¤ So lend me your ears, and lend me your eyes. And I'll show you the world the way I see it.
Ðîøŋ Azɑɱɨ Dion's eyes widened at the other male - Dorian was it? - kissed Aizen. Aizen pushed him away, but...Dion felt odd. Aizen had yelled at the other, and though he didn't know what was going on between the two, decided to end the encounter.
Dion removed himself from his bed, ignoring any pain that occurred and stepped between Aizen and the other male. He stepped up to the boy and began to push at him. "Go. Away." Dion frowned at the boy.
Dion was surprised at this new development - his frowning. Wait, that wasn't right. He had frowned before. But when? It confused Dion so much, that he stopped pushing at the other boy. He turned and looked at Aizen. "Ai-nii. Have you ever seen me frown?" Dion's face no longer showed a trace of the frown as he asked. So lend me you heart, and lend me your smile. Because a smile's contagious, and sometimes I need it.¤

xxxxxxxxxxʃ ɑ с ҡ . || CITY BOY - SURFER BOY || “They’re fun,” Jack said firmly, an unspoken ‘idiot’ hanging silently off the end of the short sentence. His expression was hovering around smug anticipation. There was honest to god excitement in his eyes. And somewhere underneath it all, nerves. He realized suddenly that he was nervous about bringing Kaito to see a place that he held so close to his heart that obviously clashed with Kaito. There was no reason for the blue haired boy to like it (aside from the fact that Jack was convinced everyone liked the boardwalk on some level) and Jack’s resolve waivered. It was at though the boardwalk were a gift he’d decided to give Kaito and now couldn’t remember why he’d picked it out. Oh screw it. They were going to have fun. Or at least make it a night to remember.
He could practically feel Kaito’s shields slam into place and chuckled. He moved easily through the crowd, his body twisting to avoid anything around him without even having to think about it. Even though he was nearly a foot taller than the other he had a lot more experience navigating careless crowds. What kind of crowds would Kaito have come up against that wouldn’t just move out of his way? It couldn’t have been many.
“That one,” he pointed to the lit track of crisscrossing metal and wood high overhead and down to the right on the walkway. People were laughing and shouting and generally making noise on all sides of them. And just beyond the rides stretched the ocean, already dark with the night sky but still throwing up a crash of waves that somehow soothed the rest of the noise, making it a dull roar rather than a collection of piercing shrieks. The smell of salt water permeated everything, even past the smell of foot guaranteed to rot your teeth or test your immune system. It wasn’t all terrible edibles. But Jack’s favorites certainly were.
Somehow Jack’s place in line at the ticket booth was much further up the line than it should have been. It didn’t take them long to reach the front and he came away with two wrist bands, fastening one around Kaito’s arm before he had time to even see what was going on. It was easier to keep track of than tickets.
“Coaster,” Jack announced firmly, dragging Kaito off into the line, again somehow managing to end up in a place that was definitely not the end of the queue without objection.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxIn the BRIGHTEST HOURxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxof my DARKEST DAYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXxxxxXx I realizedxxxxxxxxxxxxx[sssWHAT IS WRONG WITH MExxx]▃▃▃ ▄ ▆ ▄ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ There was a moment of uncertainty when he felt Aizen freeze against him, not responding. But then… Yes. Aizen was kissing him back and it was everything that Dorian remembered. There was instant chemistry that had existed between them from the moment the brunette had stepped out of his limo and taken a fist to the cheek. Maybe that blow had broken something loose but Aizen had occupied a good portion of his mind from that moment onwards. Even when he’d mostly interacted with him only because his ‘disciplinary committee’ or whatever the hell it was called, hadn’t liked Dorian much, he’d only really spoken to Aizen directly. He began looking for excuses to find him, talk to him, touch him. And it had developed into more, into this. That kiss was exactly what he wanted to have again.
And then it was gone and Aizen was yelling at him. Dorian let out a small breath and frowned. “Aizen, you kissed me back. Stop screwing around. I know you’re mad, but you can’t be mad at me forever.” Frustration crept into his voice, a touch of pleading asking Aizen to forgive his absence and let them start from where they’d been again. When he’d broken up with the young man now glaring at him, Dorian had never meant for it to be forever.
He might have said more but suddenly one of the patients was there in front of him, blocking him from moving to Aizen again. Blue eyes focused on the student, widening when the boy actually pushed him. What the hell was this? “…your new bodyguard leaves something to be desired,” he crossed his arms over his chest. This guy didn’t look at all intimidating. And what did he think he was doing? This was none of his business. It was between Dorian and Aizen exclusively.
Maybe he had some kind of mental condition. This seemed even more plausible when the blonde looked at Aizen and asked him about frowning. Maybe he was in the hospital for a concussion? “Should I get a nurse?” he grumbled. “Maybe one with a giant sleeping pill?” And then he could persuade Aizen to leave these boys and come back to the school with him. They didn’t even have to do anything, he just didn’t want to let Aizen out of his sight again. Not yet. Not until he was forgiven.

His guard was let down after these six months and the sound of Dorian's voice was making it really hard for him to keep him from saying 'I forgive you...' But then something odd happened. Dion came in the middle, and intercepted.
Aizen's worry gotten high and he immediately went over to the blonde. His question was quite random as he went over to go and pick him up and place him back on his bed. He just stared at him quietly and shook his head. "Well...not til now...But you need to stay in bed. The doc told you too."
After he placed Dion back in his bed and tucked him in, he shot a 'shut-up' glare towards Dorian and grabbed a blanket, throwing it over him. He was going to see if it was possible to make him look a little natural to be in here since this was a public area. He spotted a baseball cap near-by Yukio and picked it up. He placed it on Dorian's head and then returned next to Dion. "I'm not going to leave here til tomorrow, so if you insist on staying and bothering me, be my guest. But my attention's only going to be focusing on Dion and my brother." Aizen kept his face away from looking at Dorian. An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world "We'll see..."Kaito drawled, not sure he could trust anything that Jack labeled as 'fun' it had to be dangerous to one's health. The act that there was a definite amount of smugness about his answer only added to Kaito's belief. Although the excitement lighting up the amethyst eyes made it hard for him to say no. Not that he had any will power to do so in the first place.
Slowly a touch of a smile pulled at his bottom lip, reacting to the shear amount of excitement and happiness practically radiating off his roommate. It couldn't be that bad here if it would bring that much out of Jack, he could at least appreciate it for that. Even if there were far to many people for his comfort. Slate blue eyes followed the line as Jack pointed towards a massive metal and wood construct that looked about as safe as high level explosives as a cart full of screaming people rocked its surface. But that wasn't what had the artist freezing a moment later. Just past the roller coaster was a stretch of water a rich midnight blue. So dark he hadn't even noticed it and now that he could, he could catch the stronger smell he'd been picking up from his window. The salt tang of an ocean. It was so well hidden by everything else...he had simply missed it getting stronger.
Caught up in a sort of wonder at being near as close to a clear and warm ocean as he'd ever been, Kaito's normal defenses stilled. While Jack managed to shove his way into line and people bumped into the black clad teenager, he never looked away. It wasn't until something snapped on his arm that he finally turned slightly stunned slate orbs towards the offending object. It was brightly colored and looked somewhat like a bracelet.
Before Kaito could even ask what it was he was being dragged off deeper into the crush of people and the spell was broken. Almost instantly his shields snapped into place once more. Although here in this world of lights it didn't half half the effect, people were too busy paying attention to the world around them than who they ran into. Kaito glanced back behind them and then forward as they were suddenly in line, close to the front, for the rollercoaster. It shrieked past over head and Kaito rolled his neck to stare up at it.
"There are more humane ways to kill a person."The blue haired artist pointed out, shifting a touch closer to his roommate as the person behind him crowded towards him.

Ðîøŋ Azɑɱɨ Dion let a small squeal escape his lips when Aizen suddenly picked him up and placed him back on the bed. It took him by surprise. Was Aizen being...protective? Dion shook his head and looked back over to the brunette male. It seemed that something definitely went on between them once before. Dion felt like punching him. He shook his head again, getting rid of the thought. He wasn't a violent person.
He stuck his tongue out at Dorian triumphantly when Aizen said he'd be staying here. He was glad he was. "When do we get to go back to school, Ai-nii?" He asked Aizen, pulling him closer by the arm, holding it to his face while glaring at Dorian. Why he was acting like such a child he didn't know, but he sure as hell didn't like this new character. So lend me you heart, and lend me your smile. Because a smile's contagious, and sometimes I need it.¤

xxxxxxxxxxʃ ɑ с ҡ . || CITY BOY - SURFER BOY || Jack caught the way Kaito seemed instantly entranced by the ocean. He couldn’t blame him, but he was surprised at how strong the reaction was. Even if Kaito were impressed, Jack would have expected him to hide it fairly well but a blind man could have seen it this time. Jack was pretty sure he could have steered Kaito straight into a woman’s bathroom without him noticing until it was too late. For a moment the idea was actually pretty tempting, but he let the impulse pass. Mischief for mischief’s sake was not in the plans tonight. Not against Kaito anyway.
“We can go right down there afterwards,” he said almost instantly. If he hadn’t already been so set on putting Kaito on a rollercoaster immediately he would have taken him down onto the sand in a second. Instead, he only pointed out the steps that lined the walkway every twenty yards or so. Sand was scattered everywhere, kicked up from the beach that was constantly only a few feet away. It slid under Jack’s feet as he walked, making scuffling noises.
In line Jack only grinned at Kaito’s sarcastic worry. “Don’t worry. The odds of you dying here are probably the same as the heir to a business empire following a redhead he just met across the country to threaten a government official and then sneak off to ride a rollercoaster covered in sand. And that’ll never happen.” His voice was light and teasing, reclining against the railings that marked the line for the ride.
The line moved and it was soon their turn. Jack had to take a moment to decide if he wanted the front or the back and decided the front was a much better first time experience. The back had a lot more whiplash which he found fun but didn’t completely want to subject Kaito to. So he managed to steer them into the very front car of the coaster, one arm comfortably around Kaito’s shoulders as the bar was lowered. For Jack, it was as near a perfect moment as he was likely to ever get.
The safety spiel sounded over the intercom and they were off.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxIn the BRIGHTEST HOURxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxof my DARKEST DAYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXxxxxXx I realizedxxxxxxxxxxxxx[sssWHAT IS WRONG WITH MExxx]▃▃▃ ▄ ▆ ▄ ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ Dorian couldn’t help the flutter of jealousy that hit him when Aizen was so easy to touch the blonde. Who was this? He had to be a new student. Dorian didn’t recognize him in the slightest, but apparently at some point during the time he’d been gone Aizen and the blonde student had become close enough for Aizen to actually care about, at least to the extent of trying to get the other not to injure himself. He didn’t like this. Not in the slightest. He was already on rocky territory with Aizen, he didn’t need whats-his-name complicating things.
Dorian only continued to cross his arms over his chest when Aizen shot him a glare. He was practically playing nursemaid to this guy! And the brat was sticking his tongue out at him now, holding onto his Aizen. Dorian felt sick. He opened his mouth angrily, but was cut off when a baseball cap was suddenly on his head. He blinked, then relaxed again. An invitation to stay. Not a very friendly invitation, but good enough. And…. Aizen had thought about his safety, his privacy. He was still trying to protect Dorian from some of the more unpleasant aspects of his career. It was all he could do to keep the pleased smirk off his face.
“I’ll stay,” he said quickly. “I just need to grab some coffee before they shut the cafeteria down for the night. Want anything?” He paused long enough for an answer then headed out into the hallway. He pulled his phone from his pocket and spoke a few quick words into it, explaining to his manager that he would be staying the night. She objected of course. It was her job to keep him from doing stupid things like this, but he was adamant and she eventually backed down.
He hummed under his breath as he moved slowly down the stairs, hands trailing along the railing. He needed a lot of coffee if he was going to fight jet lag, let alone stay up all night. But there was no way in hell he was going to let himself fall asleep in front of others, not even Aizen. And especially not in front of that… that blonde. ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▄ ▆ ▄ ▃▃▃ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCan't get over youxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxCan't get through to youxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx It's been a xxxxxxxxxxxxx[sssHELTER SKELTER ROMANCExxx]xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXxxxxXx FROM THE START --------►

An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world As the line shuffled forward Kaito dropped his slate gaze towards the boards beneath their feet. The rough sound had been coming from the fact that it was liberally covered in grains of sand that had managed to retain their color despite the amount of feet that must have walked over them. It was almost as much of a promise as Jack's statement earlier about taking him down to see the beach. Thinking about that helped a little with the fact that he was currently surrounded by people who were in various states of dress and none to worried about how much of his personal space they took up. His flat look at the heavy set male behind him managed to gain him a few inches of breathing room but not much else.
The rollercoaster speed past them again as the next load was filled and they moved forward once more. Jack seemed unconcerned with the fact that the entire structure shook under the cart that was winging around it at high speeds. He'd have felt safer behind the wheel of a Maserati.
"Oh yes, against those odds I feel much better."Kaito drawled, not terribly impressed given they were currently sneaking aboard a rollercoaster covered in sand. Slate jumped to the red-head who was casually reclining against the railing and thus likely missed the flat stare intended for him. Of cource, it didn't last very long because at about that time the line moved forward once more and Jack was leading them towards the front of what must pass for the cart and steering them in.
An arm dropped over his shoulders as Kaito stiffened, although for once it wasn't because he was being touched. It had more to do with the fact that he was sitting on what amounted to planks of wood, being controlled by who knows what sort of idiot, about to be thrown at high speeds over a structurally unsound rollercoaster. Suddenly he didn't feel so well.
"They take classes or something for running this thing, right?"The blue haired artist asked, a touch of what might have been panic touching his voice before someone started giving them a long list of things they weren't supposed to be doing. Kaito locked them all in his memory, doubting they'd help but it might, before they were suddenly moving. His hand snapped down on Jack's of its own volition as his slate orbs widened and he stared ahead as they slowly rose up towards the peak of the roller coaster.

xxxxxxxxxxʃ ɑ с ҡ . || CITY BOY - SURFER BOY || “Well they do say lightning never strikes the same place twice,” Jack smiled. “Maybe you’ve used up all your bad luck already.” He didn’t have to see Kaito to guess at his expression. Flat sarcasm in a box. If there was a market for it, Kaito would have been rich. …wait, that didn’t work. Damn inheritance, messing up Jack’s internal monologues. But the thing was he found he didn’t mind those things about Kaito. There were so many points that should have irked the hell out of him, but they always just ended up adding another bit of interesting complication. Was this what going insane was like? Having your world shift around you without your permission?
When they sat down, he could feel the tension in Kaito’s shoulders. A very faint part of him that was his starved and neglected conscience suggested that maybe he should have started Kaito off on something smaller rather than one of the largest attractions in the park. Maybe they should have tried a rollercoaster that wasn’t almost a century old. Maybe maybe. Too late now. The best Jack could do was do his best to distract Kaito a little bit, leaning closer and nuzzling the boy’s neck as he spoke.
“Yeah, it’s all safe. You’re fine.” He twisted his hand so he could hold onto the one Kaito had suddenly locked onto his. He should have felt a bit guilty for taking advantage of the situation, but he really didn’t. Jack knew there was nothing to worry about and if a little paranoia had this kind of effect, the redhead wasn’t about to complain.
Their view was unobstructed as they reached the pinnacle of the track, cranks and gears clacking below them getting ready to let go and submit the coaster’s patrons to gravity’s mercies. There was a collective cry from the riders as they suddenly dropped, the connected cars roaring down and then up again, twisting and turning. Jack could feel his stomach roll pleasantly, dropping out and leaving him a bit light headed. He couldn’t help the full laugh that escaped him, one arm still around Kaito and the other holding his hand. For Jack these things never lasted long enough and they were slowing before he knew it.

An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world Kaito was currently hoping Jack was correct. He did not need any bad luck while traveling a couple dozen miles an hour on this death machine disguised as a roller coaster. He was already making a mental note to pay Jack back for this as something suddenly nuzzled that spot on his neck. Almost instantly a shiver chased its way down his spine, not even terror could stop that particular reaction. The red head promise him it was safe, turning his hand to hold onto Kaito's better.
"So says you."Kaito responded, his tone echoing the emotion boiling in the back of his eyes as he stared at the track in front o them that suddenly dropped off and plummeted towards the ground. The noises below them suddenly stopped and the artist stopped breathing, thinking something must have gone wrong, before they were suddenly diving over the edge.
Biting back an instinctive sound, one he refused to admit might have been a scream, Kaito jerked his head around and pressed it into the taller male's chest. His slate eyes tightly closed he'd rather not accept the fact that he had absolutely NO control over anything at that moment. It was not a sensation familiar to the blue haired male and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. So he spent the entire ride tucked into Jack with his face tightly pressed against the others T-shirt. He had never been so grateful for anything as when it finally slowed to a stop.
"People do this for fun?"The blue haired artist asked, lifting his head slightly to reveal wide blue eyes and hair that was sticking up from his position and the wind. As soon as the metal arm pinning them opened he bolted out his side and grabbed a railing. Never again, no matter how cute Jack looked while asking him to do so. He liked the ground, it didn't suddenly do something you couldn't stop. There was a reason why Kaito had even learned how to fly before getting on a plane. How do you learn how to stop a run away rollercoaster?

Ðîøŋ Azɑɱɨ "Who is that guy, Ai-nii? I don't like him. And I like everybody! Why don't I like him? I'm very confused." Dion leaned against Aizen and sighed. His ribs just felt like a giant bruise. He didn't want to stay in the hospital anymore. He wanted to go back to school.
"When do you think I'll be able to leave this place Aizen?" Dion asked, saying Aizen's name fully for the first time. "I don't like it here anymore." Dion wondered why. Did it have something to do with his past he was just beginning to remember? He didn't mind it when he was at the health office at school. So why didn't he like it now? So lend me you heart, and lend me your smile. Because a smile's contagious, and sometimes I need it.¤

xxxxxxxxxxʃ ɑ с ҡ . || CITY BOY - SURFER BOY || While Kaito was apparently in his own private hell, Jack was absolutely in heaven. The mere fact that Kaito was pressed against him for all he was worth would have been enough to make the redhead’s stomach flip all on its own. This time he wasn’t even remotely near considering guilt for enjoying it. He wouldn’t have liked seeing Kaito afraid if there were any real danger, but since there wasn’t he let himself simply enjoy being able to see a more vulnerable side to the other male. The odds of ever spotting it again were extremely low. Kaito looked about ready to burn the entire boardwalk to the ground rather than go another round on the ride.
“People like me,” Jack confirmed with a nod, following at a more leisurely pace. His grin was laced with a smirk, a touch more sensual than it had been before. He wanted to go back to that bit where Kaito was clinging to him even where all the rest of the world could see. Now that Kaito was too distracted to project his aura of cold death to any and all passersby, the blue haired boy was attracting a little attention. The way he’d bolted and turned a few heads and more than Jack liked were staying turned. A couple of teenage girls in particular seemed rather interested and looked more than ready to ‘comfort’ a distressed Kaito. Well Jack was putting a stop to that right now.
Arms slid around Kaito’s waist in a distinctly more than friendly tone. Checking to make sure his targets were paying attention (and boy were they) he nipped Kaito’s ear with a grin. If that didn't send a clear message about who Kaito belonged to, nothing would. “Well thanks for going anyway,” he said, the grin evident in his voice even if one couldn’t see his expression. “Let’s head down to the beach for a bit.” He did his best to nudge Kaito down towards one of the stairs that seemed to lead into blackness. Only after one’s eyes had adjusted to the lack of bright lights and flashing neon could the faint outline of soft white sand be seen along with the black blue expanse of water. The surface shimmered as it reflected a rainbow of the lights behind them when waves crested.
“You can take off your shoes,” he pointed out, eyes dancing in amusement. “You’re at the ocean. You should at least stand in it.”

To his pleasant surprise, the hospital coffee hadn’t actually looked too bad when it was being made. The machine had already been turned off for the night, but Dorian had smiled and begged, explaining that he wanted to be able to sit up with a friend that he hadn’t seen in six months. He left out the part about his friend not being actually a patient and let the person behind the counter think what they wanted. All that mattered was that he got what he needed to stay awake. The fact that he was already feeling a bit drowsy did not bode well for the remainder of the evening.
When he came back in, the nameless blonde was leaning against Aizen as the two sat on the bed. They looked so comfortable with each other that Dorian felt his stomach knot. Aizen wasn’t supposed to look comfortable with anyone but him. Aizen was not what you called an even tempered boy. He had a tendency to fly off the handle at times, especially if he really felt strongly about something. Seeing him so calm with a stranger was disturbing. There was a moment when nerves got the better of him and Dorian’s hand shook, but he quickly regained control.
A cool gaze fixed on the blonde. “You never told me who this was,” he said very softly. He ran his eyes over the form, appraising it. Passably cute he supposed. A pleasant face that looked like it was more suited to smiling than frowning, though Dorian had hardly noticed the blonde looking happy at all from the moment he’d walked in. Dorian himself took a seat in one of the empty chairs against the wall, trying to look like he wasn’t fuming inside.
