Name: Marten Whitaker
Nickname: Marty
Age: 23
Birthday: April 4
Sign: Aries
Gemstone: Bloodstone
Blood Type: O
Fav. Food: Cheesy Potato and Leek Bake *0*
Hated Food: Biscuits and gravy D: Seriously, man. It looks like snot. So gross.
School: N/A
Hobbies: Pop Culture Trivia - Ever heard the phrase 'Fount of Useless Trivia'? Well, Marten considers it his unoffical title. He's got it printed on his *ahem* business card right after Adorable Gay Man and Booty Shaker Par Excellence. Marten adores trivia and pop culture. Ask him to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon using ridiculously obscure actors or directors and he can do it. And usually within 5 minutes, no less. There is no movie so bad, no 80s pop group so obscure that Marten has never heard of them. This is a man who revels in being able to pull random facts out of thin air. Enter into a game of Trivial Pursuit at your own risk.
You Should be Dancin' - Dancing is not only Marten's livelihood, it is also one of his consuming passions. He'll claim he's been dancing since birth, but it's really more like since 5th grade. And he keeps in practice by going out to the clubs as often as he is able. And entering into any dance competition he can find. It doesn't bother Marten to be in a profession most think of as effeminate. He'll simply tell his taunter that he enjoys being one of the few roosters in the henhouse and then wink knowingly. He has been known to watch Dancing with the Stars and shake his head in despair at some of the performances. One of his dreams is to be one of the professional dancers on the show. Marten is dead certain that he'd be the best one there.
Candy Making - Do you like candy? Marten likes candy. So much so that he begged his grandmother to teach him how to make his own. The way he sees it, homemade candy is not only tastier, it is also a bit healthier. No nasty preservatives or wax involved! Marten personally feels that making candy is not only relaxing, but economical since he can gift away the extra stuff to the people he loves. That and it's pretty darned fun to wear some of his candy creations out to the club and see who is first to make a cute innuendo.
Virtues: One Honorable Dude - Hey, Marten might enjoy a bit of tomcatting around, and sure, he can be a catty sonuvabitch, but he's also pretty damn fair minded! Marten is the type of person who, though he's a cad himself, hates to see others taken advantage of or hurt. Dude or lady, if he sees someone being mistreated, he will stand up for them. The way he sees it, he has a pretty unbreakable set of ethics and his own rigid moral code. If people are going to get hurt, he'd rather it be the ones who are in the wrong. He will listen to all sides before choosing one. And once he's chosen, you have a knight is slightly tarnished white armor who will stand by you for as long as you need.
Don't Worry, Be Happy - Marten is a crack rock of pure joy, wrapped in a baggie of sheer glee, hidden in the pocket of happiness. If he and Wayne Coyne were to ever meet, the resultant uberbliss from that meeting could power a city for the next 50 years. Marten is an eternal optimist. If he's ever down, he keeps it well hidden and thinks happy thoughts involving puppies and the cute boy who works at the movie theater until his mood improves. After all, life is there to be lived and joyfully experienced. He figures his Gramma put it the best when she told him that God gave him a brain to think for himself and a heart to love the world. And that's exactly what he plans to do. Whether the world likes it or not.
It's a Beautiful World - Though he may never come right out and say it, Marten truly and with all his heart believes in the inherent beauty and goodness of the world. As a practicing Pagan, he's learned to see the amazing gorgeousness of the little facets of every day life. Sure, some people might be misguided and maybe even evil, but deep down, Marten knows that mankind on the whole is a decent lot. They just need to be reminded occasionally. In his bones, Marten is absolutely convinced that all the world needs is a little light and love to help nudge it back on track. Evil is flitting and temporary. Goodness and decency are built to last.
Flaws: Wry so srs? - Though happy and easy going overall, there are times when Marten will become too intense for his own good. He will push himself to do better, be better, live better than those around him. Most often this intensity takes over in the dance studio and he's given himself a fair share of physical injuries. There have, however, been those times when the sheer ugliness of the people around him has made Marten cry and drive his fist into the wall. He doesn't understand how people can enjoy hurting others and if he thinks too hard about it, he'll drive himself into a towering fit of depression-rage. And if the mental and physcial intensities meet.... well. Let's just say that these are the times to leave Marten alone to stew in his apartment for a few days and let him work out his frustration on his own.
Ah, Innocence! - There are no two ways about it. Marten may be incredibly worldly in some regards, but when it comes to people, he is downright, damn dumb. Though we guess naive is a nicer way of putting it. Marten is too good at seeing the good in people. He frequently misses seeing the bad. And when he does see it, his love of decency causes him to try and overlook the bad or rationalize it away by saying that they just don't know better! They'll improve soon, he's sure of it. And meanwhile, those who are less than honorable and aware of Marten's worldview will act in a way that placates and manipulates Marten's need to goodness and light in all things.
I am SO Awesome - Marten is a happy boy. Marten sees sweetness and light where e'er he goes. Marten is also a pain in the a** who acts smug and superior when he is in the right. Or when he thinks he is in the right. Sure, everyone's allowed a bit of smugness, but Marten carries it to extremes and has a terrible habit of gloating and wallowing in his smugness. And please, don't ever try to point out how much of an a** he's being. He'll turn around and find ways to rationalize his sense of moral superiority and just make himself even more unbearable. Thankfully, this moods aren't constant. But they happen often enough that his friends know when to escape when they see a certain smile on his face.

What Category is This For? Semi-Custom How Many Powered Characters Do You Own? 1 - Sailor Requiem Link to Quest Thread: [Link] Name: Tag Swagger Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant Cummingtonite (As in ‘coming tonight to you live’…or the other way, if you're a gutter mind.) Nickname: Mr. Ron Burgundy (mockingly by his friends) Age: 25 Birthday: July 29 Sign: Leo Gemstone: Ruby Blood Type: AB Fav. Food: Filet mignon with a glass of red wine. Hated Food: Goat balls. He’s tried them. They taste like goat balls. School: Adult Hobbies: Journalism: Tag is a reporter for Destiny City’s local news station, WKDC, Channel 6 News. He’s a pretty well known reporter in the city, noted for his good looks, charisma and dedication to the story. He is typically assigned to crime or investigative stories, and in his interviews doesn’t shy away from asking the tougher questions if it means getting a more cutting-edge story. Journalism is not just a job for Tag, it’s a major influence on his life and aspirations. His fascination with journalism began in high school writing for the school newspaper. He quickly discovered how the news media influence the minds of the public, and this type of power was very intriguing to him, so he continued on in this path. He graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from DCU while maintaining an internship at WKDC. His internship became a paid job and he quickly rose through the ranks after scoring well with several female demographics and covering groundbreaking stories. He’s content with the position he holds now, but is willing and ready to do anything it takes to rise further in the ranks. Picking up Chicks: Tag is a single, attractive, charismatic guy with local-celebrity status and only in his mid 20s. So, yes, he gets around the block. He enjoys the single life and having one-night stands. He doesn't rule out the possibility of girlfriends, but he doesn't get involved too seriously in a relationship. He's just looking for fun and sex, and if things start getting serious, something usually goes awry and he ends up single again. He's a little bit of a commitment-phobe, but he wouldn't admit that. Hanging Out with his Son: Tag has a two year old son, Liam, from a past relationship. Liam lives with his mother, Chelsea, a few blocks away from his apartment. While Tag wasn’t ready to raise a son, he found that Liam has been a blessing in his life. His relationship with Chelsea has lost whatever romance once existed, and was never too serious in the first place. Tag is a good father to Liam, but does not hold custody, only visitation rights. As such, he does his best to show to Chelsea that he is there for the both of them, and he's developed a strong platonic relationship with her that extends outside of their time spent with Liam. Basketball: Tag plays basketball with his friends in a court across the street from his apartment building. He’s a decent player but the worst of the guys he plays with, but it’s a good source of fitness and a good deal of fun. He played some intramural basketball in high school, and at DCU he just played with his friends in no official league. Basketball is much more a form of exercise and social bonding than it is a truly passionate hobby of his own, but it is something he does often. Virtues:Charismatic: Tag knows how to tell a story in a way to captivate his audience, or just to entertain a group of friends. He uses his words carefully, and knows how to sweet talk his way out of anything. And no, babe, those pants don’t make you look fat because there’s nothing out there that can make you look anything but the most beautiful woman on this planet. He knows just what people want to hear, and he gives them their wish. Hard-Working: Whatever the case may be, Tag will put in all his effort. Morals and integrity can be set aside when Tag is assigned to a task. If he’s assigned to cover a story about the city’s oldest dog’s birthday, he won’t be happy about it, but he’ll make one hell of a story out of it. Luckily, these types of stories are beneath his ranks, he is usually assigned to investigative or crime stories, in which he gets right into the action and reports the story as best as it can be told. Tag gives his work his 110%. Charitable: Tag isn’t in this business for the money, he’s in it for the power. He’s a financially stable man with a decent salary, and he also donates a fair amount of his earnings and time to local charities (often underprivileged children or medical research) and often pushes to sponsor these charities in his broadcasts. Ever since Liam was born, he’s donated much more, and more frequently to children-oriented programs. His motivations for his charitable donations aren't too selfish - he doesn't do it for the publicity or attention, but a bit of self-gratification. As a newscaster, he inspires to influence the world, and donating helps him feel that he is doing just that. By giving back to the community and helping others, he feel he is making some impact on the world and asserting a level of power and influence. He does care about the charities he donates too, he has compassion, but his donations are his way of inflating his own ego and demonstrating power in a healthier manner. Flaws:Power-Hungry & Manipulative: Tag knows how to get what he wants. Its not too difficult really – a little bit of charm here and there, and the willingness to do whatever it takes. Sacrifices to integrity may need to be made, but as long as nobody finds out about it, who really cares? His biggest concern is rising in the ranks in the news station; he's absolutely obsessed with power. He’s a pretty well-known reporter now, but he’d kill to become an anchorman. Don’t tempt him. The Douchebag Factor: You know that trait some people have, its something annoying about them but you can’t quite put your finger on it? But whatever it is, it causes you to label them as a douchebag? Tag is one of those individuals. He’s over-confident, flaunts his success, fully aware of his good looks and fan-following, loud, obnoxious, chauvinistic, and pretentious. Its not that he is an a** hole or mean to others, he just carries himself in such an obnoxiously perfect way that makes you want to punch him in his face. Full of s**t: The man has charm - but is what he saying truthful? Not always. He uses his charm to exaggerate stories, and often even flat-out lie. With his beautiful white smile, handsome face and carefully-chosen words, it is hard to detect when Tag is being honest or not. Hell, sometimes he hardly knows. He isn't a pathological liar, but he allows himself to believe in the mistruths that he tells, it eases his conscious. Because if Tag were to tell the truth, then truthfully babe, you do look fat in those pants - but its not the pants that make you look that way. He has no issue or guilt using his charm to tell a lie if it means getting what he wants, and he's grown so accustomed to it that its practically an impulse. As a journalist, if a story isn't that interesting, he'll beef up the story by adding in his own version of the story. He'll get the facts out there, but he knows how to lie to make a story of the city's oldest woman blowing out her birthday candles sound like the world's oldest woman defused a bomb using only her breath. For bigger stories that are more cutting edge, he'll report his own opinions and findings as facts, tailoring the story in a way that satisfies him. Fatherhood: Tag's son is his greatest weakness. He's a father who cares deeply about his son and isn't allowed to spend as much time with him as he'd like to due to only having visitation rights. He is extremely protective of both his son and of Chelsea, and would do anything to ensure their safety. As such, he can be very easily manipulated if Chelsea or Liam's lives, reputation, safety or livelihood are at stake. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: Cool, captivating blue-green eyes. Hair: ‘Dirty-blonde’ hair. Short-cut and professional. A classic masculine haircut, lightly styled. No facial hair. Face: Strong facial features. Classic attractive, charming looks. Civilian Clothes: Business casual attire. --NEGAVERSE-- Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant Cummingtonite Challenge: Coming tonight to you live, this is your demise! Lieutenant Weapon: Microphone (He can beat people with it, but its non-functional.) Captain Weapon: Functional Microphone (A functional microphone [magically works without speakers!]. He can beat people with it.) General Weapon: Super-Amped Microphone (Same microphone as before, and this one also has a setting that screeches so loudly that it may distract or disorient others, or at least provide one nasty headache. Cummingtonite is not immune to these headaches. He can beat people with it.) Inspiration Images: Designer suits (courtesy of GQ): [1][2][3]

What Category is This For? A semi-custom, please! character upgrade. How Many Powered Characters Do You Own? two! ~ Lt. Proustite, and Ophelia Link to Quest Thread: click!Name: Vanessa Alicia Rae Nickname: dipswitch, idiot, loud-mouth (she does not like these very much), SOOPER VAN Age: 18 Birthday: April 4th Sign: Aries Gemstone: diamond Blood Type: the red kind, DUH. (b-) Fav. Food: anything barbecued Hated Food: celery, girly stuff School: Meadoview Public High School Hobbies:drum playing -- "Dad always says he knows me better than I know myself, and I never really believed him until last Christmas. He bought me this SWEET a** drum set and I was so happy I cried. 'Dad,' I said, 'How did you know its what I always wanted?' and he just smiled at me and, yeah, pretty much I love him BIG TIME. The drum set isn't brand new or anything, 'cause we can never afford anything shiny, and one of the cymbals is broken. But that's a-okay, because I love it and the bass drum still works AWESOME. It makes a big noise, and I like that. I practice a lot, and John Jr. makes me really angry when he walks by with earplugs and a scowl on his face. He doesn't know it yet, but I am going to be famous and then I'm not going to share any of my dough with him." skateboarding -- "This is a lot of fun. Like riding roller coasters and paintball, but free. I used to suck, but now I'm really good, and I take my board everywhere with me. Its not in that great of shape, but I love it anyways. And now I am better than everyone at the skatepark, even. MUCH better than that fool Billy Robbins with his shiny board who got his girlfriend to break my nose for beating him. It pissed me off, a lot, but it was also kinda not that big o' deal because I always hurt myself trying out new cool stunts and, as my papa would say, 'Always flirting with disaster!' He doesn't know it, but he doesn't know what fun is. But, anyways, I gave her two black eyes and a split lip for hitting me and then Billy dumped her because she wasn't pretty anymore." saving lives, hunting bad guys, and getting into trouble -- "There's a lot of crazy jerks running around Destiny City, and monsters too. The crime rate is THROUGH THE ROOF. Sometimes literally. When I'm not at school or babysitting John Jr, I try to sort out some of the mess. I'm kinda like Batman, except my batmobile is a skateboard and I don't have a utility belt… probably I could use a fanny pack. ANYWAYS. I love helping people. It makes me feel good. This way, I get to kick some evil asses too." homework -- "So- I was supposed to graduate last year, but didn't get around to it because my grades sucked too much. Big Willy actually FIRED me so that I could focus more on school, and dad's always giving me that 'you better be done your homework, young lady!' look. I am doing better in school because of it, and that's sort of cool because I don't want to do this AGAIN. John Jr is making me read more, too. We have races. I think he cheats." Virtues: loud and proud-- Vanessa knows who she is, loves where she comes from, and isn't afraid to tell it like it is. An extrovert to the extreme; she's stubbornly confident, pushy and a friend to everyone and anyone that stays out of her way. An aspiring leader and a girl who likes to dominate, Vanessa is naturally attracted to submissive personalities and people willing to follow her. She lives for having cheerleaders. This is not to say that she can't have friendships with characters that won't yield to her forceful personality. She is too proud to be so inconsiderate, and regards strength and power (and, consequently, characters that embody these two qualities) with respect. It is just that she prefers to lead rather than to follow. fierce -- A staunch admirer of strength and power, Vanessa does her best to live up to her own ideals. She is steadfastly committed to every cause that strikes her fancy, and longs to, most of all, do good in the world. Expressive and emotional, Vanessa's heartfelt desire to be good sometimes copulates with self-destruction, but this is not born from pessimism. Rather, it is the child of faith. Vanessa isn't above sacrificing herself for the greater good. Is there, after all, truly any display of strength greater than dying for what you believe in? protective -- Honourable and affectionate, it doesn't take much for Vanessa to consider someone a friend (especially if they agree with her) and she is swift to attachment. She can not abide the suffering of loved ones or even casual acquaintances, and is passionately protective of all things she believes to be good, especially if they can not defend themselves. adrenaline-junkie -- Competitive and aggressive, Vanessa's got a lot of pent up energy, which is channeled wonderfully into all kinds of sports. She's a girl who likes to live on the wild side, and she adores games and activities that get her adrenaline pumping. Feel like sky-diving without a parachute? Got a sudden hankering for shark wrestling? Wanna climb mount everest naked? "Yes, that's a bomb and I know we're supposed to clip -this- wire, but let's just snip this one instead and see what happens, kay? I wanna ride the wave of the explosion, baby!" Flaws: outspoken -- Brash and opinionated, Vanessa's loud-mouth is infamous for getting her into trouble. This is uncool because she is not witty, nor is she a quick-thinker and, more than anything in the world, Vanessa hates to lose. While she might enjoy defending the unjustly accused in court, Vanessa would, even after her impassioned ramblings and slamming her fist against the table, make a very poor lawyer, no matter how dedicated. loose-cannon -- Temper. Temper. Temper. Vanessa's is on a very short, although, thankfully, thick string. Easily provoked and swiftly irritated, this girl's anger tends to build up over time. It accumulates, sometimes quickly, sometimes not-so-quickly, but almost always rears its ugly head in a veritable explosion of fury. Not naturally clever in the first place, Vanessa's stubborn anger can make it difficult for her to think clearly, and she can be (depending on it's intensity) blinded by rage. impatient -- 'Later' isn't a word Vanessa often uses, or likes to hear. She likes things done, and she likes them done ' now.' Pushy and obstinate, Vanessa understands that, sometimes, if you want it done right, you've just gotta do it yourself. Idle behaviour makes her nauseous, and Vanessa can get very bossy when someone starts pushing her buttons. dense -- Thinking is not one of Vanessa's favourite past times. In fact, its not something she does very much of at all. Bored by silly, useless things like reading and paying attention in class, or listening when she's told something; Vanessa is very much an idiot. This, combined with everything else, makes her a danger to herself and to others. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: golden, turned slightly downwards Hair: short, afro-ish, frizzy, dark natural auburn Face: heart-shaped face, tanned skin, bottom lip is fleshier than top lip, mouth is wide Clothes: N/A -- Senshi Alias: Sailor Vulcan Senshi Element: Volcanoes Challenge: "In the name of Vulcan, prepare for meltdown!" Attacks: Sailor Scout Attack: "Vulcan Shield!" Following a quick series of hisses and barely-there earthquakes, multiple jets of steam and sulphur dioxide erupt from small fissures in the ground surrounding Vulcan, effectively forming a ring around her and a barrier between any opponents. The effect of the steam is to scald, and also to create a protective wall. In this form, Vulcan must remain stationary for the shield to hold for the whole of it's duration. Allies and innocent bystanders are immune to the effects of the steam, and can be likewise shielded if standing close enough to Vulcan. It lasts for about 35 seconds, and is possible to avoid. This attack is mostly defensive and can only be performed twice per battle. Super Sailor Scout Attack: " Extreme Vulcan Shield!" Following a quick series of hisses and a miniature earthquake, multiple jets of steam and sulphur dioxide erupt from small fissures in the ground surrounding Vulcan, effectively forming a ring around her and a barrier between any opponents. The effect of the steam is to scald, and also to create a protective wall. In this form, Vulcan can move through the steam without breaking the wall and continue to fight. Allies and innocent bystanders are immune to the effects of the steam. This attack is an offensive/defensive combination, can only be performed once per battle, and lasts for about 20 seconds. If Vulcan is knocked unconscious or at all disoriented while the wall is up, it crumbles along with her. Eternal Sailor Attack: "Vulcan Eruption!" The floor shakes, the walls rattle and from a fissure in the ground explodes a mixture of molten-rock, volcanic ash and poisonous fumes. This attack is not very accurate, as the direction of the debris can not really be controlled. It is manipulated by Vulcan's temper, and blows according to the intensity of her fury. This makes it unpredictable and dangerous, and fortunately difficult for her to tap into- the madder she is, the stronger it gets, and she does have to be furious in order to pull this attack off successfully. If contact is made with an opponent, the opponent is badly burned and potentially knocked unconscious from the fumes. This attack can only be performed once per battle, and lasts for about 20 seconds. It is offensive and very destructive, but possible to avoid. Only Vulcan is immune to this. What Category is This For? Semi Custom How Many Powered Characters Do You Own? 0 (I won a Template Raffle, but im working on it. Really.) Link to Quest Thread: ... Um, here? (Warning! Extremely old!) Name: Jerry Timblex Nickname: Jer, Jer-jer, Age: 16 Birthday: November 3 Sign: Scorpio Gemstone: Obsidian Blood Type: AB- Fav. Food: He's a VEGAN! So, anything with vegetables. Namely Carrots. Hated Food: Anything With meat. School: Meadowview Hobbies: Planting: There's just, something about putting a seed in the eartt, seeing it grow and the day were it reaches maturity. He. Loves. Green. The day he moved, he went straight to the backyard and made a garden. Jerry mostly likes planting flax and carrots. Skateboarding: After he moved, his parents gave him a skateboard to "comfort" him. Apparently it was from Lionel (His best friend). He didn't know ANYTHING about skating. So he just left it in his room collecting dust for a few days. After that, he was UBER bored! So, at a desperate attempt to be UN-bored, he went skateboarding. Couldn't stop doing it ever since. He treasures his board like a pirate treasures his gold. Cooking: He once grew a pumpkin, but Halloween was already over, so making it into a jack-o-lantern wasn't an option. So he baked it into a pumpkin pie TO DIE FOR! Then he started experimenting with vegetables from his garden. Now, he cooks for fun. And because he likes to! Virtues:Truthful: He doesn't lie. In fact, he CAN'T lie. For some weird reason, he is a horrible liar. HORRIBLE. You don't need to be a body language specialist to know when he's lying. Jerry's eyes starts to twitch, he starts to sweat like a pig, and stutter. A lot. And a lot of spasms. So he tries to not lie as much as possible. Perseverance: He will not give up just because the cookies got burnt, nor because he got an infection to the knee, or because he just fell of a flight of stairs. He won't give up until he got it moderately right. He will not stop. No. Really. Jerry will not stop. Flaws:Bad Luck:He doesn't know why, but he attracts bad luck. A lot of bad luck. Maybe its because of the fact that he steps/roll over a few hundred cracks every day, or that he passes by black cats, or the fact that he broke his mirror. Nobody knows. Jer just has bad luck every where he goes. Shy:He isn't the type to make first moves. When around strangers, he won't talk much. Just do whatever he was doing or walk away. So he won't make much friends anytime soon. He isn't xenophobic, he just doesn't know how people think in Destiny City. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: Green eyes. Hair: Flat, blue hair with a few blond streaks here and there. Face: Heart shaped. Clothes: N/A Senshi Alias: Sailor Dionysus Senshi Element: Senshi of Agriculture Challenge: Your growth has been stunted! Attacks:Sailor Scout Attack: Earth's Might He puts his hand out and yells PLOW. After a few seconds, the earth would have plowed with a torpedo affect. It acts like, if an invisible torpedo is speeding ahead. But, it can only go for 1 min or until it hits a wall. And can only go into a straight line. Super Sailor Scout Attack: Earth's Shoot Same thing as above. Only goes in not 1, not 2, but 3 straight lines and lasts 1 min 30. Eternal Sailor Attack: Bless the Earth He snaps his fingers 3 times (like a girl), then claps, then whistles. Then awkwardly, nothing happens. For like a split second. Then his fingers has a tingling sensation. The earth will then turn bumpy/slippery where he points it. He can use this attack 3-5 times. Inspiration Images: [ X] Try to put this into his sleeves somehow.

What Category is This For? Premade (Natsube’s Adult Female)
How Many Powered Characters Do You Own? One!
Link to Quest Thread: N/A
Name: Riley Maddison
Nickname: N/A
Age: 32
Birthday: May 13th
Sign: Taurus
Gemstone: Emerald
Blood Type: AB-
Fav. Food: Fruit Parfait. Not only is it more healthy than a burger, but it comes in a cup for convenience!
Hated Food: Corn on the cob, because it has a really annoying way of getting stuck in your teeth.
School: N/A
Hobbies: Teaching – Riley is a (fairly new) professor at Destiny City University and is very passionate about sharing her work and the work of her comrades with eager young minds. She has a PhD in Folklore and she worked hard to get it. Of course, there aren’t really that many options for a Folklorist in the world, so teaching became her goal in life with her own interests in research and documentation falling to the backburner until she gets the time to explore it more. Right now she mostly just focuses on becoming a successful professor since she’s still fairly new to the game.
Research – Riley’s biggest passion in life is researching folklore, writing about it, and interviewing people for her work. It’s a slow process since she works at the university and is trying to settle in to that pattern still. One day she hopes she’ll be able to publish some of the stuff she’s been working on in her down time.
Supernatural – One of the sole reasons that Riley got into folklore in the first place was her love of the supernatural. Ghosts, goblins, fairies – she loves it all. She has taken multiple classes during her schooling, read hundreds of books and has probably watched just as many documentaries. Not only that, but she’s guaranteed to watch just about any TV show dealing with it on television – she’s a hardcore Supernatural fan, unsurprisingly.
Ghost Hunting – This is more of a companion hobby to her love of the supernatural, but Riley loves a good ghost hunt. She often visits haunted sites across America in the hopes of catching something on film or even with her tape recorder. She’s been successful a few times (in her opinion) and has committed everything she finds to her research.
Virtues: Everything has its proper place - Riley is organized, at least when it comes to her work space, house, and schedules. Everything she owns has a proper place in her house or her office and she’s very good about making sure there’s never any clutter anywhere. This might be a method of self-preservation since the less stuff is lying around, the less she has the ability to run into. Then again, she was always raised with that same kind of mindset, passed down from an OCD (Riley’s words) mother. If only she could get her attention span to cooperate with the rest of her life, then she’d really be on the ball.
Question everything - Riley is naturally curious and this presents itself in an undying need to know what things are and how they work. This ranges from new technology she uses right down to the meaning of life. She can always figure out how to work the VCR, she knows the pros and cons of every phone she’s ever bought, and she never has problems resetting the time on her car’s radio. She’s not exactly technologically inclined (she wouldn’t be able to tell you how to fix your red ring of death) but she makes a point of knowing how to work everything she buys – there’s a user manual for a reason! When it comes down to the meaning of life, she’s still figuring that out. She has, however, made some great progress on understanding ghosts and other supernatural beings through her curiosity and investigations. If there’s a mystery happening in town, you can bet Riley will be there soon ready to study it and present her own theories.
Can you read my poker face? - Riley is pretty good at smiling in the face of failure and being polite to the snottiest kids you’ll ever find. Despite the fact that this requires quite a bit of bottling up real emotions, she knows when it is and isn’t appropriate to let your true feelings show. She doesn’t snap at her boss, she doesn’t ridicule kids unfairly and she most definitely doesn’t let anyone see her break down if she can help it. She’s a model of professionalism to anyone involved in her life, though people that know her well know the downfalls in trying to be so perfect.
Courage isn’t the absence of fear - Riley’s inquisitive nature has given rise to a fearless attitude. Her need to know what goes bump in the night means she isn’t going to lay in bed and pull her blankets over her head. What if she misses something really important? The things she already thinks she’s figured out make her even less likely to cower in the corner when mysterious footsteps come down the corridor. If she can put logic in a situation, there’s nothing left for her to fear from it. If she can’t, well, then she just has to figure it out!
Flaws: I swear it was just 8 o’clock five minutes ago - When Riley gets caught up in her work, she really gets caught up in it. Some people stay up until all hours of the night watching TV, playing video games, or surfing the net. Not Riley! When she’s still up at four a.m. it’s probably because she started something and lost track of time. Be it grading papers or taking notes from recorded interview sessions, Riley has a bad habit of letting what she loves get the best of her. She has to try really hard not to let herself get so lost that she misses class or has no time to sleep, but sometimes it happens. Thankfully she hasn’t missed more than a couple of classes since she started teaching (the ability to cancel via email is such a relief), but she’s definitely been late for meetings, parties, dinners and any other number of social gatherings.
That desk jumped right out in front of me - Riley is clumsy. Not your typical “oh I stubbed my toe” kind of clumsy – she’s sometimes a walking disaster. She always has at least one bruise that she can’t remember getting, either because the incident was so minimal or because it happens so often that she just brushes it off at this point. She has a bad habit of spilling drinks, dropping her phone, and there are an endless number of things she has run into at this point. FYI: she really hates street signs on the sidewalk.
Just waiting to explode - Riley has a bad habit of bottling up her feelings. She knows it’s not a good idea but she just can’t help it. She takes people’s criticism with smile, even if it’s unjust and uncalled for. She lets her students get away with more than she should. She even goes so far as to pretend nothing is wrong, even if the problems lie in the very person she’s talking to. At some point, Riley gets fed up and that’s when things get nasty. It usually happens after she’s had a string of bad days and you never quite know what might finally be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. She just simply breaks down and locks herself away, sobbing and cursing the world. Sometimes, if it’s really bad, she might snap on an unfortunate bystander before she retreats from the world (though it’s never for a prolonged amount of time). For those people that know her closely, it really does make her seem like a ticking time-bomb, even if it doesn’t happen that frequently.
More stubborn than a mule - If Riley thinks she has seen enough information on something, if she thinks she absolutely knows what the truth is, she is immovable. Unfortunately, it’s not that hard for her to convince herself that she is right. This happens from her opinions on her work to her opinions dealing with everyday life. Although she’s not outspoken in a rude or harmful way, she still expresses where she stands on a subject if questioned, often as if she were presenting undeniable facts. That speck in the photograph is definitely a ghost orb guys, there’s no way dust can create that pattern! She does seem to have problems differentiating between fact and opinion, which can be more than irritating for anyone trying to debate the validity of her opinions or work. She doesn’t just “take people’s word for it” which means she needs some evidence of their opinion if they have any hope of ever changing her mind.

What Category is This For? Female Adult Civ by Natsu
How Many Powered Characters Do You Own? 5 + 1 Civ
Link to Quest Thread: --
Name: Hope Jacquelyn Lynn
Nickname: Jackie
Age: 28
Birthday: September 18th
Sign: Virgo
Gemstone: Carnelian
Blood Type: A-
Fav. Food: Meat Lasagna
Hated Food: Oysters
Job: Fourth grade teacher at Knightside Elementary
Hobbies: Exercise ~ Hope loves exercise, mainly jogging and yoga. She wakes up every morning at five am to make sure that she gets at least one jog into her daily routine. She tries to go at least four miles a session, if not more. She’ll occasionally jog with a friend, but she generally prefers to jog alone so that she can set her own pace and clear her head.
Hope does her yoga in the evenings, usually before dinner. She finds it’s the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day of dealing with nine year olds. The twenty-nine year old has been doing yoga since she was in college and is quite adept at it, able to do difficult poses such as the Firefly and Little Thunderbolt.
Arts and Crafts ~ Hope has a passion for crafts. She loves puzzles, and do it yourself projects, and basically anything that requires a sewing machine, funky shape scissors, and a hot glue gun. She usually takes an inordinate amount of time on any one project because of her need to do it perfectly, but the finished result is something to be proud of. She likes crafts so much she even has a room in her home designated as her ‘Craft Room’.
Reading ~ Ever since she was a kid Hope loved reading. She loves fantasy books, and trashy romance novels; anything that allows her to escape to a different world, or time. There’s nothing she likes better than to curl up on the couch and lose herself in a book. She generally has a stack of library books that are ever changing sitting on her kitchen table. Hope also enjoys reading aloud and will sometimes read to her students.
Virtues: Patient ~ “You have the patient of a saint” is usually what Hope hears when she tells people she’s a fourth grade teacher. And for the most part it’s true. It’s hard to annoy the twenty-eight year old, or make her angry; especially when it comes to her students. She lets their antics roll off her back knowing that at nine years old they don’t have the same capacity for good behavior as adults do. Hope is patient with parents and other adults in her life as well though, not just children. She’s able to answer repetitive questions without getting snippy and short with them.
She’s also patient when it comes to waiting for things. She won’t nag, or try to rush things. She’s a firm believer in the saying ‘Good things come to those who wait’. If someone tells her they have the best surprise of her life, but she can’t have it for eighteen and a half minutes she’ll be able to wait that eighteen and a half minutes without bouncing up and down, or questioning what it is, or trying to find out what the surprise is. Of course, after the eighteen and a half minutes it’s a whole different story, but waiting until a specific time isn’t hard for Hope.
Good Role Model ~ Hope doesn’t drink, or do drugs, or curse. At least not in public. If she’s at home she may have a glass of wine with dinner, or if she stubs her toe in her room a curse might slip out, but when she’s out in public she’s on her best behavior. Being a teacher of nine year olds she doesn’t want to be seen as irresponsible by their parents, and you never know when you’ll run into someone.
She also goes out of her way to be a good person. She’ll help old ladies across the street, grab errant shopping carts before they hit cars, and would definitely return a wallet if she saw someone drop one. She believes that the only way she can encourage her students to be good people if she herself is one too.
Good Communicator ~ Hope’s gift in life is the ability to explain things well. She’s able to take complex subjects and break them down in such a way that anyone can understand. Her gift with words and love of children is what lead her to become a teacher. She loves that she’s helping the next generation of children grow into educated upstanding adults. Hope’s communication skills also come in handy when speaking to the parents of her students. She’s able to ease first day of school worries, and fly through parent-teacher conferences without becoming nervous herself.
Driven ~ When Hope has a goal nothing will stop her from completing it to the best of her ability. She was near the top of her class at DCU not because she was super intelligent, but because she tried and put 110% effort into each and every class she took. She managed to finish in the top three of most of her 5K marathons because she pushed herself everyday to do better. Hope constantly pushes herself to be better, refusing to settle for second best. This encompasses those around her as well, if she has a failing student she won’t rest until she’s found a way to help them, extra credit, parent-teacher meetings- whatever it takes.
Flaws: Perfectionist ~ Everything Hope does has to be perfect. If it’s not perfect she trashes it and starts again. It’s one reason that it takes her so long to finish just one project. Puzzles she likes because once they’re done they’re perfect no matter what (unless she loses a piece which just about kills her). Her picture frames and especially her jewelry on the other hand are a real challenge. Unfortunately her perfectionism extends to more than just her crafts. When she’s getting ready to go somewhere she’ll be late before she goes out not looking perfect. This leads to her being late quite often.
Hypercritical ~ Hope doesn’t just expect herself to be perfect but she expects everyone around her to be perfect as well. The only exception to this is children, Hope is aware that children aren’t at the same maturity level to live up to her standards. Adults on the other hand. When an adult does something wrong Hope doesn’t have much grace for them, especially if it was something that she had explained to them previously. Her never ending need for perfection can put a lot of people off, and while she knows this she can’t help it- whenever she looks at something the first thing she does is look for its flaws and no matter how small they are she will find them and shove them in your face.
Secretive ~ Hope is a woman with a lot of secrets. She doesn’t like to share information about her personal life or about her past. It makes her a great secret keeper for her friends, but not so great at being close with others. She’ll even go as far to tell small lies to stop conversations before they get too personal. Hope doesn’t trust many people with her secrets and is one reason she enjoys working with children, they don’t ask nearly as many personal questions.
Eats Her Emotions ~ Her dire need for perfection and the stress of keeping her life up in wraps can eat at Hope and when it becomes too much she turns to her best friend: food. Hope eats when she’s happy, sad, depressed, angry, or even bored. Food fills her in a way that nothing else can or so she believes. Her fridge is always stocked full of food, and the drawers of her desk in her class room are also stuffed with snacks.

What Category is This For? Semi-custom senshi. How Many Powered Characters Do You Own? None. No characters at all, in fact. Link to Quest Thread:Cliquez-moi!Name: Melanthios Vervain. Yes, he knows it's ridiculous. Nickname: Mel to teachers and classmates, Anthy to close friends/romantic interests. Age: 17 Birthday: September 18th Sign: Virgo Gemstone: Sapphire Blood Type: B Fav. Food: Baklava/other Greek pastries Hated Food: Beef Stew/anything with cauliflower School: Meadowview Public High School Hobbies:Moviegoing -- One of Melanthios' favorite activities is to go to the movies alone and immerse himself completely in the spectacle. Plot is what he tends to latch on to, before even character, and he can recite the plot of any movie he's seen easily. This has the tendency to pull his conversation into digressions, and gets him strange looks from less erudite, or more accurately less easily distracted people, or those in a hurry. Urban Exploration-- Anthy is quite the flâneur; he loves to leave the house at just before dusk and wander the streets in search of adventure--and coffee. He enjoys, in a sort of bemused, detached way, meeting random strangers and seeing what happens in their lives; to a certain extent this is how he gathers up tales to tell his friends in conversation. He doesn't intentionally seek out danger--he wanders more for the sense of novelty, that the same places are every evening different in some way, and also finding new places he hasn't discovered before. He would start out, of an evening, by choosing a direction that he hadn't chosen before, or a permutation of possible destinations that would take him walking down streets in a direction he hadn't tried before. His mother worries about him, while he's wandering about, more than she ever tells him, but she doesn't mind too much provided he's home by the hour he specifies. Anthy doesn't really introduce himself to people, he's more of an observer. Occasionally this habit of his might provide him with the "opportunity" to happen upon Senshi or Negaverse folk in combat or up to no good; sometimes he would pretend it wasn't happening, but for the most part he'd be as spellbound and terrified an observer as any other. Choir -- Anthy wasn't surprised at all that he got into Meadowview's rather prestigious choir, because he's been singing since he was a small child, though he went through a few depressing years of not-singing when his voice broke and he didn't know what to do with it. He's well aware that his high opinion of his own singing abilities is only deserved insofar as he can back it up, which he feels like he's continually struggling to do in Meadowview's choir's tenor section. He has only once gotten a solo, something he's not too proud of. As a result, he practices incessantly, sometimes in the street. Babysitting -- Anthy's mother's best friend has a three-year-old and a five-year-old, and therefore is often in need of assistance so she can take some time off for her mental health. Anthy's mother had the bright idea one day of shoving them off on her teenage son, who resented the imposition at first, then discovered it was the most fun he'd had in ages. His two young charges kept demanding that their mother tell them one of "Anthy's stories," to the point that she found herself hiring him almost every weekend, then passing him on to her friends with young children. World Mythology -- From the time he was a little child, Anthy has pored delightedly over tomes of ancient myths, both from his parents' cultures--mother is Black Irish, father Thai--to Greco-Roman and Mesopotamian and Persian stories. This is a child who had read the Epic of Gilgamesh by 10, and who would love to tell you the story of What the Rose did to the Cypress. His teachers were for the most part delighted with this interest of his, though his mother tried to encourage him to read more "normal" offerings, finding his interest especially in his father's culture a bit too unusual/reminiscent of his father. Virtues: Generous -- Melanthios likes to feel that he's done something that made someone else feel good, specifically in giving of himself. A sense of largesse, almost noble in a way. If he has a bag of candy and you're around, you can expect to have at least a few pieces of it, though this doesn't guarantee that he likes you from a personal standpoint. You're just human, and fellow humans deserve to be shared with. Childlike/Good with Children -- Still about 10 years old emotionally, Melanthios sympathizes naturally with the large, forbidding, yet self-centered world of children. On the one hand, he likes how it feels to be the larger person, the helper, the friend a child can rely upon; on the other hand, he's motivated by a genuine sense of caring and would do anything to get a child out of trouble or danger. That being said, he's not that much of a mother hen--he's willing to let children wander around, and he doesn't lecture them too much--he has something close to a peer relationship with them, where one of the members just happens to know more about life. Melanthios' childlikeness extends to other areas of his life--despite having a sort of world-weary look, he's sometimes painfully naive, especially when it comes to romance, and he feels very ill at ease in the grown-up world, with its endless paperwork and politesse. He's socially comfortable only with people he identifies as kindred spirits, aside from children--most grown-ups seem distant to him, and people his own age far too self-absorbed and boring. Conversationalist/Good Sense of Humor -- Despite being in many ways a difficult companion, Melanthios at least knows how to laugh at himself, and laugh he does--his self-deprecating wit is put to good use in the stories he tells about his misadventures. His few good friends know they can come to him to put a lighter spin on their problems, which he does without mocking them, for if you're a real friend of Anthy's, you have his respect, which is hard to earn. He loves a good conversation above all else, and spends his time alone going over things he's seen in his mind, refining them, spinning them out into real stories. While his various flaws might lead one to think he'd be averse to introduce himself into social situations, he really has no issue with this, provided he's not called upon to do more than provide quietly witty banter. A deeper emotional investment with people he is jealous of or considers inferior is what he struggles with. Observant--Anthy's detachment (really a sort of running away from himself) and interest in seeing things in terms of narrative make him an excellent voyeur observer. He delights in watching things, anything, and noting details, important or no. This ability not only enriches his conversation, allowing to add a touch of realism to his description of events, but makes him an excellent mediator in disputes he personally is not involved in and would make him invaluable to police if he were a witness to a crime. Furthermore, he's a fast learner partly thanks to these observational skills. Flaws: Jealous -- Melanthios' purple eyes could almost be called green by proxy. Though he does not always--or even usually--merit it, and he realizes this, he secretly wants to always be the center of attention, to be doted on, and when other people have the spotlight he has a tendency to take an automatic dislike to them and dismiss their merits out of hand. Furthermore, he has difficulty sympathizing with the good fortune of others if it does not directly benefit himself, though he realizes this and finds it mildly repellent. Holds Grudges -- Melanthios finds it difficult to speak from the heart at times, especially if he resents something. If someone does him an injustice, he considers it part of who they are, and has serious difficulty letting go of it. As a result, once someone has lost his trust, they will find it nearly impossible to regain it--if they even care to. He considers them below him, or even, in extreme cases, subhuman. This tends to mean that revenge is not really on the table, because they're not worth it. And he does hold little grudges, though he doesn't blow the offenses out of proportion so much as he'll hold them cumulatively. So if someone borrows his pencil and doesn't give it back, he'll be very slightly annoyed with them indefinitely, not so much that anyone would really notice, and his way of expressing this to himself is "So and so is kind of irresponsible, aren't they?". If they proceed to lose the book he lent them, this will upgrade to "So and so is irresponsible and doesn't care about other people's possessions." This can last for years in some cases, months in others, depending on how often he sees a person, how important they are in his life, and how bad the "offense" is. Snobby -- Melanthios has a large but incredibly fragile ego, and finds it far too easy to look down on people for some small error they have made or a belief he finds fallacious. However, he lacks the confidence to insult these victims of his judgment to their faces, so he tends to avoid them instead, sometimes to the point of being awkward, if they corner him in the corridor at school or on the street. Deeply Insecure -- Follows from the above three. Melanthios is just never quite sure of himself. Perhaps it was the years of teasing over his name, which he now claims to be proud of; perhaps it follows from the impossibly high standards he sets for himself, but a continual sense of unworthiness and unsureness follows Melanthios like his own personal patch of bad weather. His self-loathing is not helped by the prevalence of Senshi in Destiny City--he's always fancied himself someone exceptional, and to find himself on the side of the civilians in a sort of cosmic war--this is unthinkable. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONEyes: Deep purple, turn up at the corners. Hair: Dark brown, looks black, thick, wavy, parts of it hang over his face in layered bangs. No longer than just beyond chin-length, relatively masculine style. Face: Heart-shaped, thinnish. Long, thin nose. Smallish mouth. High cheekbones. Relatively sharp chin. Ears are hidden under hair. Skin is a rich but light mocha. Clothes: N/A SENSHI ADDENDUM OF WIN Senshi Alias: Sailor SCHEHEREZADE, Senshi of STORYTELLING Scheherezade is the storyteller from the Arabian Nights. King Sharyar had been marrying women and killing them the next morning, because his first wife had betrayed him. Scheherezade, the vizier's daughter, well-read and brilliant, volunteers to take the place of the next bride. She saves the lives of hundreds of women, including her own, by spinning a series of tales that lasts 1001 nights, by which time Sharyar has fallen in love with her and had several children by her. Scheherezade is also a minor planet.Senshi Element: Storytelling Challenge: The moral of the story is... you're punished! Attacks: T Sailor Scout Attack: Scheherezade's Gift (defensive): Night appears to descend, and Scheherezade alone seems quite well-lit. He approaches the enemy until he is only a few yards away, and then begins a tale that keeps them entranced for 30 seconds-1 minute. He can only keep them distracted as long as he maintains his concentration, and if another Senshi hits an enemy with an attack during this time, their interest in his story is broken and Scheherezade is vulnerable until he can get further away from the enemy. Super Sailor Scout Attack: Gift of Wisdom (defensive) Scheherezade begins a story in the same manner as the Sailor Scout Attack, only it now also has a pleasant effect on the other Senshi he's fighting with (no effect on him if he's fighting alone). They feel somewhat refreshed and their wounds will heal, if they're minor, and cause them less pain, if they're more serious. The story also lasts a little longer, between 1 and 2 minutes. Eternal Sailor Attack: Star-Crossed Ending (offensive) Scheherezade walks towards the enemy, (alternative idea: hovers in front of them on a flying carpet) arms outstretched, apparently unarmed, telling a story about them. The enemy is confused and (hopefully) unable to react for a short while. (Unless they're really powerful.) Around the end of the tale he gets to "But it was not to be, for their fates were WRITTEN IN THE STARS!" and the stars that form part of the illusion of evening he creates fall in torrents, wounding the enemy quite badly. This attack requires quite a bit of time, as Scheherezade has to get most of the way through a(n admittedly rather short) story, and if the enemy can manage to break their concentration, it goes nowhere. Also, he's open to attack that whole time, if there's an enemy that hasn't managed to become entranced. Inspiration Images: I don't have any images, but I do have a song: Yo-Yo Ma!
