pulled Khoric’s hand and placed it on her back just beneath her shoulder blades. Tapped his arms up and arranged it so that she could rest her arm gently on the boy’s upper arm with her fingers draped over his shoulder. She placed her right hand to his left hand and raised them to her eye level.
“Your stiffness is good in this dance,” she said in a soft voice, “If you don’t dance with me, I’ll scream,” and giggled to him towards the end.
As they move along, Milkha (more of pulling the boy to where they were supposed to be) did not held her words back, those words that were on her mind the last few minutes.
Of course she said it with a smile, “Listen, if we adopt you, we won’t be siblings,” she twirled in time of the music and went back closer to him, “it would be like a servant boy and his master, get it. I will never be on the same level as you,” she eagerly watched his reactions. She said those words as if she won’t ever meet him again. That she won’t share the same air they breathe in the future.
“You, like these orphans here,” she moved and said this following the music, “…will always be pebbles underneath my feet,” she leaned on him and smiled even more and squinted her eyes a bit, “shiny or not.”
Well if they ever meet again, she just dug herself a grave.
The music stopped and a lady welcomed them, everyone applauded including her. She didn’t look back at the boy. After the music ended, she let his hand go and mixed in with the crowd. She didn’t felt good, who would be? So Milkha decided to exchange courtesies with some of the known personalities of Magapolis, she can’t wait to get back home in Upper Sewit.
Then the music changed to a slow dance tune.

Surprisingly enough, the girl didn't put up much of a resistance as Hack swooped down on her. He'd half expected some kind of reaction (maybe a tight slap to the face but he was prepared to dodge), but all she did was grab his tux, as if she was trying to stop him from falling.
Something flickered as he pressed his lips to her cheek however, and a hint of purple skin peeked out beneath a holographic layer of healthy peach.
Purple.
Hack pulled back so quickly he almost tripped. Oh god she was one of those Nova kids! No wonder she was so... clueless, looking.
"That... was nice..thank you?"
He laughed nervously in response as she patted his chest, one hand scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
"I, I didn't-- you-- agh, I'm sorry," he apologized in an awkward rush, "I uh, didn't know you were one of the Nova kids, mistletoe is one of our human customs," he explained in a low voice. Goodness if one of the other heroes had seen this... hopefully Flo wasn't paying attention to the cameras.......
"... hungry?"
The mere mention of food threw all other thoughts he might have had right out of his head. The man beamed like bright ray of sunshine.
"Ho boy yeah! But before that, I need to fix... that..."
Once again, without really thinking, Hack reached out with one hand and cupped it against her ear where the faulty earpiece was. To anyone else, it'd look like an affectionate sort of gesture. What he was really doing though was simply fixing that gosh darned earpiece that dragged him down here in the first place. It took all of two seconds for the technopath to relay the right signals and voila, fixed.
"Right then!" He withdrew his hand and proceeded to offer an arm, like a gentleman was supposed to (right?)
"Shall we?"

((LOLOL. It's cool. *HUGS*))
With Avalbane's hand in his, he led her towards the dance floor. He stayed closer to the edge though, still not wanting to be shoved into a crowd of people despite his small measure of confidence on the subject of dancing. Having to remain aware of all the people around you while dancing was distracting, you'd spend too much time trying not to bump into them instead of just enjoying yourself and Theo would much rather enjoy his dance.
As he tried to remember what exactly you did for the dance, Theo remembered a little tid-bit about formal dancing that had escape his mind earlier. His hand needed to touch her, and not just her hand... on her waist. Internally Theo was already starting to panic over the prospect, especially considering he barely knew her. How would she react? It was just dancing and nothing more, but he knew how girls were sometimes and they took things the wrong way if you were too eager about it.
"Uhm," Theo began, his eyes darting about as he tried to formulate his question and explination, "Uhm, for, uh.... For this kind of a dance, uhm...ihavetoputmyhandonyourwaististhatok?"
Yes, this was totally going swimmingly.

When Hack pulled back so quickly, Violet thought that she might of offended the man for a moment. Was that not right, was she suppose to respond differently? Humans..were so so strange, though very adorable, the sheepishly look he was giving her caused Violet to relax back down swaying a little as she did.
Sorry? Custom...mm she would have to ask more about such things at a later date definitely, maybe even ask Hack to help her but for now, for now her eye was on the food. Blinking slowly she did offer a reassuring, "I see...alright then" before nodding happily yet lazily at the other. Not to worried about what had happened since really it didn't hurt her, he didn't really do anything 'bad' so for Violet all was good.
"..Hmm? ...Oh..yes, I guess so..." That was right he had came over for a reason the ear piece, she was about to take it out when she noticed the hand reaching for her already. This human was, what they called a 'something else' wasn't he, ah well he seemed friendly enough. Violet willed herself not to turn and try to see what he was doing, instead she peered up with curious browns and waited silently, her eyes dimming and falling to a sort of half mast look, almost as if she was about to fall asleep. However her sleep look might appear slightly different to outside eyes, giving the illusion that the girl was simply enjoying the affection her companion was showing her. The buzzing in Violets ear stopping and causing a widespread smile. "...How did you do that? " The she asked out right, obviously amazed for the moment and seriously curious.
"Oh. Yes...go, lets go." Violet giggled a low almost hum sounding giggle before taking the offered arm, following Hack trustfully without another question.
[ Exit? ] ((buffet sounds good less Hack has some other devious plans? xD Violet is his puppy at the moment, she is willing to follow as long as eventually they get food x3))

Avalbane McCarthy ☎xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • followed where he was going, rather relieved that he was sticking to the edge. If they had found their way in the middle, she was pretty sure she would have knocked several couples over throughout the dance. Several. Which would cause a huge scene, put all attention on the clumsy "orphan" girl and annoy people most likely. Oh and it would put a bunch of attention on Theo and he did not deserve that.
All this dancing business was new to Avalbane. She would understand Theo's pain had she actually be paying attention to where everyone put their hands instead of what their feet were doing.
She stared at his face, wondering why his demeanor had changed. His eyes were darting about and it made her tilt her head to the side like a confused puppy. What was he doing? Then he spoke and went so quickly that Ava had no idea what he had actually said at first. It took a moment to take in his squished together mess of a sentence. She was able to figure out what he was saying slowly. "O-Oh." The idea that he had to keep his hands, or hand, on her waist did make her a bit nervous. She quickly glanced at other dancers and noticed their hand positions. It was the way to dance. And if it was the way to dance it was perfectly normal. "Well that's gran'. if dat is 'oy ter dance properly oi du not mind." Avalbane really didn't.
But this did bring up another question, what about her hands? When she had looked over at the others, several people had them in different places. What was she to do? Theo would know the answer. "Du oi put me 'ands on yisser waist too?" That seemed reasonable. A little odd to dance like that, with stiff arms, but that was probably correct.

Had Theo not already been very nervous about the question just asked, he would have heaved a heavy sigh of relief at Avalbane's answer. She didn't seem to think it weird or offensive of him to ask to place his hands on her in such a familiar way. It was dancing, after all, but some girls just didn't find it appropriate to be touched like that or weren't very comfortable with it.
Theo blinked for a hot minute when Avalbane asked her question. Did she put her hands on his waist too? He couldn't remember! Aaaauuggghhhh. How could he not remember? He remembered the steps and how he led, but he forget what the girls did. Crap, crap, crap. Answer Theo, answer!
"Uhm, uh, I-I guess...," He said, trying not to look slightly horrified and bashful at the same exact time.
Now he was beyond nervous. She probably thought him such a goof. Sighing internally, Theo reached out for Avalbane's waist and swallowed hard as he placed his hands there and waited for Avalbane to do the same. He was pretty sure he was going to have a heart attack at the moment.
Please start dancing. Please start dancing, He chanted in his head.

Avalbane McCarthy ☎xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • smiled at his response. He was stammering and stuttering as much as she normally did. Was he nervous? Did he like her? Oh no! That might be it. When she spoke like that most the time it was around Sharp Shooter, was this a similar situation? This wasn't good, she did not want to make him this nervous. If this was really the problem, she couldn't break his heart either. What was a small odd girl to do?
"Ok. Oi understan'." Raising her arms slightly to let Theo reach her waist, she moved towards his. Keeping her arms on the inside of both of his, she gently put her hands on his hips, unsure if this was right. "Loike dis?"
She was hoping that her fabric and clothes would prevent him from feeling too much of the cold from her body. On the inside, the gloves already had some frost on the fingertips. Avalbane just did not want Theo to get cold from being this close to her. That is normally what happened to people, then they pulled away. Which was fine, she was cold and unless someone had a jacket or liked the cold, they wouldn't want to be that close to her.
"Oi'm ready." This was Avalbane's first dance and she would pretty much follow whatever Theo said. It all seemed normal and made sense. Well, as much sense as a dance can make. These things were a bit odd and everyone was odd during them. That was probably just a dance thing. She was positioned and ready to follow whatever Theo did. He knew what he was doing. He was a scholar at this sort of thing.
