”If you thought Hell was frightening….”
*Hearing a thud on the sand, Kinetav's eyes moved towards the middle; he saw the woman, Sephra, thrown into the ground, seeing the wounds through her entire body, visibly raped and beaten. Gazing around the crowd, he began to feel sick as woman and men looked on with bloodlust and anticipation at seeing this woman so low; for once, the eyes felt like they were not on him as he stood in his dark metallic armor. He could only imagine what horrible things she must have in her soul, and knew exactly what Krayth intended to do as he whispered quietly in the roar of the arena:*

"What have you done, woman...to deserve all of this to be taken from you...to be on your knees like this in front of a nation...to be executed mercilessly by Lord Krayth himself...."

*His shock was furthered by the speech of the Void Lord, his heart unknowing as he knew he had not heard the full story; he knew his duty to the Void, and to those who served the Master...and yet he knew not of this Grix, save that his soul would most likely please the Infinite Dark, as most others would. And he knew that this woman was a daughter of Grix...a loved one of Grix in that case. Still on his knees, he witnessed the exodus of Krayth be raised high into the air, realizing just what kind of entrapment awaited Sephra as he had taken glimpses into the void recently. The blade fell, and what occurred was natural to all Anima, but varied on how terribly the soul was damaged or the damage inflicted by the soul...and the damage seemed to be almost as inflicted on the woman beside him before she somehow composed herself. The pain was clearly more than that of a normal soul, and somehow this woman could see it…maybe just as clearly as she had seen into his own soul. The stone around his heart began to crack as the emotions overwhelmed him, and his main desire became that of knowledge and to know which side was right and wrong; and just as he thought that, the woman spoke back to him, but her words proved to be a lot of wisdom and open ends instead of the hard facts which he desired.

The nation we (Edge and I) serve....but what nation is that? I still have yet to truly find out...Is it the Citadel? Is it the Desert? And do not focus on revenge...and that stare at Krayth...the man and the statement had to be connected. Stabilize your thoughts...protect yourself and then perhaps we can focus on protecting others.

His world was flipped, the darkness asked to be the protector, the Voidsworn asked to protect the overall life which he swore to destroy a certain amount of and offer it to his master; he stood up silently as he watched the woman get up and walk over to Krayth, the anima mentally tuning out the world around him as he tried to stabilize his thoughts, his loyalties, and his heart.*

”….enjoy eternity in my Edge.”

Areth did not answer the lord at once. Instead she watched as more events unfolded before her. She watched as the remains of a once living things lost its head, and again as two powerful people dropped to the ground, heaving up the contents of their insides violently. As the lord was on the ground, Areth bent over, and did her best to look in his face. "And you say the time for rest is over? I think that even the strong have their points of breaking. You should rest before you give me anything."
God did Areth's voice hurt. She would have to stop talking altogether soon. Speaking past the pain, she said but one more thing. "Areth is my name."

The Void Lord did not move from his place. His eyes did not blink or sway from whatever invisible horror he spied. It was himself. He felt the weight of a small bauble on his neck, one he had sought never to forget and to always wear as a reminder of how close he had come to following in an old friend's footsteps. Besrim's old necklace strangled him now, an onus he could hardly bear. "What have I done..." His words died at his lips. Liliana's balm could not ease the dread revelation that ripped open his brain.

There was clamor in the Arena as wilders rose in alarm, unsure of the state of their Lord. There was no cheering for Sephra's death. She had earned her place among the corpses of the Desert, but there would be no celebration of her end. There would be a funeral. One for whom the Desert could never replace. Adellos rushed to his Lord's side, eying the women who approached him suspiciously but leaving his weapon in its sheath. Krayth's black eyes flickered to Liliana, his hands falling from his face to his neck, the force of his grip cracking the slender bones and feathers that made up Besrim's reminder. "What have I done?" As the young Dark Avenger approached him, something stirred in the dark.

"Brother." A still, lifeless voice called to him from the dim nearby. A voice eerily akin to his own; one that Krayth had never heard speak but he knew instantly. Beyruun's black mass glistened in the dying torchlight as it slithered along the floor, surface twitching and pulsing as it seemed to grow... and grow. It was the eerie shape of a pseudo-snake, misty orb atop its head as a single eye. Krayth could feel his Exodus in a manner he had not before. It felt intimately familiar, and yet like a creature reborn. Refined. It coiled over his bowed legs, up his lap, under his shirt. At Beyruun's touch Krayth's lungs drew a sharp and tremulous breath, the tension in his body melting away as his sibling emerged at his collar, nuzzling itself against his cheek. "You made me grow. You made me strong... and you suffered for me. I will not let you regret. Only the weak regret. You are not. We are one. We know the truth. Make him pay for what he did to them... make him pay for the lives he twisted to wield his plague. Only this will make it right, brother. Only this will avenge them all."

Krayth's eyes looked on, to a place that did not exist but within him. To the bond that made them one, and the devout resolve that coiled around him. Beyruun was right. There was only one way... and it was not to lose himself her. Not now. The Anima rose unsteadily from the ground, wiping the spittle from his lips. Beyruun slid back into his hand, reshaping itself as it had always been. He looked at the black knife, and gripped it tight as he turned out to his subjects. They looked back in searching silence.

"Rest, Tribes. Consult the wind and sand. All is not well, but your Lord will make it so. Tonight, we grieve together..." The pain had never left him. His eyes were wet at the thought of embracing the agonizing reality that he would never see her again... not in life, or death. He continued, tightening his grip on the reigns of his sorrow.
"This war ends tomorrow. We shall entomb our Lady in the bones of her ancestor when we have peace again. We will honor her deeds until sleep drags us to it. Please, rest until that time comes." They did not protest. In somber procession, the tribes departed from the Arena. Then the Anima turned his gaze to Areth, the youngest of the Dark Avengers yet perhaps the boldest. He heard the strain in her voice. As he looked at her, he seemed a different man from before. He looked like a Lord, and his commands bore the cool tone of the cavern around him. "Adellos. Gather fresh torches. Gerdane, free the Legionaries but take the trigger fingers from their hands. Areth, save your words. I have heard them, and I will rest tonight." Both Adellos and his brother bowed their heads and departed.

The Void Lord's gaze then fell on Liliana, whose words resonated within him. His hand bled from the bite of Besrim's reminder. Twice he had stood on the edge of Evil. He would not walk so blindly again. "Liliana, you know as I know. Vincent knows our weaknesses, but we know his. We must gather those leaders that are left, but I cannot leave here yet. I have brought war on both my people, and my kind." His eyes went out to the other Dark Avengers. "I must see to it that they are ready. Where would you have us meet you?"

Blood did as she was told and closed her eyes taking in a sight she couldn't quite fathom at the moment, but for some strange reason she felt more powerful. When she opened her eyes she saw the world in a whole new perspective, this of course confused her for a moment, but then she grasped the concept of it while listening to her Lords speech.

Blood then watched everything transpire with little of a mood change. Seeing her Lord in such a state gave her a small amount of shock, but she quickly got over that as Krayth spoke of more training. She thought about how she should train her class skills more, as long as get to know the other DA's. Unfortunately Blood remembers her past at this time, and that's when she felt like distancing herself from everyone else. She felt like she didn't belong here, yet she swore to serve under Krayth and the Void, so she stayed.

"There is only evil in action,

Lady Liliana of Ernya, Sage Elementalist

Head clearing up, Liliana stood after Krayth spoke to her. "Let them rest. We all should rest before we continue forward. If you are willing to put me up for the night, I will remain here and use the rampant energies gathered here to try and divine our next move." Liliana looked to Kinetav, eyes looking deep into him enough that even he would feel the full presence of her mind within his. "You serve the nation your heart follows, be it here or the one you were sent by, Kinetav. Just because you are Voidsworn does not make you any different than anyone else. How you protect others is how you do it. But from what you see here, revenge-fueled power breaks too quickly." Liliana put a comforting hand on Krayth's back to guide him from the Arena. I can see into any soul my eyes find, she said directly into his mind. It helps to see when one works for what is right. Know this lesson well, for I taught it to Krayth once: There is only evil in action, not in man itself.

”If you thought Hell was frightening….”

*The voice echoing within his mind was not his own as the same blind, powerful woman spoke wisdom once again; she spoke of what is right, and Kinetav knew nothing of right versus wrong in this planet....he needed more information to settle his conflicted heart. He heard Krayth overspeak of the legionaires and that's when it hit him again like it did earlier in the dunes above the city; the Guardian most likely had a security card like that he was given!!! He snapped out of his stupor, looking around quickly as if they might already be gone; he began sprinting over to the cages, catching Gerdane before releasing him and saying in between a quick breath or two:*

"Wait, wait, wait! Gerdane..."

*Kinetav wrapped an arm around Gerdane's shoulder, pulling him thirty to fourty feet off to the side and in a huddle away from the view of the other Legionaires; he pulled out a crimson card and flashed it to Gerdane, speaking in a whisper as such not to be heard by the men:*

"This...is a Citadel security clearance card. It was given to me by Srin himself, but I think there are different ranks of security clearance as to information. If you will...and I know I haven't done much to warrant this, but.... I need that Guardian searched and his card removed off of his person...it may contain information about this Grix, the Citadel, Srin, and only gods know what else. Information that *I* can retrieve, and tomorrow morning show you and Krayth just as easily as I showed you my ID card today. I need to know what is going on here, Gerdane...please do this for me."

Gerdane did not have any of Kinetav's attempt to wrangled his arm over his shoulder and pull him away. The fledgling Anima would be met with a swift bat of his hand with the hard leather of the wilder's bracer, and the visible sight of his off hand on the ax at his hip. It was only after the Dark avenger produced the card of crimson that the wilder took his hand from its weapon, and really started to listen. He listened well, and whispered a response to the Anima's request with a thin lipped smirk. "You do a fine job of disowning yourself from The Legion, boy... and that will be remembered. You will get this card. In the morning." It was clear by the look on Gerdane's face that the time was not open for discussion. Kinetav would get the card when he was in plain sight of many well rested wilders, and not before. "You'll also do me the favor of staying well away from their cells. TA'ROOK! SEISHAL!" From the shadows by the cells stalked four armed tribesmen. Each with spears long and narrow enough to ventilate any of the cages behind them. "We bring the Drakul, and leave the others. Stay here, Soul Eater." The wilder snapped his ax from his hip, and brandished it in hand as he approached the Draconian's cell with the others. From above came that grinding noise again, and the cell door opened as two of the guards stood behind it, forcing the Guardian from his cage with the tips of their spears as he advanced out to face Gerdane and the duo at his sides. He set the bridge of his ax against the Guardian's chest, and proclaimed without recourse "Take off your armor, Drakul. All of it."

(Permission from Verid to us my legionary.)
The guardian moves out and glares at the men behind his helmet."Why? You allwear armor and hold weapons. Yet I am not allowed to fight someone with them? " he toke off his helmet and slowly the rest of his armor. Even without the armor the guardian was a large firgure. His body was fit and strong, he had taken the card and placed in his pocket to his pants he wore under the armor. He looks at the tribesmen and holds his hands up.... "Anything else?"

Gerdane's eyes never left the Draconian as he removed his armor. His build was impressive, and his fierceness stayed in his eyes. The wilders weren't afraid. The two guards at the cell's back were now at his sides, weapons leveled towards the broad space of his shoulders. Their four spears tilted to the ground as the jailor spoke again, unamused. "No. You are not. Empty your pockets, and I'll leave you your pants."

The Guardian smiled at the men, his scales slowly moved like small waves down his skin. He went though his pockets, and slowly toke out the card... he puts in his mouth and removes the other things out of his pocket.. he smiles as he looks at the guards. His tongue slowly slides out with the card."Atleast let me carry my I.D. someone has know who I am when you try to kill me." He played

Krayth tensed at Liliana's touch, and stepped away from her. As the Anima turned to face her, Beyruun remained in his hand. "I owe you debts that life cannot repay. You've saved my life, my mind, and my people. This place is yours to wander and rest in as you wish, but nothing is to be gained by wasting this time. I -saw- him. It is like he is a part of The Void. It may take my soul for my actions, and I will go to my master with my offering unmade. I must train them. He is not like mortal men, but he can be killed. I must be ready. They must be ready-" As Krayth's eyes fell onto the still, fainted frame of the younger of the Seers, he realized he was raising his voice. He took a breath, and found his heart racing. He swept the blood crusted and matted tangles of hair from his eyes, and knew that even after so many souls he had not eaten for two days. He refocused, eyes going out to Kinetav who was in the distance as Gerdane was searching one of the Legion in front of his cage. He needed time to not think.

As he moved to collect the girl from the floor and set her over his shoulder the Lord said, " Someone must tend to her..."

Gerdane wasn't playing. Before the Draconian could finish his mockery, the scar-faced wilder whipped the flat of his ax against the side of the joker's open mouth. It was no merciful blow. The weight of the weapon's blade insured the cracking of bone and the breaking of teeth. Most importantly, it guaranteed was that the crimson card on his tongue would now be on the floor. "Valdiir only told me to take your gun fingers, Drakul." The tribesman bared his teeth, eager for another reason to knock more teeth out of the Legionaire's scaly snout. The guard to the Draconian's closest left set the tip of his spear gently against the surface of the ID and slid it to him as the three other guards lowered their weapons again.

"I can just as easily take your tongue."

The Guardian head shakes as he gets hit by the ax.... her closed his eyes and started to laugh... almost a low snickering."You don't get it do you? I am one of the Guardians, Sore my soul to the Marshall! Now you think beating me will get you anywhere...?" His scales were armor like so they soften the blow, he was bleeding but he didn't have in broken bones. " His eye glances at the I.D. Card and snarls"Touch it again and I will destroy you.... that is not yours to play with..." he glared at the one with card...."That is Cidetal Property ..... not legions stealing from there is your graves..."

"Then please allow me to help you. Two hands upon the work makes for a lighter load," she said as Krayth picked up the unconscious seer. She said nothing of Krayth shying from her touch, knowing it was more than likely instinct that made him do it. "It will make for quicker work to train those who need it." She lightly touched the young seer, checking to make sure her mind was still intact. Thankful she had managed to lessen the mental blow she would have received, Liliana looked around the arena. For a small woman, her very voice held power. "All who seek training need step forward immediately," she called, voice cutting through the area more than Krayth's had.

The ID Card passed from the guard's hands to Gerdane as he stepped back from The Draconian and his place was filled by the guard's advancing spear. The spear did not stop, and as it completed the crescent formation in front of The Guardian they all pushed into him, corralling him back to the gate of his cage. Gerdane regarded the ID card in his hand, and its color. "Blood Red is Legion's Color. Just like the Barons'. Not like the Citadel. TA'ROOK! SEISHAL!" the wilder barked up to the second floor, and the low rumbling resumed.
