Darkness, everywhere, pulling you down, suffocating you. Your mind struggles to resurface against the tide of nothing that tries to wash you away. And then...
You wake.
Disoriented and short of breath, you panic.
Where am I?!
What's covering my face?
It's so hot!
It won't come off?!
Why am I here?! I should be...
And then...
...who am I?
A voice rings out clearly through your confusion, "Welcome to your first test and the start of basic training. Now don't panic at the word 'test' because there's only one way to fail. So if you happen to live past this week, congratulations: you'll have passed with flying colours."

You're sitting at a desk inside a classroom, and looking around you see that all the desks are filled by...people? It's hard to say, what's not covered by their odd suits is covered by gloves and gasmasks. It's then that you realize why breathing's so odd right now, and you may even try to take it off like some of the others are but then, the speaker interrupts.
"I wouldn't try that if I were you, the results would be downright explosive," it's a man's voice, coming from the large cloaked figure at the front of the room. "...and as a human, you may find that condition rather more permanent than that which we face. I wouldn't try talking either, probably havin a hard enough time just breathing, right now." He pauses and then tries to reassure everyone, "You'll adjust in no time, alright?"
With a short nod he lifts up a stack of papers and waves them in the air. "Now, you may be a little upset given the circumstance, but despite whatever suspicions you may have, you want to be here. Well, at the very least it was your decision, made for any number of reasons. But we don't need those who don't want to do the job, and you are not here against your will." Again he waves the papers, "These here are release forms signed by you before you set foot in this place, not that you'd recognize your own damn names at the moment. But if you last past the first test, it'll come back to you."
Your head begins to feel fuzzy and you're wondering if he was lying about the mask, you look around and see the others begin to droop their heads. The man at the front continues on, unconcerned, "Now you all are gonna take another quick little nap. And when you wake up, you'll find yourself within another area with some other candidates. You'll have a pack with the tools to ensure the survival, provided you are as worthwhile as we happen to be hoping." Your vision grows dark, and the last thing you hear is, "You'll also have a number. That number is how you will identify yourself from now until you have earned something better."
