For Lenard Smith, the closest he would ever get to 'city life' passed by his window every couple of months, leaving a trail of black smoke in the wake of a deep, roaring engine. On the side of town where golden, high-rising beams were planted instead of built, and the only stars one saw were the center pieces to an empty black sky, a simpleton if by any other name would stand behind those large white trucks and watch as the winding, hillside roads took the vehicles out of sight.

Lenny very rarely thought deeply on any given subject. He was humbled by his lifestyle, home schooled and employed on the household farm by the age of 9. His mentality lacked greatly, the ability to understand simple math problems and to implicate proper punctuation a great hindrance to him that not even the boy knew to be the case. Any friends he or his younger sisters made were those of a similar and simple sort...there were very few things the children of the countryside could talk about or play with...except for, of course, to look forward to those Tuesdays or Thursdays when their hard work would be wrapped up and taken away by men of strange and yet impressive calibers. When they could dance in the rain of dust that was often kicked up from the occasional spin-outs of any particular visit.

But for Lenny these days meant much more than just a welcomed pat on the head or flick of a dime...No, for Lenny it sparked a curiosity like no other, one that grew wild and rampant when one man told the boy of the many adventures there were to be had within such a place as the City. Tall tales they may have been, but Lenard Smith took the stories and let them pulse throughout his entirety. What had at one time been purely a childlike dream was quickly and adversely becoming an obsession...Kindness and thoughtfulness rotted away within him, making room for the greed that would follow. Spitting cruelty and hatred onto others dragged the boy deeper into his longing and lusting; this evil love-affair with an idea he no longer could deny turning his world inside out.
What is on the other side of the pasture seemed to be in his eyes always, looking for the next best thing in a world of imperfections...it drove him mad to watch as the Earth turned and progressed while he, at the age of 12, made no progression at all. This madness grew to be something none could have anticipated…he had changed, no longer pure and poliet.

A cruel, selfish, inconsiderate bully who would tear down those with high hopes the moment he caught wind, stalked the halls of their tiny home with a hatred for his upbringing until he simply could not take any more of it...

How much of your sign up characters past, name, and history do they remember?: None. His new, not-so-favorable personality will carry over but he will have no idea why he is the way he is.

Name: Amaris
Personality: Lazy artist, who procrastinates at life, but is inspired by the world and loves to just chill. She enjoys all who aren't telling her what to do and if you are telling her what to do expect her her question it, until the subject is good and buried.

Sample writing: Amaris sat on her bed starring up at the ceiling. She had been told several times to pack her suitcase, the green one, the one lacking artistic expression. She would much rather not, no she was content to sit on her bed and the ignores the calls to her. Those which were shouting direction, which she had no desire to heed. She would at the last minute when the issue was pushed. It was the same with everything for her, chores, homework, shopping. Put it off and ignore your superiors, yeah that was the way.

She rolled over to look at the mural on the wall, the one that had appeared last summer and had gotten her into a lot of trouble, not that she cared. It was questioned as to why she could be so into her art, but nothing else. An exaggerated sigh, blew a tuff of hair out of her face, as a last warning was issued to her making her drag her way off the bed, to find said suitcase, and a something to mark it up with preferably a ravor. She'd carve a mural into her suitcase and grin at her oppressors.

Where were they going anyway, she had asked a million time and managed to even get smacked and growled at the last few times. Alright so she could be a bit irritating, did not often know when enough was enough and she liked to push the issue, but who didnt, right? Rolling her eyes she continued her search under a mountain of clothes or two or three. Okay so she had actually lost count, but whatever right, there were clean clothes over there and where was the dirty pile. Crawling on her knees she was certain she saw a bit a green, but it turned out it was a sandwich from a week ago, maybe two. She sniffed it, made a face and pushed it away before shimming under the bed.

Jackpot, there it was, now to toss the necessities in, art supplies first, maybe she would be inspired. Well she would definitely be inspired actually she wondered if she could incorporate that sandwich into the suitcase mural.

Final warning, Amaris flung things into her suitcase at random, her art supplies were packed properly. Was that clean? Oh she hoped. Flip, zip, snap, tug .... tug ... tug, toss, thunder down the steps. Ready!

Name: Corrin A. Whittleton
Persona: A very dull, and apathetic fello. He hardly shows an interest in anything; at least in the presence of others. He's stuck in a crappy desk job, listening to unhappy people yak on phones all day. A smile on his face is like a lizard in the arctic; it's just not gonna happen. His voice is always in a mumbled monotone, his clothes out-dated, and bland, appearance just the same. There's really not much to him, unless you could hear his thoughts...

The rain. How jealous he was of it. How it poured when ever it was tired of lingering within the heavens, diving onto the world below. The way it hissed in delight as it graced an object with its presence, and misted the air as it began to slowly fizz away. It left a pleasing scent behind, one that no candle or incense could capture. To travel and land where ever you pleased, ah, that was the life, so it seemed...
As he sat there, a pathetic excuse for a man, Corrin's dull brown eyes lifted slowly as a glint of something familiar. It stood out from the lethargic and plain scene, and instantly made him look up. A green suitcase. One he'd seen plenty times before. It belonged to a man named Jeremy Stuns. He worked at the same place as Corrin, but held such a more melodic tone to his demeanor. Such life, and bright eyes... something the lifeless clerk lacked. What was it that made Jeremy so happy, and seemingly invincible? surely it had to be some sort of spell... how could anyone survive in a place like that? But it was mere jealousy that clutched to Corrin's luke warm heart. Jealousy, and nothing more.

Hm... probably for their history/past, it would just be mere vague images from time to time. Name wise, it'd be like having something on the tip of your tongue... but you just can't place it properly.

Name: Gwenny
Personality: Gwenny is so optimistic and upbeat, it borders on infuriating at times. She thinks that nothing can go wrong, and then when it does, she's convinced there's got to be a reason and something good will come out of it. She sees the good in everyone but at random intervals, seems to be able to comment on the bad with surprising cynicism and wit. Gwenny considers herself a sweet tempered, cheerful and cute person, at times she doubts herself, having a bit of a self-confidence issue, but always manages to push it to the back of her mind.

One of her favorite possessions is a green suitcase her grandmother gave to her when she took her on week long vacations.

Georgio likes people. He could watch them all day.

In fact, he does.

By trade, he’s a critic. He’s tasted the finest the city has to offer, and he’s traveled almost everywhere. But his passion is people. Too many times he has sat at airports, catalouging what passes by. He takes photographs when and wherever he can.

And he builds cities. He’s never lived anywhere for more than a few months at a time. In Seattle, there’s a radio tower and the bustle of people living their lives; in the Capital, there’s an ivory house surrounded by squalor. He doesn’t care much for the typewritter, nor the sting of gin. They’re too cold, too necessary - not like the smell of wood shavings or the the smile between lovers meeting at the train. Time and care crafts tiny people living within three by three feet, walking dogs, window-shopping, or even sitting at the local cafe. Georgio has never officially met any of these people -as a general rule, he tends to find himself disenchanted when posing actual conversation (what is the world coming to)- and never will. He much prefers the stories he makes up for them. This one woman, who tugged her two children down the sidewalk, was a single mother with three children, all of whom she adopted on account of welfare. She’ll give them a good enough home, though. They’re hurrying back home in time to meet a man (who he put further down the street) with a green suitcase. He gets to decide whether or not she’s fit for raising these children, but is really more concerned about going to Vegas with his buddies this weekend. Along with other residents of the diorama, they form a snapshot of the world as it is at the time.

When they are finished, Georgio picks up and moves, using the premise of his job. And with every arrival, he picks a place to leave behind a project. There’s something a little thrilling about giving Miami to a bar in Dublin, or Paris to an urchin in Krakow.

Please write a small 'sample writing' post so we know you are at least competent in writing, with a "dummy" character profile, ie: Name, a little about them, personality, etc. Keep it under 500 words.Jakob was not your average student, almost skinny enough that when you look at him sideways you would swear he wasn’t there at all and tall enough that he almost always seem to be crouching just slightly to avoid another door frame or random over hanging lamp. He prefers not to enter a room until invited in. He will never break a mirror (he owns none just to be safe of this; hence why he also has a case of bed head 24/7). He won’t walk under ladders, he hates the number 13 and doesn’t trust 7 much either. Rather then live in a dorm. (Remember he hates entering places uninvited which makes getting to his room rather hard.) He lives out on the campus living out of his green suitcase. He also believes by moving where he sleeps each night the Boogiemen can’t track him.

To those who can track Jakob down long enough to chat, he’s actually not that bad, superstitious about the most mundane things, yes, but still a decent guy who just happens to have some very odd quirks. The trick is learning the quirks so you don’t send him running in the other direction by offending his ancestors and then accidentally crossing that black cat’s path or some sort of crazy thought. After all, as far as Jakob is concerned better safe than sorry, and that’s why he sleeps with a tin hat on.
