Ooooh, their first green. Excellent. Keela leaned forward in her seat to eye the hatchling with interest. ... Hm, not the strongest of personalities, was she. Ah well, not every green was quite as confident or driven as Taith was. She supposed this one would do well with Hers regardless. Now just to see whether she went for the girls or the boys...
Taith hadn't formed much of an opinion on the new one yet, aside from the fact that she was still better.

The little green gave a hiccup as she swept her gaze over the boys first, searching, searching. Hesitant at first, like a baby, she waddled forward then when her step was more sure, she broke into a haphazard dash, the rush of the motion momentarily overwhelming her.
As she ran for the boys, that happy, curious burbling sound she was making made it obvious this was not an aggressive charge. She was delighting in the freedom and she flared her wings only to go tumbling head over tail and stop in a sitting position swaying a little.
As the green learned about walking and running and tumbling on the Sands, the Resilient Warped egg all but exploded. It had been rocking violently, knocking against its neighbours, and the dragonet within had finally found the weak point and the whole shell disintegrated beneath the determined baby's efforts.
Even as ooze dripped from the hatchling's body and shell fragments slid down the face, it took a moment to look around, eyed the other dragonet and shook her head. And a she it was indeed, a pretty green to match her sister, albeit the energy with which this one had hatched was a warning.
Rising, the green shook off what it could of the mess and started to march towards the girls. This one was on a mission and the tension across her shoulders, the way she stepped confidently even just out of the shell.... this one would not be dissuaded and her goal: Find Hers.

Alain couldn't help but laugh at the first green came rushing at them. She seemed to be very enthusiastic on life. It was great to see some more life showing at the hatching. Her sister was just as enthusiastic, with the way she busted out of the egg. The second with her goal of the girls, made him smile. He watched as she made her way towards what he could only think of as Hers with the way she walked.

When the green came charging at the boys Winderick's eyes widened and he instinctively took a small step back, for it was a green that nearly mauled him at his last Stand. Only when the green took a tumble did his posture relax. However, his heart was still pounding. Finally there was a dragon on the sands he stood a chance of Impressing and she nearly hurt herself! He hoped she could get up again. That looked like it hurt.
While he was focused on the clumsy green another egg exploded on the sands. Winderick looked up, startled, and held his breath. This one could be trouble.

Annd here came the greens. It had been bound to happen eventually, he knew, since there were more greens than any other dragon. He eyed the happy green carefully as it made its way to the boys' group. It wouldn't want him, surely, so who was it after? Once again, Mal took a look around him - who was here that a female dragon would want?

Aw, she looked so sweet. Mya dimpled like a doting sister at the sight of baby sibling. She even chuckled a bit when the baby took a head over tail tumble in the rush to get over to the boys.
Looks like the little one needed a bit of help with coordination, it seemed. But the candidate had no doubt Hers, with a little help, would have her standing proud on all fours in no time flat.
Speaking of all fours-
She started a bit when another egg popped like a full water bladder in all directions. A glance from instinctive shielding brought up the fact another rich green hatchling now graced the sands.
And from the way she held herself, she had confidence. A goal not to be stirred from. That was something Mya could admire a great deal.

One green to the boys, and one to the girls! The boys were probably getting the better end of the deal, though; rather than happy like the first, the green from the lumpy egg was tense, and after the frustration that she'd felt from the egg at the Touching, it might not take it so well if it had trouble finding its future rider.

It wasn't long before a second green definitely made herself known. Falawny watched the first green in her headlong dash toward the boys. Oh he was ready to move if needed. She seemed to be enjoying her first round of freedom quite well. He nodded as she went tumbling; she'd get the hang of it quickly enough.
His eyes turned to the second green. That was one, he decided, to be careful around. It would appear they'd gotten off lucky, as the taunt green headed toward the girl's side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two greens now. Emkin did her best to watch them both. The first was amusing in her antics of learning what she could do. She had to smile then. Was it the heat or her nerves? Her palms were slightly damp and she dried them. Then her eye cause the second green moving toward them. That one had intent and purpose behind her.

As the first green began to run, Rufet jumped. Was she charging them?! He had overheard people musing about the chances of one or some of the Candidates getting injured. What was it called again? Amal... Mall... Mauling? Yes! That was it! Was there going to be one right now?
But he couldn’t move. He told himself that he couldn’t move, he’d lose at his own private game if he moved. Even ducking behind another Candidate counted as moving, so that was out of the question. What to do, then?
Nothing, apparently. He couldn’t hide the sigh of relief and grin as the charging green dragonet tumbled head over tail to finally stop in a sitting position. She was cute!
Rufet jumped as the Resilient Warped egg hatched, the young boy wildly looking around before seeing the second green. “Wow!” He breathed, shifting forward on his tip-toes to try and get a better look at the second green as she headed towards the girls. “Wow!”

The green who had tumbled rose again and shook her head, sweeping her gaze over the boys, standing there for a moment before she crooned again, meeting the gazes of a few of them but remaining silent.
With a fluttering of her wings, she sorted herself and looked to her sister, striding along like she was hellbent on something and looked into the group of girls, searching there too. She let out a pleased sound and started that way too. Hers, it seemed, was not with the boys after all.
The two greens descended upon the girls. One shoving past, ignoring and undettered, the other taking her time to peer up at the others, sweetly crooning at a few.

It was kind of an amazing thing, to see the first four impress without a hitch. Two of them were bronzes too! Kahar grinned as he watched the young dragons, leaning over a bit to try and get a better view. For a moment, his gaze shifted up towards the queen, which caused that grin to fade.
Shaking his head, he tried not to think too much of what she might be going through and focused on the next eggs that were hatching. Two greens, this time around. And they were beautiful little girls.
When the one started running towards the boys, he stared, a little uncertain what was about to happen. But, he eventually realized that she meant no harm and was running rather playfully. Whew. No loss of limbs or anything like that this time around. What it was like to get beaten up by a baby dragon was one thing he did not wonder about.

Viddle watched as the bouncy green fell and gazed at the boys looking for Hers, then to the determined green who was coming their way. When the bouncy one turned towards them and started pushing her way through, Viddle moved aside so the little one didn't have to fight past her to look at someone else.

Mya carefully stepped to the side to over getting run into or run over. It was best to let them keep going with their search in the female candidates without interference.
Though, judging from the second green, she looked and acted like she'd walk over anyone who got in the way of something she wanted. Mya chuckled to herself at that thought and the memories it brought forth.
Ah, to be with family again.

Winderick didn't know what to make of the clumsy green. Either Her's was among the girls or she was simply following her sister out of curiosity. If Her's was not among the boys after all he hoped she would find her in the girl's group. She seemed so happy and he hoped she would Impress to someone. He looked nervously at the girls, worried about that pushy green.

Falawny was almost disappointed the happy green turned from them. The girls deserved a shine in the spotlight too. Still if that was where theirs was, then so be it. For now he was content to watch, arms crossed over his chest. He could only hope the second green didn't decide someone moved too slowly out of her way and start moving them herself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Surprise flitted across her features as both greens were turned to them now. Her attention fully taken. Watching the high strung green in case she should be in the way, and meeting the eyes of the pleasant green if she happened to look at her. Emkin smiled encouraging at them.
